BradamanteWP (ブラダマンテ, Buradamante?), Class Name Lancer (ランサー, Ransā?), is a Lancer-class Servant summoned by Ritsuka Fujimaru in the Grand Orders of Fate/Grand Order.
Profile
Identity
Bradamante was one of the Twelve Paladins of Charlemagne. She is the cousin of Roland and Astolfo. After Astolfo fought through several battles with his lance Trap of Argalia, he entrusted it to Bradamante.[2] She is a purehearted shieldmaiden, and the Knight of the White Plume. A distant grandchild of Hector, the legendary hero of Troy. The knight Ruggiero, her lover, also numbers among Hector's descendants.
She was born a princess, of the union between the king's sister Aya and Duke Aymon of ClermontWP. Her brother was the knight RinaldoWP, also a member of the Twelve Paladins and the bearer of the magical sword Froberge. Like her brother, she was known far and wide as a masterful warrior. It is said that when the tide turned against the army of Charlemagne during a battle against King Agramante, she took the rearguard, and fought a magnificent duel with the enemy commander, King Rodomonte of Algiers.
After a great many adventures, Bradamante fell in love with Ruggiero, knight and commander of an enemy nation. She endured a great number of trials so that their romance might finally blossom. No matter if he was snatched away by an evil magician, or if he was ensnared by the enchantress Alcina, or if a Greek prince sought her hand in marriage – she confronted any adversity head-on, and not once did she give in.
Now that Bradamante has manifested as a Servant, it seems that to her Ruggiero embodies her identity as a Heroic Spirit who eternally chases a distant light. As long as she continues to exist as the 'story' of Bradamante, Ruggiero will continue to be the 'hope' that she searches for endlessly but is fated never to grasp. Essentially, the two can never attain the happy ending they found in life; the story of a neverending search fundamentally defines her nature as a Heroic Spirit.
“Well, of course I feel a little sad! Just a little! But I'm a Paladin before anything else, so I'll do my very best to help return the world to how it was!”
That's admirable, Bradamante. I address you now directly to your heart.
“M-milord Merlin!”
Appearance
Personality
As the image of an unyielding knight, she is formidable both physically and mentally. To the end of realizing her love, she will face down any challenge, from anywhere, as many times as it takes. She is a pure-hearted shieldmaiden, who holds fast to her belief in justice and always strives to do good even in the most dire of circumstances.
She has a distaste for magi, having suffered greatly at their hands in life. Merlin, however, is an exception; she is acquainted with the Grand Magician, having received his counsel through the sorceress Melissa during her adventures. To Bradamante, he is an object of veneration.

Abilities
Bradamante’s armaments are a shield, which is her Noble Phantasm, and a one-handed spear. She regards combat techniques that combine shield and spear as her forte. She is not the type of Lancer who would stake everything on her spear. It seems noteworthy that shield-and-spear users are sorted into the Lancer Class.[1]
Skills
Class Skills
- Magic Resistance (Rank A): Nullifies Magecraft spells that are Rank A or below.
Modern mages would not be able to wound Bradamante with their Magecraft.
Bradamante's original Rank in the Magic Resistance Skill is C, but it is being increased considerably to its current Rank due to the effect of one of her Noble Phantasms.[1]
Personal Skills
- Merit of Clermont (Rank B): One's pride and mentality as a person who was born in the House of Clermont becoming a Skill.
In order to catch up to her elder brother Rinaldo and his fierce swordsmanship techniques, Bradamante tried every single thing. Even if she was an ordinary person, even if what she was doing is liable to madness, and even if it was a gruesome battlefield, she will run past people from behind to move forward. Bradamante will not give up in any way, and she will catch hold of victory.[1] - Knight of the White Feather (Rank B+): A Skill that demonstrates the intrinsic robust health of one’s body and the ability to continue combat. It comprises the effects of the Battle Continuation Skill and some parts of the Robust Health Skill.
Even if she tumbled down to the depths of Merlin’s Cave, Bradamante would be okay.[1] - Cancellation of Magecraft (Rank A): Cancels magical effects on oneself or one of their allies. If it is a Magecraft that is Rank B or below, it is automatically cancelled, but in order to cancel Magecraft that is Rank A or above, a Luck Check becomes necessary.
It is a Skill originating from Bradamante’s Second Noble Phantasm.[1]
Noble Phantasm
Her Noble Phantasms are Bouclier de Atlante and Angelica Cathay. If summoned as a Rider, she would also gain the usage of Hippogriff.

Trap of Argalia. The second cheat Noble Phantasms of Rider of Black. It is a golden lance that originally belonged to Argalia, a knight of Cathay. With this magic lance that knocks down all those that it touches, Argalia was victorious against all the knights who challenged him in jousting matches, including Astolfo.
However, one knight didn’t surrender after being knocked off his horse and drew his sword. Reluctantly, Argalia fought him with his own sword without using his lance, but he couldn’t match the knight and ran away in the end. Argalia had trusted in the power of his magic lance too much, and so he had promised that the one who beat him would be presented his older sister Angelica (the beautiful woman who was the cause of Roland going mad later on).
Angelica also understood how bad the situation was once she learned of her younger brother’s defeat and so disappeared into hiding, and while the entire jousting contest was in total chaos, Astolfo, who had broken his own lance, noticed Argalia’s lance, remarking “Ah, so there was a lance lying around here”, and he sto… silently borrowed the lance.
Naturally, Astolfo won match after match in jousting contests afterwards.
The Noble Phantasm “Trap of Argalia” is a lance, but its actual power is very low. However, when an opponent is touched by the front tip of the lance, they will be forced into a state of falling down—in other words, their legs are forcibly changed into spiritual form. Of course, this is only temporary (after all, they are only forced into a state of “having fallen down”), and they can recover in a short period of time, but just as demonstrated in the third volume, it possesses extremely strong compelling force that can “even topple a giant”.
Incidentally, after Astolfo managed to survive through several battles with this lance, he entrusted this lance to the female knight Bradamante, the cousin of Roland. Naturally, Astolfo freely gave away such a precious lance because he didn’t know about its ability at all. As for how he kept winning in jousting matches, he apparently thought, “I ‘awakened’ the power unconsciously sealed inside me!” How awful.触れれば転倒!【宝具】
