Quantum Time-Lock: Đai Cố Định Ghi Chép Linh Tử (霊子記録固定帯, Reishi Kiroku Kotei-Tai?), một loạt các sự kiện "bao quát" liên quan đến việc "Cắt Tỉa" và "Quản Lý" các Tịnh Hành Thế Giới (並行世界, Heikou Sekai?, Adjacent Worlds) (trước đây còn được gọi là các Thế Giới Song Song hay Bình Hành Thế Giới (平行世界, Heikou Sekai?, Parallel Worlds) khi đề cập tới Đệ Nhị Ma Pháp).
Trong Fate/EXTELLA, sự kiện Quantum Time-Lock: Đai Cố Định Ghi Chép Linh Tử còn được giới Ma Thuật Sư gọi là Nhân Lý Định Sở (人理定礎, Jinri Teiso?, Human Order Foundations).[1] Việc áp đặt Quantum Time-Lock được biết là một trong những "Khả Năng" mà Thế Giới thực hiện.[2]
Tổng quan[]

Quantum Time-Lock: Đai Cố Định Ghi Chép Linh Tử, một loạt sự kiện "bao quát" được lặp đi lặp lại theo với mục tiêu cố định "Biểu Hiện Trung Tính của các Hiện Tượng và Sự Kiện", như một giá trị bất biến của những Lịch sử được chứng thực.[1]
Theo lời Altera trong phần "Prologue", sự kiện Time-Locks này sẽ lặp lại với tần suất vài thế kỷ.[2] Tuy nhiên trong Fate/EXTELLA Material, xác nhận rằng hai Time-Locks đã xảy ra chỉ trong hơn một tháng, một cái xảy ra vào lúc Kishinami Hakuno gặp gỡ Cự Thần Altera và cái còn lại nằm ở Ending của True Nero Route.[1]
Về cơ bản, "Vũ Trụ" (宇宙, Uchuu?, Universe) không giới hạn việc phân chia vô số các nhánh Tịnh Hành Thế Giới. Tuy nhiên, nếu cứ để các dòng thời gian phân chia bừa bãi thì sẽ dẫn đến việc cạn kiệt năng lượng của Vũ Trụ. Những thứ không phù hợp với Thế Giới (世界, sekai?, Worlds), bị loại khỏi mục "Những dòng thời gian biểu đạt được tính ổn định và khả năng".
Do vậy, “Sự tồn tại của thứ gọi là Thế Giới (世界という者, Sekai to Iu Mono?, "the thing called the World")” sẽ thực hiện công việc quản lý định kỳ và Chọn Lọc (伐採, basai?, culled) ra những dòng thời gian còn khả năng phân nhánh,[2] để ngăn chặn việc tiêu tốn năng lượng không cần thiết.[1]
Quá trình này vận hành theo nguyên lý Bảo Toàn Hiện Tượng (事象保存, Jijou Hozon?, the Conservation of Phenomena), hay còn gọi là Sự Tượng Bảo Tồn,, hoạt động dựa trên phương thức phân tích Kiểm Toán (集計, Shukei?, audits) của những dòng thời gian biểu thị được Khả Năng Tiến Triển (進むと可能性, susumu to kanousei?, survivability), hay còn gọi là "triển vọng và tiềm năng",—đánh giá sự bền ổn của các Thế Giới Song Song (平行世界, heikou sekai?, Parallel Worlds) trong suốt thế kỷ kế tiếp.[2]
Moon Cell Automaton đi đến kết luận rằng "Vũ Trụ Nhận Thức" (認識宇宙, Ninshiki Uchuu?, Universe of Awareness)————Về cơ bản, đặc tính của chúng không ổn định————Quá Khứ, Hiện Tại và Tương Lai,... những dối trá về việc "Thi Hành" nhiệm vụ "Cắt Tỉa" cũng như sự hình thành của các bản Ký Lục Đai (記録帯, Kiroku-tai?, Recording Bands / Records, gọi tắt là "Ký Lục").[1]
Tập các dòng thời gian được giữ lại sau những đợt Time-Locks tạo nên một trục trung tâm của Đại Thụ Thời gian (時間という大樹, Jikan to Iu Daiju?, the Great Tree Known as Time) hay còn được gọi là Nhánh Chính (大幹, Daikan?, Primary Branch / Trunk).[1]
Nếu bị bỏ mặc, "Đại Thụ Thời Gian" sẽ phân nhánh một cách mất kiểm soát, và hành động loại bỏ các "Nhánh" phân kỳ không cần thiết, chỉ để lại "thân cây". Đây là hình ảnh đơn giản nhất để hiểu sự kiện này.
Hai thế giới Fate/Zero và Fate/Grand Order đã được Romani Archaman xác nhận là nằm trong một khu vực nào đó của trục trung tâm này. Tất cả các Thế Giới nằm trên Trunk đều sẽ có những sự Tương Đồng của Thế Giới (他と同じ世界, hoka to onaji sekai?) hay Nền Tảng của Thế Giới (世界の基盤, Sekai no Kiban?) chung khá lớn về sự "Biểu Thị (expression)" và "Định Dạng (format)", và được mô tả là Biểu Hiện Trung Tính (平均値, heikin-chi?, "Average Values") của các Hiện Tượng và Sự Kiện, do kết quả Time-Lock không tốt hoàn toàn mà cũng chẳng xấu hoàn toàn.[2][1]. Khi những dòng thời gian phát triển quá nhanh, đến một mốc thịnh vượng hoặc rơi vào diệt vong. Chúng sẽ bị xem như nhũng dòng thời gian cần phải bị loại bỏ khỏi các Thế Giới Song Song (平行世界, heikou sekai?, Parallel Worlds), rồi nhanh chóng bị cắt tỉa khi đến Time-Lock kết tiếp.[2]
Fate/EXTELLA giải thích rằng năng lượng để có thể cung cấp cho sự phát triển không ngừng của các "thế giới không cần thiết tồn tại" không hiện hữu trong "Chiều Không Gian" (次元, Jigen?, Dimension) này, và nếu sự phân nhánh vẫn không được kiểm soát, sau cùng chúng sẽ vượt quá Sức Chứa (capacity) của bản thân các Chiều Không Gian. Hơn nữa, Trái đất chỉ có thể tồn tại ở mức độ văn minh hiện tại thêm một thế kỷ nữa trước khi Hệ Mặt trời tan biến bởi khối lượng dữ liệu khổng lồ do loài người tạo ra. Tuy nhiên, dựa vào tiến trình "Cắt Tỉa", có khả năng hiện trạng này có thể được duy trì thêm khoảng một trăm triệu năm nữa.[2]
Ảnh hưởng từ sự kiện này là nhằm đảm bảo cho các bản "Ký Lục" trong "Đai Cố Định Ghi Chép Linh Tử" sau, chỉ có thể được quyết định bởi những người đang sống trong thời đại đó. Những hành động can thiệp vào "Quá Khứ" hay "Tương Lai" đều không ảnh hưởng trực tiếp đến việc hình thành các Time-Lock.[1] Theo Fate/EXTELLA, yếu tố quyết định ảnh hưởng đến Time-Lock được gọi là "Quan Trắc" (観測, Kansoku?, Observation).[2]
Sự can thiệp và sửa chữa[]
Bất kỳ sự kiện lịch sử nào được bảo hộ bởi Time-Lock (固定帯, kotei-tai?, "Đai Neo (anchoring band)") đều trở thành một tồn tại bất biến và không thể bị can thiệp bởi quá khứ hay tương lai; đồng nghĩa với việc sự kiện hay hiện tượng nào xảy ra trong "Đai Neo" đều hoàn toàn không thể thay đổi được. Theo giả thuyết, nếu một người nào đó du hành thời gian tới thời điểm xảy ra các sự kiện trong "Đai Neo" để sửa đổi lịch sử, thì Lịch sử buộc phải tự sửa chữa (強引に復元, gouin ni fukugen?, forcibly corrected) sao cho các sự kiện phải đồng nhất với các sự kiện được ghi lại trong "Ký Lục".[1]
Vào thời điểm mà Quantum Time-Locks đã được ấn định, những kết quả được ghi nhận ở Đai Neo đều không thể thay đổi. Thứ có thể thay đổi được chỉ là quá trình nó diễn ra.[1]
Ví dụ rằng "kết quả" "Britain sẽ bị tuyệt diệt". Thì nếu giả sử Britain có thoát ra khỏi cuộc nội chiến, Altria có thành công và nhân dân có hạnh phúc đi chăng nữa, thì khi đến thời điểm được ghi nhận trong Đai Neo, kết quả "Dù vậy, Anh Quốc vẫn không tránh khỏi việc bị diệt vong" vẫn sẽ được biểu hiện.[1]
Một, hai hay thậm chí vài người có thể được cứu, nhưng việc thay đổi Lịch sử Nhân loại (人類史, Jinrui-shi?, History of Man) vẫn là thứ vượt ngoài khả năng can thiệp.[1]
Để có thể thành công viết lại Lịch sử, điều đó đòi hỏi một nguồn cung khổng lồ, dòng chảy lịch sử nhân loại, về cơ bản có thể bị phủ nhận nếu thành công Phá Vỡ (破壊, hakai?, "destruction") Quantum Time-Lock. Nhưng ngay cả với phương thức như trên, thứ bị phủ nhận vẫn nằm trong giới hạn "Lịch sử Nhân loại tiếp nối sau Đai Neo".[1]
Thuật Ngữ[]
Trong sự kiện Accel Zero, Lord El-Melloi II đã đề cập đến một số thuật ngữ Vũ trụ học liên quan đến Tịnh Hành Thế Giới và Quantum Time-Locks, bởi những kiến thức hiện thời của anh bắt nguồn từ việc kết hợp với một Anh Linh.[3]
Trong Fate/EXTELLA Material, Hiện Tượng Biên Soạn (編纂事象, Hensan Jijyou?, Items Permissible to Revision) và Hiện Tượng Cắt Tỉa (剪定事象, Sentei Jijyou?, Items Designated for Removal) được đề cập là có liên quan đến Những khái niệm về Sự hoạt động của các Tịnh Hành Thế Giới (並行世界の運営概念, Heikou Sekai no Unei Gainen?). Tịnh Hành Thế Giới[]
- Tịnh Hành Thế Giới (並行世界, Heikou Sekai?, Adjacent Worlds), trước đây còn được gọi là các Thế Giới Song Song. Có thể hiểu đây là các "Dòng Thời Gian (Timelines)" được phân chia kiểu "what-if". Trong Fate/EXTELLA mô tả, Thế Giới có quyền "Cắt Bỏ" một dòng thời gian nếu như dòng thời gian đó mất đi khả năng "Phân Kỳ" trong vai trò một Tịnh Hành Thế Giới.[2] Đồng thời, khả năng du hành giữa các Tịnh Hành Thế Giới của Archimedes được gọi là Di Động Tịnh Hành (並行移動, Heikou Idou?)
- Khái niệm Tịnh Hành Thế Giới này khác với khái niệm “Bình Hành Thế Giới (平行世界, Heikou Sekai?)” được đề cập trong Prolouge của Altera. Trong Fate/EXTELLA, từ “Bình Hành Thế Giới” là tên do giới khoa học hiện đại đặt theo ý hiểu của con người về các thế giới song song hoàn toàn mà không phải bắt nguồn từ phân nhánh.
Nhánh Chính[]
- Nhánh Chính (大幹, Daikan?, Primary Branch / Trunk) thuật ngữ dùng để chỉ Tập các Tịnh Hành Thế Giới (並行世界群, Heikou Sekai-Gun?, The cluster of Adjacent Worlds) tạo nên một trục trung tâm của Đại Thụ Thời gian (時間という大樹, Jikan to Iu Daiju?, the Great Tree Known as Time)---Chúng là những Dòng Thời Gian (Timelines) đã được Chứng Thực (確定, kakutei?, confirmed) của Lịch Sử Nhân Loại (人類史, Jinrui-shi?, History of Man), và được lưu giữ lại sau mỗi kỳ Chọn Lọc (伐採, basai?, culled) kết thúc.[1]
- Hai thế giới Fate/Zero và Fate/Grand Order được Romani Archaman xác nhận "nằm gần trung tâm" của Đại Thụ Thời Gian, trong vô vàn những dòng thời gian xuyên suốt lịch sử.[3] Những thế giới nằm trong Nhánh Chính được cho rằng hiện hữu dựa trên Trật Tự Trục (正しい軸, Tadashii Jiku?, proper axis),[2] tượng trưng cho Biểu Hiện Trung Tính (平均値, heikin-chi?, Average Values) của các Hiện Tượng và Sự Kiện xuyên suốt Lịch sử Nhân loại.[1]
Hiện Tượng Biên Soạn[]
- Hiện Tượng Biên Soạn (編纂事象, Hensan Jijyou?, Items Permissible to Revision), là tên phân loại những "Dòng Thời Gian (Timelines)" nằm trong Nhánh Chính.[3] Tuy nói rằng bất kỳ kết quả, sự kiện lịch sử nào được bảo hộ như một Time-Lock đều sẽ trở thành một sự tồn tại bất biến và không bị can thiệp bởi quá khứ hay tương lai, một, hai hay thậm chí vài người có thể được cứu, và việc thay đổi lịch sử loài người vẫn là thứ vượt ngoài khả năng can thiệp.[1] Thế nhưng, dù cho Kết Quả (結果, Kekka?, Outcomes) của những sự kiện chính đã được xác định bởi Quantum Time-Lock, thì Quá Trình (過程, Katei?, Processes), hay còn gọi là Tiến Trình, vẫn có khả năng bị những Kẻ Du Hành Thời Gian (時間移動者, Jikan Idō-sha?, Time Traveler) tác động lên và thực hiện một vài “thay đổi cực kỳ đặc biệt”, dẫn đến việc có thể thay đổi cả "Kết Quả" và gây thiệt hại đến Quantum Time-Lock.
- Trước khi Quantum Time-Lock được xác định, tất cả mốc thời gian và sự kiện đã và sẽ xảy ra đều rơi vào mục này.[2]

Fate/Prototype: Fragments of Sky Silver[]
- Nếu như Sajyou Manaka thành công thực hiện điều ước của Saber về một Britain trường tồn, Nhân Lý Định Sở tại thời điểm đó sẽ sụp đổ và thế giới hiện tại sẽ bị hủy diệt.
Fate/Grand Order[]
- Để thực hiện kế hoạch của mình, Goetia đã tạo ra bảy Đặc Dị Điểm, gây thiệt hại nặng cho bảy Time-Locks quan trọng nhất trong Lịch sử Nhân loại.
- Trong Fate/Grand Order, Quantum Time-Locks còn được gọi là Nhân Lý Định Sở (人理定礎, Jinri Teiso?, Human Order Foundations), cùng nhau chúng tạo thành nền tảng cho nhân loại tiếp tục phát triển. Nếu thiếu vắng các nền tảng quan trọng, lịch sử nhân loại nhanh chóng rơi vào hỗn loạn do các trạng thái khả dĩ gây nên.[3]
Fate/EXTELLA[]
- Mục tiêu của Archimedes trong Fate/EXTELLA là phá hoại "Moon Cell" trước khi thời điểm Quantum Time-Lock kế tiếp xảy ra--nhằm thiết lập một thực tại dựa trên điều đó.
- Để thực hiện kế hoạch, Archimedes đã lợi dụng quyền quản trị SE.RA.PH, và liên tục nhảy sang các dòng thời gian khác cho đến khi thực hiện thành công ý đồ của mình. Từ quan điểm của Archimedes, chỉ cần Moon Cell ngừng hoạt động ngày trước khi Time-Lock kế tiếp, chiến thắng thuộc về anh.
- Tuy nhiên, cho dù cũng đã có những thế giới mà Archimedes thắng, nhưng lại khiến cho dòng thời gian đó mất đi khả năng phân nhánh. Kishinami Hakuno sau đó xác định rằng một thế giới trung tính là thế giới mang tiềm năng phát triển nhất. Và cuối cùng, Time-Lock tiếp theo xảy ra vào ending của True Nero Route, đồng nghĩa với việc âm mưu của Archimedes tan vỡ và kết quả Mooncell tiếp tục hoạt động là không đổi.

Hiện Tượng Cắt Tỉa[]
- Hiện Tượng Cắt Tỉa (剪定事象, Sentei Jijyou?, Items Designated for Removal), là tên phân loại dành cho những "Dòng Thời Gian (Timelines)" đã trở nên khác biệt hoàn toàn so với những Dòng Thời Gian khác (完全に別世界になり, kanzen ni betsu-sekai ni nari, come to exist as realities entirely distinct from others?),[3] theo đó Nền Tảng của Thế Giới (世界の基盤, Sekai no Kiban?, Foundation of a World, gọi tắt là "Nền Tảng") đã trở nên sai lệch, không còn giống với những dòng thời gian trong Trunk, và đã mất đi khả năng phân nhánh. Chúng còn được gọi là các Dị Thế Giới (異世界, Isekai?, Otherworlds). Đúng như tên gọi của nó, những thực tại bị xếp vào mục này đều là những thứ được chỉ định cần phải bị loại bỏ.[2]
- Trong Á Chủng Dị Điểm Shinjuku, theo như lời của Leonardo da Vinci, thì Dòng thời gian ở đây đã có thể được coi là mục tiêu tiếp theo của “Thế Giới” để loại bỏ khỏi Trunk. Bởi vậy, mặc dù Time-Lock kế tiếp vẫn chưa diễn ra nhưng Moriarty đã có thể thực hiện được kế hoạch hủy diệt hành tinh do không có sự can thiệp của Ức Chỉ Lực.[4]
- Trong Fate/EXTELLA, một số tiêu chí để bị liệt vào mục Hiện Tượng Cắt Tỉa của Quantum Time-Lock là:[2]

- Vũ Trụ Quan Trắc (観測宇宙, Kansoku Uchuu?, Universe of Observation) ý chỉ một dạng thực tại mà Khái Niệm về Thời Gian (時間の概念, Jikan no Gainen?, Concept of Time) có thể được nhận thức (認識される時間, Ninshiki-sareru Jikan?, Time Within Conscious Recognition); Nó còn có tên gọi khác là Vũ Trụ Nhận Thức (認識宇宙, Ninshiki Uchuu?, Universe of Awareness). Trên mô hình ý thức nhân loại, các sự kiện từ quá khứ, hiện tại cho đến tương lai không thể được phân biệt biểu hiện của thời gian một cách riêng rẽ. Bởi vì tương lai luôn biến đổi dựa trên hiện tại, và hiện tại lại biến đổi dựa theo quá khứ. Vì bất lực trong việc nhận thức những thứ nằm ngoài "Hiện Tại", nhận thức về "Vũ Trụ Quan Trắc" có khả năng thay đổi từ hiện tại, được gọi là "Ngày mai".[5]

Theo Fate/EXTELLA Material, "Vũ Trụ" được đề cập đến trong bối cảnh Quantum Time-Lock chính là Vũ Trụ Nhận Thức (認識宇宙, Ninshiki Uchuu?, Universe of Awareness).[1] Tuy nhiên, vẫn chưa rõ liệu cụm từ này có đồng nghĩa với thuật ngữ Chiều Không Gian (次元, Jigen?, Dimension), hay còn gọi là Thứ Nguyên, nhắc đến trong Fate/EXTELLA không; hoặc thực sự "Sức Chứa (capacity)" và "Giới Hạn Năng Lượng (energy limitations)" vốn có của "Vũ Trụ" là tác nhân hạn chế việc phân nhánh.

An event that manifests at regular intervals for the purpose of anchoring the Average Expression (平均値, heikin-chi?, lit. "Average Values") of phenomena as absolutes.
This universe permits the birth of unlimited possibilities, numerous adjacent worlds, and divergent developments of history.
However, as the unrestricted propagation of this process would exhaust the lifespan of the universe, at set intervals, those extraneous worlds (世界, sekai?) removed of the category of "routes characterized by survivability and stability" are culled (伐採, basai, lit. "cull" / "prune"), so as to prevent the needless expenditure of energy.
The Mooncell has concluded that the means by which our Universe of Awareness (認識宇宙) -- fundamentally unstable by nature -- is stabilized across the Past, Present, and Future lie in the execution of "culling" and the formation of "records" (記録帯, Kiroku-tai, lit. "Recording Bands").
If left alone, the Great Tree Known as Time (時間という大樹, Jikan to Iu Daiju?) will branch without restriction, and the behavior of culling serves to remove those divergences that are unnecessary, leaving only the "trunk" to advance. This is the simplest image by which to comprehend the phenomena.
Any history that has been secured as an anchoring band (固定帯, kotei-tai) become as an existence impervious to interference from the past and future; events or phenomena that exist within the purview of the anchoring band are utterly immovable.
Hypothetically, if one were to move to a chronological position in the past of an "anchoring band" to the purpose of modifying history, as time progresses unto the position of the "anchoring band," history would be forcibly corrected (強引に復元, gouin ni fukugen?, lit. "forcibly restored") to its state of record.
In those universes wherein Quantum Time-Locks are imposed, the "outcomes" that have been registered to anchoring bands are categorically unchangeable. Thus, that which would be open for time travelers to modify would be invariably restricted to "process."
For example, let us presume that the "outcome" that "Britain was destroyed" is secured as a matter of record.
In the circumstance that a process wherein "Britain comes to prosper; its wars are concluded; and happiness is granted to its people" is successfully brought about, in the moment that history advances unto the anchoring band, the outcome whereby "even so, Britain came unto its destruction" manifests.
One or two -- or any number of lives might be saved.
However, modification to the overall course of the History of Man (人類史, Jinrui-shi) is decisively beyond possibility.
These are the Quantum Time-Locks -- those existences referred to within Thaumaturgical Society as Human Order Foundations (人理定礎, Jinri Teiso?, lit. "Foundations of the Rationality of Man").
To rephrase, it is potentially possible that by some immense undertaking, the course of the History of Man could be fundamentally denied by successful revocation (破壊, hakai, destruction) of a "Quantum Time-Lock," but even by this method, that which is denied is restricted to "the History of Man that falls subsequent to the anchoring band."
The purview of a "Quantum Time-Lock" due to manifest may be dictated only those who live within the era. Intervention from the past or future is incapable of directly influencing the formation of a Quantum Time-Lock.クォンタム・タイムロック【事柄】

固定帯となった歴史は過去・未来からの干渉をうけても不動のものとなるため、固定帯にある事象は何があっても変動しない。
仮に、「固定帯」より過去に移動して歴史を変動させようと、その「固定帯」に到達すれば歴史は強引に復元される。
霊子記録固定帯がある宇宙において、固定帯として登録された「結果」は決して変わらない。時間移動者に変革できるのはその「過程」だけとなる。
たとえば「ブリテンが滅んだ」という「結果」が固定された場合。
時間移動をして「プリテンを繁栄させ、戦争を終結させ、誰もが幸福になった」という過程を成功させたとしても、歴史が固定帯に入った瞬間に「しかし、それでもプリテンは滅びた」という結果になる。
一人や二人、何人かの人生は救えるかしもれない。
しかし人類史という大きなうねりを変えることは決してできない。

Whereas originally, such a development could not occur, Archimedes repeatedly shifted between realities to the end of achieving his goal.
From Archimedes' perspective, so long as the operation of Moon Cell could be entirely brought to a halt prior to the fall of the subsequent Quantum Time-Lock, victory would be his.
However, even if there were outcomes in which Archimedes was victorious, a route in which the complete termination of Moon Cell's processes occurred could not be reached. In the meantime, the Protagonist was able to confirm "an average world that bears the potential greatest" -- establishing the purview of the coming Quantum Time-Lock.
Archimedes' machinations were consequently reduced to little more than seafoam.
Incidentally, Quantum Time-Lock A manifested as of the start of the primary story-arc in Extella, when "the Protagonist enters the Stone Chamber of the Titan with Archimedes, and is split into parts"; Quantum Time-Lock B manifested as of the Ending of the True Nero Route.
Regardless of the actions taken by Archimedes between these two points in time, the "Outcome" was already decided.本作におけるアルキメデスの目的は次の霊子記録固定帯が訪れる前に「ムーンセルは壊れた」 という結果を作り、その前提から始まる基本世界にすることだった。

The World is not one; rather, like a reflection in a pair of opposing mirrors, it infinitely unfolds. Consequently, there cannot exist only a single future -- or so it's thought. In other words --
Let's explain it like this. The you that exists right now can be described as a you that exists somewhere within this flow of time.
It's probably difficult for you to envision. After all, it's impossible for humans to even perceive "the Boundaries Between Worlds" (世界の壁, Sekai no Kabe?) -- much less what lies beyond.
So, how about I rephrase? Worlds that run adjacent are essentially as "possibilities."
Conclusions that may be possible.
Bonds that were abandoned.
Options that went unnoticed.
Divergent futures, wherein "what ifs" such as these were permitted. It is indeed these "realities in which the future was altered" that are referred to as Adjacent Worlds.
The you who is now alive --
By the actions of the you who exists here and now, the course of the World can shift in any number of ways.
This is proof that "possibility" (可能性, kanousei?) is itself still alive; positive evidence that your World still lies upon its "proper axis" (正しい軸, Tadashii Jiku?).
In converse: For those Worlds wherein the act of choice can no longer impact the future, Adjacent Realities cannot exist.
Such timelines merely advance.
Losing even the possibility of undoing the past, they become distinct, solitary Worlds.
Their manifestation is a necessary evil, structurally mandated.
In those worlds where choiceless choices incessantly persist, the form of the "World" familiar to you cannot endure.
There should exist worlds ruined by the repetition of choices in mortal error, yes?
There should exist worlds that excessively advanced their civilization by way of continuous innovation, yes?
But once a World arrives at such a state, it can no longer be counted as "a World comparable to the others" (他と同じ世界, hoka to onaji sekai?). If the Foundation of a World (世界の基盤, Sekai no Kiban?) has deviated, it becomes that which is known as an Otherworld (別世界, Betsu-Sekai?, lit. "distinct reality").
But why do such realities become solitary? Shouldn't it be that whatever the future, the possibility of adjacent advancement persists?
Unfortunately, this isn't the case. The energy to account for the proliferation of unnecessary worlds, exists nowhere within this Dimension (次元, Jigen?).
That is to say, the ceaseless proliferation of Adjacent Realities may eventually exceed the capacity of the Dimension as a whole.
Adjacent Realities are a necessary existence, but they cannot be let to freely multiply.
It's a very rough estimation, but should the Earth persist at its present level of civilization for another century, it's likely that the Solar System will collapse.
However, the reality is that we live and multiply. The Solar System hasn't yet dissolved (緩和, kanwa?, lit. "loosen / relax / alleviate") before the sheer volume of data that we produce, and it's likely that the status quo (今の方式, ima no houshiki, lit. "the present formulation / system"?) can be sustained for another hundred million years.
And the principle behind it is simple. To a certain extent, the existence known as the World (世界という者, Sekai to Iu Mono?, lit. "the thing called the World") conducts a hueristic analysis (統計, toukei?) of timeline survivability (進むと可能性, susumu to kanousei?, lit. "prospects and potential"), preserving only those Outcomes wherein "the operation of the subsequent era" (次の時代の運営, Tsugi no Jidai no Unei?) isn't impossible.
For those Adjacent Realities judged to be unnecessary -- the future is closed.
In more concrete terms, cumulative audits (集計, Shukei?) are conducted at intervals of a century in scale (百年単位, hyakunen tan'i?, lit. "units of a century"), to the end of identifying and preserving only the possibilities (可能性, kanousei?) of those Worlds capable of guaranteeing "the preservation of capacity for advancement in yet a subsequent century, at bare minimum."
Per the systematic demands (法則, housoku?, lit. "laws") that facilitate the Conservation of Mass (質量保存, Shitsuryou Hozon?), this process could be termed the Conservation of Phenomena (事象保存, Jijou Hozon?).
Thusly, the civilizations of the many extant Adjacent Realities largely refrain from divergence. You can imagine it as a great tree. The worlds permitted to advance are restricted to the center -- comprising the trunk. Those branches that diverge grow and multiply, but eventually succumb to their limitations (限界, genkai?), falling to ruin without reaching a future.
You understand, yes?
Those worlds that advance too far into ruin or prosperity are bankrupt of Adjacent Realities (平行世界, heikou sekai?). Otherworlds (異世界, Isekai?) such as these are little more than blind alleys (袋小路, fukurou-kouji?) whose outcomes are foreordained.
The time of the culling brings a termination to unnecessary possibilities -- the point at which, by force of Observation (観測, Kansoku?), the mutable Histories of the past solidify as a static course.
This is what the Magi of the Old World (旧世界, Kyuusekai?) referred to as Phenomenon Anchoring Bands (事象固定帯, Jijou Kotei-Tai?) -- the Foundations of the Rationalities of Man (人理定礎, Jinri Teiso?).地上には「並行世界」とい仮説がある。

Think of it like this. The 'you' that you are aware of exists somewhere upon this timeline.
It might sound unreal. Humans aren't equipped to perceive, let alone traverse, the 'wall between worlds.' But what if I put it another way? Think of these parallel worlds as other possibilities.
Imagine what might have been in your life. Think of the connections that were cut off and thrown away. Options you see now, in retrospect, that yu would never have considered at the time. Picture how your life today might be different had those 'what ifs' come to pass. All those variant futures, in everyone's lives, make up the vast array of parallel worlds.
Your actions, those of the 'you' in this present moment on this particular timeline, can change the world in any number of ways. That proves such possibilities are alive, and that your world exists on the 'proper axis.'
Conversely, a world where the future cannot be changed, regardless of your choices, can have no parallel worlds. Such a world is nothing but a dead end, solitary and singular, with a past as immutable as its future.
This is a necessary evil, a byproduct of the way parallel worlds are structured together. After all, a world where humanity made radically different choices would bear very little resemblance to the world you know.
Some worlds may have crumbled by making all the worse choices. Others may have made all the right ones, and rocketed ahead, perhaps too far ahead. In either case, that world can no longer be said to resemble ours, and once a world moves out of sync, it is no longer 'parallel.'
'Why would those worlds become solitary,' you ask? 'Could the people in those worlds not still make different choices?'
Unfortunately, no. This dimension contains a finite amount of energy, and has none to spare for creating new worlds from the worlds gone so far astray.
If parallel worlds continued to increase in this manner, their number would eventuallky exceed the capacity of this dimension. Parallel worlds must exust, but in a manageable quantity. By my own rough calculations, and judging by the civilization of Earth alone, this solar system would collapse within 100 years if parallel worlds expanded without limits.
Seeing as how we do, in fact, live and multiply, the solar system is clearly not oversaturated with possibilities at this time, I extrapolate that this dimension can sustain our existence for the next 100,000,000 years.
The system works thusly: At regular intervals, the dimension takes stock of the possibilities it contains, and only allows certain outcomes, those that would not cause undue difficulty in managing the next generation, to remain. As for the unneeded parallel worlds, the system closes off their futures.
Specifically, every 100 years, it calculates how many worlds will last another 100 years, and supports those worlds only. Have you heard of the Law of Conservation of Mass? This could be called the Law of Conservation of Events.
And so, the civilization in these numerous parallel worlds line up with one another. Think of it all as a giant tree. Only the trunk at the center can grow tall. The branches may bear fruit, but eventually they reach their limit, and fall without reaching the future.
You understand, yes? There are no parallel worlds for a world that has evolved too fast or crumbled too quickly. Such worlds are merely dead ends whose outcomes are predetermined.
And so, there is a set time frame in which these branches are trimmed, extra possibilities are removed, and future histories, once fluid, turn to stone.
