- For the goddess in Proper Human History see Ashtart.
Ashtart (アシュタレト?), Class Name Avenger (アヴェンジャー, Avenjā?), is a Masterless Avenger-class Servant Universe Servant in Saber Wars II, before being summoned by Ritsuka Fujimaru after the event in the Grand Orders of Fate/Grand Order, she also appears as an enemy-only Saber-class Servant.
Profile[]
Identity[]
Ashtart (アシュタレト, Also translated Ashtoret or Astarte?) is the Servant Universe version of Ashtart. In this timeline she is one of the two alter egos of Ashtart Origin. She is the good half of the goddess Ashtart, the Cerebral Corpus of the goddess, raised to be evil by Warrior of Darkness MUNENORI. She eventually became the three hundred and seventy-sixth leader of the Space Shinkageryu.[5]
When summoned by Chaldea, she is Ishtar Ashtart's first Ascension.
Appearance[]
Just like Space Ishtar, Ashtart looks younger than regular Ishtar and even wears the same ribbons as her.[6] However, Ashtart has gray empty eyes, that display pupils when she shows emotion, and glows red when she displays strong emotions. Instead of a crown that looks much like PHH Ishtar's, she dons six small horns. Ashtart wears a tight black bodysuit with gold accents, and holsters for her KatanaWP and WakizashiWP on her sides. The Left Katana has a glowing blue blade, the handle is wrapped with a blue Tsuka-maki, is attached with a with a sharp six-pointed Tsuba, and matches with a blue Sageo wrapped on its sheathe. The Right Wakizashi has a glowing red blade, its handle wrapped in a black Tsuka-maki, attached with a circular Tsuba, and has a red Sageo wrapped on its sheathe. Both sheathes are colored black.
Personality[]
Compared to Space Ishtar, Ashtart is the cool-headed one.[3]
Composed, somewhat aggressive polite language. A young lady of great upbringing. Fundamentally earnest and polite. However, she is always in a bad mood (angry). When she reveals her true colors, she becomes the usual Rin. She's got a sharp tongue when expressing her anger.[2] The genius swordswoman raised by the evil organization, Space Shinkageryu, who eventually reached the rank of supreme ruler. Cold and gloomy, but has excellent manners. In truth, she is the "good half". To her, Space Shinkageryu is like a family and she works hard every day for the sake of achieving their dearest wish.[2]
Her attitude towards her master, Ritsuka Fujimaru is one of curiosity, interest, and fondness. She assumes all humans are weak, however, their ability to understand and learn about Servants piques her interest. While she does not respect her master, they are still very important to her. Despite the differences in their universes and her own self-deception, she cannot help but develop feelings for them.[2]
Relationships[]
- Yagyuu Munenori
- "Yagyu Tajima-no-kami Munenori...I see that he is a sword master with great stature in this universe too. That is a wonderful thing and he is quite distinguished. That is what a dark swordsman should be like."[1]
- A person that Astarte remembers even now and won't forget until the end. Her mentor of the heart, her beloved and respected─────[2]
- Mysterious Heroine X Alter
- "That Servant is from the Dark Rounds...! ...Calm yourself. Be calm, me. She must not know that I was the source of all the Saber Badges getting distributed. If she finds out, she'll definitely ask for sixty percent of the profits!"[1]
- Artoria Pendragon Alter (Santa)
- "A Servant wearing a pitch black outfit, wielding a dark demonic blade... A dispassionate personality that focuses only on accomplishing her missions... I can't believe it. As a Servant from the same universe, I can't believe I overlooked her... Santa Alter...I wonder which planet she's from?"[1]
- BB
- "It appears there's a Servant who underwent a transformation similar to me. She's someone who fell to the dark side, a high-ranking AI, and someone with a kouhai characteristic who may appear to be the enemy to humanity but is really an ally. Uh-huh... So, that's your type? Do you have a death wish or something?"[1]
Role[]
Fate/Grand Order[]
Saber Wars II[]
Ashtart appears in the Saber Wars II event.[4][5][6][7][8]
Abilities[]
Ashtart is an avatar of the goddess of war, fear, and desire. As the leader of the Space Shinkageryu, Ashtart not only claims that she is a better swordfighter than Warrior of Darkness MUNENORI, but that she is the greatest swordfighter in all the Servant Universe.[6] She was raised by MUNENORI with that objective in mind.[5] Her plan during the Saber Wars II was to sacrifice a Master, Ritsuka Fujimaru, to become the ultimate Saber. By becoming the ultimate Divine Spirit, Ashtart Origin, she would be able to accomplish what every Saber has dreamed of: Cutting the very universe itself.[6] When summoned by Chaldea, Ashtart is Ishtar Ashtart's first Ascension.[3]
Combat[]
Ashtart is adept at swordsmanship, to the point that she can expertly wield two swords. She send out energy slashes with her sword, but Ashtart can slash enemies with such blinding speed as if her swords were never removed from their sheaths. She can telekinetically move her swords to attack her enemies. She can also fire red energy blasts from her hands.[9] Ashtart has access to the God Shadow Stream, a Space Shinkageryu secret technique that belonged to the organization's founder. That great dual-wielding swordfighter proved themself the strongest of all Sabers with this technique. With this technique, Ashtart was able to destroy an entire room in Dark Maanna.[6] During the final fight with Ashtart Origin, she also used it when the goddess tried to send them to a place beyond the event horizon. With a single swing of her sword, Ashtart was able to blow away her rain of light beams.[8]
Ashtart was strong enough to overwhelm in a fight Space Ishtar, Calamity Jane, and Mysterious Heroine X on her own. Just one blow was seemingly enough to defeat both Jane and X. Although Space Ishtar was still standing up after that, she admits that she can't handle a candle to Ashtart. Because Ashtart's drive, skill, and training wildly surpass Ishtar's, she's not even deemed a decent fight by Ashtart's standards. It is only with the boost of a Command Spell that Space Ishtar is momentarily able to hold back Ashtart.[5] When Ishtar and Ashtart fight again in a one-on-one duel, Ishtar is able to react faster than she was the first time, although that's also the case for Ashtart. The two of them were pushing each other to greater heights. Despite them being seemingly even for the most part, Ashtart eventually loses.[7]

Other Capabilities[]
- Saber Badge: By working her Divine Spirit Servant powers to the bone, Ashtart developed an item named Saber Badge. This simple Spiritron Dress turns anyone who wears it into a Saber. This allowed her clan to take over the Servant Universe with the power of economics and branding alone.[6]
Development[]
Ashtart is illustrated by Shidzuki Morii in Fate/Grand Order.[2]
Ashtart is written by Kinoko Nasu in Fate/Grand Order.[2]
Comments from the Illustrator[]
Fate/Grand Order material X[]
"According to Space Ishtar's initial setting, there was only one character, and the trend was that said one character would transform through ascension. However, in the settings of the character that I received, there were 3 characters: a good, an evil, and a space-like one. Since they each had parents and their own personal histories, I ended up imagining the lives and lifestyles that each of them have built up so I did not want to omit any of them which I told Nasu-san as well. That there are 3 characters, aren't there. And that's how we ended up with around 3 characters. In terms of the direction for the design, for her first ascension, I expanded the image from her countenance when she was a mimic in "hollow". The second one is in the style of a free-spirited bounty-hunter cowgirl pairing up with her partner Jane, and the third was designed with a not-so MADE IN JIGOKU feel. Since the three are identical yet different characters, I paid attention to making them appear as their own existences even if they were to be lined up next to each other so it wouldn't feel like the character was simply changing her outfit. The ribbon is the same as the one worn in "EXTRA". I asked Hirai Yukio-san to design the Maanna spaceship that flies through the galaxy. I'm so grateful to him... At first, we were going to go with a gigantic spaceship like in Independence Day for the Goddess Temple, but god-knows-how, it ended up with the form of a giant goddess."[2]
Chaldea Breakroom[]
"There were a lot of unique aspects to [Space Ishtar] that were created for every Ascension level (though that was not the initial plan), and her designs were based on each of these. For her first Ascension form, I made it so that her coloring was primarily black to emphasize her darker aspect. For her second Ascension, I received very clear design directions from Nasu-san, so I designed her in a cowgirl outfit that would complement her partner, Calamity Jane. Her third Ascension retained her [darker] aspect, but I also wanted to incorporate some elements that seemed extraterrestrial, inorganic, or conceptual, with a sprinkling of mythological components, and topped it off with some spacey details. I have very fond memories of going through the entire design process, and I am very thankful to have had the opportunity to work on Space Ishtar's design." [10]
