Van Gogh (ヴァン・ゴッホ, Van Gohho?), Class Name Foreigner (フォーリナー, Fōrinā?), is a Foreigner-class Servant summoned by Ritsuka Fujimaru in Fate/Grand Order.

Identity[]
While Van Gogh is the name displayed on the Saint Graph, her actual True Name is Clytie van Gogh (クリュティエ=ヴァン・ゴッホ, Kuryutie Van Gohho?) due to her status as a Composite Servant embodying nymph ClytieWP from Greek mythology and painter Vincent van GoghWP, created by the Evil God of the Flowers to fulfill its machinations.

Eighty percent of the Saint Graph of the Servant comprises Clytie, fifteen percent comprises a black boxWP derived from Imaginary Numbers, and the remaining five percent comprises the memory and talent of Vincent van Gogh.
Vincent van Gogh[]
Vincent van GoghWP (フィンセント・ファン・ゴッホWP, Finsento fan Gohho?) was a painter who was active in Europe in the nineteenth century. The work received high praise after death and has lovers all over the world. In historical fact, he is, of course, a man, as evidenced by his name, portraiture and a few photographs.
The historical Vincent van Gogh was born in 1853 to a Dutch minister's family. Although he hoped to become an evangelist after working as a painter and a bookstore clerk, he was frustrated and aspired to become a painter. After studying the Hague School, he was influenced by the Impressionists and acquired his own style of painting.
After moving to Arles, France, he worked on a number of masterpieces such as "SunflowersWP", but suffered from a worsening relationship with Gauguin who lived with him, causing an incident in which he cut off his ears. After that, he spent all his time drawing while having a mental illness attack, and killed himself in 1890 at the young age of 37. It is said that there is a mysterious part in the death.
Clytie[]
ClytieWP (クリュティエ, Kuryutie?) is a water nymph from Greek mythology, a pillar of "OceanidsWP", the daughter of Oceanus and Tethys. Although she was Apollo's lover, she became jealous because she was deprived of her love by Leucothea, the daughter of Orcamos, the King of Persia, and told Orcamos about the affair, prompting him to bury Leucothea alive in the sands. However, it was not possible to regain Apollo's love. Despondent, she kept looking up at the sun for nine days without food or water and finally turned into a turnsole. Modern interpretations incorrectly claim she became a sunflower due to a translation error.

Personality[]
Van Gogh's personality and body are mainly Clytie's. This is why her appearance mixes flowers and jellyfish as she undergoes Ascension, as well as why she dresses like she's in mourning in her second Ascension, which reflects the deep sadness and regret she constantly experiences. Her low self-esteem and flirtatious smile are likely due to her self-loathing after her own foolish actions cost her everything she loved. Perhaps she is so insistent that she is Van Gogh out of a desire to hide from the parts of her that are not Van Gogh.

In her first ascension, Van Gogh uses her giant sunflower paintbrush to create damaging strokes of paint, or manifest either a giant self-portrait or painting of sunflowers to damage the enemy. The sunflower end is able unleash a blast of light that manifests painting of sunflowers that damage the enemy. Its petals can also rotate at such speeds to act as a buzz saw. Van Gogh's paintbrush can change into an inkwell pen to fire paint bullets.[3]
In her second ascension, Van Gogh is able to manifest her paintings or spears of dark paint using only her hands. She does use a paintbrush though to create a portal for a jellyfish-like creature to descend up the enemy with its tentacles. It can also float independently and unleash a whirling multi-colored beam. The jellyfish-like creature accompanying her can blast dark paint from its tentacles. It's able to create a whirlwind of colors at the enemy's location. In her third ascension, Van Gogh inherits the creature's abilities.[3]

- Insanity (C Rank): Uncertainty and terror. Deviation from harmony and the laws of nature. An abnormal thought process that goes as far as to affect the Weltanschauung of surrounding psyches.[1]
- Item Construction (C- Rank): Thanks to her unique and exceptional artistic talent, she can quickly create works of art that affect the minds of viewers. However, the efficiency and quality of these works varies greatly by her state of mind.[1]
- Divinity (B+ Rank): Her divinity as a vanguard of the higher beings that dwell within the outer realms is rather low, but the water spirit whose form she is based on is a direct descendant of the sea god. As such, overall, she has inherited a high divinity. When an identity close to the water spirit is chosen, her divinity increases.[1]
- Curse of Sunflower (A Rank): A unique skill born from the story of the water spirit on whom she is based. She can never commit suicide, with "blooming" instead replacing suicide. Normally this is contained to the extent that some parts of her body are altered in shape, but in serious cases she may metamorphose into the very "Evil Flower God" of her own design.[1]

Van Gogh was designed by Kibadori Rue in Fate/Grand Order. Her scenario writer is amphibian in Fate/Grand Order.[1]

"So I was told to make a "slightly creepy but cute girl with a dependent, self-deprecating personality" and I was like, what, I love every part of that. So I put my will into it... or more like, all of my soul into it, and that's how I approached the design. It was a lot of fun. Even while keeping to the "sickly flower" concept, I made it so as you go progress from 1st to 2nd to 3rd ascensions it went from a flower you might be familiar with, to a more alien flower (or at least, I hope I did...). I also thought on how to really incorporate "complementary colors", something the painter van Gogh was known for, so the design proposal was about to be a huge chaotic mess. But! Takeuchi-sensei and the writer amphibian-sensei managed to get it all organized really well. I really can't thank them enough." (Kibadori Rue) [1]
