EuropaWP (エウロペ, Europe?), Class Name Rider (ライダー, Raidā?), is a Rider-class Servant appearing in the Grand Orders of Fate/Grand Order. She later summoned by Ritsuka Fujimaru in the Grand Orders of Fate/Grand Order.
Profile[]
Identity[]
A princess of Greek myth, Europa is best known as one of the many consorts of Zeus, the king of the Olympian gods. She is the daughter of the Phoenician King Agenor and Queen Telephassa, though some say that she is instead the daughter of Agenor's son, Phoenix.
In her legend Zeus the king of the Olympian gods, infamous for his dalliances with Mortal Women, Goddesses and Nymphs, took notice of her immense beauty and thus then decided to add her to his many conquests. In order to have her for himself without his wife Hera noticing, Zeus transformed himself into the form of a pure white bull in order coax her into riding him. After successfully getting her to get on his back, Zeus immediately dashed away into the sea, carrying Europa with him. Eventually upon reaching a New land on the other side of the Ocean, Zeus revealed his true form and took Europa as one of his lovers. Their Union resulting in her giving him numerous sons, One of whome became the King of Crete, Minos, the stepfather of the Minotaur.
The general direction of the sea and the supposed land mass there that Zeus carried her off too, eventually became known as Europe by the Phoeniciaian people in honor for their abducted princess and in time this became the continent's official name.
It is said Medea has no direct connection to Europa, but Medea cannot ignore her because Europa employs the Strongest Guardian (最強の守護者, Saikyō no Shugosha?) as a familiar.
Appearance[]
Personality[]
Europa views Zeus' children and grandchildren as her own. She also views all children born in Europe as her descendants.[2] She enjoys giving hugs to everyone she considers a son, daughter, granddaughter, or grandson (which is to say everyone from Europe). She's especially doting on children and immediately rushes to give them all a big hug before running to get them candies and treats. She treats Asclepius with kindness and considers him one of her grandchildren despite them not being blood related, while being especially doting on Asterios, since he's something akin to a grandson to her through King Minos.
Europa reacts to most situations by either smiling gently, behaving with levity or drowsing off, even if a beast or a giant would appear before her or being kidnapped by a god. However, it is this that what made Hera not be sure if Europa even perceives reality normally, allowing her to avoid her wrath and get multiple gifts from Zeus. She's a bit air-headed, forgetting what class she's been summoned into and initially comes to the conclusion that she's a "Riden-class" Servant until Talos corrects her.

Role[]
Fate/Grand Order[]
Olympus: Interstellar Mountain City[]
Europa appears in Olympus.[5][6][7]
Abilities[]
Europa relies on Tauros and Talos since she has no combat capabilities herself, lamenting she can only be a human shield for Ritsuka. She possesses a lyre she plays to call down lightning and control Talos. Her main offensive power comes in controlling Talos, the guardian of Crete, who is effectively a giant metal automaton that crushes foes with the sheer weight of his arms or legs or firing giant laser beams. Talos can fire giant bullets from the tip of his fingers, though he only does it when he is fought on his own.
Skills[]
Class Skills[]
- Magic Resistance (C Rank): Nullifies Magecraft spells that were done with a chant of two verses or below. Cannot defend against large-scale Magecraft such as Great Magecrafts and Ritual Spells.[3]
- Riding (A+ Rank): One can freely handle all vehicles and beasts, including those with a Phantasmal Beast and Divine Beast ranking. Regarding the Dragon Kind however, they are not able to be mounted.[3]
- Divinity (C Rank): Europa is a consort of Zeus, the Supreme Being within Greek Mythology. In spite of being a human, Europa in particular received Zeus' affection and was bestowed with many Noble Phantasms by him, so it resulted in her having Divine Spirit aptitude.[3]
Personal Skills[]
- Princess of Purity (B Rank): A Skill that denotes the absoluteness of the mind and body. Besides mitigating effects that work on the mind, it also prevents one from gaining weight no matter how much they eat. It is primarily a composite Skill too that comprises the Beautiful Princess Skill, which brings and attracts to one the people in their surroundings.[3]
- Affection of the Chief God (A+ Rank): Europa was deeply loved by the highest being in Greek mythology: Zeus. As such, this skill provides numerous protections. It does risk invoking the wrath of Zeus's wife Hera, but Europa herself doesn't seem to mind, since in her eyes, Hera is a great goddess who should be revered and respected.[3]
- White Bull of the Chief God (C→C+ Rank (Upgrade)): The white bull that Europa encountered—which was Zeus taking the guise of the bull—was a Divine Beast that possessed strong Charm, and it is the bull that was later made into the constellation Taurus. It is said to captivate anyone who lays eyes on it. This skill derives from the bull Europa rode, rather than from the goddess herself.[3]
Noble Phantasms[]
Europa's Noble Phantasms are Sfyrí tou Tálos and Chionis Tauros.
Forms and Alternate Versions[]
Hera Fusion[]
During the events of the Olympiamachia in the Atlantic Lostbelt, Hera suffered a grave wound, and her original mechanical body was destroyed. Since Zeus was reluctant to lose his beloved queen forever, he fused her remnants with Europa, a Heroic Spirit from Proper Human History.[6]
Because Lostbelt Zeus wasn't as loving and caring as his Proper Human History counterpart, Europa wasn't able to accept his rule. Thus, she decided to aid Chaldea and the Godbreaker Alliance to stop him.[7] When summoned by Chaldea, Europa doesn't remember anything about these events.
Abilities[]
Miyamoto Musashi states that Europa's Magical Energy is intense, and that it easily surpasses even that of the Bronze Idol Talos. Having asimilated Hera, Europa is no longer a Human, but a demigod.[5]
Every dish Europa prepares brims with divine protection. Although Europa does not know cooking Spells, she is fused with Hera. While Hera is not quite as skilled a cook as Hestia, the goddess of the hearth, she was still the goddess of the home.[7]
Development[]
Creation and Conception[]
Europa was designed by redjuice in Fate/Grand Order. Her scenario writer is Hikaru Sakurai in Fate/Grand Order.[3]
Europa was first mentioned in Fate/Grand Order material I in Medea's profile. She was also mentioned in Fate/Grand Order in the description of the Divine Bulls of Iskandar's Gordius Wheel.
Comment from Illustrator[]
"It is everybody’s cute grandma. Although Europa is a very famous heroine whose name is also the origin of the word Europe, apart from the episode where… she was seduced by Zeus – who took the form of a bull and ran across Europe with Europa on his back – and was then later blessed with Zeus’ children on the island of Crete, there is not much information about her. About the order I received, it was for something futuristic to give people the impression that Europa is from the same world as Odysseus, but she turned out like this in the end because I ended up drawing a woman that was cute and fluffy instead. I was a little worried about the matter of ‘Will they allow me to expose her underwear to this extent?’, but when I looked at the other characters, I thought ‘The concept of exposure in FGO must not adhere to common sense, doesn’t it?…" (redjuice)[3]
