A skill that represents being able to perceive the real world by its magical structure and interact (analyze, modify, absorb, etc) directly with its flows and sediments. He sees all forms of magical energy flow overlapped with his physical vision, similar to how it is with the phenomenon that makes electromagnetic waves visible. It's not Mystic Eyes, as it also affects his hearing and other senses. It's impossible to even walk properly for someone who didn't obtain this Skill from birth and didn't grow up accustomed to this kind of scenery.

Bởi vì bắt nguồn từ sự sợ hãi và lo lắng của con người nên sức mạnh thay đổi theo mật độ dân số trong bán kính năm kilomet. It transforms the Caster Class Skill “Item Creation” into “Item Creation (Modified),” the ability to raise the “rank” of preexisting items by creating anecdotes concerning them, making them pseudo-Noble Phantasms.
If Dumas obtains a relic that is already rank A or higher, he will not be able to modify it because its anecdotes are already “complete.”

The Norse underworld ship. The great god Odin ferried the corpse of his blood descendant Sinfjötli through the fjords on his ship. This ship is an underworld ship meant to traverse between the realms of the dead and the living, so it can be used as a form of Self-Destructive Noble Phantasm that takes his prey's souls away from the present world along with himself... except that in this specific manifestation, he sails it along Percival, thus utilizing this as a powerful mobile weapon that makes best use its mobility and stealth capabilities while using Percival as the ship's "main cannon". His Master forbids him from unleashing the Noble Phantasm's True Name as that's how he can use the Self-Destructive Noble Phantasm form.
It takes the appearance of a Viking ship. Its speed is regulated by a sail of light on its cross-shaped mast, and the rows of shields on the flanks of the ship can serve as magical energy thrusters. When not using the ship, its mast can be used as a pike.

This DIY gorilla can craft functional improvised weapons from any object he finds in the battlefield, and likewise, his decisions are always adapted to the situation at hand.
He doesn't have the best memories associated with snakes. And his wives are another thing that scare him.

Nasu's comment: The newest Magician. Aoko-san, the heroine in slender clothing. She seems like a stoic person but she actually has many different facial expressions. She seems like a flawless superwoman but she is actually the hard-working type. She's the earliest heroine of Nasu Kinoko's fiction. She's the initial archetype of Azaka, Akiha and Rin. Koyama's Aoko had her breast volume increased by 20%, I don't know what to do with all that sex appeal! Two options were discussed for the extra chapter's fan-service scene: "Just out of the bath" and "Maid outfit". But for some reason "Bunny girl" which wasn't even a candidate got chosen. While Redshifting in the second episode she'll say the catchphrase "I still have two transformations left!" to drive the opponent to despair. As expected of Aoko.

Koyama's comment: She is the character I drew the most including half of the standing up sprites and the discarded materials. I can't tell you how many times my designs for her casual clothes got discarded. We wanted to show more of her girlish side so there were talks about including event CGs about miniskirts, out of the bath getup, and getting shoulder rubs while studying. Alas, when I saw the amusement park battle I thought "So this is Aoko" and became convinced that in the end a simple sweater and jeans suited her the best. Aoko's outfit in the final battle (aka Super-Aoko) was also a difficult one to settle on. The Sci-fi option was discarded early. Although it would've been cool to have a bunch of lenses attached to her hands and feet to shoot beams (Laughs).

最新の魔法使い。着やせするヒロイン、青子さん。ドライなようで百面相。完璧超人のようで努力型。奈須きのこ伝奇最古のヒロイン。後の鮮花、 秋葉、凛のアーキタイプです。こやま青子は胸のボリュウムが二割増しされており、たいへん性欲を持て余す。番外編でのサービスカットは「お 風呂上がり」と「メイド服」の二点があげられたが、なぜか候補に入ってさえいなかった「バニーガール」が選ばれた。二話では赤方偏移形態で「私 はあと二回の変身を残している」と決め台詞をほざき、相手を絶望させる予定。まさに青子。

こやまひろかず
全立ち絵素材の半分くらい、没絵含め最も多く描いたキャラです。私服のデザイン決定までにいくつ没にしたことか。女子としてもっと隙を見せ た方が、と、ミニスカ、風呂上がり、勉強中に肩もみイベント入れようぜ、とか話したりしてました。が、遊園地戦を見て、「ああ、これが青子な んだ」と納得するに至り、結局ジーンズにシンプルなセーターが一番似合うなと。最終決戦の青子(通称スーパー青子)も難航しました。SF チッ クなのは速攻没。手足と連動してのビームぶっぱ用レンズが一杯付いててカッコいいのに(笑)

Nasu's comment: The last witch, heir to a system of Magecraft unlike any other within the fiction of Type Moon. To her, the distinction between Magecraft and Magic is almost meaningless. Even making a world is within her ability. But then again, what is a witch? Sadly, you won't get an answer until next time. She has a cool and collected demeanor, but her girlish creativity makes her the number 1 dreamer in this work. Her mother named her Alice after the character in the "Alice in wonderland" book. Both mother and daughter are fairy tale characters. The fact that she barely shows any skin and yet still looks so erotic is an example of the Koyama Magic. The mannequin aura in her casual clothes is very strange. The penguin costume is simply cheating. That too is an example of the Koyama Magic.

Koyama's comment: It was easy to draw a cold and quiet beauty, but I found drawing the subtle differences in her expressions to be difficult. However Nasu-san's comment: "The inside of Alice is that of a child" solved that issue for me. From those early days to the character she is today, it is all connected. That was the biggest or second biggest paradigm shift during the production but ever since then she became dramatically easier to draw. Her school uniform is a slightly modified one from the Reien Academy which Touko also attended. And because I wanted to make use of Alice's slim body, I might have made it a little too tight.

久遠寺有珠

型月伝奇では反則的な魔術系統を持つ、最後の魔女。魔法と魔術の関係とかほとんどブチ壊し。本気でワールドメイキング可能な領域にいるが、 魔女ってなんなの?という話はまた次の機会に。クールな素振りだが、少女的空想力は作中NO・1の夢見る少女。アリスという名前は母親が「不 思議の国のアリス」からいただいたもの。親子そろってメルヘンである。露出度はほぼゼロなのに全体的にエロいのはまさにこやまマジック。私 服姿のマヌカンオーラは異常。ペンギン姿は卑怯。それもこやまマジックです。

こやまひろかず
無口なクールビューティというのはイラストにはし易いですが、ゲームの表情差分を描こうと思うと難しい物でした。が、奈須さんの「有珠の中 身は子供のまま」という一言でそれは氷解しました。その生い立ちから現在のキャラクターまで一本に繋がった訳です。制作中1、2を争う大き なパラダイムシフトで、以降劇的に描き易くなりました。制服は橙子も通っていた礼園女学院のもので少しアレンジされてます。有珠のスリムな シルエットを活かすためとはいえ、ややピタピタにしすぎたかも。

Nasu's comment: A simple young man that came from the countryside. Even though he's simple he isn't naïve, and even though he looks like a passive man, sometimes he gets fired up like a beast. To tell you the truth he's the hardest character to comment on. In the original novel version he was close to 180cm tall, but in the game version he changed classes to that of a fresh young man. Soujuurou's aloof yet funny mannerisms in the main story were really brought out by Koyama's drawings. A natural master at being both the straight-man and butt of the joke, the human air conditioner of the Kuonji mansion (For both cooling and heating). By the way, even though he's not generally good at household chores and doesn't seem to enjoy doing them, he still cleans up during his free time.

Koyama's comment: Takeuchi's original design had this wild atmosphere to it, but I persuaded the mushroom to make him look cuter while keeping that atmosphere. The inside of Soujuurou is still the same, but I hope the difference is noticeable. In the Beo battle scene I made many facial expressions that give a glimpse into Soujuurou's original look. He's a plain person who wears the school affiliated coat even in his downtime. I think he makes the logical choice to dress based on function rather than design. For example pants with lots of pockets, or shoes that are easy to run in.

静希草十郎

奈須きのこ
田舎からやってきた純朴な青少年。しかし純朴といっても純情な訳でもなく、草食系に見えてバリバリの野生児であったりもする。実は一番コメ ントに困る人物。小説版では180センチを近い長身でしたが、ゲーム版ではさわやか系男子にクラスチェンジしました。本編の草十郎が親然とし ながらもひょうきんな言動をするのはこやま絵の味に引きずられてのこと。ボケとツッコミを天然で使いこなす、久遠寺邸の人間空調機(冷房と 暖房)。ちなみに、暇さえあれば掃除をしているが家事全般は苦手かつ好きではないらしい。

こやまひろかず
当初の武内デザイン原案ではワイルドな雰囲気でしたが、朴訥とした雰囲気はそのままに容姿だけかわいい系に変更させてもらいました。中身は 基本的に変わってないので、そのギャップが出てくれればと思っています。ベオ戦では本来の草十郎の顔が垣間見えるシーンで専用の表情も多く なっています。飾り気のない男で、学校指定のコートを平時にも着用しています。デザインより機能性、合理性重視の選択をするんだろうなと思 います。チャックが多いとか、走り易い靴とか。

Nasu's comment: As you may have noticed, Touko-san is the total-participation all-purpose handyman of the type moon fiction. Her legs are erotic. It's the kind of erotic that makes you think "What's up with this person!?". It's the design that best projects Koyama's overflowing pure passion, don't you agree? By the way it was stated in the character material released in 2006 that "Touko is 2 years older than Aoko", but with the release of the game various things were changed. In the most recent edition, the age difference is 4 years. But she is still young. For those who want to see an adult Touko please switch to Kara no Kyoukai. The younger sister powers up as she ages, while the older one upgrades her version and rejuvenates herself. What is it with these sisters ?

Koyama's comment: When thinking about her circumstances I can't help but sympathise with her. But since she managed to rebuild her life from there, she is such a strong person. I enjoyed drawing her particular glasses on/off modes. I wanted to include more drawings in the game of before she cut her hair. The two sister's severed relationship might be conclusive, but I still want to see more dialogue between them. Her clothes were designed to be far from ordinary with an emphasis on sexiness and style, and seeming usable both indoors and outdoors. They definitely don't look very magus-like do they?

気が付けば型月伝奇フル出場の万能便利屋・橙子さんです。脚がエロい。もうなんなのこの人というぐらいエロい。こやま氏のたぎるピュアパッショ ンが最も投射されたデザインではないだろうか。また2006年に発表したキャラクターマテリアルの過去設定では『青子より二歳年上」とあった が、ゲーム化にともない色々変更。最新版では四歳年上に。でもまだまだヤングです。アダルトな橙子を見たい人は「空の境界」に移行してほしい。 妹はパワーアップすると年齢を積み、姉はバージョンアップすると若返る。なんだこの姉妹。

こやまひろかず
境遇を思うと同情を禁じ得ません。あれから人生立て直すんですから強い人ですね・・・。メガネ on/off の描き分けが楽しいキャラでした。 髪を切る前の絵含め、ゲーム中でもっと描きたかったキャラです。断絶は決定的なのかもしれませんが、姉妹の掛け合いはもっと見てみたいですね。 服は日常からかけ離れたエロかっこよさ重視で、かつ屋内外共用で使えるようデザインしてみました。魔術的なアレで絶対見えませんよ?

Nasu's comment: A still living, genuine phantasmal species. His origin itself was long long ago, but it wasn't until the 18th century that he fell as a droplet on the werewolf village. A two thousand year class vintage monster. He is the natural enemy of the magi of the Common Era. In a contest of pure magical energy, attacks may still work on him, but when it comes to magecraft, it'll be absolutely invalidated. He's a life-form that's sort of like a relative to Arcueid, so he has an aura similar to Arc. It is a bit boorish to mention it but he doesn't have the concept of gender. Although it is very unlikely, in the case that he found a partner, he would be able to freely choose his own gender to compliment theirs. It's just like the manga "They Were Eleven!"

Koyama's comment: As a werewolf, I drew various forms of him. Between the complete wolf form and bipedal form, Beo can transform on the spot into the most fitting form for the action that he wants to do. Just as humans don't put any conscious thought into moving each induvial finger when they eat food with chopsticks, if he wants to run he does it on 4 feet and if he wants to grab something he does it with his "hands". Conversely he's also able to consciously control them. Normal werewolves can't take the form of a full wolf and their transformation is slow. In Beo's opinion that's so half baked it's meaningless, and it's so funny to look at that it spoils his mood. That's all I know. His clothes are supposedly to Touko's taste.

まだ生きている生粋の幻想種。発生そのものは大昔で、雫として人狼の里にこぼれ落ちたのが十八世紀。二千年クラスのビンテージモンスター。 西暦以降の魔術師にとっては天敵で、純粋な魔力勝負ならまだ攻撃は通るが、魔術となると片っ端から無効化されてしまう。アルクェイドの親戚 みたいな生き物なので、なんとなくアルクに近い雰囲気に。語るのも野暮ではあるが、性別の概念はあまりなかった。まずあり得ない事だが、つ がいの相手を見つけた時、その生き物に合わせて性別を決めることも。「11人いる!」ですなー。

こやまひろかず
人狼ってことで、様々な形態を描きました。完全な狼形態から二足歩行形態の間でベオがとりたい行動に対して最適な形態に即座に変形します。 人が箸で食事する際、指一本一本をどう動かすかいちいち意識しないのと同様、走ろうと思えば四つ足に、何か捕まえようと思えば「手」に。逆 に意識してコントロールすることも可能。普通の人狼は完全な狼形態にはなれないし、変形も遅い。ベオに言わせると中途半端だしイミわかんな いwww見てると気分悪くなるよね wwwみたいな。以上うんちく。服は橙子さんの趣味という想定です。

Nasu's comment: He's is a young man that's pleasant to write about, that one. Pessimistic, socially righteous, a delinquent way of talking, but despite that he still seems like a prince. If you understand those 4 points, you'll get his personality. He has a bad mouth but his disposition is meticulous and rational. He won't hesitate to say that while the elite's ideas are good, the elite themselves are basically scum. Of course, Tobimaru himself is included among them. The reason I asked for him to have a coat like Detective Columbo is because I wanted him to be a handsome man who looked good even if he dressed sloppily, like a relic of the 80s. Even a woollen pink sweater would surely look good on him. He is just too handsome.

Koyama's comment: Although he's a sub-character, his design was unexpectedly a difficult one to settle on. Although his original Takeuchi design draft wasn't made public, it seems that it was something roughly like this. He had the combination of a well raised effeminate daintiness and a naughty wild side coexisting. In my opinion he is probably mentally mature without being distorted or unreasonable. I think his design turned out to be one that I couldn't have come up with alone. It appears that he forms quite the nice combination together with Soujuurou, I wonder if we will get to see more of their activities moving forward.

書いていて気持ちの良い男子、そのいち。厭世的、社会正義、ヤンキーロ調、でも王子様、の四点を押さえておけばまずブレない人物です。口は 悪いが性格はきめ細かく理性的。エリート思想を良しとしながらエリートは基本クズ、と公言してはばからない。無論、その中には薦丸自身も含 まれている。私服を刑事コロンボみたいなコートにしてもらったのは80年代の残滓というか、やぼったい恰好でも似合う美男子にしてほしかっ たから。きっとピンク色の毛糸のセーターを着ても似合う。まさにイケメンにかぎる。

こやまひろかず
サブキャラですが、思いの外デザインは難航しました。元々の武内デザイン原案は世に出てないはずですが、大体こんな感じとしてあったようです。 育ちのいい女性的な繊細さとヤンチャなワイルドさが同居しており、無理をしてる歪さはなくて多分精神的には成熟してるんだろうなと思います。 なかなか自分だけでは出てこないデザインになったと思います。草十郎とは良いコンビになるそうで、今後もっと活躍が見込めるのではないでしょ うか。

Nasu's comment: He is a young man that's pleasant to write about, that one. Stupid, a little sly, stupid, and a bad influence. If you understand those 4 points, you'll get his stupid personality. Later on he would become Makidera Kaede. Even if Aoko was to shoot him with a beam he would say: "What?! You aren't human after all prez?! Oh my God, for real stop shooting me with that beam!" and use his innate special skill to go through it and pretend that he didn't see it. Had this guy witnessed the magecraft battles of Aoko and Alice, "5. Mahoutsukai no Yoru/Misery" would have started. By the way, the Kumari family are his neighbours as they live next to him and to the horror of Kojika, they are actually childhood friends.

Koyama's comment: A disappointing character. His facial features are pretty good so if he were to shut up, he would probably be quite handsome. He is a character that I was relatively free to design so he was quite easy to draw. In that time period, I think that with a haircut like his, the teachers would have kept an eye on him, but at his core he's a pretty good guy (Laughs).

書いていて気持ちの良い男子、そのに。バカ、小狡い、バカ、悪友、の四点を押さえておけばまずブレようのないバカ。後の蒔寺楓である。とな りで青子がビーム撃っても「え、なに会長、やっぱり人間じゃなかった? うはっ、ビーム素で撃つとかマジやめてwwwww」と現実をスルーし て見なかった事にする特殊スキル持ち。こいつが青子と有珠の魔術戦を目撃していたら「5. 魔法使いの夜/惨」が始まっていたでしょう。ちなみ に隣の家は久万梨の家で、恐ろしい事に金鹿とは幼なじみ。

残念なキャラ。目鼻立ちははっきりしてるので黙ってればそれなりにイケメンなのでは。比較的自由にデザインできたので割と描き易いキャラで した。この時代こんな髪だと相当教員から睨まれていたと思いますが、根はいい奴っぽいですよね(笑)

Nasu's comment: Misaki Town's miracle. If she had any friendliness she could have aimed to be the best in the whole world. Her first name Kojika (meaning Golden Deer) was borrowed by her father from the name of Captain Drake's ship as he is a massive sea pirate fanatic. Soujuurou: "So are you a deer or are you a bear?" Kojika: "No, I'm a pelican." An exchange like that might have happened. When she comes home from her part time job at 11 P.M, she turns on the only lamp in the store and organises the messy cash register and makes entries in the account book for that day, such is her daily routine. To be blunt, if Kojika wasn't there that Chinese restaurant would have likely failed in the span of only one month. Because Kumari's mother passed away, Kojika has difficulty looking after her brothers. As such she has the status of a Mother-lite.

Koyama's comment: According to Tsukuri-san, the true heroine. Although her active roles are few. Because in the first place she is a character that didn't initially exist, she was the last one of the students to be designed. I think the last order was for her to be the picture perfect Tsundere without the Dere. She's a good character so I wanted her to be given more active roles. I had a lot of fun playing with the designs of her casual clothes and her Sweets Hearts version.

久万梨金鹿

三咲町の奇跡。愛想があれば天下を狙えた逸材。金鹿という名前は大の海賊マニアな父親がドレイク船長の船から拝借したとかなんとか。草十郎「それで、 君はクマなのかシカなのか、どっちなんだ?」 金鹿「- ペリカンよ」なんてやりとりがあったとかなかったとか。バイトから帰ってきた午後十一時、 店内で一つだけ電灯をつけて、ろくに整理できていないレジスターを整理、その日の会計帳簿をつけるのが日課。ぶっちゃけ、金鹿がいないとあの中 華飯店は一ヶ月で経営破綻するのであった。久万梨家は母親に先立たれている為、金鹿が兄たちの面倒を見ている。まさにミニおかん状態。

つくりさん曰く、真のヒロイン。でも活躍の場は少ない。そもそも当初はいなかったキャラなので、生徒達の中でデザインは最後でした。絵に描 いたようなツンデレキャラのデレなしで、というのが最終オーダーだったかと。良いキャラなのでもっと活躍させたかったですね。私服とスイー ツハーツ ver のデザインでは遊ばせてもらいました。

Nasu's comment: A staple of Type-Moon fiction, the Priest of the suspicious Church... Although one might say as a warrior-priest his disposition is completely different from Tsukihime's Ciel and Fate's Kirei and Caren. I gave Koyama-san his background setting which wasn't shown in the first episode, and he gave me various rough designs. Eiri is a product of the latter half of the 90s when I was wrote the original version of the story. Back then I was still devoted to the archetype of "transcendent strength with transcendent beauty" in characters. These days, such a straightforward approach is still valid, so I decided to keep his old setting. If Soujuurou has a wild beauty to him, then Eiri has something like a mechanical and stylish beauty to him. His turn to shine isn't in the first episode though!

Koyama's comment: The enigmatic Mr.Priest. He is surely hiding something under his cloak. His design was rejected many times. How about you quit the Church and try Shintoism or something? -I drew him with that kind of vibe. His design was another one that Nasu-san already had a mental image of in his mind, so we just settled on that. It seems that the true role of this person will be told in the story after this story.

型月伝奇の定番、怪しい教会の司祭さん。......といっても月姫のシエル、Fateの言峰、カレンとはまったく毛色の違う武人系神父です。一話では 語られない経歴をこやまさんに提出したところ、様々なラフデザインがあげられました。旧版を書いていた90年代後半、まだ“超絶美形で超絶強い" 人物に傾倒していた頃の産物。いまならそういうド直球の立ち回りもアリなので、あえて旧設定のまま通してみました。草十郎が野生の美しさなら、 詠梨は機械的かつスタイリッシュな秀麗さ、みたいな。一話じゃ出番ないけどネ!

こやまひろかず
謎の神父さん。マントの下にきっとなにか隠してます。没が多いですね。教会はやめて神道とかどうよ?みたいなノリで描いてみたり。 これも奈須さんにもともとのイメージがあったようで、それに落ち着いた形となります。この人も真の活躍はこの物語以降のお話となりますね。

Nasu's comment: She is the person with the most common sense in the world and at the same time she is the one who usually ends up with the short end of the stick. Due to my bias of nuns being physical labourers never changing, Sister Yuika is the same archetype as Ciel. Thus she has become the "Level up until you can destroy the laws of physics" kind of person. I have no regrets. Her original concept was that of a female doctor on the battlefield... or perhaps I should say a Nightingale who's become stained by blood while pinning down struggling soldiers, gouging, picking, and binding their wounds. Aside from her being a Sadist or not, her lack of visual information makes it difficult for her to sympathize with the pain of others.

Koyama's comment: The blind and very scary Sister. The younger twin sister. Her setting changed so many times that I don't remember much of it anymore. But the fact that she is blind never changed. The design with the empty eyes was supposed to be Ritsuka's. Based on the settings from back then, I thought they looked exactly alike. That appearance was then given to Yuika, and a brand new design was later made for Ritsuka. I wanted to show her wearing casual clothes too.

いちばんの常識人、かつ、わりを食らっている人。シスターといったら肉体労働という奈須きのこの偏見は留まるところを知らず、シスター唯架 もシエルと同系列の“レベルをあげて物理で殴れ”系の立ち位置になってしまった。反省はしていない。もとのイメージは戦場の女医・・・・・・という かナイチンゲールで、血まみれになりながら暴れる兵隊さんを押さえつけ、傷をえぐったりほじくったりしばったりして治療する。ドSかどうか はともかくとして、彼女は視覚情報がないため、他者の痛みに感情移入しづらいのです。

盲目のとても怖いシスター。双子姉妹の妹の方。設定が二転三転してもう良く覚えてません。盲目というのはずっと変わってなかったはず。目が 空いてるのは律架のつもりでデザインしたもので、その頃の設定では容姿はそっくりだったかと。その容姿は唯架に踏襲され、律架は新規デザイ ンとなりました。私服姿も出したかったですね。

Nasu's comment: A useless human with a peaceful heart, and the one among the Suse twin sisters to live a comfortable life. She originally came from a good family of the Church, but at an early stage she decided to switch sides to the Mages Association, and has been active as a double agent ever since. She herself doesn't have a favourite and thus doesn't care which one gets the upper hand. Based on her mood on that day, she changes her appearance and strolls around the shopping street. Actually, she is a resident of the apartment that Soujuurou used to rent. She is Yuika's older sister, but has none of the dignity that should come with such a role. She is expected by the staff to play the role of a "Kohaku-type woman" in the future or something.

Koyama's comment: Unbelievable, to think that she would become such a disappointing older sister type character...the oldest of the twin sisters. Well, at least she became a pleasant character. I will never forget her brilliant style in the bonus scenario. I wonder if this person also wears nun clothing. They are fraternal twins, so their appearance is different. Mainly in terms of style. Although, this person also has good style doesn't she?

安心のダメ人間、周瀬姉妹の人生を楽に生きている方。もとは教会側の家柄だったが、何を思ったか早い段階で魔術教会に鞍替えし、以後は二重 スパイとして活躍している。本人もどっちが本命なのか、もうどうでもよくなっているとのこと。その日の気分で変装しては商店街を闊歩している。 実は草十郎が以前借りていたアパートの住人。唯架の姉ではあるが、姉としての威厳は皆無。スタッフからは『コハッキー系の女』として今後の 活躍を期待されているとかなんとか。

まさか、こんな残念なお姉さんキャラになるとは...双子姉妹の姉の方。ま一愉快なキャラにはなりました。おまけシナリオでの輝きっぷりは忘れ ません。この人も修道服は着るのかな。二卵性なので容姿は異なります。主にスタイルとか。この人もスタイル良いのですけどね。

Nasu's comment: A character that I don't have much to say about. Of course it's natural since she showed up in the extra chapter "You absolutely can't laugh in the Kuonji Mansion" which happens in the fall after Aoko and the others became third year students. What happened in Misaki city and the Kuonji mansion between January and August, right now I can't talk about it. Either way, when I gave Mr. Koyama an order to come up with a girl that would look good in Hot Pink, he came up with the ideal type in one shot. When she is added to the regular cast those extraordinarily noisy days will become an everyday occurrence.

Koyama's comment: Pink. She made a sudden appearance in the extra chapter. Her initial concept was similar to a Vocaloid, singing with twin tails and knee high socks. She is a character with mood swings who has a lot of extreme ups and downs. According to a certain reliable source, from now on she will have live show scenes, so I hope you don't mind. I came up with her design relatively early on, so I'm sure there's a setting where she removes her jacket or something. There's something of a gap between her droopy eyes and her strong willed words and actions. There sure are a lot of female characters with harsh words and actions aren't there?

多くは語れないキャラ。番外編で当然のように出てくるが、「絶対に笑ってはいけない久遠寺邸」は青子たちが三年生になってから秋の話。1月か ら8月までの間、三咲町と久遠寺邸に何があったか、今は語る事ができない。 とにかくショッキングピンクの似合う女の子、というオーダーをこやま氏にお願いしたところ、ほぼ一発で理想型がでてきました。彼女を加えた レギュラーキャラが揃うと番外編のような騒がしい日々が日常になる。

こやまひろかず
ピンク。おまけシナリオのみの唐突な登場。ツインテニーソで唄うたいという、何そのボーカロイドっていう初期コンセプト。躁鬱という設定で 浮き沈みの激しいキャラです。今後ライブシーンあるよとか偉い人が言うんですけど勘弁して欲しいです。割と初期段階で考えたデザインなので 上着脱いだ設定とかしっかりありますね。ややたれ目気味ですが気の強い言動というギャップを少々。つか言動のきつい女性キャラ多くないですか。

Nasu's comment: This is the adults group. Yamashiro-sensei is the "He looks reliable at first glance but now that I look closely at him, this guy isn't trustworthy at all!" kind of teacher who goes along his own pace. The old man Tokitsu was designed as a fun retired old man. Yamashiro-sensei's "You can do anything as long it has no risk to me" is an example of his broad-mindedness. Tokki's "A gentleman doesn't care about how the world views him, Alice. By the way, mass media should die!!" is an example of his youthful purity. I like both of them. ...After commenting, I now realized that there actually are no decent adults in Mahoyo.

Koyama's comment: Yamashiro-sensei is probably as mean as he looks. I thought of making a naughty looking version of him too. I thought it would be interesting to see he and Aoko argue back and forth in this version. Old man Tokitsu was the last character to get his standing up sprites drawn. I designed with the concept of him being something of an artist. He too seems to be a child in the inside. I wonder if his sparkling eyes ran out or something. But he can't get understood by the people around him, so everyone including him has a hard time, that sort of thing.

山城和樹 & 土桔由里彦

大人組ですね。山城先生は“一見頼りになりそうだけど、よく見るとコイツまったく頼りにできない”というマイペース教師。土桔老人は楽しい ご隠居としてデザインしてもらいました。山城先生の“僕にリスクがないかぎりは何をしてもいいですよ”という懐の深さ。トッキィーの“紳士 は世間の目なんて気にしないものなんだアリス。ところでマスコミは死ねばいい!!"という少年らしい純粋さ。 どちらもお気に入りです。・・・・・・コメントしておいてなんなんですが、まほよにまともな大人はいない事実に今さら気付かされました。

山城先生はま一腹黒いでしょうね、見た目通り。ヤンチャ ver とかも考えてました。こちらはこちらで青子とのやり取りがおもしろそうではあり ます。土結のじいさんは最後に滑り込ませたキャラ立ち絵でした。芸術家肌というコンセプトでデザインしました。この人も中身は子供のままっ ぽそう。目とかきらっきらさせてるんだろうなーとか。でも周りから理解を得られず、自身も周りも苦労するとか、そういう。

Q: Regarding Kotomine Kirei's life, could you disclose more details? Such as at what age did he graduate from the seminary, and at what age did he become an Executor.

A: Because of his father, Risei, Kotomine had been working diligently as an Executor-in-training since an early age. He entered the seminary at the age of 22. In the same year, he received a second baptism to graduate from a trainee to a full Executor who could operate independently. However, while performing his duty of judging heretics, he married. Kotomine voluntarily left his position in the seminary, and abandoned the path of becoming an official priest. After the death of his wife, he worked for the Assembly of the Eighth Sacrament, concentrating on training as an Executor. At the age of 28, he lost his father Risei, and was given the position of a priest, albeit unofficially.

妻の死後、第八秘蹟会に席を置き、代行者としての修練に専念。28歳の時、父・璃正を失い、非公式ではあるが司祭職を与えられた。

ちなみにエルメロイ二世はいかつい頬でロン毛という玄人好みのルックスになりますが、いつも不機嫌そうな顔で実際、不機嫌。弟子たちへの悪態は尽きることありませんが、メチャクチャ面倒見がいい「デレ期のないツンデレ先生」と言われている。
一方、エルメロイ教室に入らざるを得なくなったニホンの魔術師(ミニスカニーソ、黒髪、赤い服)は、弟子入り半年間はエルメロイ二世の悪態指導にうんざりしたものの、「あれ、この人ツンデレじゃなくて、単に超生真面目で実力主義者で厭世家で、おまけに正義の人なだけじゃないの?」と気がついたとかなんとか。

A:すまない。きのこの脳にはロボット分が致命的に足りないんだ。でもやるなら、舞台は宇宙開拓時代。主人公はとある辺境の星(基本人類はダイナソー型)で、しがない工場をきりきりしている整備士(ヒューマノイド型人類)。恐竜型人類が闊歩している星で機械はあんまり意味がない(恐竜人類のポテンシャルスゲーので)のだが、ほそほそとした需要があるので、それなりに満足した整備士ライフを送っている。
そんなおり、新しい生存可能惑星が銀連によって発見されるも、主要国家の勢力圏の狭間にあるため、あらゆる惑星国家が利権を主張。星間戦争を避けるため、極めて平和的な解決として代理闘争としてのロボットによる競争……“おれんとこの文明が一番高度なんだから、開拓は俺たちに任せろって話(通称フロンティア・ワン)”……的なロボット大戦が始まろうとした。
「また物騒な話になってきたな、でもヴィナスフォートの四十八式飛躍相転移エンジンとかマジ見たいな」などと放送を流し聞いていた主人公の工場裏手に流星が飛来。爆炎を背後に、煤だらけのドレス姿で現れた少女は大声を上げる。
「ここにろぼっとはあるか!?」
「あるのなら一番強いのをいただこう!」

A: Regression to the Age of Gods represents the extend at which they are capable of reproducing the Mysteries that existed on Earth before True Magic. Consider it to be like that, their own style of Magical Circuits. Quality represents "how distant from what humans are capable of" their pure Mysteries are. Quantity represents power. The higher the quantity, the greater the degree of influence over the surrounding environment. Since Beowulf only has a quantity of C, he can only display his power to an individual, or over a village.
Composition represents the era of the "Mystery". In terms of magecraft, it would be like Rune, Kabbalah, Black Magic and such.
Ploys are not of Age of Gods, so they cannot be assigned a number in Regression to the Age of Gods.
For Arcueid... Princess Arcueid should qualify. "Quality: B Quantity: A++ Composition: Before Common Era, pseudo-deified natural phenomenon"

編成はどのくらいの年代の神秘を為せるか、というもの。魔術でいうならカバラや黒魔術か......という種別です。
プロイは神代のものではないので「神代回帰」の測定は当てはまりません。
アルクは......姫アルク状態ならアリ。「質:B 量:A++ 編成:西暦以前までの、擬神化される自然現象」といったところ。

A: Not just when they have a physical body, the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception are effective even when they're in spiritual bodies. For Shiki [Ryougi], if the opponent can be recognized as "living" (not "life", but "live"), she can see the lines of death. For example, the ghosts in Overlooking View were dead, but they were "living" in the sense that they can interfere with the current world.
Also, why she didn't succeed against the Sarira in Araya's arm is because it belonged to an enlightened one who achieved "becoming extinguished, alive." To kill it by the lines of death means she has to decipher advanced "lines of death" levels higher than the normal concept of death. But what's sad about bones is that rather than having to do that, they'll turn into ash if you burn them. If you have time to be using Death spells, level up and beat it physically.

A: Basically it is a transportation method involving using magical energy as fuel. Within it, there is the Jet Method, which achieves maximum air speed transiently. There is also the low-cost Ether Sail method. The current new method of transportation involves planting a magical anchor at the destination, and the magus will be pulled toward it, like being pulled by a retracting elastic band. This is the Anchor Attraction Ascension method designed by Touko Aozaki (Patented, commonly referred to as "Touko Travel").
... Although Touko was only half-serious there, broom is still a Mystery that is supported by "Magic Foundation - Black Magic" over the entire world. A: That's in the story of Melty Blood Re-Act. Reality Marble is not the alteration of things or events, but overwriting (covering). Thus, what White Len said is possible. It is like overwriting existing field effect with another one. However, even if the field is changed, whether Arcuied's support would be severed depends on "what power is used to construct the boundary field". If an alien deployed the Reality Marble, then Arcueid's support may be completely cut off.
By the way, a Dream Boundary Field at Len's level will just make Arcueid say "O? I will get serious now!", and then she will blow it away in one shot after requesting the Planet's support. It is like an even greater world emerging from underneath the overwritten world. Simply put, White Len is but a clown.... sad... real sad.

ただし地形が替わっても、”何をエネルギーとして結界を張っているのか”によって、アルクェイドへの供給を断てるかどうかは変わってきます。宇宙人が固有結界を張れば、アルクェイドも完全にエネルギー供給は絶たれるかもかも。
余談ではありますが、白レン程度の夢結界じゃあ、アルクが「はんと?じゃあ本気出す!」と星からのバックアップ要請をあげたら結界ごとあっさり吹き飛びます、白レンが。上書きした世界の下から、もこもことさらに巨大な世界がわき上がってくるワケですな。つまり白レンはピエロ......憐れ......憐れ......。

From Zelretch's perspective, Nagato was but a follower whom he looked out for every now and then. ....They met during a journey, and Zelretch taught Nagato something as payment for the hotel bill. The Half-Bloods were no longer worshiped because the existence of the nation, so they compromised with the human society and became organized. They skillfully brought those in positions of power to their cause, and became the ones in power.

 トップをねらえ2の四巻とアンダーザローズ三巻の面白さに死ぬ。
 うかうかしてたらもう十一月も中盤です。
 昼休みにゲーム屋へGO。店頭で餓狼伝か男塾かを悩む。
 結局、タンバと巨凶というキャッチコピーに負けて餓狼伝に。
 えー、タイプムーンは今週まるまるスタッフ休暇なワケですがなんで僕事務所にいるんだろうおっかしいなあ。こんなんじゃ積みゲー七人衆を半分もやっつけられないですよ。
(現在三体撃破。あやかしびと、ワンダ、スワン。さて、次なる相手は―――……って、もう休み終わりですかそうですか)

 それじゃちょっと裏話。以下ネタバレ風味。今回は小ネタを集めた。

 ホロウにおける「決戦」を最後まで見て勘の良い人なら気が付いたと思うのですが、ステイナイトにおけるOPのモノローグって士郎じゃなくてあいつのものなのですよ。
 いつか誰かが気が付くかなー、と思ったらスタッフ内でも「あ、そうなんすか」と軽く流されたので、あー、やっぱり分からないよなそんなの、と思い今回釈明の機会をゲットしました。

 ウインチェスター事件は序盤のミスリード用に作られたエピソードで、なぜ何でもアリの状況なのか、という理由の着眼点をまずはこっちに向けさせておいて……というギミックでした。
 余裕があったらイクリプスに出現し、宝石剣が爆発して色んな童話・寓話と融け合ったイリヤ城の中心から脱出する、というアリスインワンダーランド&キューブみたいな話をやる予定だったのです。(まるっきりフォレストだな!)
 もちろんエロで。これは男女一組バカップルになりつつ童話をなぞらえる事で脱出できる、というルールを看破するお嬢様がた。脱出(カップル成立)できるのは一組だけ。生還を望むのなら、汝、自らの誇りをかけて最愛を証明せよ―――みたいな。
 士郎だけがルールに気付かなくて、士郎は一生懸命まじめにキューブ(タイムリーに言うならSAW2か)ごっこするのですが、ルールに気付いたお嬢様がたは各々黙ったままで恋の鞘当てをするのは楽しそうだなあ、と。そーゆー限定条件なら真面目なキャラでも面白いHシーンが展開できると野望に燃えたものですが、それはすでに一本のゲームではないのか、と気が付いてお蔵入りに。
 当然没になったのですが、せめてその芸風の一環として『間桐家の人々』ではっちゃけてみました。せっかく背景CGが山ほどあるんだから、ビジュアルノベルならではの異次元世界(切り貼りしたい放題サ)をやりたかったんでしょうね。スタッフの労力も考えず。ごめんBLACKさん、もう追加シナリオとか言わないよ!
 あ、名前の由来はあのウインチェスター邸からです。興味ある人は調べてみれば、「ああ、こういう舞台の脱出ものをしたかったのね」と一発で分かります。

 あとわくわくざぶーんは出来上がったものをヤツが強引に買い取ったんだよ。

そして遂にチュンソフトさんの新作「428」での、TM担当部分の情報がオープンになりました。
「魔法使いの夜」制作に入る前に仕込んだ仕事では、これが最後の隠し球となります。
“隠し要素としてTMさんのパートをいれてみないか? 街における青虫編みたいな”
と声をかけていただいて、サウンドノベルへのご恩返しとして尽力させていただきました。あくまでオマケみたいなものなので、するっと気軽に考えていただければ幸いかと。
自分も、一サウンドノベルファンとして発売を楽しみにしています。

さて。
ここから未来福音のネタバレというか、小話を一つ。
DDDの読者さん的には「ん?」と思うギミックがありましたが、DDDと空の境界はまったく繋がっておりません。
あくまで、DDDでいうところの「相手を自分の脳に閉じこめる」という悪魔憑きを、空の境界のルールに落とし込むとどうなるか……という比較なのでした。
相手を取り込むって、つまりこういうコトだよね、という。

そして来週、いよいよメルブラAA稼働!
何人かのシナリオを重ねていかないと話の全体像が見えない作りになっていますが、まあ、やってるコトはいつもの型月伝奇です。

ええと、昔スタッフ座談会できのこさんが"マーブル"はダンゴ現象に由来していると言ってまし た。
ダンゴ現象っていうのは、例えば0と1がそれぞれ50%の確率で出現する場において、そのどちらか一方がた またま何度も連なって出現する現象…なんだろうか?
あまり詳しくないのでもしかしたら間違ってるかもしれません。
まあともかく、どちらかが連なってダンゴみたく見えるからダンゴ現象、なのかも。
要するに、前述の0と1が50%…というのは自然な状態ですよね。で、その自然法則に支配された状況下にお いても、ダンゴ現象のようにまるで人の手が加わってるのではと疑ってしまうような状況が起こり うる。
なら空想具現化や固有結界というのは世界に直結する事によりあらゆる事象が発生する確率に干渉し、それによ って偶然中の偶然とも言える事象を意図的に発生させるというものなのではないかな、と。
例えば本当に偶然と偶然が重なり合って生み出された、まるで人工物のように見える自然物というのも存在して います。なら確率に干渉すればブリュンスタッド城みたいなものを具現化できても不思議はないかもしれません 。

It was quite difficult to decide.
Someone had said "Isn't Aristoteles good enough?" but I didn't like that personally.
This is about the Aristoteles from Note. but that naming for me was a case of youthful indiscretion.
Then, since we were going for something related to Note. anyway:
"...Actually, about that story, just before the last part Type-Moon's identity will be revealed.
Also, the Knight Arm it has is called Real of the World(True World)."
I revealed this material I had been keeping secret, then we decided that in this case Type-Moon would be good.

I'm asking this here since it's a bit of a spoiler.
The complete edition of Kara no Kyōkai coming out at the winter comiket is going to have errors corrected,
but does that include changes to the setting as well?
(For example, in Tsukihime the succession of the Fujou main family is done through the passing down of techniques,
while in Kyōkai it is determined by blood.)

Kinoko:
I'll answer that!
Regarding the Fujou, the setting isn't quite the same.
Though Rakkyo and Tsukihime have a lot of points in common, there are a few tiny differences in the details.
One of those is the Fujou. In reality they're actually ESP users like the Asagami, Ryougi, and Nanaya. But in Rakkyo they are a magi lineage.
Other than that... oh, right, there's Aoko's age. If Rakkyo and Tsukihime were the same world then Aoko would only be a little bit older than Tohno Shiki. The Aoko in Rakkyo has not yet gained the title of "Miss Blue", and is still training in Misaki Town.
It's probably best to think of it as subtly shifted parallel worlds.

ここで、ネタバレっぽい質問になるのですが、
冬コミ発売の『空の境界』完全版では加筆修正が
行われるということですが、修正部分は設定も含めるのでしょうか?
(例:月姫では巫浄本家の継承は技術の伝承で行われていたが、
境界では、血統により継承がおこなわれていたフシがある点)

きのこ:
オコタエシマス、カタカタ。
巫浄に関しての設定は微妙に異なるのです。
何かと類似点が多い「らっきょ」「月姫」ですが、細かい所で異なる部分があります。
その一つが巫浄。実際、浅神、両儀、七夜は超能力に類する物ですが、「らっきょ」の巫浄は魔術師の家系です から。
他には……そうですねー、青子の年齢とか。「月姫」と「らっきょ」がまったく同じ世界だとすると、青子って 志貴よりちょい年上なだけになってしまいます。「らっきょ」での青子さんはまだミス・ブルーなんて呼ばれて おらず、三咲町で修行中だったり。
微妙にズレた平行世界、とでも思っていただければ幸いかと。

Shirou: When I think of it that way, it sorts of calms me down. I get uneasy in this kind of night...

Kiritsugu: I see.... Can't really blame you for that...

Shirou: Gramps.... How much longer should I take in this medicine?

 Kiritsugu: Well, once you are old enough to attend Middle school you won't be needing that anymore. Until then, bear with it, will you?

Kiritsugu: The healing spell I used on you 2 years ago... Seems to be a little too strong for you. The danger still lurks within you, Shirou. Until you grow up and let your body put on some more antibodies, you will have to rely on this medicine.

Shirou: Why!? I need that! 'Cause I still can see that dream... Even though 2 years have passed.... I still can't get over it... Since you have trained me I won't lose to anyone in fights and I'm not even afraid of my upperclassmen. But.... Once I see that dream.... Even when I wake up, everyone's still looks pale... Kiritsugu: Whoa, you got stronger, Taiga-chan. You can’t call that level that of a high-schooler anymore!

Taiga: Oh, not at all! There’s still a long way ahead of me! I still have a lot of flaws here and there and that is why I never stopped training up myself every day!

Kiritsugu: Oh, for real? You have already reached to a level so high that I see no point for you to keep me as a training partner. You won’t gain anything from sparring with people like me anymore, do you?

Taiga: Hmm…. Kiritsugu, you look as if you are always spacing out but from the way I see it, you seem to be hiding something that I don’t possess somehow. And hence, the reason why I asked you for a sparring session is because you never cease to amaze me with new discoveries within every single seconds of our spar! I’m learning something new every time!

Kiritsugu: Heh, I find it scary instead when you put it that way. A man who just got dropped out from life like me would only be a bad example, wouldn’t I?

Sooner or later, the era of ‘King’ is coming soon and Shirou will definitely have no problem in looking for a wife!

Kiritsugu: Well, truth to be told, that actually helped me a lot though. The fact that he’s taking on the cooking in my stead…

Taiga: Yes! It’s always good to find one’s specialty! I think he’s too desperate sometimes but… But it doesn’t change the fact that it really did save us from troubles! But now that we think about it, how did he become so good in cooking? What exactly is the difference between me and Shirou? Patience? Our strive for perfection? Or the fact that he properly tastes his own food? What’s the ABC of cooking anyway?

Kiritsugu: By the way, Taiga-chan. Not really to continue our topic… But can you think of this as a game and try answering a few of my questions? Just like how you give advises to your juniors and friends.

Taiga: Hmmm… That is not a rare case to be honest. There are quite a lot of freshman that tried to enter our club with that kind of motive.

Kiritsugu: And there’s the twist…. There’s a real katana reachable within his hands at his home. The administration are so loose that he can take it out just about any time. If you carelessly teach him Kendo, he might just use that katana and hurt somebody one day. So what do you think?

Taiga: Hmmmmm….. So this kind of questions are only based on situation where options like ‘locking up the katana in a locker’ or ‘throwing away the katana’ are not allowed right? It’s just an instance to see how I would respond as an advisor or a Kendo club member right?

Kiritsugu: Yup. Exactly. You absorbed real quick, eh?

Taiga: Ohohohoho it’s quite hard to do it if you already compliment me before I have even started. Ahem, let’s see… An insolent pupil who harbours an ulterior motive in pursuing the path of swordsman but with a really sincere and pure wish to get stronger… Can’t say I don’t know how he feels. Hmm… Even if I reject him he might just pursue Online Lessons or even resort to even worse methods… Hmmm. Welp, I guess I’ll just teach him Kendo first!

Kiritsugu: Hmm?

Taiga: BUT!! Only the swings! And I will never allow him to learn any footworks or do any sparring at all! Nothing but only swinging! I will make him swing 10 sets of 100s even during rainy days, windy days, EVERYDAY BEFORE AND AFTER HE SLEEPS!

Kiritsugu: Is that…..even Kendo?

Taiga: Nope. I will just teach him some nonsensical essence of Kendo. PAM PAM! I will only make him focus on swinging shoulders and tell him to imagine swinging towards a grandma’s shoulder, massaging her and I will teach him the worst way to handle a Shinai where it’d fall off every time even when he swings seriously.

Kiritsugu: Ahah…. I see what you did there.

Taiga: If we make him practice so much of nonsense, no joy but only misery, plus 0 signs of getting stronger. So long he’s not a massive idiot, he’d definitely give up. And I bet he’d say something like ‘Kendo is useless’. Then that’d make him understand that swords will never bring him any good and case closed. But then… if he started thinking like ‘If sword can’t do it, then I’ll go for guns’ and went astray, then that’d be outside the concern of a Kendo practitioner and then I’ll have to look at the case from the perspective of Fuyuki’s justice but that’d beat the purpose of this question, wouldn’t it?

Kiritsugu: Hmm true that. To be honest, that was a really unexpected answer… Which means that you’d ‘deceive’ him, huh?

Taiga: Plus, it is fraudulent of that kid to pursue the path of sword for the sole purpose of getting stronger. It is a deception to let him realize of his own mistake, a very sincere lie.

 Kiritsugu: Taiga-chan…. If…. Just an example--- What if, that boy just now actually believed in every single words you said, and yet you don’t want to betray his trust. In that case, would you still use the same method?

Taiga: Though it pains my heart, in order to stir him off his misconceptions, we’d have to let him walk through the wrong path, and let him foresee the answer of the path he has taken. I think that is the shortest way for him to clear his misconceptions. Plus, you don’t really find any pupils that’d just listen to your lectures or naggings by heart.

Kiritsugu: So that’d mean all the time and passion he had invested to that nonsensical Kendo will be nothing but a waste of time… huh?

Taiga: Yes, it’s fine that way. Just think of that as a tuition fee---- Oooooh, I mean, wasting your time is what they meant by youth after all.

Kiritsugu: Heh, I see. But… What if… That boy still didn’t know of the mistake until the end… What would you do?

Taiga: If that is so, then that’d be yet again, a very amazing thing to witness. I think I might praise him instead.

Kiritsugu: Why would you say so?

Taiga: Because that’d mean that the boy had invested all his time and passion on some nonsense and saw through it till the end, right? That it’d mean what he has been practicing is no longer a nonsense but rather, he has mastered a whole new path different from that of a Kendo. That boy will become a charismatic figure that developed a swinging technique that tests one’s undying will.

Kiritsugu: impressed

Taiga: If he has become such a figure then it’d be rather strange for him to even think of hurting someone else. I’m pretty sure he won’t harbour any ill feelings towards his Master that thought him such a ‘nonsense’. Everything will be fine in the end!

Kiritsugu: Hmph… Taiga-chan, you sure are amazing. You really are something.

Taiga: Heheheheheh, Awwwww stop it you! I’m the type that’d fly sky high if you compliment me too much! If I get anymore carried away longer at this rate, I might just get a teaching license, ya know!? What’d you do if that happens!?

We do not live by the living, we live by death. Magecraft is something that destroys oneself from the inside. There’s no other way around. What I’m going to teach you, is something that would stir more conflicts than not. And so… never use it in front of others and it’s also quite difficult so you should take the practice seriously.

Kiritsugu: Welp, even though I just said that, those are not the important part of it. If situation calls for it, you can just break those rules when necessary.

Shirou: W-what do you mean by that?

Kiritsugu: The most important part of a magecraft is…. You musn’t use it for your own sake. You can only use it for other’s sake. With that, Shirou…. You may be able to use magecraft but you will never become a magus.

Shirou: I see…. It sounds complicated but I more or less understand now. I never wanted to be a Magus, I just wanted to learn magecraft from you, gramps. So I’m fine! I’ll listen to what you have said.

Kiritsugu: Good. Welp… Let us start from the basic of the basic. The creation of your Magic Circuit. We will first make a line to allow mana to flow through your body. This is different from your nervous system that you are born with but rather, it is something that you don’t have in the first place. This is where you project and image of your entire body, from your organs, to your fingers, to every single nails, even to every strand of your hair, and manipulate them. You must learn to retain that level of focus concentration first.

 Kiritsugu: Well, of course. That is because you gotta rework your body into the equipment to use magecrafts. Imagine you surpassing yourself, and break through your limits. Shirou, this is a battle for you to surpass yourself.

Shirou: Un. If it’s that so, I will never lose. I will try my best.

Kiritsugu: The self-assurance required to draw an image. You better think of a word that’d become a trigger to raise your concentration level to the maximum. Just like how you push a button or turn on a switch, you need that one word that can flip your consciousness around. You need that one strong word.

Shirou: Is that something like…. A magic spell?

Kiritsugu: Well, not too far off. A spell not meant for anyone else. A spell that only has a meaning for you yourself. A word that would motivate you deep in your heart. Some phrase that’d strike a deep impression for you.

Shirou: Hmm… I see… Hmm…. It still didn’t come to me somehow.

Kiritsugu: You don’t need to scratch your head over it. You just need a very persuasive word for yourself and only you yourself. Project and image of your own body, and declare your virtual consciousness. Your double, as if you are going to trace it, and look around it.

Shirou: ‘Trace’?

Kiritsugu: It means to copy something, I guess..?

Shirou: Just like how you push a button…. Just like how you press a switch… To trace yourself…

Kiritsugu: Yep…. You don’t need to rush your decisions now. Think about it carefully.

Shirou: Understood….. ‘Trace’…… Trace, huh?

Urobuchi: I don't know a lot about it, I'm not involved. But if I remember correctly it's an Unlimited Blade Works adaption.

Summary of unsorted interview notes from various magazines including Comptiq and Newtype:

- The ligh novel was greenlit by Nasu, as supervisor, Higashide as writter and Konoe as illustrator art.
- David, St.George, Kintoki Sakata & Musashibo Benkei were scrapped by Kinoko Nasu’s idea.
- Nasu said these servants doesn’t fit into plot and they were replaced by four new servants instead.
- Chiron, Avicebron & Achilles were designed by Takeuchi & Nasu, illustrated by Konoe in charge of character design.
- Mordred is the culture of festival achievement thanks from TYPE MOON fanbase.
- Addition of Mordred into F/A was Takeuchi’s idea and Nasu agreed.
- Mordred was orginally to be male but Nasu feel that having two male characters look feminine (the other being Astolfo) would be too much.
- However, Mordred as a male was not Nasu’s claim of actual fact. In truth, Nasu didn’t decided for final Mordred’s gender since Fate/Stay Night until Fate/Apocrypha. Which mean Mordred was “genderless” in F/SN.
- After the project of online game was scrapped, Nasu said that all servants are too ridiculous powerful and might bored if the player’s powerful servant was facing against other player’s powerful servant. It’s like a hax.
- The online game was based on Infamous 2’s gameplay style.
- Nasu & Takeuchi were laughing about more Saber clone. In fact, Mordred is the real clone of Saber (Artoria), so the wish has come true for those people who still saying about Saber clone.
- Karna is Nasu’s favorite servant. Karna’s popularity has been skyrocket thanks to Fate/EXTRA CCC.
- Astolfo is Konoe’s favourite servant. He is symbol mascot of Fate/Apocrypha. Higashide can’t even tell if this is comfortable or not since Astolfo is dude.
- Yggdmillennia, Sisigou & Kotomine Shirou were planned by Nasu, Takeuchi & Higashide.
- Higashide wrote all Sisigou, Reika & Black camp’s character development, while Homunculus, Kotomine Shirou & four new servants’s character development was already written by Nasu.
- Nasu said that Shirou is basically a character who look to have “light outside and darker inside” personality. Uncanny different trait from Kirei.
- Homunculus (Sieg) was Nasu & Takeuchi’s idea. Nasu wanted introduce male homunculus in Fate series for the first time.
- Takeuchi & Konoe said Homunculus looks cute but dense person.
- Takeuchi stated Homunculus & Jeanne are his new favorite characters, along with Artoria.
- Interviewer mention about why Takeuchi like Homunculus. He reply "It’s a secret" due it will trigger the spoiler.
- Jeanne is based on real french student girl according to Takeuchi. She was at same college where Takeuchi studied, before he met someone as model of Arcueid Brunestud’s design from Tsukhime come to his mind.
- The difference between Artoria & Jeanne is sex appeal. Which is already explained in TYPE MOON April Fool 2012, where Heroine X (Artoria) in furious when she heard that Jeanne’s sex appeal is better than her.
- Tsukihime is Higashide’s favorite visual novel.
- Nasu stated homunculus like Mordred can summoned as Heroic Spirit despite not human being.
- The rules of magecraft in Apocrypha universe are same as in Fate/Stay Night & Fate/Zero except that there is no rule of Ruler classes.
- Ruler’s duty is protect the Holy Grail and oversee the battle.
- Interviewer asked Nasu & Higashide about why Jeanne hijack Leticia’s body rather than ritual summon. Nasu stated it was something broke the rule of HGW and corrupted the system.
- Nasu mention the first servant who hijack human body is Avenger, Angra Mainyu from Fate/Hollow Ataraxia. Who control Emiya Shirou’s body and mind since he has no body but void form. The theory that come from Rin Tohsaka was correct.
- Roa from Tsukihime was also can hijack the human body (Ciel & Tohno SHIKI) but reincarnation soul while he was in Akasha.
- Nasu & Higashide admit it was silly idea in the first place. But they wanted Jeanne to have some disadvantages/weakness for herself due she was powerful servant and might kinda “boring” if she summoned as spirit form. (Avoid fan calling her a mary sue).
- Which mean any servant can hijack the human body while in critical condition but it's rarely.
- Karna’s background story has been altered in comparison to his original myth in Mahabrarat. This means, Karna is Nasu!Karna, not Myth!Karna which we know.
- The rule of summoning Ruler is who can guide the war during in his/her past and a sainthood(?) as specific condition. Only one Ruler class is summoned in one war. The this system works in Apocrypha universe only.
- St.George was remove because of this. Karna, however he refuse refer himself a saint and a killing machine who can kill God, summoned as Lancer class instead.
- The Greater Grail force summon the servant as Ruler when met the condition completed.
- If Jeanne is summoned in different universe without rules of Ruler, her class will be obviously Saber. She still will be summoned as Ruler if the mishap of war affected the result in different universe.
- Jeanne was first mention in Kara no Kyoukai’s light novel reference: Mikiya Kokutou mentions her when he was discussing about Heroic Spirits who utilized the power of the Counter Force.
- While the design for Jeanne wasn’t made during the production of the Fate/Zero novels, the design was completed around the time of the anime adaptation.

Q: How strong are Servants?
Nasu: Well you see, attack power is about the same as one fighter. A fighter has way too much power for one person too stand up against, but to destroy one city they'll have to refuel many times. But what makes these guys dangerous is that since they're spiritual bodies, regular weapons won't work against them. As far as destructive power goes, there are more numerous powerful weapons among modern ones, but as normal weapons won't do a thing to them, they're among the most powerful. Anyway, just as fighters can load a nuclear warhead, they each have their own Noble Phantasms and among the Servants there are ones that have ridiculously powerful ones. That's why when I meant strength being the same as a fighter I thought it would be easier to image. Oh and, if I were to say it in a sort of non-serious way, they'd be 1/4th of Tsukihime's Arcueid I suppose? The strength of one I mean. Against one Servant, Arc would probably win, but against two, while Arc's having trouble against the one, the other could get behind her and nail her... maybe.

Q: That's more like, whoah, Arc's tough, heh.

きのこ:これはですね、攻撃能力はだいたい戦闘機一機分なんですよ。 戦闘機は個人で立ち向かうには強力すぎる力をもっているけれども、 一つの街を滅ぼすには何度も補給しなければならない。 ただ連中(サーヴァント)が厄介なのは、奴ら霊体なので通常攻撃が効かないんですよ。 破壊力においては近代兵器のほうが強力なものが多いんですけど、 通常兵器が聞かないと言う時点でいまだ最強。 で、戦闘機も核弾頭を搭載できたりするように、宝具をそれぞれ備えており、 中にはとんでもない宝具を持ってる奴がいる。 だから、強さは戦闘機ぐらいだと言うのがイメージしやすいかなと。 あと、ギャグっぽく言うならば「月姫」のアルクェイドの4分の1くらいかな? 一人頭の強さは。サーヴァント一人だとアルクが勝つだろうけど、 サーヴァント二人だとアルクがてこずってる間に後ろからプスッと…いけるかな。

 ところでアッ○ーの教えはどうした。  暗殺者のサーヴァント。アサシンの語源となった、とある暗殺教団のトップに立った者の一人。アサシンの頭目になった時点で自らの顔を無くした人物。
 『stay night』では老魔術師・間桐臓硯に仕え、地味ながらも中々の働き者っぷりを疲労しました。派手な活躍はないものの、その戦闘スタイルはなかなかに格好いいのでは。そしてただ一人、『hollow』で出番がなかった男。あうう、全世界が泣いた……!(夜の聖杯戦争で出てきたのは真アサシンであって真アサシンじゃないしなー)
 あ。余談ですが、アサシンのサーヴァントの宝具名はすべて『ザバーニーヤ』です。アサシン頭目の候補は十九人おり、その誰もがザバーニーヤの名を冠する「奥義」を隠し持っているのです。彼らは他の十八人を蹴落とす為、奥の手は隠しているのだとか。

• The origins of Einzbern
A factory originally created by the students of the magician who realized the third magic. Began in the year 1 AD.
They attempted to reproduce their master’s miracle, but couldn’t do it themselves, so as an alternate plan they tried to recreate a specimen identical to their master and have it reproduce the magic.

After nearly 900 years of effort, Justeaze—the homunculus who would come to be called the Winter Saint—was forged.
She was a model that strayed from what the magi had intended, created completely by accident, but her abilities were equal to or above those of their master.
The magi should have been elated about Justeaze, but they couldn’t be happy. After all, she was a mutation that was born regardless of their own techniques or skills.
Even if that specimen was to reproduce the third magic, that conclusion would be harder for them to bear than 900 years of failure.

The magi deperately attempted to create a homunculus that excelled Justeaze by their own techniques.
The artificial intelligence created to act as the castle’s central management—the golem Jubstacheit—was the pinnacle of their craft, and became the father of all homunculi created at Einzbern.

Justeaze succeeded at proving the third magic.
However, it was not cost-effective. Justeaze’s use of the third magic was like careful knitting. It would take several years to save just one person, making the salvation of the entire human race virtually unattainable.
In addition, while Justeaze herself did not age, her body was so frail it would take little to kill her, so she could not leave the castle.
Since her intelligence and mentality were also unaging, she did not develop at all. From an outside perspective, it was as if she was repeating a single day for all eternity.
If she were to leave the castle she would be freed from this “single day,” but the act of leaving the castle signified an easy death for Justeaze.

In the end, they accepted that humans could create something that surpassed humans, but not something that could save humans.
… Or perhaps they would not have failed if a miracle like Justeaze had not occurred.

The magi despaired the limits of their abilities. Some abandoned the castle, while others took their own lives.
The homunculi left at Einzbern were abandoned by their creators, but in their purity, they continued to operate the factory for the sake of the creators’ ideology—the salvation of humankind, the reproduction of a miracle.

From then on, all homunculi created at Einzbern were based off of Justeaze.
Jubstacheit created a humanoid terminal unit, and used it as the manager of Einzbern. Though by the end he operated even Acht (the eighth humanoid terminal), he did not possess a personality.
He only included the necessary “humanity” to operate the castle and reproduce the third magic into each of his humanoid terminals, and made them act like humans.
Jubstacheit is essentially an automaton that cannot progress, but continues operating in perpetuity. His way of existence is just like an old clock ticking away, being forgotten by people before running down.

• The great grail
Five hundred years after the magi departed from Einzbern, a model plan was devised for a wide-area operation device for the third magic using Justeaze.
Einzbern had determined that reproducing Justeaze was impossible.
Their plan of keeping Justeaze safe because she was a unique and valuable model switched to a plan to use that unique model to mass-produce miracles.
(This was not Jubstacheit’s plan, but a consensus of opinion within Einzbern. Because the homunculi were pure, they chose the method with the greatest probability of success. In fact, Jubstacheit was the only intelligence that voted against this.)

Justeaze could only use the third magic on one human over a period of decades. Therefore, using Justeaze as a frame, they would create a “greater” magic formula and save many humans at once.
The plan was to disassemble her magic circuits and replace them with a magic formula, creating a humanoid universe—the great grail.

But Einzbern alone could not start this project.
They were no more than dolls. They had no way to live in the outside world, and they couldn’t handle the complexity of human society.
To create the great grail and reproduce the third magic, they needed understanding and cooperative humans.

Then, in the year 1800, a guest arrived at the winter castle that had continued to produce homunculi.
Makiri Zolken. A magus who had devoted his life to eliminating all the evils of the world, the evils of humanity.
(At this point, Zolken was mostly disillusioned. He knew it was about time to give up, but calling on Einzbern was his last hope. He met Justeaze, and felt a complicated mix of emotions—hope towards fulfilling his ambition, jealousy at her ability to use the third magic, and pity for Justeaze’s eternal youth causing her to “repeat the same day.”)

With Makiri’s understanding and Tōsaka’s cooperation, Einzbern began to create the great grail.
However, once they started, they determined that Justeaze alone was not enough.
They could create a great grail. They could create its core. However, to operate it they would need vast amounts of magical energy, and a lesser grail to control it.
Makiri and Tōsaka devised a ritual to collect magical energy using Justeaze’s ability to connect with the root: the grail war.
Despite being unable to reproduce Justeaze, Einzbern created a lesser grail with similar abilities to hers.

After 10 years, the project was finally complete.
The grail war ritual was successful, and the great grail lit up.
But its first operation ended in dismal failure.
There was no flaw in the great grail itself.
The problem lay in the craftsmen and magi who participated.
Instead of using the precious magic reactor core for the sake of the whole planet, the magi killed each other out of a desire to use it for the sake of their own race or society.
Einzbern had been unable to understand the thought processes of the humans who operated the great grail.

• Irisviel and Illyasviel
Einzbern learned from the failure of the grail war and changed their plans.
Justeaze no longer existed.
While preparing to restart the great grail, they returned to their original goal and focused on creating a perfect homunculus.

As a result, they created Irisviel, a homunculus with the function of a lesser grail. They expanded on her further and Illyasviel, a homunculus that was the pinnacle of Einzbern’s technique, was born.

• Tuners
This is a digression, but separate from the winter castle is the tuners’ building (a small house), inhabited by a family of human magi, not homunculi.
Since the homunculi cannot negotiate with human society, the tuners went into town in their place and barter for needed materials. Traders, essentially.
Still, they are a talented magus family, and possess strong artistry. Humans without strong aesthetic sense could never take care of Einzbern, after all.
The tuner family’s numbers dwindled along with Einzbern’s decline, and in the end only one remained.
It seems he often worked in the castle as a butler, teaching the secluded, medieval-minded homunculi about the outside world.

It’s unknown what kind of conclusion that tuner chose after Illya lost and Jubstacheit shut himself down.

• In summary: so what is Einzbern?
A factory in which homunculi continued operating towards the ideals and goals humans had given them, after the magi had left.
Jubstacheit is something like the factory’s central management program. A monolith. Acht is his terminal.
Even after their creators had given up and died, the homunculi in the winter castle devoted themselves to making their masters’ dream come true.

What lies at the basis of the Einzbern factory and many discarded things is the purity of machines.
Imagine a doll that can speak to its owner, but only a few phrases.
“Hello,” “thank you,” “I’m sorry,” “good night”—“I love you.”
These reactions delight the buyer, but it’s clear that they will soon be disappointed.

“No matter what I say, the doll can only say predetermined phrases. It just keeps repeating that tired old ‘I love you.’ ”
Realizing that the love the doll speaks of is a false emotion, the buyer will likely discard it eventually.
But humans are the ones who see that as empty words and a manufactured fake.
Even if it doesn’t have a “heart,” even if it’s only repeating the same words, there are no lies in the actions of machines.
They innocently carry out the task they were given.
“I love you.”
Though abandoned, forgotten, and scorned as out-of-date dolls, they continue to carry out their mission, unchanged from the time they were designed.
Machines do not lose their worth when a newer model appears.
Their worth (life) ends when humans can no longer bear that purity.

As you see him, what is Nasu like?

Urobuchi: You can't get to the bottom of him. I've known him for a long time, but the longer you associate with him the more distant that bottom becomes. He is extremely well mannered, however, no matter how close you are there's a side of him that he will absolutely not expose, while maintaing a certain persona.

Sanda: There's an area where other people can't enter. It's been said when there's someone within a 5 meters radius of him, he definitely will not write a manscript.

Urobuchi: It feels like he conceals himself within himself. Like a magus (laughs).

Sanda: Definitely. But he has very strong communication skills.

I talked with Nasu and Sakamoto Maaya previously and was impressed how he sometimes referred to himself as "Kinoko."

Urobuchi: That's a reason why you can't get to the bottom of him. He creates and talks through a persona called "Nasu Kinoko."

奈須さんの起源を2人が考えるとしたら……?

──おふたりから見て、奈須さんはどんな方ですか?

虚淵 底知れないですよね。付き合いが長くなりましたけど、長引くごとに底が知れなくなります。非常に人当たりが良くて気さくな方なんですが、どれだけ親しくても絶対に晒さない一面を常に維持していて。

三田 他人を入れないゾーンがありますよね。半径5メートル以内に人の気配があったら、原稿は絶対に書かないって言ってました。

虚淵 自分の中に、秘匿する場所がある感じ。魔術師みたいですね(笑)。

三田 確かに。あれだけコミュ強なのに(笑)。

──以前、奈須さんと坂本真綾さんに対談を行っていただいたのですが、奈須さんがご自身のことをたまに「きのこ」とおっしゃっていたのがとても印象的で。

虚淵 そこが底知れないところなんですよ。必ず「奈須きのこ」というアバターを構築して、そこを通して語ってくる。
