TYPE-MOON Wiki

This page lists all the characters appearing throughout the Lord El-Melloi II's Case Files novels and manga, and the grace note anime.

Main characters[]

Lord El-Melloi II
The main protagonist, his real name is Waver Velvet. One of the twelve Lords that reside at the Clock Tower, the headquarters for all mages. His skills at Magecraft are second tier, but he possesses an incredible breadth and depth of knowledge. One of the very few who participated in the Fourth Holy Grail War held in the Far East to actually survive the experience.
Gray
The narrator of this story. She is a 15-year-old girl and Lord El-Melloi II's apprentice. She always covers herself with an ash-colored cape, and hides her face beneath its hood. She carries around the Mystic Code called "Add" inside a birdcage.
Add
A Mystic Code that has been passed down for generations within Gray's family.
Reines El-Melloi Archisorte
Lord El-Melloi II's adoptive younger sister, and the next head of house El-Melloi that has brought the family together out of the hardships suffered in their downfall. She was the one who gave him the name "El-Melloi" and the seat of the Lord. At times, she seems to enjoy giving her new adopted brother completely unreasonable demands and seeing how he reacts to them. Occasionally serves as the second narrator of the story.
Flat Escardos
Lord El-Melloi II's student. A boy affiliated with the "El-Melloi Class" of the Modern Magecraft Theories department. He is a genius of Magecraft, but within the Clock Tower he has both the distinction of being a top-tier student and the infamy of being a problematic child. Carefree and affectionate, he is a boy none can hate. He showcases an amazing camaraderie with Svin from his class.
Svin Glascheit
Lord El-Melloi II's student. A brilliant student who shares the top two spots in the "El-Melloi Class" with Flat. At first glance, he is a jaded, calm student, but in reality he rivals Flat in problematic behavior as well. Flat calls him "Le Chien (The Dog)" as a term of endearment due to Svin's usage of Beast Magecraft, but Svin himself abhors that nickname.
