The Department of Astromancy, Animusphere (天体科, Tentai-ka?) is the eighth (VIII) Department of the Clock Tower branch of the Mage's Association.
History[]
The Department's name, Animusphere, comes from the name of its founder. As of modern day, it is still under Animusphere jurisdiction, with Marisbury Animusphere acting as its Lord as of the early 2000s.[1]
Characteristics[]
While generalized under the name Astromancy, the Department includes divisions such as Astrology, Planetology, and Divination.[2]
Astromancy Magecraft is practiced within the Department, focusing on aspects such as predicting the future and observing the stars.[3]
Mythological lore is considered common knowledge among the Clock Tower, spread out through varying Departments, such as Individual Fundamentals, Spiritual Evocation, Astromancy, and Archaeology covering the mythologies of different countries.[4]
Within the world of Fate/Grand Order, the Department has control over Chaldea Security Organization. About 80% of Chaldea's staff comes from the Department of Astromancy.[4]
