The Barthomeloi (バルトメロイ, Barutomeroi?) family is a Magus lineage in England.
Characteristics[]
The Barthomeloi family is one of the Twelve Lords families and one of the Three Great Noble Families of the Clock Tower, one of its most notable Magus lineages.[1] They are also in charge of the Aristocratic Faction.
They are a family of rulers and Lords that can be called embodiment of perfectionism and aristocracy. Their lineage is mysterious and old even for the standards of the other Mage's Association's Magi, and it is uncertain when the name "Barthomeloi" was first written in the pages of history.[2] The family first arrived at the Clock Tower around the year 1000 AD.[3] They quickly became Lords with their powerful Blue Blood: Noble Magic Circuits (貴い魔術回路, Tōtoi Majutsu Kairo?) and attribute of Almighty.
They have reigned at the peak of the Association for centuries, and sought perfection in each generation of their Magi. The head of their family does not appear in public until he or she becomes perfected as a Magus according to their standards. They are raised only inside the Barthomeloi manor, as having them appear outside while inexperienced appears to be an embarrassment for them. Resulting from this, once the head first steps into the Association, they are immediately ready to act as a Department Head.
They find great pride in the "Barthomeloi" name, considering it to represent everything they are, while their own given names are simply attachments. All of the Barthomeloi's have an almost obsessive hatred toward the Dead Apostles, possibly due to their dignity as humans or pride as aristocrats, and they spend their time hunting them as if it were completely natural. This obsession may go so far as neglecting any other responsibilities to participate in any Vampire hunts available.
They can be considered aristocrats more intense than even the The Twenty-seven Dead Apostle Ancestors (Remake), who believe that even their fellow Lords ought to be submissive to even more venerable and excellent blood. The only Magus seen as the equal of the Barthomeloi Lord is Yumina, the practitioner of the First Magic. The current head, Barthomeloi Lorelei, has some degree of friendly relations with the Archibald family, but other information concerning her succession and her background are unknown.
After the death of Kayneth El-Melloi Archibald, Karmaglyph Meluastea Deluc took advantage of the confusion caused by the unexpected death of a fellow Lord to take control of the Department of Mineralogy over which Kayneth had previously presided.[4] He did this so that the downtrodden Meluasteas could secure more money, but the Neutral Faction stealing a chair from the Aristocratic Faction put him on Barthomeloi’s watchlist.[5]

Leader of the Magecraft Association's Aylesbury Investigation Committee....
Since she takes aristocratism to an extreme she will not cooperate with other magi, so she is a leader and also a isolated troublesome person. Because she had a unique education, she is not interested and has low tolerance to homely things.
The person herself says “A person’s special characteristic is worth more than her personality,” as her principle, so she possesses an interest in humans with powerful special abilities (talent).
Her personality is aristocratism through and through, however, she believes in only her precious kin, therefore other nobles and the like are inconsequential.
As far as Lorelei is concerned the ruling class and the working class is equal. It is worthy of noting it would seem this is not an individual ability that she was born with but one she was granted.
The appearance of an archetypical Ojou-sama character who has thrown away her humanity. Currently considering if she will be one of the main heroines or not.</poem>

Karmaglyph Melissa Deluc.
“Woah, woah, woah, I know that status-wise I’m the leader of the Neutral Faction, but I’m from the puny Eleventh Department. I cannot be compared to the previous El-Melloi.”
“Hey, El-Melloi II, don’t you think it’s unfair for you to monopolize all the fun of the adventure?”
Lord Meluastea.
Has two attributes: Earth and Ether. He is the Lord of Archeology, and now also the Dean of Mineralogy.
The simplest way to describe him is as a Mage Indiana Jones capable of utilizing the treasures he collected.
He uses Shoot the Moon, a mystic bow normally hidden in his suit. The mystic bow is capable of several different types of shots and can be used for excavation. Aside from its bow form, it can also morph into a hookshot wire or an emergency crane.
He’s actually an Alteration pro.
His touch can effortlessly alter metal into rubber, fire into ice, concrete into mud. In addition to this ability, he also carries concealed in his person a diverse array of treasures he collected as the leader of the Meluastea. The sheer adaptability of this ability combined with his Mystic Codes is enough to place him among the Clock Tower’s top five.
He normally keeps this a secret but his true ability is to overclock his treasures.
Its name is Phantasm Overload.
As someone who has no qualms about altering even his own magical energy with extreme delicacy, Karmaglyph can force a treasure to go beyond its capabilities. Naturally, the treasures burn to crisps more often than not, but until they do, they display power far superior to the Mysteries of the modern era—in some cases superior to their power in the Age of Gods. This couldn’t make for a more horrifying combination with how the Department of Archeology owns quite a few artifacts rivaling the Holy Ark. But obviously, as a lover of archeology, he rarely ever displays this ability.
During the events of The Adventures of Lord El-Melloi II, he’s in his late 30s.
While the Meluasteas were famous for being quite the softies despite being Lords, Karmaglyph’s actions are quite ambitious. Money was always necessary for archeology, but come the 20th century, money suddenly became exponentially more needed by everyone. It’s due to this that he managed to steal the position of Dean of Mineralogy, but this also invited major distress.
Stealing a chair from the Aristocratic Faction put him on Barthomeloi’s watchlist.
The Meluasteas were the leaders of the Neutral Faction, but the Eleventh Department was always among the weakest. Their leadership status was symbolic and held together by tradition. Karmaglyph knew that and this was why he was so invested in solidifying his position.
Also, since the Department of Lore keeps exoanthropic artifacts under custody, they keep each other under constant surveillance. Lore is suspicious that Archeology is withholding artifacts belonging to their category, while Archeology wholeheartedly believes Lore is a hoax to monopolize a set range of artifacts. But despite everything, fieldwork often requires each other’s cooperation.
His interest in El-Melloi II is part political and part because he thinks their situations are similar. Because both lack genuine interest in Lord status and have another goal outside their goal in magecraft.
PS: A large sum of his debt is owed to Melvin’s mama.
His name is portmanteau of karma and hieroglyph.
