Faye (フェイ, Fei?) is a fairy associated with the land of the Marburry Workshop owned by the Codrington magus family Lord El-Melloi II Case Files.[1][2]
Profile[]
Background[]
Personality[]
Faye is compassionate and caring, as is the nature of her race. Though she is dutiful to upholding the natural balance, as evidenced when she mercilessly killed Sir Trevor for misusing the fairies' powers to murder people.
Faye is heavily implied to have fallen for Wills, Trevor's son, at first sight and began appearing to him once the Marburry Workshop had been completed to warn him of the danger which cost innocent people their lives. She was afraid of admitting to Wills that she killed his father to punish him for his misdeeds out of fear Wills would reject her.
Appearance[]
Faye has long orange hair, pointed ears, transparent wings, and sky blue eyes. She dresses in a flowing transparent green skirt adorned with and leaves while also wearing a ring of flowers upon her head. The back of her hair is tied up in an ornate braid.
Role[]
Lord El-Melloi II Case Files[]
Faye is first seen in the library of the Marburry Workshop, Wills Pelham Codrington revealing her to Lord El-Melloi II as well as the fact he claimed to see her when the workshop was completed during a raging storm. This reveals that Wills had Fairy Eyes, and that he saw Faye whenever someone was about to die at the workshop; that she was warning him of whenever it was about to happen. Her words seemed inaudiable for everyone with the possible exception of Wills.
Faye is later summoned in the basement temple of the Marburry Workshop by a ritual using Wills' Fairy Eyes in conjunction with Reines's Mystic Eyes as well as Gray's presence, which Faye expresses amazement at. With everyone present now being able to see and hear her, Faye listens to Lord El-Melloi II explain everything what he learned of the Marburry Workshop and is stunned to learn that Wills had Fairy Eyes and that was the reason only he could see her at first. After Lord El-Melloi II finishes his thesis on the truth of the workshop, Faye confirms it to be true and praises him for figuring it out. When those gathered question how Sir Trevor died, Faye reveals that she killed him personally which shocks Wills. She explains that Sir Trevor took advantage of her kind and disrupted the natural order and thus deserved punishment for his crimes. Lord El-Melloi II reasons that her mistake was thinking that killing Sir Trevor would stop the workshop, so she reached out for help to properly dismantle it. Confirming his words once more, Faye reveals she knew those people afterwards would die from the workshop but lacked the power to stop it. She finally admits to Wills that she did not want to upset him with the truth, that she cared too much about him to do that.
Before anything else can be said or happen, the Workshop begins to shake as the Leyline activates. The artificial fairies assault the mansion in droves. Faye observes the battle and expresses awe when Gray, Lord El-Melloi II's protege, unleashes King Arthur's legendary spear Rhongomyniad; questioning how it could exist in that era. While Gray succeeds in destroying all of the artificial fairies and ending the Wild Hunt, the gate still remains; much to the distress of Lord El-Melloi II and his allies. Wills then reveals he knows of a way to stop the spell, and willingly follows his beloved fairy through the gate; much to Lord El-Melloi II's horror who warns that he may never be able to come back despite Wills's assurances that he will be fine. As he approaches the gateway to the realm of fairies, Faye is there awaiting him with a smile and holds a hand out for him which he takes before guiding him over. After thanking Lord El-Melloi II for his friendship as well helping to unravel the mystery surrounding his family and bidding farewell, Wills and Faye disappear into the realm of fairies hand-in-hand; which causes the gate to close, the threat averted.
