Abigail WilliamsWP (アビゲイル・ウィリアムズWP, Abigeiru Wiriamuzu?), Class Name Foreigner (フォーリナー, Fōrinā?), is a Foreigner-class Servant summoned by Ritsuka Fujimaru in Fate/Grand Order.
Profile[]
Identity[]
Abagail Williams is a Pseudo-Servant created by the Demon God Pillar Raum and modeled after the one in historical fact. Raum's objective was to make Abigail a doll to gather the deep-seated grudges of those who became victims of the witch hunts in history, all to have an evil god from outer space descend and dwell within her body. In the village, the witch trials were re-enacted, and while victims were born one after another, Abigail was driven mad, before at last, she was able to house an evil god within her body.[2]
Abigail Williams present in Chaldea is an avatar of the Abigail of Salem. She has vague memories of the events of the Salem Subcategory Singularity, and her real self can occasionally control her telepathically.
Appearance[]
Abigail is a blonde, blue-eyed 12-year-old girl.[2]
In her first Ascension, she wears an old-fashioned dress that reaches her hips with long sleeves that cover her hands and a hat. Her hair and dress are decorated with orange and black ribbons, the latter with white speckles. She carries a teddy bear in her left arm. In the Second Ascension, her dress is replaced with a top which is connected to a series of butterfly shapes connected by string which reach her thigh. She also wears a stereotypical pointy witch hat and stocking on her right leg, both the same ribbons as her first ascension. Her hat also sports her teddy. She also wields a pair of giant black keys with a giant keychain floating behind her and a keyhole on her forehead. In her Third Ascension, Abigail's skin and hair have turned grey with the butterfly strands now seemingly holding her aloft. Her two keys have been reduced to one with a more intricate bow with the keychain being replaced with a mass of tentacles.

Personality[]
As a follower of the Puritan sectWP, Abigail is an innocent girl who respects God and never fails to give her thanks through prayer. Sensitive and naive, she is merely a girl of her age. She often acts polite and lady-like, she striving to be kind to everyone. She is also an intelligent girl and full of emotion, often being easily surprised and found smiling. Although it acts contrary to the Puritan belief of honorable poverty, she has curiosity and interest in foreign topics, novels, and theatre. She has made it a habit to stop and think what to do when faced with situations that are unfamiliar to her. Still, she is prone to making mistakes from rashness and worry for her friends and family. Despite her kind personality, Abigail tends to behave like a spoiled child when she feels lonely.[2]
She is aware of herself as an Anti-Hero who carries the deep-seated grudges of the victims of the witch trials on her back, and she has a strong repugnance when enjoying herself when using her Foreigner powers. When she accumulates experience and repeatedly ascends as a Servant, it becomes easier for her aspect as the Witch of Salem to manifest to the foreground as well.[2]
Abigail has an upfront and straightforward trust for her Master, eagerly striving to meet their expectations. Compared to other Heroic Spirits, she feels a sense of inferiority in that she is no more than a mere child. She openly talks about her wish to her Master and shows a whimsical side to them where she enjoys testing their ethics.[2]
Relationships[]
- Abigail Williams (Swimsuit)
- "Hmm... A Saint Graph this close to me. Ufufu, I've thought of a very good idea. Nah, it's nothing, Master. I can't wait until it's time to sleep──"[3]
- Katsushika Hokusai
- "A Foreigner like me, an incredible artist from Zipang, huh...! The vigor (she) draws with really is overwhelming! Eh? I'm not jealous or anything...~"[3]
- "An amazing painter as one would imagine!…Although I can say with confidence that…her facial profile while she’s in the midst of her work is awe-inspiring too; however……Was I getting the feeling that I have to work harder?"[2]
- "Once more, I think she’s an incredible person! Yes! Katsushika Hokusai! The works that person does by sliding her brush become dreams like that. A dream you can see while awake, right, a dream that comes true! At the street, even though she’s a Servant, she can fight evenly with mages and enemy monsters."[3]
- Katsushika Hokusai (Swimsuit)
- "Hokusai-san who is skilled with katana... Ah, no, it's just when Oei-san was young, she really loves this type of fictional novel called "Yomihon", so she often reads it to me during tea time! Since she reads it with such skillful motions mixed with earnest recitation, it looks like she is even more thrilled and excited than I am! Fufu!"[3]
- "That Hokusai is matching with me on a swimsuit! Could I really be this happy?! Ah, is it better if I call her “Oei” when she wears a swimsuit, Master? Fufu, Oei seems to be restless and can’t calm down when I have the looks of an Adept. I told her I’m not a nymph, but she said “The proof is that your celestial raiment doesn’t move!”. Fufu, Oei was a very cute person since she was young."[3]
- Yang Guifei
- "For example, she’s in Chaldea, right? The one that I occasionally felt as “sometimes something’s interfering with my dream powers”. Yang Guifei, yes, Yuuyuu. That person is connected to the fleeting town that surrounds Formalhaut. It’s from beyond this planet, a really amazing thing! She said she was “a consort of the emperor that the waiting maids refrain from”, though… If I have permission, I’d like to pay her a visit once."[3]
- Gilles de Rais
- "That Gilles de Rais-san in the black coat is really kind when it comes to me. I wonder why...?"[3]
- "The Gilles de Rais with a black overcoat? Yes, he’s a friendly person. It’s helpful that you warn me with words that don’t have double meaning. I want to borrow his prized book, and listen to stories about interesting mysteries. It’s still difficult, but I’m starting to understand what he says. Sometimes his stories change too much, and when it comes to the topic of offering sacrifices, he goes into the minutest details, and sometimes it’s a disgrace that it takes so long because he’s so specific."[3]
- David
- "Haa~... To think the valiant King David was that uninhibited gentleman... My faith is being shaken at its foundations... He is a good-natured person... When he’s playing on his harp."[3]
- "Day after day, the courageous King David tests me with strategies I couldn’t even imagine. My faith tends to be wavering ever since I left my hometown, and God is measuring it… probably. No, surely. Even though he’s saying, 'Heey, even though the Queen of Sheba SCORNS me for these, it’s no problem for you, yeah~?'… I’ll do my best."[2]
- "T-The brave king David... Please, irresponsible king David... I must have a proper talk with him once, yes! About God..., about the peace of mind..., about how he feels about Abishag, whose name he keeps saying easily..."[3]
- Thomas Edison
- "Massachusetts became a part of the federal state called America, right? Lion-san taught it to me. ...In the end, listening to that story took 6 hours."[3]
- Geronimo
- "I’m still scared of Geronimo-san... But, he looks like a very earnest person so I’d like to be able to have a talk with him eventually."[3]
- "When I met him for the first time, he was scary, but… even so, I became familiar with him as a friend! That’s my commemoration day!"[2]
- Queen of Sheba
- "I have a chat with Tituba...no, with the Queen of Sheba frequently. But, when I ask about King Solomon, she immediately dodges the question. “From this point on, I’ll be charging you”, just what is that. Fufu, I’m sure she was embarrassed."[3]
- Mysterious Heroine XX
- "Ufufuh, Heroine XX. When you get hungry late at night and creep into the kitchen, we’ll bump heads 80% of the times. Teasing us while slurping noodles together, going wild and calming down, relaxing your face with glittering eyes... It’s so noisy I never get tired of it."[3]
- EMIYA / Jaguar Man / Artoria Pendragon
- "“It smells soft and strange...”? Fufu, that’s because of this! Pancake Bowl, also called Pancake-don! Jaguar Man taught me and I tried making it! She said it was a traditional food from Zipang! It was originally okonomiyakiWP on top of a rice bowl, though... Jaguar Man said “What, it won’t change much with pancakes ”! But Jaguar herself was dragged away by the bowman EMIYA and His Majesty Artoria, who appeared abruptly, and she disappeared immediately... For some reason both of them had an indescribable expression... Right, just like Master’s right now... H-How about Master tries one too?"[3]
- Edward Teach
- “It seems that we were born in the same year; that’s a wonderful thing, don’t you agree?! Can I call you Teddy? …Wait, please, I’m begging you to stop; for you to suddenly convulse and hit your head against the wall hard enough for blood to come running out… you could’ve sweetly smiled and declined. Um, I’m sorry…”
- (This moment just now is what will secretly remain in their hearts. A moment between people who know the same ocean.)[2]
- Paul Bunyan
- "Honey-colored pancakes alliance!"[2]

Imaginary Scramble[]
Ordeal Call II: Id[]
When the Avenger-class Servants choose to leave Chaldea, Edmond Dantès entrusts Abigail with doing his job of protecting Fujimaru's mind, and instructs her to consult with Ashiya Douman on how dreams work.
Interlude[]
A Dream of a Thousand Stars and One Hundred Nights[]
The Abigail of Salem uses the alignment of the stars to connect with the Abigail of Chaldea. Having foreseen Ritsuka's journey into Imaginary Number Space, where even she would not be able to reach, Abigail attempts to take Ritsuka away, only to be stopped by Geronimo and Nezha.[8]
Ritsuka later finds her in the room of Abigail of Chaldea, bringing an offering of pancakes to console her. In tears, Abigail admits that she misses Lavinia greatly, prompting Ritsuka to share that there is also someone they miss. The conceptual entities of the Sanson who died in Salem and Lavinia watch over them as they cry themselves to sleep, briefly meeting the Gentleman as he emerges to collect Abigail.

Mash Kyrielight explains that Foreigners can turn the laws of the World on their head, however, Abigail has kindly agreed to keep herself in check to help Chaldea with their mission.[6]
Oei Katsushika claims that despite Abigail in her first Ascension and her both being Foreigners, they aren't cut from the same cloth. Due to this, she is confident she can handle Summer Medb and her soldiers on her own. To her surprise, it took the combined efforts of Summer Jeanne d'Arc Alter, Summer Ushiwakamaru, Abigail, and Oei to match Medb's army.[4]
Abigail's Third Ascension is her ultimate form. During the events of Imaginary Scramble, she was capable of voluntarily transforming into her Summer Saint Graph.[7]
Skills[]
Class Skills[]
- Existence Outside the Domain (EX Rank): Denotes a being that descended from the Void of Outer Space. Possessed by an evil god, Abigail houses a portent of Sut-Typhon's Authority within herself and is able to wield it.[2]
- Insanity (B Rank): Abigail is cursed with Insanity, being filled anxiety and fear, which also affects the worldviews and mentalities of those around her.[2]
- Divinity (B Rank): Having become the "Gate" for a higher-order existence lurking in Outer Space, Abigail is tinged with a strong divinity, an immeasurable threat that can even rewrite the image of the World. As compensation, that Insanity spread by Abigail cannot be removed.[2]
Personal Skills[]
- Prayer of Faith (C Rank): The PuritanWP belief that honors poverty and daily prayer.[1][2] Upgrades to Becoming Light in the Abyss (A Rank) in Fate/Grand Order.
- Loss of Sanity (B Rank): The Insanity exuded by Sut-Typhon dwelling within Abigail can very easily break down the fragile common sense and moral sense of Humans.[1][2]
- Witch Trial (A+ Rank): A person in question is made to draw out, from others, impulses of suspicion and jealousy towards themselves without intending to do so even once, giving rise to a chain of misfortune; a threat born because of their sincerity.[1][2] Upgrades to Witch of Salem (A+ Rank) in Fate/Grand Order.
Noble Phantasm[]
- Qliphoth Rhizome: By opening the "Gate" that leads to a foreign space incompatible with humanity, severe distortions are generated within the target's mind and body. When Abigail, who acts as the key, designates a target, they are restrained. As such, it is an Anti-Personnel Noble Phantasm. As it is a phenomenon bound by no limits, it would normally be considered an Anti-World Noble Phantasm.[1][2]
Forms and Alternate Versions[]
Summer[]
Dreams are true. Hatching from the swaying sword If it becomes a cage of truth that embraces and nurtures a hump. I'm a dreamy Adeptus, A servant of God the Father.
At the end of the 17th century. In the Massachusetts that was under British rule. There, a 12-year-old Puritan girl, Abigail Williams was the central figure of the gruesome incident known as the "Salem Witch Trials" where a large number of villagers were accused and hanged.
Abigail, who was summoned as a Servant, due to several factors overlapping, established a connection with an evil god from outer space────"The All-in-One and One-in-All" whose existence was yet to be proven in our universe.
The young girl wields the mighty power of Those Who Descend (Foreigners) as the "Gate of Dreams", the faithful vessel of an Outer God.
The modest wish such a girl conceals within her heart is to spend a quiet and graceful Summer holiday with the Master...
"...That's what a vacation is like, no? It would surely be something unavoidable if the hidden desires that have piled up day after day were to overflow..."
Those who crawl out from outer space──── Those Who Descend (Foreigners) are heretical and foreign to the Holy Grail War.
They say those who are blessed are obligated to wield their power for the sake of the world. However, the young girl does not agree. You can only see the madness in those who proclaim that this is just.
They also say that it is the duty of the knowledgeable to follow the road to revelation. However, the young girl does not believe in that. Instead of the wisdom slumbering the graveyard, there is more worth in the zeal of the visitor banging on the gate.
They say a king is among many people yet they are in solitude. Even so, the young girl does not wish for such a thing. She wishes to become the resort for a heart that refuses peace and repose.
The have-nots. Those without knowledge. Those who can not come in contact with others. She wants to guide the visitors hesitating at the boundary of the world that is divided like a beach ravaged by the waves.
Those Who Descend are heretical and foreign. Even these threats will spin the future that is interwoven with the people.
Personality[]
Although, in essence, her Saint Graph and personality are one and the same, based on her Ascension, her character and preferences differ in a complex and diverse manner.[9][10]
- First Ascension: The 'oldest sister' of the three Ascensions. Contrary to her terrifying appearance, she treats her Master magnanimously. Sometimes she would also maturely relent when she needs to, making her unexpectedly someone with common sense.[9][10]
- Second Ascension: The 'middle sister'. Possessing an earnest personality, she is the closest to the Puritan girl Abigail was historically. She's is curious, hardworking, meticulous, and reliable.[9][10]
- Third Ascension: The 'youngest sister'. She possesses a childish innocence that is adjoined with madness. It is a side of Abigail that she has not shown before brought forth by the Summer.[9][10]
She is accompanied by a pair of cats called Nosh and Luthar. When Abigail is out of sight, the two try to kill each other in their own friendly way.[9][10]
Appearance[]
Summer Abigail's First Ascension looks identical to the Third Ascension of her regular counterpart, with the main difference being that she wears a black, bikini. A mass of tentacles, black keys, and grey and black spotted cloth with a red underside float behind her. She also sports a keyhole on her forehead with a big red eye gazing out of it. Nosh, the black cat, and Luthar, the grey cat, appear monstrous in this stage, possessing flowers for heads.
In her second Ascension, Summer Abigail has regained the blonde hair and natural complexion of the First and Second Ascensions of the regular Abigail. Her skimpy bikini has been replaced by a white swimsuit with frilly dress-like edges with black and orange ribbons underneath and a mitre. She now carries a large stone wheel around her left arm, which she has also draped a jacket over. She has buns in her hair and white cloth floating behind her. The keyhole has shrunk and the eye has disappeared. Nosh and Luther have gained a more natural appearance, though have a black flower pattern showcasing a single eye where their faces should be.
In her Third appearance, she wears a white bikini and a matching hat. The stone wheel has been replaced by various floating rings and beachballs. The keyhole has disappeared entirely. Nosh and Luther both look like regular cats at this point.
Relationships[]
- Abigail Williams (Chaldea)
- "There are times when the another me is unpleasant and I can’t look at her. Truly self-hatred. There isn’t a better way to reflect on yourself than this, though... I’m a kid after all."[12]
- "While she has doubts too, the me with earnest feelings may be stronger than the me that became more intelligent after being struck with knowledge... As Master’s Servant, I wonder if I haven’t become weaker?"[12]
- "The Foreigner Abigail... She’s the same me, so if we exchanged our Western clothes and swimsuit, we would be completely undistinguishable, and Master would be in trouble. Well, Master would easily understand...? Hu~m, in that case, which Abby am I? If you don’t give a correct answer, we may punish you a little."[12]
- Nosh and Luthar
- "The black cat that often rests on my shoulder is called "Nosh", and the gray, kinda fat one is "Luthar". They are both my familiars I encountered in the dreamworld. Nosh is very elegant and handsome, while Luthar is super smart. That said, I'm a bit troubled by the fact that they keep sneaking away someplace I don't know to fight each other. I feel the need to pray to God. Yeah...is there some sort of reliable cat god who can help, you think?"[10]
- Ozymandias / Nitocris
- "I think Nosh and Luthar have taken an interest in the little sphinxes that follow Your Highness Ozymandias around. Awlad, was it? They're so mysterious and adorable. My favorite has to be...well of course, it's Medjed!"[10]
- Archetype Earth
- "What's wrong, Luthar? Hm-hm? You went to the very end of the dreamworld and found a very short but stout little princess in the form of a cat-like creature, who was spending her days cat-fighting with Mash? A-aha... I see, I guess even such an incoherent dream must exist within that boundless world."[10]
- Kyokutei Bakin
- "I don't like dogs who bark at nothing all the time. I just can't understand why they are like that. I guess the dogs with Bakin are a bit different, though. Still, a friendly meeting with Gilles de Rais' sea monsters would be way more fun."[10]
Abilities[]
In her first Ascension, Summer Abigail fights launching a pair of giant keys at her foes, which she uses to summon tentacled horrors and open gates to call upon other eldritch creatures, such as the hand of a giant ape-like creature and a large being which snaps at her foes. In this form Nosh attacks by growing tentacles out of his face while Luther shoots magical projectiles.
In her second and third stage, Summer Abigail fights with beach balls and floating rings which she and her cats launch and slam against their foes with great force, producing bursts of energy. Luthar is also capable of producing harmful rays of light in this stage.
Class Skills[]
- Existence Outside the Domain (EX Rank): Denotes a being that descended from the Void of Outer Space. Possessed by an evil god, Abigail houses a portent of Sut-Typhon's Authority within herself and is able to wield it.[10]
- Insanity (B Rank): Abigail is cursed with Insanity, being filled anxiety and fear, which also affects the worldviews and mentalities of those around her.[10]
- Divinity (B Rank): Having become the "Gate" for a higher-order existence lurking in Outer Space, Abigail is tinged with a strong divinity, an immeasurable threat that can even rewrite the image of the World. As compensation, that Insanity spread by Abigail cannot be removed. Especially in the dreamworld, the attunement between Abigail and her god grows.[10]
Personal Skills[]
- Slumber of Roses (B Rank): A deep slumber that leads to the mystical depths of the land of dreams. The aroma of the fragrant roses and the waves of intense heat releases the target's spirit from their body.[9][10]
- Loss of Sanity (B+ Rank): The urge for madness and release that exerts its influence on the defenseless spirit that's lost in a dream. However, this can cause more than just harm as it can become an opportunity to discover one's true self.[9][10] Upgrades to Midsummer Nights (A Rank) in Fate/Grand Order.[9][10]
- One Who Guides (A Rank): A Skill denoting her position as the servant of Sut-Typhon and the one who guides the holder of the Silver Key and gives them their final trial.[9][10]
Noble Phantasm[]
- Dreamlands: The world around the target is transformed, bringing them into a dream world without them knowing they have crossed the threshold. There, they bear witness to the true world hidden behind everyday life, losing the will to fight, and finding it increasingly difficult to maintain their ego.[9][10]
Santa[]
Due to circumstances, Abigail had become the Santa of Christmas 2024. Her Santa form is the fusion of the prima ballerina of her dreams, Santa, and the Sugar Plum Fairy character from the The NutcrackerWP ballet. In this form, she has transitioned from being Foreigner to a Pretender.[13]
Personality[]
Her fundamental personality remains unchanged. True to the Christmas spirit, she displays a brighter, happier side. Though indulging in uncharacteristic luxuries for a PuritanWP, she remains modest, stating that it is fine even if she receives no gifts. She has a kind and charitable nature as she wishes to be someone who gives to others, though this also makes her slightly nosy.[13]
Relationships[]
- Louhi
- Abigail Santa regards Louhi as a strict and fearsome witch, though one who also treats her with motherly warmth. Although she also finds Louhi overbearing, she seems to be fine with it, believing that is how mothers simply are.[14]
- Mysterious Alter Ego Λ
- Abigail is amazed by Alter Ego Λ's ballet moves, comparing her as a star atop a Christmas tree, and strives to follow her example.[14]
- Le Comte de Monte Cristo
- She feels a strange sense of familiarity regarding the Count of Monte Cristo, even calling him 'uncle.' It seems he feels the same, as he sometimes stares at her.[14]
- Daikokuten
- Although Abigail is supposed to be at war with the Daikokuten mice, being the Queen of the Land of Sweets, they treated her kindly and pampered her by serving her tea and sweets. She is uncertain if she should return the lady.[14]
- Other Chaldae Servants
- Abigail is delighted by the amount of Servants in Chaldae who are interested in ballet, wishing to perform for them all with a gala concert. Though the lack of facilities for such an event had her wondering if there is a Singularity with a stage big enough to fit them all.[14]
Abilities[]
In combat, Abigail Santa attacks her enemies by casting magic by performing ballet moves. She also uses her suitcase as a weapon along with the giant fork floating behind her and giant dinner knife.
She is also capable of summoning nutcracker soldiers, gingerbread swordsmen, and a giant teddy bear wielding a pair of cymbals to attack her enemies.
Class Skills[]
- Magic Resistance (A- Rank)[13]
- Territory Creation (C Rank)[13]
- Existence Outside the Domain (B Rank)[13]
- Prima of Illusions (A Rank)[13]
Personal Skills[]
- Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy (EX Rank): A Pretender skill that perfectly replicates the techniques of a prima ballerina, re-enacting them as a top-tier dancer. However, this doesn’t always equate to effectively conveying emotion to the hearts of others. Her growth in understanding the emotions of the roles she plays is still ongoing.[13]
- Pas de Deux (A Rank): As a Servant with a deepened bond with her Master, she demonstrates highly coordinated actions. She anticipates the Master’s steps, accelerating actions further with mutual understanding.[13]
- Gift of the Holy Night (A Rank): As a heartwarming symbol of happiness, she creates an array of sweets and gifts suitable for Christmas. She has the ability to sense what the other person subconsciously desires.[13]
Noble Phantasm[]
Abigail Santa's Noble Phantasm is Grand Pas de Deux. Passing through a dark forest covered in falling snow, Abigail arrives at a gorgeous stage in a land of sweets and performs a reenactment of The Nutcracker. Treating the battlefield as if it were a stage, it guides her to an advantageous position, making the most of her Master's command as well as her own abilities using a complex dreamlike magecraft to ensure success.[13]
Development[]
Creation and Conception[]
Abigail Williams and Abigail Williams (Summer) were designed by Kouhaku Kuroboshi in Fate/Grand Order.[2][10]
Abigail Williams and Abigail Williams (Summer) were written by Meteo Hoshizora in Fate/Grand Order.[2][10]
Comments from Illustrator[]
Abigail Williams[]
"I tried to design Abigail in a cutely grotesque style for her three stages where they have the look that the things that have been wrapped up would momentarily swell up before they would burst open. The butterflies and ribbons represent lost souls, and they are of the impression that they are closely coiling around Abby-chan’s surroundings. The butterflies will become moths as her Foreigner level rises during her last Ascension." (Kouhaku Kuroboshi) [2]
Abigail Williams (Summer)[]
"With this design I tried to do something like "something human-like clad in a veil of human form". I designed the buns in Abby-chan's hair as heads wearing veils, to give more of a "what am I even looking at?" feeling to her overall appearance. Her staffs are the hinges to a gate. The butterfly connection was already a common thing for her. The jacket shown in her third Ascension is actually a different one from the Jersey jacket she wore in her traveling outfit. I was happy to see that gag made it into Aoi Ohmori's manga adaptation, as well." (Kouhaku Kuroboshi)[10]
