Artoria Caster (アルトリア・キャスター, Arutoria Kyasutā?), Class Name Caster (キャスター, Kyasutā?), is a Caster-class Servant summoned by Ritsuka Fujimaru in the Grand Orders of Fate/Grand Order.

Identity[]
Artoria Caster is a version of Artoria Pendragon who was the "Child of Prophecy" chosen by the "Staff of Selection" rather than the Sword of Selection. Her appearance is during the midway point in her journey of eventually arriving at Camelot.[1]
Sixteen years ago, Ainsel of the Mirror Clan foretold that in sixteen years' time the Child of Prophecy would ring the six bells, overthrow the evil Queen Morgan, and unite humans and fairies as King of Britain.[7] Artoria was found on a boat as a baby around that time along with the Staff of Selection, and raised in Tintagel by Ector knowing the staff marked her as the Child of Prophecy that Ainsel spoke of. She was taught magecraft by "Merlin". She is not part of any clans within the English Lostbelt.
Unlike other versions of Artoria, Caster does not have the dragon and king traits nor does she have the Pendragon surname, as she does not have the same history as the Artoria who became King Arthur. She is a fairy created by the planet itself to be Lostbelt Britain's savior after the previous Child of Prophecy, Aesc, failed.
History[]
The "Child of Prophecy" that saves the Fairy Nation. A special fairy that was dispatched from the inland sea of the Planet... from Avalon to the surface along with the "Staff of Selection". After drifting into the Lake DistrictWP, she was placed on a boat along with many treasures by the decision of the Chief of the Mirror Clan, eventually reaching the coast of Tintagel and being raised as a fairy of Tintagel from then on.[2]
In the Lostbelt, she is the same being as the "someone" who was eventually burdened with the holy sword in Proper Human History. Also, an "accumulation device" sent to collect information on the surface, in order to produce the holy sword - a decisive weapon against the "Threat to the Planet".[2]
Since she is not a fairy originated from the Fairy Nation Britain, the fairies from Britain have an instinctive antipathy against her. Conversely, for fairies who hate all fairies from Britain, fairies not born in the Six Clans and fairies who hate themselves to begin with, the "fairy of paradise" is a source of solace.[2]
Artoria Caster fulfilled her duties in the Fairy Nation and vanished. Afterwards, having consecrated her body to the holy sword and turned into the holy sword itself, she became an anthropic principle auxiliary device that aids "those who oppose a threat that endangers the Planet". Its name is Artoria Avalon.
Appearance[]
She looks exactly like Aesc did.[8] This is because fairies who have the same purpose are born with the same appearance.[citation needed]
Artoria Caster's appearance combines elements of both fantasy and a steampunk aesthetic. She has a youthful appearance with striking green eyes and long, flowing hair of a golden hue, with slight curls at the ends. Her hair is partially tied in a low ponytail, with two strands framing her face.
Her attire is reminiscent of a stylized, fantasy-inspired version of a military uniform from the turn of the century. She wears a soft, grey cap with a side buckle, contributing to a militaristic look. Her outfit consists of a sleeveless, white tunic with a high collar, accentuated by a black bow tie and a green, gem-like ornament at the center of her chest. The tunic is detailed with black pipings and buttons. Around her waist, she sports a brown leather belt that holds a utility pouch. The skirt portion of her tunic is layered, with a ruffled, white underskirt topped by an orange-trimmed, white overskirt. She wears dark stockings that reach mid-thigh, complemented by knee-high brown boots with darker toe capsh. The boots have a slight heel and are adorned with golden buckles, resonating with the steampunk influence of her overall design.
In her hands, Artoria Caster wields an ornate staff, topped with a celestial orb encased in a dark claw-like structure, trailing ribbons and a tassel. The staff's design is elaborate and intricate, with metallic and gemstone details that match the colors of her outfit.
Personality[]
An innocent and very energetic girl. Artoria has the figure of a perfectly commonplace girl who hates to lose, is strong in the face of criticism and adversity, values the surrounding atmosphere more than anything else, and hides her true feelings from everyone.
This Artoria was summoned to Chaldea earlier. Her relationship with the Master is said to be more along the lines of "a fellow friend one can rely on" rather than say "a hero and a mage".
Staring in wonder when looking at the King of Knights Artoria, becoming depressed when looking at the Artoria who became a tyrant, and happily smiling while saying "That looks nice!" from the bottom of her heart when looking at the swimsuit Artoria; such is this Artoria.[1]
She knows her destiny but is afraid to face it and wishes that she was not the Child of Prophecy. Feeling unworthy of and not wanting such a lofty title, she does her best to hide her true identity, but she gets noticeably nervous whenever someone asks about the Child of Prophecy’s identity. When people do find out about her true identity, they usually react with doubt and surprise since she is initially weaker than the average fairy. Artoria, for her part, just wants to be considered a normal girl. She is aware that most people only to support her in fulfilling her destiny for their own self-serving ends and their self-preservation. But she also knows when people want to genuinely support her, even accepting worthless junk given as gifts because she can see the gratitude in their eyes.
Her pessimism about her destiny and inferiority complex resulted from her treatment by the people of Tintagel. For sixteen years, she endured as they forced their expectations on her while abusing for being a burden. The only person who cared for her was Ector. Yet despite her mistreatment, Artoria was left severely traumatized when the Fang Clan razed Tintagel to the ground. Any scene that reminds her of that trauma causes Artoria to be consumed by rage and hatred towards the perpetrators. In general, she refuses to confront her past even when forced to.
In truth, she doesn’t care about saving Britain, and deceives herself to fulfill her duty to meet others’ expectations. Instead, she fights for the sake of humans and fairies for a currently undisclosed reason. She also fears having nowhere to go once her duty is fulfilled. But she will grow to see all lives on the planet as the same and vows to protect them, regardless if they’re from the Proper Human History, Singularities, or Lostbelts.
The Artoria from Proper Human History had a straightforward personality, but the Artoria from the Lostbelt is not that strong. In the inside, she is a pessimist with extremely frail and timid disposition.
In her heart, she lets out a sigh while thinking that both herself as a "Child of Prophecy" and the surrounding people that self-destruct as they place their expectations on such a thing are foolish.
(It is not like she has burned out or is looking down on them. She is merely feeling heavy.)
Still, since she is mindful about the surrounding mood, Artoria does not reveal those inner aspects of herself and instead ends up keeping up with the appearances by saying "ok, leave it to me!" and behaving exactly as the surroundings expect. All because she doesn't want to have a quarrel with anyone, doesn't want to hate anyone.
A hard-working commoner who is bad at the essentials, makes a lot of blunders and stumbles all over her path. Her only merit is the fact she is quick to get up after a fall. As such, her stock phrase is "sorry for being weak. I will work hard, I will work hard".
Her inner monologue at times like these is something like "I'm scared of fighting. Mutual hate is tiresome. I'm much happier living normally."
Although she is constantly "finding faults in herself" in this manner, one can say that the very fact that her personality which "worries about the surroundings, without falling to evil nor forgetting about decorum" does not waver no matter what sort of harsh circumstances or cruel treatment she faces serves as a proof that she is an aristocrat.
The definite difference between her and Oberon is that one point.
During the journey of pilgrimage, while the motivation of the fake Child of Prophecy was "I'm scared, but I'll work hard because I want to help everyone", the motivation of the true Child of Prophecy was "I'm scared, but saying such a thing would make everyone disappointed, so I have no choice but to work hard".
She kept hiding a negative mental state in which "everyone is scary, society is disgusting and I can't keep my motivation up even if you tell me to save the world. But since going against the surroundings is also unpleasant, I'll work hard as a saviour".
Although that ended up becoming "a noble deed in the eyes of others", "the same way of being as King Arthur", Artoria Caster's inner aspects are awfully abject, pessimistic and negative. As such, she is always finding faults in herself.
"I was able to persevere this time, but most likely, next time, I will probably end up giving up on everything..."
If the Fairy Kingdom is a fairy-tale pictured by Morgan, the journey of pilgrimage is a fairy-tale describing Artoria's growth.
Despite appearing to fill the same role as Dorothy - the protagonist of "Wizard of Oz" - she actually possesses a weakness akin to an aggregation of the scarecrow that can't walk properly (can't see his own feet, has no wits), the woodcutter with a hollow heart and the lion that don't want to display courage.
Why was this Artoria able to remain as the "Child of Prophecy" to the very end? What was she fighting for?
That answer becomes the end of her story.[2]

Avalon le Fae: Fae Round Table Domain[]
Tired of the ridicule, the lies, and her mission, Artoria went to the Nameless Forest, hoping its fog will make her forget everything. However, as a Fairy of Paradise, she is immune to such effects. But she still refused to accept her role, and thus pretended that she lost her memories. As a result, she became resident of Cornwall.
She later meets Ritsuka when they wake up in the tent shared by those who lost their memories to the Nameless Forest. Ritsuka calls her Mash, which Artoria goes along with to maintain the lie that she also lost her memories. She then asks Ritsuka where they are, calling them by the name on their nametag ("Lysander", if male; "Hermia", if female). She lies that she only remembers collapsing in the Nameless Forest. Tristan then enters the tent, only remembering that he is Ritsuka’s servant. Ritsuka can’t remember his name, so Tristan gives them the name on his nametag: "Tristram". The three believe they were traveling companions, and try to recall what they were doing and who they are. Artoria says the village’s fairies found them.[6][4][8][7][10][11][12][13][14][15][16][17][18][19][20][21][22][23][24][25][26][27][28][29][30][31]
As she rings the pilgrim's bells to truly become the Child of Prophecy, Artoria dreams of Artoria Pendragon's past.

When U-Olga Marie has a dream where she fights all of the Grand Servants at once, Artoria Avalon appears as Grand Saber.[32]
Other appearances[]
In Fate/Grand Carnival Artoria appears briefly during an Oni-Cure segment, much to the surprise of Ibaraki-douji who complains about there being a new character with that face. At the end of the skit Artoria faces the camera and tells the viewers that it's nice to meet them.
Abilities[]
Artoria Caster is the second Fairy of Paradise,[20][21][24] a being created by Faerie Britain's system akin to the Counter Force that the isle itself uses to fight back when it is in danger.[8] Normally, there are two kinds of Fairies, those whose appearance never changes from the time they are born, and the kind who change at every stage of their life. While Artoria is of this second type, Da Vinci says that there still aren't many past examples of a fairy's abilities growing so much as Artoria after ringing two Bells of Pilgrimage.[18] Despite Artoria having been born as a low-class fairy that doesn't even belong to any of the Six Clans,[12][15] it was widely believed that she would become stronger than Morgan once she reached her full potential.[13] While Aurora and Grimm the Wise initially claimed that the Child of Prophecy is the only one that could hope to defeat Morgan,[8][21] the former later confessed to Spriggan that Artoria has no hope of defeating the High Queen.[19] Even during her pilgrimage, Artoria was convinced that it would be impossible for her to beat Morgan.[20]
Combat[]
Artoria wields the Staff of Selection, which was sent from paradise, just like Lostbelt Percival's Spear of Selection.[15] Oberon regards it as a rare weapon that would be very effective against opponents who have never seen it before, especially as a distraction.[4] In her first Ascension, Artoria wears a hat given to her by Ector. While it's not a helmet, it still protects her head and can hide her face a little.[29]
Artoria was born with almost no Magical Energy. At the age of four, her quantity was so low that some Fairies claimed she may as well be a Human.[29] Ten years later, Artoria still had so little Magical Energy that she couldn't even have survived against a single Black Dog.[18] At the age of sixteen,[4] she still had less Magical Energy than most fairies. While she had more Magic Circuits (called Divine Patterns in fairies) than a human, they were still less than the average Fairy. In fact, Da Vinci states that even Mike must be stronger than her. Due to her low quantity of Od, she has to fudge it with Magecraft.[8] However, Da Vinci still regards her as a powerful Mage.[13] Oberon was also impressed that Artoria was already strong enough to handle a murder of night crows without much trouble.[4] While Artoria claims that she can hold her own against any Fairy Knight when it comes to defeating Mors,[14] she was barely able to defeat Knight Grant even with the support of Tristan, Da Vinci, and Ritsuka Fujimaru.[8] Artoria claims that the Calamity of Norwich could have knocked her all the way back to the Nameless Woods with one flick of its finger.[13]
Artoria was able to defeat Fairy Knight Tristan in a battle of Magecraft inside of Muryan's Fae Domain which reduces the strength of all targets to the level they were born with. Although Tristan was still dozens of times stronger than Artoria, when it comes to magecraft, she couldn't keep up. Artoria proves to be superior when Tristan runs out of magecraft trinkets and starts fighting with her hands.[7]
Unlike most Fairies, Artoria was born with immunity to IronWP.[29] However, as the Fairy of Paradise, she was also conceived with her latent power sealed.[22] She could only unlock it by ringing the Bells of Pilgrimage,[22] the transformed corpses of the original six fairies.[24] The more bells Artoria rings, the more Divine Patterns she gains. Da Vinci explains that both Humans and Fairies alike are born with a set number of "nerves". However, in Artoria's case, she gets stronger by increasing her number of nerves rather than through training like most people.[18] The bells also restore the knowledge and memories she has always had locked away. Every time she rings a bell, she learns more about her duty and destiny.[22]
- First Bell (Norwich): After ringing one bell, Artoria became considerably stronger.[16][17] In terms of Magical Energy, Totorot claims that she's about equal to one of Morgan's fingers.[17] Artoria fights Fairy Knight Gawain using three pseudo-Command Spells as decoys to counter her Magical Energy absorption. Thanks to the support of Oberon, Da Vinci, and Ritsuka Fujimaru, she's able to stall Gawain until Senji Muramasa arrives.[17]
- Second Bell (Salisbury): Oberon believes that in this state, Artoria is probably just a bit stronger than Fairy Knight Tristan. However, he claims that Barghest still has ten times the strength and skill Artoria does, so fighting the former one-on-one would be suicide.[18] After ringing two Bells of Pilgrimage, Artoria fought Fairy Knight Tristan again inside Muryan's Fae Domain, this time, without Magecraft restrictions. Despite having support from Beryl Gut, Artoria and Ritsuka Fujimaru managed to defeat Tristan fair and square, exposing her Baobhan Sith True Name in the process.[19]
- Third Bell (Gloucester)[19]
- Fourth Bell (Orkney): In this form, Artoria's Saint Graph is stronger. While she might still be no match for Morgan, no ordinary Fairy stands a chance against her anymore.[21] Despite teaming up with Super Mash, Artoria Caster is initially overpowered by Beryl Gut using Woodwose's Saint Graph mainly because they lack a weapon capable of penetrating the Organs of the Exhaust Heat of the Planet. However, after being poisoned by Scandinavia Peperoncino with the Moss and Retaliating Curse, the two of them manage to defeat Beryl.[23]
- Fifth Bell (Oxford): In this state, Artoria has enough Magical Energy to cover the entire Round Table Army.[24]
- Sixth Bell (Londinium): Having reached the end of her pilgrimage, Artoria's Saint Graph and Magical Energy are said to be equal to Morgan's. Da Vinci also states that she is as strong as a Lostbelt King.[25] However, even with this tremendous increase in power, Artoria didn't come close to reaching Morgan's level.[27] Morgan calls Artoria a fool for thinking she could match her after completing a single pilgrimage, strongly implying she herself has gone through multiple pilgrimages. According to Morgan, a single journey does not give Artoria enough power to match even her little finger.[25] In fact, it took the combined efforts of Artoria Caster, Super Mash, Percival, and Ritsuka Fujimaru to defeat one of Morgan's clones, and they were so worn out that they couldn't fight anymore by the end.[26] Cnoc na Riabh also claims that Artoria wouldn't be able to use Morgan's Throne because she doesn't have a Saint Graph capable of reforming the contracts of every Fairy in Britain.[27] On the other hand, Grimm the Wise and Da Vinci state that Artoria can hold her own against Fairy Knight Lancelot and Barghest and that she would be fine even if either of them attacked her.[25]

Artoria's true purpose can only be executed in the pilgrimage's final destination, the Site of Selection in Avalon.[28][29] Although Artoria doesn't end up becoming a new Holy Sword for Chaldea to use due to Senji Muramasa's intervention, she still gains a new Magecraft theory: Holy Sword Creation. In this state, Artoria is stronger than before.[29] According to Grimm the Wise, Artoria now stands a real chance at taking down Cernunnos. That is why the Calamities target her. When Chaldea faces Dragon of Albion's Remnant, Artoria claims that she can't protect the Storm Border's main engine and fight her simultaneously, as it is out of her capabilities.[30]
Magecraft[]
Normally, Fairies perform Sacraments without any help from basic Magecraft, Spells, or Mystic Codes. Due to this, Magecraft is less valued by them, and they ridicule those that bother using it.[4] In Artoria's case, she was almost born using it.[11] Similarly to what happened in Proper Human History, she was taught the basics of magecraft by "Merlin" at the age of six whenever she was by herself.[8][12][19][29] For one year, "Merlin" taught her all kinds of Spells like Heating, Detection, Healing, Linguistics, Camouflage, Lockpicking, Stealth attacks, Explosives, and Obstacles.[29] Everything else she knows was self-taught.[6][19] After gaining a bit of confidence, Artoria claims that she can pull out anything with her "Merlin Magecraft", be it infiltration, lockpicking, or brewing sleep potions.[8] In fact, Senji Muramasa claims that her ability to unlock doors resembles a modern-day Nezumi KozōWP or JiraiyaWP.[19] Artoria also states that she only managed to escape Woodwose's attack on Tintagel thanks to Merlin's magecraft.[12]
She has also displayed the following uses of Magecraft:
- Reinforcement: Artoria regularly uses her Magecraft to reinforce her allies in combat.[11][15][18] Senji Muramasa praises her external reinforcements, saying they aren't half bad, and that it makes his scabbard feel smoother than ever with her around.[11] A Round Table Army soldier also claims that his sword hits harder than ever despite his body feeling as light as a feather.[18] Furthermore, even though Lostbelt Gareth was initially too weak to kill a Mors single-handedly, Artoria's reinforcement magecraft allowed her to kill several of them.[15] Her magecraft has the weakness of not lasting very long, so she warns her allies to not get too far from her.[18]
- Protection Spells: She can use a protection Spell that prevents beasts from coming after the target. Since it's a form of Magecraft and not Sacrament, it only lasts a few weeks.[6]
- Wild Crow Summoning: Artoria was able to summon a wild pack of birds by mistake by skipping a couple of steps when making a Bounded Field.[4]

- Magic Resistance (A Rank): Cancel spells of A-Rank or below, no matter what greater Magecraft it is.[3]
- Item Construction (B Rank): Able to create tools that harbor Magical Energy. That said...the most common ones are "activated by running magical energy through them/one-time uses". The latter mostly resemble bombs.[3]
- Territory Creation (EX Rank): The one who stands within the white walls of Camelot—stronghold of the Human Order. She gives form to one of the greatest defensive formations in a confrontation with a "Threat to Humanity".[3]
- Fairy Eyes (A Rank): Not the Mystic Eyes that people possess, but the field of vision that "switches over the World", which Fairies are endowed with from birth. The fairy eyes possessed by high ranking fairies are described as eyes capable of seeing through all lies and projecting the truth. Since good will and ill will are both lumped together by fairies, this is a mostly meaningless supernatural power as far as they are concerned. Still, nothing good will come out from a Human that feels perplexed by the differences between good and evil possessing these eyes. Because of these eyes, Artoria Caster could see all the lies and true intentions of people. This is why, as far as she is concerned, the human world is a "storm of ill will" and both fairies and humans felt equally "scary, disgusting". The only thing she saw in her dreams while sleeping was this "storm of ill will". Originally, it wouldn't be surprising if this condition made her go mad and caused her to forsake Britain. Still, the only thing that served as a source of hope for her was a small blue star that shined all by itself beyond the storm.[2] This ability allows Artoria to see a person's True Name. While the Fairy Knight's Curse prevents Fairies in the British Lostbelt from reading Barghest's name, Artoria could see through it because she can always tell when someone is lying.[29]

Personal Skills[]
- Charisma of Hope (B Rank): Raised as the Child of Prophecy, Artoria, who began her journey, is endowed with a Charisma where the people feel like they can depend on and expect things from her. Its effect is similar to the “Dreamlike Charisma that raises one’s morale” that the Mage Merlin displays.[1][3]
- Protection of the Lake (A Rank): A protection given by the Fairies of the Lake. This blessing, or oath, was given to the Child of Prophecy.[1]
- Avalon le Fae (A Rank): A power concealed under the name "Protection of the Lake". The power possessed by a fairy of paradise to bless life and protect the target's strength of fate from all sorts of corruption.[2][3]
- Sword of Selection (EX Rank): A Skill that shows how Artoria, who was chosen along with the Staff of Selection, will eventually reach her fated conclusion.[1]
- Holy Sword Creation (EX Rank): A power concealed under the name "Sword of Selection".[2] A Skill which demonstrated to Artoria Caster the way she ought to be to find her way towards her ending. An Arts version of Merlin's "Hero Creation". Raises Arts performance, grants 1 turn of invincibility (the image of Avalon the scabbard), and grants special attack against a Threat to Humanity.[3] Once this power has truly awoken, everything that she creates will end up gaining the "sword"-attribute.[2][3]
Noble Phantasm[]
Artoria Caster's Noble Phantasm is Around Caliburn. It strengthens and protects her allies in battle.[3] While Artoria can't protect the entire Storm Border with her Anti-Purge Defense, she can still shield its main engine for a few minutes. Her defensive barrier was powerful enough to block Dragon of Albion's Remnant's heatrays.[30]
Twelve Rhongomyniads[]
During the battle against Cernunnos, Artoria connected her consciousness to Morgan's Throne and became one with the Twelve Rhongomyniads installed on Camelot's main gate. However, that Spell had been designed by Morgan with the assumption that it would be a genius like her the one to use it. Since Artoria still lacked sufficient circuits to use all twelve lances, her body was put under a lot of stress when the surge of Magical Energy ran through her body. It dilated her blood vessels, nerves, bones, and muscles from the inside out. Her eyeballs ruptured and her lungs burned. The lances had the necessary firepower to harm Cernunnos and turn even Camelot's impenetrable walls to dust. However, when Artoria first used them, they were still too weak to destroy all the layers of Curses protecting the god's Divine Core. Rhongomyniad was Morgan's Magecraft, so it is natural Artoria is unable to demonstrate its full potential.[30]
After throwing away her hopes of coming out alive, Artoria determines that while the lances may be beyond her control, she could still make use of their structure. Comparing Rhongomyniad to a gun turret, all Artoria needed was to load them with different ammunition. In this case, the "Essence of the Holy Sword". Artoria then changes the Magic Circuit used from the throne to her heart, and the Magical Energy from Camelot to herself, resulting in the ritual changing from Rhongomyniad: Spirit Vein Closing Armament, to Excalibur: Dragon Vein Burning Armament. Using all the magical energy that maintained her form, she launched the 12 Rhongomyniads at Cernunnos simultaneously. This evaporated 90% of his Curses layers and damaged its body enough to reveal its Divine Core.[30]

Artoria Avalon[]
In her final Ascension, Artoria becomes Artoria Avalon (アルトリア・アヴァロン, Arutoria Avaron?), the proper figure of the girl originally summoned here in the British Lostbelt. What we see in the first and second Ascensions is but an emulation of the way of being of a "departed someone", which created her... not the memories as a Fairy of Paradise, but the memories of spring from when she traveled as the Child of Prophecy.[3]
Artoria Avalon is the one who offered herself to casting the Holy Sword, consequently becoming the very concept of a Holy Sword. A nameless king who renders assistance in battle, whether it be the past, present, or the future, as long as there exists someone who requires a Holy Sword.[3]
Oberon wonders if Artoria Avalon is Artoria Caster's future form, or if she became a special guardian.[31]
Abilities[]
Artoria Avalon is a Artoria Caster's Heroic Spirit form as an Avalon le Fae.[31] She's a supporting device for the Human Order, which aids "those who oppose a threat that endangers the planet".[3]
While their circumstances may differ, Artoria Avalon is the same kind of existence as the Throne of Heroes itself which allows her to choose and dispatch Heroic Spirits of her choosing. It is through this right that she was able to bring forth Cnoc na Riabh as a Heroic Spirit out of personal favoritism.[33]
Artoria Avalon was able to wake up Super Mash from her dream inside the Insect of the Abyss' stomach.[31]

When she becomes Artoria Avalon, she can use many of her treasured swords as Catalysts for Magecraft.[3] These swords include:
- Shadow-Treading CarnwennanWP (影踏みのカルンウェナン?)[1][3]
- Lightning Flash Spumador (稲妻のスピュメイダー?)[1][3]
- Mythological Mystic Code Marmyadose (神話礼装マルミアドワーズ?): A large sword that has the appearance of a staff. It was forged by a God of Fire and granted to great heroes in the past. It is said that this sword exceeds Excalibur in power alone, and during times when King Arthur would lend Excalibur to Gawain, she used this large sword as a substitute.[1][3]
Artoria Avalon claimed that she and Ritsuka Fujimaru needed Super Mash's help to defeat Oberon Vortigern in close range combat. Thanks to all three of them teaming up, they are able to deal serious damage to Vortigern's Spiritual Core, making him fall from the Storm Border's deck. According to Artoria, the Holy Sword is a double-edge blade for Vortigern. It is both a source of sustenance and poison.[31]
- Noble Phantasm
Artoria Avalon's Noble Phantasm is Round of Avalon. She manifests the Camelot of Twilight and bestows the gift of a "Knight of the Round Table" to those who fight alongside her.[3]
Swimsuit[]
Needless to say, her class is Berserker due to her her rivalry with Morgan. Her third Ascension is the "Guardian of the Holy Sword" and is named A.A. Normally, Artoria Caster and A.A. can be said to be "the same being," but for this occasion only, they have been divided into two and are working as separate individuals.[34]

When she become a berserker, she only strengthen herself. The familiars that appear during battle are made from essence of the holy sword, and each Orca: Totsuka-no-Tsurugi named Ector and Golden Eagle: Mistilteinn named Mach.[34]

Artoria Caster's Noble Phantasm is Hopewill Camelot. Anti-Disaster Noble Phantasm that reproduces the formula. A spell that exorcised the curse disaster in Lostbelt Britain. Excalibur and Rhongomyniad stacking technique.

Creation and Conception[]
Artoria Caster was designed by Takashi Takeuchi in Fate/Grand Order.
During Fate/stay night, it is noted that if Artoria practiced magecraft, there was a high possibility she would quit after half a year.[35]
In Nasu's first draft for the British Lostbelt, Artoria Avalon was going to become Grand Saber.[36]

"Castoria started out with her second ascension design, and then her first and third came along. Her second ascension design was drawn up as a rough sketch during the early stages of the second part [of the game]. When imagining a Caster-class Artoria, the idea that came to mind was “an Artoria sneakily stealing Merlin’s staff and traveling in secret, disguised as a magus”. Both the silhouette, and the pose itself, were almost done already at that point. When it came to formally creating her character, I made her first ascension based on what I saw of her role in the script and such. I also wanted to give her a fitting final stage, so her third ascension had its concept completely revamped, attempting to give her a new design based on “an Artoria who mastered magecraft”. As work on this design progressed, I really did feel like all the different experiences I’d gotten via FGO came together, and it gave me a sort of special emotional attachment to this project."
