Black Barrel (ブラックバレル, Burakku Bareru?) is one of the Seven Superweapons of Atlas, one of seven weapons developed and kept by Atlas of the Mage's Association.
Characteristics[]
The gun is a "Conceptual Weapon of natural life-span", capable of imposing the notion of limited life-span into the body of near-immortal creatures. Composed of True Ether, bullets fired from the gun will disintegrate all instances of Grain and Ether they come into contact with, ignoring any parameters of beings that intake either substance to deliver direct damage.[1]
The greater the quantity of Grain and Ether, the more damage will be inflicted upon the enemy, and it is impossible to even hold it unless the body is free of such substances.[2] This makes it extremely effective in the Land of Steel, as only a few remaining lifeforms lack Grain, such as unmodified humans. Due to the Aristoteles possessing extremely large quantities of Grain, it is extremely effective against them, giving it the nickname of "a gun that kills gods." The gun, which is normally a rifle-type with a curving buttstock, is extremely versatile in that it can be refitted with a number of different options to allow for use as a sniper rifle.[1]
There also exists a handgun replica named Barrel Replica, which was also found by Gun God during his excavation, used by Sion Eltnam Atlasia.

Wanting revenge for the death of his loved ones when the Western Continent was scorched, the man nicknamed Gun God dug out the Black Barrel from the sealed region of Atlasia, learning to shoot in order to avenge his family.[1][3] He used it on Type Venus when he participated in the battle to take her down, hitting Type Venus directly in the forehead and placing it into an eternal sleep.[4] The feat gave him his nickname.
Tsukihime[]
Ciel is able to obtain Black Barrel after returning to the Holy Church headquarters. Arcueid Brunestud implies her obtaining it has something to do with exchanging information with Enhance. While Ciel plans to use it to seal Arcueid, Shiki Tohno's interruption of the fight causes it to remain unused.[5]

Mash Kyrielight was given a replica of the Black Barrel by Sion Eltnam Sokaris during the Greek Lostbelt, which she integrated into Ortinax so to augment its Bunker Bolt mechanism, being capable of transforming her shield into a cannon, having been constructed using Poseidon's Divine Core and a piece of Artemis, allowing her to kill Gods in exchange for Ritsuka Fujimaru needing to use a Command Spell as its ammunition and sacrificing a part of their life energy to activate it.[6]
Mash uses Black Barrel on Aphrodite,[7] Demeter,[6] and Zeus[8] during Chaldea's attack on Olympus.
Avalon le Fae[]
After Mash loses her memory, Black Barrel comes into the hands of Boggart who uses it on Morgan's army.[9] Beryl Gut and Baobhan Sith torture Boggart and intend on taking Black Barrel, but it mysteriously disappears after they drop Boggart from the top of his castle.[9]
It is later revealed that Habetrot was the one who took it, having kept it safe for Mash in spite of the fact that Fairies are poisoned by exposure to advanced technology. Mash uses Black Barrel on Cernunnos after Artoria Avalon exposes its Divine Core with her Holy Swords.[10]
Tunguska Sanctuary[]
Habetrot's prolonged exposure to Black Barrel has made her its "guardian Fairy" of sorts (similar to Nanako and the Seventh Holy Scripture (Remake)), greatly enhancing its capabilities and granting it the ability to be used as a physical weapon as well as a Conceptual one. When being used as a weaker, physical weapon it does not require a Command Spell as fuel.

His real name has been erased. Generally known as Gun God or God Imitator. One of the few old-generation “humans” surviving in this wasteland.
Humans – strong as living creatures, yet weak as existences – were almost completely eliminated on doomsday. The survivors, being unable to adapt to the Grain permeating the atmosphere, were soon to follow.
During these last days, the surviving humans created the artificial paradise.
Although this artificial paradise was quickly destroyed by The Black Aristoteles, Godo was unlucky enough to receive environmental adaptation treatment, and thus his life was saved. He became the world’s last surviving human and continued to live.
But, even if he was a survivor, his future was short.
For Godo, his current life was akin to living on the moon. Without the help of machines and medicines, he would not even be able to breathe properly, and the food that he puts in his mouth is like poison.
Because his prospects were so bleak, or perhaps because he had already faced death many times, his worldview became very self-torturing but not quite pessimistic (“resignation” could be a good way to describe it), and he lived leisurely passing by the days.
In the past, wanting revenge, he excavated Black Barrel from the sealed region of Atlasia, and participated in the battle to prevent Type:Venus’ descent. Afterwards, in order to escape further conflicts, he concealed his whereabouts.
According to rumors, he participated in a certain city’s fight to repel Type:Saturn, and died there.
Although he is the weakest, he is a sniper able to withstand the poison of the strongest.
Explanation - Black Barrel
A black gun. It is a weapon that can destroy the Fifth Theoretical Element, and is constructed from the Fifth True Element.
It is called a conceptual weapon of natural life by the Six Sisters.
The bullets can ignore the abilities of anything that uses Grain and cause direct damage.
It is similar to a cancer cell directly invading a body.
One of the reasons that humans have degraded as is that they have no way to utilize the Grain in the air. As soon as they breathe it in, they die.
The moment that this new energy source, Grain, rejected them, humans became the weakest of all life forms, but Black Barrel could be called the one weapon that reverses that specific weak point.
It has many uses, and by changing its fittings it can be made to act as a sniper rifle.
It normally takes the form of a rifle with a curved stock.
At the time of its excavation, it seems that there was an original and also a replica. The gun that Godo always uses is the original.

本名。額飲、というのをいれる。院まいったいな時代の“人間”。
生物としてあったが生命としては弱かった人間は世界各軍によって大部分が死滅し、残った者たちも大気に満ちたジンに適応できず死に絶えていった。
そんな終末の中でも生き延びようとした人間たちによる人工楽園の出身。
人工楽園自体は黒いアリストテレスによってすみやかに消滅したが、環境適応処置を受けていたゴドーは不運にも生き延び、地上に残った最後の人間として生きていく事になる。
もっとも、生き残ったところで先は長くない。
ゴドーにとって今の生活は月に住んでいるようなもの。機械と菜の助けがなくては満足に呼吸もできず、口にする食料は毒でしかない。
まさにお先真っ暗ではあるが、幾度もの終末を乗り越えてしまった為か、自由的ではあるが悲観的にはならない、といった観(諦観とも言う)に至っているので日々のんびりと過ごしている。
かつては復讐心から取アトラシアよりブラックバレルを発掘し、タイプ・ヴィーナス降下阻止作戦に参加、以後は戦いを避けて行方を貶ました。
風の噂ではとある街で行われたタイプ・サターン迎撃戦に参加し、戦死したとされる。
最弱ではあるが、最強の毒に耐えうる狙撃手。

黒い銃身。第五架空要素を自壊させる、第五真説要素によって作られた兵器。
六人姉妹たちには天存の概念武装と呼ばれる。
この銃によって放たれた弾丸は、真エーテルによっ して活動するモノなら、いかなる能力値をも無視して を与える魔の一撃となる。
直接本体に打ち込まれる細胞のようなものか。
人間が霊長から転落した理由の一つに、大気に満ち たジンを扱えず、吸い込めば死に至るという事がある。
ジンという新しいエネルギーに拒絶された時点で人間はもっとも弱い生物になったが、ブラックバレルはその欠点を逆転させた兵器と言える。
汎用性が高く、各種オプションを換装する事で狙撃 銃としても使用可能。
基本は曲銃床を用いるライフル型。
発掘時にはオリジナルとレプリカの二丁があったらしい。ゴドーが愛用していたのはオリジナルの方。

A black rifle that the Gun God uses. Created by a mineral that counters all Gin, it's a weapon that is feared by life forms that carry any slight amount of Gin.
But because all living beings that exists in the world are affected by Gin, it is impossible for them use or even touch it.
The God killer gun. If the target creature is stronger... in other words, the more Gin it carries, the more powerful the bullet becomes.

銃神が所有する黒い銃。全てのジンに相克する鉱物で作られており、ジンを微量でも含む生命体にとっては天敵ともいえる兵器。
