FGO Ruler(Lostbelt)

Qin Shi HuangWP (始皇帝WP, Shikōtei?, lit. "First Emperor"),[1] Class Name Ruler (ルーラー, Rūrā?), is a Ruler-class Servant summoned by Ritsuka Fujimaru in the Grand Orders of Fate/Grand Order.[3]

Profile[]

Identity[]

Ying Zheng (嬴政, Ei Sei?), also known as Qin Shi HuangWP (始皇帝WP, Shikōtei?),[1] and dubbed the "Son of Heaven". The First Emperor of the Qin dynastyWP, noted as the most celebrated figure in Chinese history.

The founder who, for the first time in China which boasts an eternal history, accomplished the unification of the country, and established himself as the emperor. He accomplished many great feats that would become the foundation for China's later prosperity such as centralizing power through a county and prefecture system, creating a consolidated currency and measuring unit, and the establishment of a transportation network; but at the same time, he was also known for his severe oppression of thoughts such as the burning of books and burying of scholars. In his later years, in a wish for gaining immortality, he searched for the mysteries of the realm of immortals and attempted to search throughout all of China, but he died without realizing his wish.

Unifying mainland China by 221 BC, he took the name of First Emperor.[1] He was the target of a failed assassination attempt by Jing Ke.[4]

This version is from the Chinese Lostbelt, having gained immortality in 210 B.C. and lived until modern day 2018 A.D. (2020 A.D. in the US version) in the Lostbelt.[3]

Lostbelt[]

His true body is the form of Qin Shi Huang from the Chinese Lostbelt. This is the final conclusion of the Zhenren who freely used the authority gained from a system of centralized authoritarian rule and poured all of his energy into domestic affairs and technological development, and on top of that, also pursued the path of immortals to improve the limits of his lifespan as a living being.[1]

In the Lostbelt, Ying Zheng has recovered the remains of an artificial human body made by the Xian, Taiyi ZhenrenWP from the historic ruins of the Yin dynastyWP and by analyzing it, he acquired the technology to mechanize the flesh.

Thus, the Qin Shi Huang who obtained his dearest wish, immortality, avoided an era of wars with his iron wall-like rule and thanks to this, even before the Western Renaissance, China has accomplished an Industrial Revolution. Due to the overwhelming gap in technology, he managed to conquer the whole world.[1]

In the Lostbelt, Qin Shi Huang was a transcendental existence who lived for 2200 years with a mechanical body and promptly achieved the feat of unifying the world.

He was a wise ruler who considered the matters of the populace carefully, but didn't view them as people.

In the first place, his definition of a human being was "someone who is responsible for themselves and the future of the world" and in the Qin Empire governed by Qin Shi Huang, the only existence who could be described as such was the emperor alone. The human race that entrusted all dominion to the administrator wasn't made up of "people similar to humans"; Qin Shi Huang cared for them as mere livestock and pets that the emperor was held accountable for.

They were a lonely and self-centered existence, but since they were a person who's overcome the frailty of human nature that serves as a source for selfishness and malice, their nature wasn't distorted by their circumstances. As a person with a wise and rational character, he was someone you could even exchange words with. ...However, not under the common understanding that both parties were humans.

Therefore, he was very shocked by "the world where every citizen can be human", namely, the possibility for democracy, described by the visitor who appeared from the compiled phenomenon.

Appearance[]

Personality[]

While they may be arrogant, they are a person who likes looking after others so they won't overlook the plight of others. At their core, they are someone with good intentions, but since what they consider good is to be "managed under the protection of the Qin dynasty", concerning the result, none could think of it as anything but an unwelcome favor.

In Proper Human History, Qin Shi Huang was a tyrant that despised Confucianism which extolls poetry, manners, and entertainment. After becoming immortal, and having lived for over twenty-two hundred years, Jing Ke notes that the Lostbelt emperor's dislike for Confucianism has gotten much worse. However, after Qin Shi Huang's defeat against Chaldea, the Lostbelt King no longer had a reason to hate the disciples of Confucius.

Brimming with a spirit of inquiry, they are interested in everything and would poke their head into things, but due to the inquisitiveness they possessed from the start based on the conclusion that "as expected, the Qin empire is number one", they are always assuming a condescending attitude. In the end, it is a spirit of inquiry from the standpoint of conducting a prior investigation for the sake of a future conquest.

According to the Kuroka's, they would need to demonstrate a proper degree of respect if they were to summon Qin Shi Huang.[5]

Qin pretends to have trouble pronouncing Koyanskaya's name, because he believes it would cause her discomfort if someone of his status showed her such respect. Names include, Kominski, Tayunskapon, Koyawhatever, and Yayanski.

Since they are a statesman worried about the "fate of the world of man" in every time axis, if the world were to be on the verge of a crisis, they'd proactively involve themselves in it. Although they have their doubts about the human civilization that is a compiled phenomenon where "the people confront fate without relying on a sole absolute being", they understand that such a thing has more promise than their rule that came to end due to the pruning phenomenon, and plan to calmly ascertain the conclusion. The Master who demonstrated their strength to fight on in the past to Qin Shi Huang could be considered their sole "rival as a human", and the Emperor is always observing them to measure their true worth. However, should the Master's resolve to fight against the Alien God and its minions waver he will not hesitate to create SIN once again.

Relationships[]

Wu Zetian
"Hm, so there are those who ruled China after our death. It appears she tried her best... Ah, but that wail, that pain...if only we were still alive... No, there's no point in thinking such things. O little girl, you were indeed a dragon who ruled over China..."[6]
Xiang Yu
"Ah, our retainer has also been engraved into the Throne of Heroes from the records of this history. Hm, very good. It appears that the sage woman did good work for you."[6]
"Well done. Well done indeed."[2]
Consort Yu
"Hahaha. We had a hunch that you would also be here. Yes. They say that the beauty of a sage woman truly shines when she is as herself, without putting on airs. It's not too late for you to try genuinely living your life, you understand?"[6]
"No, We don't know what to say. You should think a bit more about the branding of a female immortal. Have you taken the immortal brand's reputational risk into account?"[2]
Tamamo-no-Mae
"Qin Shi Huang is watching you. We praise you for starting your life anew, but not your credibility. Who is the one watching over Tamamo? That is Us!"[2]
Thomas Edison
"No way~, We seriously can't bear this. This guy is the epitome of Confucianism!"[2]

Role[]

Fate/Grand Order[]

SIN: Land of Unified Knowledge[]

Observing Chaldea, Shi Huang dismisses the threat they represent. But he does allow Hinako Akuta the chance to destroy them since she is the most concerned.[7] Shi Huang observes the battle between Hinako's Servant, Prince of Lanling, and Chaldea. Though Hinako retreats in the end, Shi Huang is amused enough to allow Hinako another chance. He even gives her ten of his automatons for her second try.[8]

After Hinako retreats again, Shi Huang decides to have Xiang Yu assist her. But since preparing Xiang Yu for deployment requires time, he tells Hinako to observe Chaldea and continue to ensure they don't threaten the empire. Koyanskaya realizes the emperor is testing Hinako by sending Xiang Yu. Shi Huang confirms he did so to observe Hinako's behavior when she believes she has the means to destroy Chaldea. He then admits underestimated Servants. He finds it horrifying that the Proper History’s perilousness allows such beings to exist, saying he wouldn’t permit them in his peaceful empire. Vitch comments she doubts the Counter Force would ever take root in the Lostbelt. Shi Huang then orders Li Shuwen to release the heroes at Mt. Li from cryosleep.[8]

When Li Shuwen arrives at Mt. Li, Shi Huang advises him to not release any warrior that could incite rebellion. If such a thing were to occur, he would not be able observe both the rebels and Chaldea at the same time. As such, he tells Li Shuwen to release a brave warrior of his own choosing, one is not only kind and modest, but will also defend the empire and its people loyally at all costs. The warrior needs to capable of defeating Servants, yet not so powerful that they themselves are unstoppable.[9] Li Shuwen returns with his choices of Qin Liangyu and Han Xin, both of which impress Shi Huang.[10]

Shi Huang orders Liangyu to find Hinako and Chaldea, and lend her aid to the losing side. However, he orders Xiang Yu to finish Chaldea off with Liangyu when she arrives with her battalion. He dismisses Hinako's suggestion they destroy Chaldea as soon as possible, noting how she retreated twice already. He orders her to continue observing Chaldea and ensure they do not flee until Liangyu arrives.[3]

At Vitch's confusion that Liangyu is helping Chaldea, Shi Huang explains the order he gave Liangyu. He is using this situation to determine which side truly benefits his empire, and which doesn’t. He tells Vitch to offer something more valuable than the Shadow Border if she and Hinako wish to negotiate after agreeing with Han Xin to seize the vehicle. Annoyed at being always called the wrong name, Vitch asks Shi Huang if he's doing it on purpose. Shi Huang confirms he is, and calls her Daji. Vitch tries to escape, but Li Shuwen knocks her out.[3]

Shi Huang speaks to Chaldea through the vibrations of Mash’s shield after firing a focus magnetic beam at it. He agrees to hand Vitch over if they agree to let him examine the Shadow Border, so the group reluctantly agrees. After examining the Shadow Border, Shi Duang explains the function of the Great Wall. However, it is meaningless with his empire limited now to China. Shi Huang wants to manufacture vehicles like the Shadow Border, not believing what he was told about Lostbelts or Pruned Phenomenons. He then points out Chaldea has been observing him this entire time, the Epang Palace.[3]

When Hinako and Lanling tries to kill Ritsuka and Mash, Shi Huang orders Xiang Yu to crush his own core. Hinako begs the emperor to spare him, and Shi Huang agrees.[11]

Liangyu later reports Chaldea has been teaching the villagers poetry. Considering Chaldea to be Confucians,[12] Shi Huang orders Xiang Yu to kill Ritsuka's party while Liangyu seizes the Border and its crew. He tells Ritsuka's party that knowledge only increases people's egos, which eventually leads to war. He shudders at the thought of his world suffering to the point the Counter Force would summon Heroic Spirits. When Hinako and Lanling arrive to fight alongside Xiang Yu, Shi Huang permits them to do so. Eventually he launches a payload from the Great Wall towards the location, and orders the three to retreat immediately.[13]

Shi Huang interrupts Vitch's one-sided conversation with the Priestess of the Alien God while she is imprisoned in Ankang, completely unaware of the Priestess' presence. He tells Vitch that he has passed judgement on Chaldea, and now it’s time to judge her. While he now sees Chaldea as an enemy, he will still punish Vitch for releasing monsters. But since he needs to focus on Chaldea, he has automatons torture her instead. Vitch pleads him to stop the torture, saying she’ll never return to the Lostbelt. But Shi Huang refuses, understanding Vitch would only torment other Lostbelts if allowed. He also wants to keep her as a research subject, having seen the incredible weight of her Spirit Origin. Ultimately, he decides to have Vitch tortured until a proper sealing ritual for her is devised.[14]

Hinako later tells Shi Huang that Ritsuka’s party will rescue the Border crew from Ankang rather than retake the Border itself, which is currently on its way to Xianyang. Though he doesn’t know how Ritsuka’s party managed to hide from his sight, Shi Huang received reports of figures matching the group’s description fighting near Ankag. As such, he permits Hianko to remain at Ankang, and even grants her usage of the guards if needed. However, he will not have Xiang Yu join her, instead Xiang Yu will be guarding Xianyang since Border is top priority.[15]

When Hinako (now revealed to be Yu Mei-ren) is overwhelming Ritsuka’s party, Shi Huang orders her to return to Xianyang. He advises her not to forget her true reason for coming to the Lostbelt. Yu Mei-ren decides to follow his advice and returns to Xianyang. Later Shi Huang tells her that his analysis of her is now complete. Now that he has learned the secrets of the Zhenren’s immortality, he gives Yu Mei-ren custody of Xiang Yu as per the terms of their agreement. He then asks her what she’ll do next. Yu Mei-ren answers she wants to live out days in peace in a remote part of the empire. Then, before releasing her from his service, Shi Huang asks her if his world is going to perish. Yu Mei-ren answers that she doesn’t know nor care what the outcome will be, and leaves.[16]

After finishing analysis of the Border, Shi Huang remodels the Qin’s tax collection vehicles after it. Called Dou Dou Yishan, these vehicles are designed explicitly for violence. Shi Huang has already put them in mass production, and once they’re ready, he’ll deploy them against Chaldea. He orders Liangyu to lead them. However, Liangyu later reports the Dou Dou Yishan were completely useless in battle. Shi Huang realizes he shouldn’t have rushed their production, and decides to remote pilot the next version himself. To further ensure their success, he will allocate 0.03 of his resources to their production. Later, as Chaldea gets closer and closer to Xianyang, Shi Huang permits Li Shuwen to send the imperial guard into battle.[17]

After Chaldea enters Xianyang and kills Liangyu, Shi Huang decides to enter the fray himself. He then releases Li Shuwen and Han Xin from his service. He tells Li Shuwen to keep an eye on Han Xin in his final moments after the general leaves. Li Shuwen leaves after being assured of the emperor's decision. Once his chamber is empty, Shi Huang demands Jing Ke to show herself.[18]

Shi Huang argues with her that his world is moral and good compared to the Proper History. He calls himself the ultimate human, but Jing Ke is disgusted he’d call himself that when he’s a machine now. Shi Huang argues he is human because he bears all the responsibility in the world. He declares his reign is now complete, but Jing Ke says that means its history has reached an impasse. She describes the new things she learned upon becoming a Servant. As a Heroic Spirit, she watches over the possibilities of Humanity’s future. She calls the reason for the Great Wall’s construction absurd, as the Proper History would use those same resources to develop to the very ends of the cosmos. Shi Huang dismisses her words when she pulls out something the Qin has yet to develop: touchscreen smartphone. Jing Ke reveals to Shi Huang’s shock that there are billions of this device and they’re treated as a personal item. She describes it as a tool that the people of the Proper History used to reach an optimal outcome of understanding and prosperity. She admits there is still strife amongst them, and the day that the people unite as one is still faraway. Despite their fear that day will never come, they will continue towards the future. Heroic Spirits are summoned in response to those who pray for a new future. Shi Huang declares the palace’s defenses have targeted Jing Ke when he experiences interference. Jing Ke reveals a virus was uploaded into his systems while he was scanning her device. As the virus goes into effect, Shi Huang remembers Jing Ke and shuts down. But to Jing Ke’s shock, he reappears in humanoid form and fatally wounds her. Shi Huang commends her and decides to remember her name this time, as she is the only one to make him fear for life twice. He calls the now vanished Jing Ke wrong for saying she is destined to always fail at the end. He says her Heroic Spirit’s true worth lies in dying with a smile, even as she fails to accomplish what she set out to do.[19]

When the Fusang Tree is revealed to be the Fantasy Tree Mayall, Shi Huang realizes he was being told the truth about his world being pruned. But instead of feeling dejected like Vitch expected, he is elated to know his world existed at all thanks to his greatness. He then declares he will prune away all other worlds. He calls Yu Mei-ren foolish for trying to hide the truth from him, deducing she didn't want Xiang Yu to be deployed in the war to make the Lostbelt the Proper History. Calling Yu Mei-ren foolish and selfish for choosing love, Shi Huang says he will not permit her to participate in the battle for humanity's future. He then declares himself to be Mayall's guardian, and moves and crashes the palace near the Tree.[20]

Emerging from the ruins, Shi Huang fights Ritsuka's party to determine whose world will continue. He is defeated and asks Ritsuka if all humans in their world are strong as they are. Ritsuka replies they aren't sure, but they know the Heroic Spirits would help whoever takes their place. Impresed by Ritsuka's convictions, Shi Huang decides to entrust the future to Chaldea. Xiang Yu rejects the emperor’s decision, though, and fights the group despite his wounds. In maddened grief from his death, Yu Mei-ren allows Mayall to absorb her. Mayall fully awakens once it finishes absorbing her. With Shi Huang’s aid, Ritsuka's party destroys Mayall and ejects Yu Mei-ren from it. Shi Huang tells her to consider aiding Chaldea in the future as a Heroic Spirit. He finally convinces her to do so after saying Xiang Yu will be summoned as well she brings her knowledge of him to the Throne before she disappears.[20]

After Chaldea leaves, Shi Huang decides to live amongst his people as a human until the Lostbelt is gone.[20]

Abilities[]

In life, Qin Shi Huang accomplished many great feats that would become the foundation for China's later prosperity. The most notable were centralizing power through a county and prefecture system, creating a consolidated currency and measuring unit, and the establishment of a transportation network.[2] The Qin empire was very much ahead of its time in many ways, however, it collapsed due to political instability after Shi Huang’s death. The subsequent rise and fall of many other dynasties produced a degree of instability that prevented China from making progress as a civilization. Da Vinci claims that if Qin had remained as the sole power in China, there is no doubt that it would have reached a point where it would have easily swallowed up neighboring countries which could, in turn, have sped up humanity’s overall progress considerably.[8]

Holy Vessel[]

Qin's Mechanical Form

Qin's Holy Vessel.

In the history of the Chinese Lostbelt, after finding Nezha’s remains in the Shand dynasty ruins, Qin Shi Huang worked out some sort of cybernetics breakthrough way back in the B.C. era.[1][11] It was in this alternate history that Qin Shi Huang became a transcendental existence,[2] by abandoning his earthly body that could only deteriorate and imbuing all his Authority within a holy undying machine in its stead.[1][3][14] In the twenty-two hundred years that passed since up to the present day, their Holy Vessel grew and expanded along with their nation.[3] There’s not a single support column holding it up, nor giant air bladders or the like. In the Chinese Lostbelt, humanity advanced scientifically to the point where they could control gravity.[7] Due to being well ahead of Proper Human History, at least technologically,[7] the Holy Vessel shall never touch the ground again.[3] Koyanskaya refers to Qin Shi Huang as an omnipotent being.[7][20] After seeing Chaldea defeat Prince of Lanling, Qin didn't feel threatened in any way, but rather amused. Wiping out Chaldea would require a single overwhelming strike, but in Qin's case, they could accomplish that by merely lifting a finger.[8] According to Qin, Consort Yu is the only one in their Lostbelt who is on par with their royal personage, due to being a Zhenren.[16]

Functionalities[]

By the 13th century, Qin Shi Huang had achieved dominion over the world. They started implementing gunpowder well before any other country,[11] reaching the Industrial Revolution well before any other country.[1] Thus, no nation was able to oppose them. The discovery of the Fusang Tree was a big help too, as it allowed them make huge leaps in their medical science. The Fusang Tree is the embodiment of the Xian's secrets, a treasure trove in hidden Mystic wisdom. Others know it as the “Tree of Life.” The emperor discovered it while searching the Xian world for the secrets of immortality. They had already achieved immortality through the Holy Vessel before discovering the Fusang Tree. Thus, the emperor chose to remain in metal form rather than ascend to the heavens because it was a better way to lead the nation. The emperor decided to use the Xian’s knowledge of medicine to improve people’s lives instead. With all manner of disease, hunger, and pestilence eradicated, and their soldiers’ strength enhanced through elixirs, no other country stood a chance against them. Xian art-based biochemistry.[11] Qin cultivated Xian arts over the centuries, which greatly differ from the magecraft used to summon Heroic Spirits.[8] They are able to produce a talisman that uses a spell capable of sealing away even gods. With it, they seal Koyanskaya's Spirit Origin preventing her from fighting back.[11][14]

Great Wall

The Great Wall.

The Great Wall was originally used to keep the Huns away, however, in the Chinese Lostbelt, it hasn’t been on the ground since the empire absorbed all other nations. Having the planet become his domain, the outside barbarians that might pose a threat would have to come from beyond the sky. In case such hostile visitors ever arrived, Qin Shi Huang decided to fortify their defenses ahead of time.[3] This is why the "Great Wall" was encircling the sky barely in low orbit two thousand kilometers above ground level.[7] The original Great Wall’s name meant “the ten thousand li long castle”, but this one is far longer. If measured in li, it would be one hundred thirty one thousand, four hundred twenty five li in length.[3] Da Vinci also estimates that they are more than 5 km wide.[7] Furthermore, Qin began its construction in the 18th century and completed it over the course of three hundred years. Goredolf Musik claims that this feat of architecture and beginning space development in the 18th century is as preposterous as Gandhi dropping an atomic bomb.[3] Thanks to the Great Wall, Qin is capable of observing everything within their Empire. They can also communicate with anyone by projecting magnetic beams so as to directly vibrate human skulls to create voice. Other metallic objects can also be used as a vibration medium. The majestic form of the Emperor's gargantuan frame that the dominion's masses have an audience with no regard for day or night, is surely an appropriate embodiment of observation and regulation.[1] Koyanskaya believes it is pointless to lie to an omniscient being.[20]

Great Wall Meteor

The Great Wall's payload falling as a meteor.

Although the Great Wall's primary use is to defend the planet from alien invaders, the Heavenly Emperor can also use it to unleash an indiscriminate attack capable of wiping out an entire area by releasing payload from the Great Wall and altering its trajectory. This fraction of the wall is dropped like a meteor that will crush on the ground in three minutes. Although the servants that were aiding Chaldea at the time would normally not have had any way to defend against or destroy something as utterly destructive as this strike, Spartacus was able to vaporize it thanks to Crying Warmonger, which changes to match what he’s up against. The more powerful the attack, the stronger Spartacus's counterattack will be. Boosted by a Command Spell ordering him to "Jump", Spartacus destroyed the meteor before it hit the ground while having his Spirit Origin completely annihilated in the process.[21] Dropping chunks off of the Great Wall isn't something that gets done often or in rapid succession since Qin Shi Huang doesn’t want to damage the land more than strictly necessary.[14]

According to Faldeus from Proper Human History, Qin Shi Huang excelled in devising tactics and stratagems.[22] This talent was absurdly enhanced after gaining the Holy Vessel, as in this form, even the processing power of a smartphone is still barely one millionth their own.[19] In fact, Qin's calculation ability equals that of a god, and it is thanks to it that they are the one who decides the life expectancy of their subjects.[1] Being quite adept at parallel processing, Qin is able to take care of multiple tasks at once.[14] They were also capable of figuring out with a glance that the Shadow Border was capable of traveling through Imaginary Number Space.[3] Despite the Shadow Border being an otherwordly device for them, Qin considered that the Holy Vessel’s full calculation capabilities should easily be able to handle a single vehicle, however, they were amazed for humans having been able to fit so much functionality into those dimensions.[12]

Qin was able to detect Jing Ke despite her hiding in her spirit form. By the point they had ended up discussing their world views about humanity, every one of Epang Palace’s defensive armaments had already trained on Jing Ke making it impossible for her to get one step out the door before she was simply disintegrated. However, Jing ke was able to trick the emperor into scanning a smartphone so that they’d end up downloading the virus in it. Out of the many people that tried to assassinate Qin Shi Huang throughout thousands of years, Jing Ke is the only one that ever made him fear for his life not once, but twice.[19] Qin would have died had he not rebooted himself and killed Jing Ke with their second body.[20]

In order to add so many functionalities to the Holy Vessel, Qin was forced to expand it to such absurd proportions.[14] Most of the wheat grown in their domain is used to produce ethanol for fuel rather than food.[11][14] All the astonishing technology in the Chinese Lostbelt runs on old fashioned combustion engines. Since there was no incentive whatsoever to develop technology for mass production and widespread use, miniaturization and optimization were severely neglected. From the standpoint of Proper Human History, it was preposterously inefficient, but since Qin Shi Huang was the only one consuming said fuel, they were still able to meet their energy needs regardless of that inefficiency. Even the environmental cost of harvesting such massive amounts of biofuel would have been unlikely to become a serious problem without anyone else making use of electricity.[14]

Artificial Xian body[]

Qin's Humanoid Form

Qin's artificial Xian body.

Due to Jing Ke's attempt to kill them, Qin Shi Huang was forced to activate a new body they had created and to reboot themselves. Qin grew this body by applying the eclosion ascension method they learned by analyzing the Fusang Tree to the physiological data they collected from Hinako Akuta. In this form, Qin is the most powerful guardian to ever exist. As the ultimate human form, Qin had overcome death, transcended yin and yang, and reached the truth of immortality. This is the only Zhenren in existence. Sherlock Holmes claims that Qin's Saint Graph is less strong than it is great and that in Proper Human History it would be ranked Grand. He then questions why Qin's class happens to be Ruler.[20]

Qin hadn’t planned on actually using it, but their conversation with Jing Ke changed their mind. Despite knowing that Chaldea would have had no chance in battle against their mechanical vessel, Qin went out of their way to fight as a human. After dropping the Holy Vessel where it wouldn't hurt anyone, Qin Shi Huang engaged Mordred, Red Hare, Chen Gong, Nezha, Mash and Holmes in a fist fight. It was in this final battle that Qin's knee ended up touching the ground before that of their opponents, accepting defeat in the process.[20]

In combat, he manipulates mercury into various shapes (blades, projectiles, spheres, spikes, etc.) to attack his foes. He can also unleash a phoenix-shaped blast of fire. In his 1st and 2nd ascensions, it is colored like a standard flame that he launches forward. In his 3rd ascension, it is a blue flame that he summons from below.[23]

Skills[]

Class Skills[]

  • Magic Resistance (B+ Rank): In general, they are capable of countering magecraft from before the common era, but since magic devised in the Panhuman History that came after that is unknown to the Lostbelt version of Qin Shi Huang, they could breach their defenses.[2]

Personal Skills[]

  • All Books Must Be Burned (A Rank): It is capable of applying strong pressure to the Magic Circuits of others. The conclusion of Qin Shi Huang as the administrator who continued to rule over the whole world for more than 2000 years. By turning the people into uneducated masses and nipping the sprouting of their self-awareness in the bud, they are made to serve as the cornerstone of peace and tranquility.[2]
  • All Scholars Must Be Buried (A Rank): It imposes a strong physical pressure on the opponents and prevents them from moving. Burying refers to the execution method of burying someone alive. It was the most efficient way of mass murder in the China before the common era. Even now, it manifests as a skill of Qin Shi Huang with the intention to dominate overwhelmingly and control relentlessly.[2]
  • Eternal Emperor (A Rank): The ability to regenerate oneself as a Zhenren from the realm of immortals. The good health of the immortal administrator is the matter of the highest priority for Qin Shi Huang. A means of healing oneself is indispensable.[2]

Noble Phantasm[]

Qin Shi Huang's Noble Phantasm is The Domination Beginning, the embodiment of the national prestige of the system of centralized authoritarian rule laid down by them.[1][2] Using their laws as a curse-like binding force, the Noble Phantasm coerces the world itself.[1] It weakens everyone on the field (without differentiating between friend or foe) and Qin Shi Huang alone gains an overwhelming boost in their abilities.[2] However, its scope is limited by the population of the territory he recognizes as his own so it does not fall strictly into the Anti-World category.[1]

Development[]

Creation and Conception[]

QinShiHuangOriginalDesign

Qin Shi Huang's concept art

Before receiving the exact order of how Qin would appear, the artist, Toh Azuma, thought up a design based on previous descriptions, but that was declined after receiving the actual order. She posted an illustration of that design on Twitter.[24] The design was later used to depict Qin's original form.[25]

Qin Shi Huang was designed by Toh Azuma in Fate/Grand Order. Their scenario writer is Gen Urobuchi in Fate/Grand Order.

Comment from Illustrator[]

"On a side note, when I first received the offer to draw Qin I had imagined he would be a man with an intelligent sharp eyed look as illustrated below based on his previous descriptions, however the design order was a "fully-naked androgynous fantastical beauty", so this was rejected within an hour." (Toh Azuma)[2]
