Sir EctorWP (サー・エクター?) is a knight of Camelot, father of Kay, and adoptive father of Artoria Pendragon.
Profile[]
Background[]
Ector was entrusted the young Artoria, daughter of King Uther, by Merlin. When he took Artoria into his home he told Kay to treat her like a brother, not a sister. Ector raised her for 10 years, from age 5 to 15.[2] Though Ector did not believe in Merlin's prophecy about the chosen King of Britain, he did feel the same air from the girl as he did his king. He felt that he must raise her as a knight, and he wished for her to grow.[3]
Personality[]
According to Artoria, he is tough, stubborn, and strict. He never gained much honor from battle and never sought fame, which left no gossip to be spread about him. But he was still the ideal of Knighthood to Artoria.
Appearance[]
Ector's appearance is unknown, but since the British Lostbelt fairy counterparts of figures of Proper History are shown to look similar or identical, he probably looks like his Lostbelt self.
Role[]
Fate/stay night[]
In the Fate/stay night manga, Shirou asks about her being female and still a king, then Artoria Pendragon explains the situation that they were at the time: Uther Pendragon was unable to have a male heir and when she was born, he was dejected. Later she was given to Ector to be raised as a knight due to Merlin's prophecy that she would be the future king. After many years training under him, she was observing the current state of Britain, full of famine, wars and death. She asks Ector how long will this continue to happen. He says that the King will soon die due to a disease and it will be necessary to find a new king, one that is fearless to death and willing to serve the people, being the type of king that Britain need the most at the moment.[4]
Garden of Avalon[]
One morning, Artoria overslept and arrived late to her sword training with Ector. This same day there was a tournament being held, and Kay had gone to participate but accidentally left his weapon at their home. Ector told Artoria to go deliver it to him, and that would be all the work she had to do for the day.
While at the tournament Artoria discovered the sword of selection and drew it from its stone, setting into motion her destiny as King Arthur.
Fate/Prototype Fragments of Sky Silver[]
Ector is not mentioned by name, but Arthur thinks of how when he was a child, Ector would kneel to make eye level with him when he was a child. Arthur then applies the same action when talking to child Ayaka.
