OdysseusWP (オデュッセウスWP, Odyusseusu?), Class Name Rider (ライダー, Raidā?) is a Rider-class Servant summoned by Ritsuka Fujimaru in the Grand Orders of Fate/Grand Order.
Profile[]
Identity[]
A hero that is found within Greek Mythology, being the main character of the Homeric epic "The OdysseyWP". In "The IlliadWP", he is shown taking part in the Trojan War.
During the Trojan War he performed great deeds as the most cunning and craftful member of the Achaeans. After the loss of Achilles in battle, Troy ended up falling to the Trojan Horse plan devised by Odysseus. Soon after the conquest of Troy had come to a conclusion, Odysseus set out on a journey to return to his beloved Penelope. However, on the way back he encountered many dangers…. The vicious one-eyed giant, Cyclopes. The curses of Poseidon. The witch Circe and the nymph Calypso’s temptations. The song of the Sirens. The strait of the monster, Scylla. The wrath of Helios. Nevertheless, in the end he overcame these difficulties and though having made many sacrifices, he made his way back to Penelope’s side.
“The weight and pain of taking just one step forward? ---- I am familiar with how much it can take.”
A hero of the Trojan War and a member of the greatest family of adventurers in Greek mythology. A man that truly surpassed numerous adversities and went on uncountable adventures. The fact that his name was the origin for “The Odyssey” is not to be underestimated.
Appearance[]
Hot, definitely hot.
A fundamentally good-looking man[4], Odysseus is shown to have orange eyes, gray hair with red streaks and black ends. He wears his Aigis armor, which in his first Ascension, has a navy blue armor pieces with orange accents, a black undersuit, a matching skirt, and a chest vent[4]. In his second Ascension, the armor develops to be thicker plated, develops triangular prism-shaped shoulder pads, is equipped with a purple transparent glass palm device, has a matching navy blue ankle-length cape, and loses the skirt. For his Third Ascension; his navy-blue armor is replaced with a shining silver, with sharp armor plating around his body as well as covering his chest vent and replacing his previous shoulder pads, the glass palms are now blue, with it's blue lighting extending to the underside of his fingers, he is now equipped with a matching chin guard that extends to his ears and wraps around to the back of his head (in his battle sprite), and his cape is now multicolored, with a matching silver on the topside and navy blue in the underside and six long silver ribbons with sharp black ends attached on the front shoulders. In his final ascension, his chest vent is shown yet again and he removes his cape, holding onto his Aegis helmet. In his "Aigis" alternate costume, he simply wears his Aigis helmet over his 2nd and 3rd Ascensions with the colors matching the armor: navy blue and gray, silver and black, respectively.
Personality[]
A man with an unyielding will. Though he may brag and boast of his adventures, Odysseus is a man who will prove his words. He says he’ll bring down Troy? He’ll bring it down. He says he’ll escape from the latches of a temptress? He’ll get away. He says he’ll defeat monsters and demons? He’ll defeat them. And finally, he says he’ll return back to Penelope’s side? You’re damn right he’ll eventually get back to her.
Odysseus is often the object of affection from enchanting women (which he has rejected), and the admiration of many men who were involved in the Trojan War. It is with this in mind that he has been admired as popular. While Odysseus believes there is nothing he cannot do when he has the advantage, and can therefore be susceptible to pride, he is oblivious to the notion he was a popular person due to the seriousness of his campaigns. In fact, he takes the loyalty of others around him in the past with a heavy heart because he feels responsibility for their deaths. His values can be described as such, per his words: "...knowledge and patience, reason and decision, and love and hope, are the key to victory."
In his dialogue with other servants, Odysseus engages with a good attitude towards Greeks, Trojans, and others, in spite of any past issues with them; however, he is hesitant to treat his Noble Phantasm as a form of entertainment with Europa.

Abilities[]
Jason states that Odysseus' Trojan War heroics may place him on the same level as Achilles and Hector. Furthermore, he claims that Odysseus has got a decent shot at second place among all Greek heroes.[5]
Combat[]
He can unleash a variety of beams from his hands, ranging from short-ranged beams to a burst of smaller beams. Small satelites can be called from the armor's back to unleash energy beams, or be used to charge a much larger beam that Odysseus fires from his hand. He can achieve temporary flight with the armor to violently charge into his enemies. He can also unleash explosives burst of energy with his physical attacks.[6]
Skills[]
Class Skills[]
- Magic Resistance (B Rank): Cancels Magecraft performed with a chant of below three verses. Even if targeted by greater magecraft or rituals, it is difficult for them to be affected. The rank is originally C, but it has been increased due to the effects of the Aigis.[4]
- Riding (B+ Rank): Can handle most vehicles and mounts. Unable to handle Phantasmal Species.[4]
- Protection of the Messenger God (B Rank): No information available.
Personal Skills[]
- Affection of the Gods (B+ Rank): A Skill as to indicate the favor of the Gods of Olympus. Renders assorted effects. Notably, the love bestowed by Goddess Athena is potent. On account of such, Odysseus is as a special exception permitted the use of the Noble Phantasm Aigis, which is as a defensive armament of the Gods. In Fate/Grand Order, this is generally not in use in the capacity of a Skill.[1][4]
- Single-Mindedness (Love) (A Rank): A most focused state of mind...the source of his unwavering will. His devotion to his loving wife Penelope will never sway. Calypso the nymph, the witch Circe of Aeaea, the ephemeral Queen Nausicaa...all these women fell for Odysseus. Even the blessings he received from Athena were likely an indication that she too had fallen for him. While Odysseus seemed to be a lady-killer, he himself was fully devoted to his love. It's just that during his long voyage back home to his Penelope, for some reason he kept encountering women. (At least that's how he sees it.)[4]
- Cunning General's Epiphany (B++ Rank): A skill representing the knowledge Odysseus displayed, not only during the Trojan War, but throughout all his adventures. Those acting with Odysseus on their side will surely be victorious.[4] Chiron regards him as the greatest strategist in all of history.[7]
- Aigis: Divine Body Bounded Field (A Rank): The crystallized armor of the gods, combining defense and offense in one. It is a skill-version of the Noble Phantasm of the same name.[4]
Noble Phantasms[]
His main Noble Phantasm, Troia Hippos. Odysseus summons forth the famed Trojan Horse donned in the divine armor of the Aigis. Upon the release of its true name, it transforms into its obliteration form, which looks similar to a giant, and unleashes a massive energy beam on Odysseus' enemies.[1] Chiron believes that Odysseus would have a clear advantage if he fought Avicebron's Golem Keter Malkuth because he is one of the greatest adventurers ever, whereas the latter was just a philosopher from the 11th Century. However, when the two actually fight, Odysseus loses due to Ritsuka Fujimaru providing support to Avicebron. Odysseus claims that if their Master happened to back him up instead his victory would have been guranteed.[7]
Odysseus' second Noble Phantasm is Aigis, a defensive armament created by the gods of Olympus. It is said to be armor or shield, and an extraordinary powerful Bounded Field, a conceptual defense mechanism of divine creation.[4] It is made out of Adamant.[8]
Odysseus' third Noble Phantasm is Penelope. It manifests as Odysseus shooting an "arrow of light" using neither string nor even a bow, in an act reminiscent of the gods of Olympus.[4]
Development[]
Creation and Conception[]
Odysseus was designed by redjuice in Fate/Grand Order.[1][4] His scenario writer is Hikaru Sakurai in Fate/Grand Order.[4]
Comments from the Illustrator[]
"He was a great hero who, during the span of 10 years, travelled more than an air distance of 300km (some theories say the total distance travelled was more than 3000km) to return to his hometown of IthacaWP. A tactician and a great man alike. He would fundamentally be a good-looking guy, but he had so many funny episodes, like when he washed up on the beach stark naked, when he was turned into an old man, and when he was tied to the mast of the ship. Because of this, I was worried about how how to really flesh out his design. About the "chest hole" which became a popular topic...I thought it would be necessary to have something like an exhaust vent for the pheromones produced by his unmatched chad energy, so I made that opening. I was also happy to see the implementation of a simple costume with the helmet being made playable. Oh, and I also designed the transforming robot horse. I would have never imagined it would be launched from a catapult, though..."[4]
