Chaos Labyrinthos: Eternally Unchanging Labyrinth (万古不易の迷宮, Bankofueki no Meikyū?) is the Noble Phantasm of Asterios which emobodies the LabyrinthWP made by the famous artisan Daedalus, who was commissioned by King Minos to build a maze that one cannot escape from to imprison Asterios.[1][2] It is a greater magecraft almost equal to a Reality Marble and built in the underside of the world.[2]
Asterios only needs to remember the Labyrinth he used to live in to manifest it, with the difficulty of navigating it being befitting the popular conception of a labyrinth. Once manifested, it will not disappear until either Asterios is defeated or Asterios eliminates all his opponents. Even if it disappears, it is possible to manifest it again after some time. However, if it does not have a different layout from the anterior one, those trapped inside could easily escape as one cannot get lost in a solved labyrinth.[1][2]
Variations[]
Minotauros[]
In addition to the "regular" Chaos Labyrinthos, Minotauros of the Russian Lostbelt also possesses Chaos Labyrinthos: Eternally Unchanging Labyrinth - Evil (万古不易の迷宮・邪, Banko Fueki no Meikyū - Ja?), a variant that he deploys in Yaga Moscow against Chaldea when they attempt their rescue of Atalanta Alter and the Yaga Resistance. It is unclear what makes it different, although it remains manifested for a time even after Minotauros is defeated, allowing Avicebron to use the labyrinth in its entirety to form Golem Keter Malkuth.
When fighting inside his labyrinth, the Minotaur gets stronger, as it gives him a serious home-field advantage. However, he is ultimately defeated by Ritsuka Fujimaru's party, mainly thanks to Beowulf, who dealt the finishing blow.[3]
Daedalus[]
As the original creator of the labyrinth, Daedalus possesses his own version of this Noble Phantasm known as Aplόs Chaos Labyrinthos: Simple Eternally Unchanging Labyrinth (簡易にして万古不易の迷宮, Nan'i Ni Shite Banko Fueki no Meikyi?).
Unlike the original, which was designed as a maze, this simplified version was made with the intention of being a fortress designed to ward off intruders with deathtraps and Militant Machines.[4]
