Amleth Wotan (アムレス・ヴォータン, Amuresu Vōtan?) is a magus belonging to the Clock Tower.
Profile[]
Background[]
Amleth was a student of the El-Melloi Classroom in the 1990s under the tutelage of Kayneth El-Melloi Archibald, considered one of the best of the class. Having later risen to the rank of Pride, he is considered the most succesful out of his classmates. In reality, his achievements and even his magecraft are not something he accomplished by himself: instead he stole all the credit from his classmate Camus Peligor, and is heavily implied to be the reason behind her damaged circuits, although the exact circumstances are unknown. Peligor Corp has been restricting his money causing him to have financial issues since his ascension to Pride, having even asked Melvin for money.[1]
Personality[]
Amleth was the most prominent of the classmates who bullied Waver, telling him to stop wasting their professor's valueable time and that he won't do much without lineage, he also ordered Camus to not hang out with Waver as he was a failure.
As an adult, he seems less arrogant and more friendly to a degree as he didn't mess with Waver and was more casual with him. He also trusted Camus easily, believing that she would help him out of good faith and had no ill will againts him when in reality she was using him to fulfill her plan and had nothing but anger for him. He also was something of a coward, as seen in the flashback of Camus' incident he decided to run away instead of taking her to a safe place and when his secrets were revealed he got angry at Waver for it.

Abilities[]
Amleth is a practitioner of Shell Projection, a unique spell originally from the Peligor family. When demostrating it to Gray, he uses it to project a tiny gryphon that he employs as a familiar: it is completely autonomous and independent on its actions and, according to Olga Marie, it can last for a long time.
Using Waver Velvet's memories and a photo of adult Waver as a foundation, Amleth uses Shell Projection to project an image of the young Waver over his adult body, making everyone including Waver himself think he had physically regressed. The Shell Projection lasts for several days - a testament to the magecraft's duration in comparison to normal Projection. It also affects Waver beyond a mere illusion: his body rejects alcohol and tobacco, his clothes eventually fit his smaller body and then change to his past clothing, and even his thoughts and personality become more like his younger self.
Amleth performs the same spell on all of his old classmates using Waver's Shell Projection as the core, although Waver deduces that he required a few days between the two in order for Waver's perception to get accustomed to his younger body, drawing similarities with developing a photograph. Amleth also projects an image of their old classroom on top of the ballroom they were gathered, even causing people to be teleported to different locations to account for objects appearing in their former places like desks.[1]
