Subspecies Singularity IV: Salem[]
Lavinia and her family were summoned to Salem by Raum when Abigail Williams requested a friend.[1] They understood this Salem wasn't correct, and found themselves trapped when they tried to escape. Raum appeared before them in his true form, and ordered them to summon Sut-Typhon, knowing it was their greatest wish.[3]
They eventually started to change, particularly Absalom himself. He came to believe that he was feuding with Abigail's parents. This made him even more eager to complete the Ritual of Descent to summon Sut-Typhon, even though that is dangerous to do in Salem.[3]
While Ritsuka's party were fighting the ghoul Tituba, Absalom watched from behind a tree. They and Randolph Carter notice him after she is destroyed.[2]
The next day, Carter and Matthew Hopkins come to his house to arrest him. Carter has accused him of summoning the ghouls that attacked Salem last night. When Lavinia and Abigail arrive, Absalom tells Lavinia to ask Captain Marsh for help, as he's indebted to their family. As he was taken into custody, he suspects Carter's actions are for what he did to his sister and her husand (Abigail's parents), claiming he merely returned them to their proper forms.[4]
That evening, he is hanged alongside his son and Lavinia's father, Noah, after the gallows were rebuilt by Charles-Henri Sanson. Later, he is among the ghouls that attack that night. However, unlike the others who rose from the town graveyard, he rose from Gallows Hill. He is soon confronted by Ritsuka, Sanson, and Nezha. At Sanson's request, they make sure not to kill him, so they ask him about the situation. They're unable to however because Carter kills him, saying his role is done. Absalom speaks Lavinia's name before disintegrating.[4]
It is presumed that Lavinia later digs out his remains from Gallows Hill.[5] They are then used to create the Powder of Ibn-Ghazi. Lavinia would later splash this on Carter to unveil him as Raum.
