Lindenleaf

The Bloodstained linden leaf (血に染まった菩提樹の葉?) is a relic from the life of Siegfried, used as a catalyst to summon him as a Servant.

History[]

After the defeat of the dragon Fafnir, Siegfried bathed in the blood of the dragon. The leaf happened to land on his back at the time, creating the critical weak point that would bring him "irrevocable death."[1]

The leaf was preserved after that point, eventually coming into the possession of a magi family that held onto it for many generations. It was one of the few catalyst artifacts that remained outside of the purview of the Mage's Association, possibly even the last of its kind as of the late 19th century.[2]

Role[]

Fate/Apocrypha[]

Within the world of Fate/Apocrypha, Gordes Musik Yggdmillennia obtains the leaf to be used as a catalyst to summon Siegfried in the Great Holy Grail War. It is said to likely have been obtained through his connections to the Einzbern family.[1]

Lord El-Melloi II's Case Files[]

Within the world of Fate/stay night, the leaf came into the possession of Byron Valualeta Iselma. Atrum Galliasta wanted it so he could summon Siegfried in the Fifth Fuyuki Holy Grail War, but Touko Aozaki burned it and used its ashes as a spell reagent.[3]

Fate/Grand Order[]

The story An Old Spider Spins Webs of Memory depicts the happenings of a late 19th century event in which the current head of the family in possession of the leaf, played by Sieg in the dream recreation, decides to auction off the leaf.[2]

Characteristics[]

Its veracity as the historical object can be determined simply from a magus viewing it in person. It is a catalyst that leaves little chance for summoning a hero other than Siegfried. Division of the leaf would greatly reduce its potency as a catalyst, so it must remain whole.[2]
