Grandpa Ryougi (両儀おじいちゃん?) is the former head of the Ryougi family in Kara no Kyoukai.

Grandpa Ryougi lost his sanity due to a conflict with his second personality, ending up confined to a tatami room on the Ryougi compound's premises for twenty years. When his granddaughter Shiki Ryougi was six years old, he called to her while on his death bed, returning to sanity briefly to give his parting words on his opinion of murder.

Shiki tries to live her life according to her grandfather's words, taking the lesson to heart while wrestling with her murderous impulses.
Abilities[]
Grandpa Ryougi possessed the "blessing" of the Ryougi family, but his two selves were at odds. Unable to control his other self, they switched constantly enough that others forgot which personality was truly in control. Over his lifetime, he hurt himself, at times severely, and cursed the people around him while denying himself.
