Gilgamesh (ギルガメッシュ, Girugamesshu?), Class Name Alter Ego (アルターエゴ, Arutā Ego?), is an Alter Ego-class Servant of Tiné Chelc in the True and Fake Holy Grail Wars of Fate/strange Fake. After Archer Gilgamesh's defeat, various factors come together to revive him into this new form named "Alter Ego".
Profile[]
Identity[]
- Main article: Gilgamesh#History
In Enkidu's simulations of possibilities, this version of Gilgamesh was the one outcome they predicted would never happen: a king who never met Enkidu and parted ways with the gods more decisively. Upon completing his solo journey, he completely removed the blood of the gods from his body, becoming "gold" single-mindedly devoted to perfecting humanity; a system to push humanity to the status of god.[1]
Appearance[]
Alter Ego Gilgamesh is shorter and his face looks more youthful than Archer Gilgamesh.[2] His appearance is described as that of a human, while by modern standards, his appearance is strikingly youthful, as a being in the interstice between childhood and adulthood, built symmetrically like a statue.[3] He looks too young to be like the heroes in the picture books, but too grown up to be a child in need of protection: his new form is comparable to an insect freshly hatched out of the chrysalis, taken from a moment he was equipped with all the experiences of larva and the pupa, but with still nothing added or subtracted to his completed body.[2]
One major aspect of the vibe he gives off is that, to outside observers, he looks exactly like how an adventure protagonist looks like, like he's the living definition of heroism. His immature appearance conceals a hope for further growth, his looks suggesting the gods were arguing that the image of perfection lie in incompleteness.[2]
In contrast to his looks, all traces of Divinity have been completely erased from him.[2]
Personality[]
Unlike his previous Archer form, this Gilgamesh is not arrogant and is respectful of others, even willing to bow his head to foes he holds in esteem.[2] His are filled with pure good will, no malice or sarcasm, and he is willing to help as much as he possibly can. But that also means that there is not one grain of emotion or mercy to dilute his pure will to help: if anyone doesn't comply to his wishes, he'd deem their existence unnecessary with this same angelic smile and delete them on the spot.[1]
Role[]
Fate/strange Fake[]
Abilities[]
His use of Gate of Babylon is exemplary as he throws every single one of his treasures, regardless of how valuable they are.[2]
