This article or section contains information fully or partially copied from an official source. This information should be rewritten or removed.
The Witch hidden away in the present day. The last bird. A girl who has lived in the world of magecraft since a young age. Due to some circumstance, she had to distance herself from her homeland of England and move to a provincial city in Japan instead. A pureblooded witch who employs numerous Ploy Kickshaws as Familiars. As she is unsociable and unwilling to interact with others, she is able to live all on her lonesome without any problems.[1]
A romanticist who keeps her beliefs locked up inside her heart. The very picture of a girl who appears special, but perhaps is not. Both Aoko’s friend and her magecraft teacher. Alice’s mansion, her sole possession, is the stage upon which the story of Mahoutsukai no Yoru takes place.[1]
She is the only daughter of the Japanese Kuonji conglomerate. Her mother is the descendant of witches, with Yumina as her ancestor, so by all rights, Alice too should have been born as one of the few witches of the world, but as her mother had married the heir of the Kuonjis, Alice has instead ended up in her current position.[1]
As a child of foreign wizardry, Alice was not expected to have any property in the country, but because Aoko’s grandfather and Alice’s mother were on good terms, she now holds half of the Misaki lands as inheritance. In order to protect Shiroinuzuka where her mansion lies, Alice works together with Aoko to defend Misaki City.[1]
She is a wonderland witch who creates Ploy Kickshaws. Though their initial familiars went by different names, ever since Alice’s mother, as well as Alice’s mother’s mother, and so on, took a liking to fairy tales such as Mother Goose, they have been giving their familiars names and abilities similar to nursery rhymes.[1]
Alice’s mother, or rather, the Meinster Witches, could employ powerful “charms” that ignored not only the rules of human society, but even the rules of the magecraft world. However, ever since they learned how to create Ploy Kickshaws, they came to enjoy more mysterious witchery, allowing them to realize practically anything of a fairy-tale nature such as herbalism, shapeshiftery, three wishes, etc.[1]
As Yumina is their origin, the Meinsters are very close to Magicians themselves. The manifestation of fables and other magic you would see in fairy-tales such as miracles, alterations and outcomes impossible to explain through existing magecraft foundations, are what form their motif. Protecting fantasies from the law of physics and utilizing them through the means of the Fifth True Theoretical Factor.[1]
Appearance[]
Personality[]
Exterior[]
Unemotional, uncaring, and unexpressive. Her aura of unapproachability surpasses even that of Aoko. She is misanthropic, loathes anything rowdy and holds the stance that she will leave the room without a word if there is something she feels is unpleasant. Though that’s not a stance she holds because she is truly inexcitable at heart, but because that’s how witches are supposed to be.[1]
Having kept herself in control for so long, Alice does not realize that, at her core, she is pleasant, full of curiosity, a bit short-tempered as well as slightly sulky. Occasionally, these kinds of girly mannerisms can be glimpsed through the gaps of her icy mask.[1]
She never intends to harm commoners, but should they get in her way, she eliminates them as if plucking a flower. In that sense, she is extremely proactive.[1]
Alice apathetically ignores most things, but should anyone meddle with her pride (her witch nature and her mansion) then she will reprimand them straight up, or perhaps even eliminate them.[1]
Interior[]
She has a pessimistic and philosophical outlook on life. Though for what it’s worth, she is not adverse to the ways of man. Even if perhaps Alice sees the gossip of her schoolmates as something meaningless that does not concern her, she does not scorn it. She has discerned that it surely has some kind of meaning to them.[1]
However, she dearly treasures the memories she has of when her mother was alive. The reason why Alice is so closed off is because she does not want anyone else to besmirch those memories. And while she herself endeavors hard to be a witch, as explained prior, her true nature is the same as any ordinary girl.[1]
Aoko is special to her, both her sister-in-arms, as well as her accomplice. As Aoko is her very first “friend”, Alice both respects her and values her company. She sees Soujuurou as a “strange person”. That said, he’s not unpleasant, so she may as well wait and see how the situation evolves, basically.[1]
Also, she has an unusually intense streak of possessiveness. She is extremely afraid of losing things or being betrayed by people she trusts. She refuses to part with anything that is hers. And this is not something she just feels on the inside, but something which is clearly displayed by usual behavior.[1]
Her sense of humor is absolutely dreadful.[1]
Relationships[]
- Aoko Aozaki
- Alice: "So Aoko is here too. It seems she’s become a Servant under circumstances unlike my own. I have nothing to say about her. Just like I imagine she has nothing to say about me… She hasn't, right?"
- Robin: "Cuz it’d just turn into a sad fight with both of them digging at each other’s flaws, see?"[1]
- Soujuurou Shizuki
- "Huh? Shizuki is here? Why? Did Aoko do something stupid again? Something cosmically stupid? Sorry… I lost my composure. Please forget what I just said. Anyway, if he’s here, then you can leave the fighting to just the two of us. Our chemistry is galactically good, one could say."[1]
- Nursery Rhyme
- "It’s an honor to be able to invite Tommy Thumb to a tea party. Please, this way, our eternal friend. I have a great story just for this occasion, if I may tell."[1]
- Hans Christian Andersen
- "Fairy-tales from literature are outside my realm of expertise, but it’s not as if I’m not interested. Could you speak of them to me, Mister Andersen? I’m especially interested in the duckling story, as well as the love-letters you never published."[1]
- Kashin Koji
- "I’ve been to Kashin Koji’s room many times. I have much to learn from her skill with puppetry. I don’t have any problem with her personality, no. I mean, all skilled puppeteers are like that, are they not?"[1]
- Circe
- "The witch of all witches—the monster-spawning Circe. She’s completely different from how I imagined her. It was very mysterious to me how one could turn people into pigs using porridge, but I see how she set the scene now. It’s very informative."[1]
- Elizabeth Báthory / Elizabeth Báthory (Halloween) / Elizabeth Báthory (Brave) / Elizabeth Báthory (Cinderella) / Nine-Tattoo Dragon Eliza
- "Oh! …No, it’s nothing. Seeing her—Elizabeth Báthory—just surprised me a little. I was thinking of making a Ploy in her model at some point, but I probably shouldn’t. Or maybe… no, it probably wouldn’t be able to beat out the real thing."[1]

Abilities[]
In combat, Alice fights via her familiars Ploy Kickshaws such as Robin, Diddle Diddle, Thames Troll, and Tweedle Dee & Dum.
Skills[]
Class Skills[]
- Territory Creation (A Rank): Unlike Aoko, her workshop creation is first-class.[1]
- Item Construction (A Rank): Unlike Aoko, her item crafting is first-class.[1]
- Tradition Protection (B Rank): Special defensive attribute. Modern weapons cannot harm monsters, for only methods of harm that exist within folklore may have any effect. Has damage cut against all attacks outside of Noble Phantasms.[1]
- Yumina (C Rank): Of the Meinster lineage. Alice does not have any Guts as part of her Active Skill repertoire, but if she does revive through some application of it, practically all wounds on her body are healed. Increases amount of HP restored by Guts activation dramatically. In addition, death incurred by insta-death causes automatic activation of Guts. Alice cannot die except under a very specific condition. She is unkillable by acts of harm that use animosity, fear, chance, or nature as their driving force (she will resurrect no matter how badly she is injured), however, the one thing this unkillability does not trigger from are acts of harm motivated by love.[1]
Personal Skills[]
- Diddle Diddle (A Rank): It is a poison as sweet as candy, granted to the girl. “Hey diddle diddle, The cat and the fiddle,” The black cat chime wakes the fairy-tales from their slumber. The banquet of the dishes echo across the night, jumping over the moon and beyond. Crossing the stars, forever beyond its horizons. “...And the dish ran away with the spoon.”[1]
- Thames Troll (C Rank): It is the most precious arcanum in the world, bequeathed to the girl. “......Broken down, broken down.” Above the river are the many prisoners. Below are the many sacrifices. The bridge-like troll raises what appears a gigantic arm and then— “London Bridge is broken down, My fair lady.”[1]
- Lost Robin Rondo (E Rank): It is a story known by none, gifted to the girl. “Who did kill Cock Robin? I, said the Sparrow.” A black cat for the magician. A red robin for the last witch. “Who’ll bear the pall? We, said the Wren.” Though killed countless times, the knight’s heart is as clear as the skies. “When they heard the bell toll, For poor Cock Robin.” Someday, my dear lady, so loathed by death, I shall teach you the meaning of mourning.[1]
