Lord El-Melloi II Case Files[]
Fernando introduces himself to Lord El-Melloi II as Ernest's friend and fellow researcher, and a spiritual evocationist. He explains that he tried to use spiritual evocation to contact Ernest's spirit, even though he knew it wouldn't work due to the Bounded Field in the mansion. He brings up Alec Fargo's large debt to Ernest after the former accuses him of murdering Ernest for his research. Mary Lil Fargo reveals he, Alec, Claire, and herself were in the mansion on the day of the murder. The group then move to the central hall where the murder occurred.[1]
After Alec mocks El-Melloi's deduction as simplistic, Fernando reminds Alec that he wouldn't have contacted the main family to call El-Melloi II if the murder was simply related to the Seven Planets magecraft. He tells El-Melloi II that the body parts aren't arranged in a way that follows family tradition after the former observes the scene. He assumes it was modern magecraft, and confirms he sought to have El-Melloi investigate because of this. He is considered a potential suspect, with his motive being Ernest's research. He later spies on El-Melloi II and Gray as they leave the lounge room to do a full investigation.[1]
Fernando, along with everyone else, is later brought to the study where Claire found Alec's mutilated corpse. He compares the fact there is now a second murder to a third rate mystery. He is surprised when Gray says there are traces of the undead in the room, to which El-Melloi II explains the undead were summoned by the residue of Saturn mana emanating from Ernest's hair and bones in the room. Fernando is offended by the supposed accusation of him using necromancy to summon the undead. El-Melloi II replies he isn't accusing him, and explains his researching is being applied. The group then move back to the central hall so El-Melloi can explain everything there.[1]
At the central hall, Fernando refutes El-Melloi II's deduction that Ernest's remains were arranged for Seven Planets magecraft. He confirms the Fargo family follows the Geocentric ModelWP, and concurs with Mary that magecraft which follows Heliocentric ModelWP is too young and goes against their tradition. El-Melloi however reveals Ernest went goes against tradition in the pursuit of realizing his dream. He proceeds to unveil the container holding Ernest's soul, placed in the position of its corresponding planet of Earth. Ernest's ritual then activates, summoning his monstrous ghost. El-Melloi II explains Ernest's ritual failed since it was experimental and unstable. He continues Ernest's original intention was to use himself in the ritual to becomes one with the inner cosmos of the mansion (a microcosm of the world) to attain immortality so he can reach the Root himself to Fernando and Mary's utter shock. Fernando is shocked when Gray goes to fight Ernest alone. He is even more shocked when he realizes that her scythe is an anti-undead Mystic Code, along with witnessing her absorb the mana from the spirits into it. The group then witness her destroy Ernest's ghost.[1]
Fernando later appears as one of the passengers of Rail Zeppelin and seen having a discreet conversation with Hishiri Adashino after giving a silent greeting to El-Melloi. He also is present for when Adashino presents the severed head of Trisha Fellows and then witnesses the bidding of the Mystic Eyes where El-Melloi presents his thesis on the murderer's connection to similar deaths seven years prior which results in the reveal of Doctor Heartless as well as his Servant Faker. He then aids Adashino, Melvin Weins, Reines El-Melloi Archisorte, and Yvette L. Lehrman in assisting Olga Marie Animusphere with a spell made to protect the Rail Zeppelin.
