Archetype: Earth (真祖アルクェイド, Shinso Arukweido^?, True Ancestor Arcueid) is a playable character in Melty Blood, a fragment of Arcueid Brunestud's subconscious who decides to wake up and take over. She not only represents Arcueid at her most powerful, original form before her fall due to Roa's actions, but she also acts as the Archetype of the World.

Profile

Background

Archetype：Earth is Arcueid's true form, which shows her side as the touch of the planet as the True Ancestor of highest grade of purity. In order to become this form she must take back her stolen hair from Altrouge Brunestud. She is referred to as the guiding principle "Crimson Moon" however she is not a different personality, her principle of conduct is different but her essence is the same as that of Arcueid. She is the "shadow of Arcueid Brunestud", a possibility that may eventually accept the Crimson Moon's will.

Appearance

Unlike Arcueid, she wears her blonde hair long and flowing. She is also clad in a gorgeous, opulent dress, the inside of which is rather corset-like.

Personality

Her sense of morality is different from a person's. She enjoys ruling over things she can control and does what she likes without consideration for whether they're "good" or "bad". She sees human culture as pathetic and talks down to people as a queen would, but does not dislike humanity. On at least one occasion, she's thought of melting the polar ice caps and wrecking continents because she could, even though this would kill the few people she's grown to love and care for like Shiki Tohno. But she's also capable of genuine affection and compassion, like how she commends Riesbyfe Stridberg after her failed attempt at avenging Dust of Osiris in her scenario. She wouldn't even mind if Shiki fell in love with someone else so long as he's happy and unharmed, unless that someone else is Ciel.

Role

Melty Blood Actress Again

In her scenario, Archetype：Earth says she will borrow Arcueid's body for a while to experience the world of man for the first time after being in the subconscious mind of Arcueid for several years. In the ending of her scenario in Actress Again, she eventually decides to destroy the human race, believing that since humanity was accelerating the destruction of the planet, she would simply destroy it first by committing suicide, having learned that self-destruction was human nature. In doing so, she will stop the rotation of the planet and destroy all of humanity save for a handful of humans, including Shiki and Ciel, whom she promises to spare. Ciel challenges Archetype：Earth to protect the planet, but she is easily defeated. Just as Ciel is despairing, Arcueid appears and challenges Archetype：Earth inside her own mind, leaving a confused Ciel to cry out that no matter what kind of high-ranked model she becomes, Arcueid is still Arcueid and therefore an idiot. After the battle ends Archetype：Earth says she had a lot of fun, although their father would be disappointed by the result. Archetype：Earth then thanks her because she believes their future will not end up as he, Crimson Moon, would have wanted. Finally, Archetype：Earth tells her that she can go back to that world that she loves to babysit so much.

Melty Blood Back Alley Alliance – Nightmare

Towards the end of the story, Archetype：Earth bursts through the door of the simulation Sion Eltnam Atlasia was stuck in, asking who summoned her and why. The destroyed simulated futures having disturbed her rest, she asks Sialim Eltnam Re-Atlasia to explain why she did this, and Sialim explains she tried to simulate all this to convince people of how dire the situation in her world was so everyone would start cooperating in preparing for the 'after' of their own ruin. When Sion hears this, she hacks into Sialim's systems and starts generating more futures, until they're so many they appear practically uncountable, and declares that this is her answer. Sialim protests, calling it unrealistic, but when Archetype：Earth judges between the two of their conclusions, she says that Sion is right, adding that the World moves at the mercy of the fluctuations of the Spiritrons and nothing can stop it, not even the Human Order. All it does is merely change. Afterward, she pushes the real Sion's consciousness out of the simulated Sion, and returns her to her world.

In the last chapter, she asks what every actor of the plot desires: Sialim and Rani VIII answer "to touch the sky"; Past and Present Olga Marie Animusphere answer "the future"; and Sion says she has too many things she wishes for so she can't say it in one word.

Abilities

Archetype：Earth is the brain of the planet, in other words a medium that contains the soul of the planet. As such in this state she has full Authority over the entire planet, Ciel states she would be able to melt all the ice at the north and south poles, or disrupt the earth’s axis and play pinball with the continents. Her appearance, abilities, and very thoughts could be called the Crimson Moon. She is referred to as an Ultimate One by Riesbyfe Stridberg. Shiki Ryougi recognizes an overwhelming aura flowing from her during their conversation, stating that she cannot see her death, going as far to say that she does not have a death, and that she is a monster.

Combat

She refers to the atmosphere as her limbs and fights by creating, combining and ruling the elements themselves. When Shiki strayed off into Arcueid's dream and met Archetype: Earth, in revenge for when Shiki cut her into 17 pieces, She used a net of light to disintegrate his body into 18 pieces like a shredded egg. She manipulates light and can use an attack called Alt Nagel, which is described as an immensely destructive pillar of wind which stretches as far as the heavens, and Alt Schule, a destructive vacuum wave that splits the atmosphere. Her last arc the End binds an enemy in a shining sphere before blowing them away with a supernova-like explosion.

• Regression to the Age of Gods: Princess Arc qualifies for "Regression" in other words she possesses her own type of Magic Circuits known as Regression to the Age of Gods. This ability represents the extent at which Arcueid is capable of reproducing Mysteries that existed on Earth before Magic.

  • Quantity (Rank A++): Quantity represents power. The higher the quantity, the greater the degree of influence over the surrounding environment.
