EreshkigalWP Alter (エレシュキガル・オルタ, Ereshukigaru Oruta?), Class Name Lancer (ランサー, Ransā?), is a Lancer-class Pseudo-Servant Altered through the influence of Camazotz in the South American Lostbelt.
Profile[]
Identity[]
Ereshkigal Alter, giving herself the alternative name of Ninkigal (ニンキガル?), is the result of Camazotz being given Ritsuka Fujimaru's Command Spells through Tezcatlipoca, granting him some control over her despite her Servant contract with Ritsuka. He turns her into a Watcher of the Underworld of the Third Underworld. While Kingprotea and Beni-enma are Altered against their will, Ereshkigal accepts it of her own volition.

Ereshkigal helps fight ORT.[3]
Abilities[]
As a result of Camazotz's Command Spell order to "Be who you want", Ereshkigal became her ideal self, the perfect goddess Ninkigal. Although Ninkigal's Saint Graph pattern matches the one at Chaldea, it is stronger than before, due to her having become an Alter. Mash Kyrielight states that it is above A rank which indicates her being a Divine Spirit Servant.[1]
Ereshkigal was able to turn the Third Underworld into a huge field of flowers using her Magical Energy. This Mana was then stolen by Dumuzid, turning the entire sixth layer into a desert in the process. It isn't until the final battle with ORT that Dumuzid returns the energy to Ereshkigal.[3]
Combat[]
Ereshkigal claims that as a fellow netherworld queen, Nitocris should be able of exerting an Authority equal to her in an Underworld Border if she turned into an Alter.[1]
Ereshkigal was able to create a zero-gravity space.[1]
Boundary Gorge, Heaven's Thunder Palace[]
Ereshkigal Alter possesses a Civilization-Building Authority called Boundary Gorge, Heaven's Thunder Palace (廻楼疆峡・天鳴神殿?) with which she can mass produce Gugalanna.[1][2] While Ishtar rode the Divine Beast to trample down her enemies, Ereshkigal deems it inefficient. The only important parts are the legs which act as the pillars for the temple itself. She can deploy as many legs as she wants for the cost of a single Gugalanna. Furthermore, the temple creates sandstorms wherever it goes. Crushing the temple causes the storm to vanish.[1]
Tanking a single leg requires Mash Kyrielight to "do her best." While Nitocris claims that they are nothing compared to Ozymandias' sphinxes, their sheer numbers are so overwhelming that Da Vinci wonders if the Demon God Pillar legions in Chaldea's data were like this. Nitocris, Mash, Tepeu, Habetrot, and Da Vinci end up being captured, while Kukulkan, who was not willing to use her Noble Phantasm at the time, escaped with Ritsuka Fujimaru. When Kukulkan returns fully prepared, she uses Kinich Ahau Impact to annihilate Ereshkigal Alter's Heaven's Thunder Palace, which was comprised of 6 Divine Beasts at the time. After being defeated, Ereshkigal claims that she will not fall for Kukulkan's surprise attack a second time. They ended up fighting mid-air since she got lured there, but she is a goddess who fights firmly planted on the ground. She says that should they fight again, she will send off Kukulkan with a Noble Phantasm that surpasses Gugalanna and Meslamtaea.[1]
Ereshkigal Alter was also able to set an Anti-ORT barrier comprised of 1000 Gugalanna legs. Although Mash Kyrielight claims that they are packed so closely together that not even an ant could get through, Stellar-Class ORT was able to break through it with ease. After claiming she was caught by surprise, Ereshkigal gets serious, changing into the offensive. She places legs throughout the entire Underworld and increases the spatial density of Mictlan's sixth layer by expanding and compressing the territory, impedimenting ORT's advance. While she slows downs ORT with red lightning, she provides the Magical Energy necessary to sustain the Saint Graphs of the Servants manifested by Ritsuka Fujimaru, allowing him to summon them without limitations. Furthermore, she grants them the Blessing of the Underworld as well. Ereshkigal puts out so much Od that her own Saint Graph starts unraveling, starting from her fingertips. Dumuzid states that any further burden would be a violation of the International Divine Spirit Law, however, she continues to push herself as long as Fujimaru retains the will to fight. Ereshkigal fought so hard that she became the Third Underworld itself, eventually causing ORT's body to start crumbling down at the cost of her own Saint Graph vanishing. Dumuzid claims that the power Ereshkigal demonstrated there would have even fought off the Vanguard of a Civilization-Reaping Star. However, this time, it was just a bad matchup. ORT resumes its advance after revealing that its true body is the flying Galactica Supercell and not the spider-like limbs that were destroyed, and vaporises Ereshkigal Alter with its space storm.[3]
Development[]
Creation and Conception[]
Ereshkigal Alter was designed by Shidzuki Morii in Fate/Grand Order.[4]
Within the context of the gameplay of Fate/Grand Order, Ereshkigal Alter is a switchable costume for the regular playable Ereshkigal unit.
Her alternate name Ninkigal may be a pun. Ninkigal is one of the mythological Ereshkigal's names, and means "Lady of the Great Earth". However ninki is also the Japanese word for "popular", making Ninkigal also mean "popular galWP".
