Nasuverse character
Japanese name: イシュタル
Franchise: Fate
Character type: Divine Spirit
Gender: Female
Ishtar (イシュタル, Ishutaru?) is a goddess of Babylonian mythology, playing a great part in the Epic of Gilgamesh.

Ishtar is the goddess of fertility of Babylonian mythology and one of many mother goddesses whose power is derived from the Earth Mother.[1][2] After Gilgamesh and Enkidu defeated Humbaba, Ishtar fell in love with Gilgamesh, proposing to the King of Heroes, but he quickly refused due to her reputation as a whimsical and cruel witch who "rendered men useless." Ishtar was enraged by the insults towards her, so she sought out her father, Anu, to get her revenge. Clinging to him in tears, she asked for the Bull of Heaven to be released onto the earth. The duo once again worked together to defeat it, causing Ishtar to lose face and drive her rage further. To the other gods, she requested the death of one of the two, citing that one with a human body killing the beast of the gods was a sin. Her wish was granted, and Enkidu soon died due to being unable to defy the decree as a creation of the gods.[2]

Gilgamesh (Prototype) hates her greatly, describing the sentiment as "Women who are absolutely confident in their good looks are repulsive creatures!” He sees similarities between her and Manaka Sajyou.[3]

Fate/Extra CCC

When Gilgamesh mentions that he will not use his full power for Hakuno Kishinami, he states an exception would be an Alter Ego using Ishtar as a base. He says BB has likely taken his personality into account when creating them, so it is unlikely to happen.
