Haruri Borzak (ハルリ・ボルザーク, Haruri Boruzāku?) is the "True" Master of True Berserker in the True and False Holy Grail Wars of Fate/strange Fake.
Profile[]
Background[]
Haruri was born into the Magus Borzak clan, where her grandfather Odd Borzak was a noted Magus who eventually became a Dead Apostle while pursuing his research which then eventually lead him to destroy and kill scores of people and even an entire town to create an army of Ghouls, leading him to be hunted by both the Church and the Association for his destructive actions. This eventually lead him to surgically alter his face and change his name in order to hide his identity and constantly change locations to avoid detection. Eventually he was killed by two Freelancers while in a plane,[2] which then left his surviving family to be viciously attacked and ransacked for his research, leaving only Haruri, his granddaughter, as the only survivor.[3]
Left as the only survivor of the Borzak family, Haruri was taken in by a magus from the Clock Tower going by the name Yatagarasu, who possessed the physical body of a young girl, but had a mind far older. Despite teaching her Magecraft, her teacher did not take her in as her official apprentice and was simply her legal guardian, and therefore, when, a few months after the Fifth Fuyuki Holy Grail War, Haruri made known her intention to join the True and False Holy Grail Wars for the sake of her vendetta against the Mage's Association and the World of Magecraft, she could do nothing to stop her and only try to convince her not to get involved with Francesca Prelati due to not being able to forcibly compel her as she was not her apprentice.[3]
Haruri encountered Francesca Prelati while attempting a mystical approach to the United States in pursuit of her goal. She accepted Francesca's deal for a chance to destroy the magical world she hates.[4] Once recruited, Haruri waited in Faldeus Dioland's base before the war started. She never met any of the other Masters there, with the exception of Doris Lusendra.[5]
Appearance[]
Personality[]
Haruri has a powerful hatred for the magical world which took everything from her people and seeks to destroy it in revenge. She wishes to use the Grail to render all methods of concealment used by Magi ineffective, compromising their society's secrecy.[4][6]
Despite being revenge-driven, she is very reluctant about harming others and has to constantly remind herself of her goal to keep herself able to fight. She also never sacrifices animals for her witchcraft and hesitates to even say the word "kill".
The reason why she is tagging along with Filia is that she had saved her life, and that motivates Haruri to ignore some eccentric behavior.

Fate/strange Fake[]
Day 0[]
On the first day of Snowfield's Holy Grail War, Haruri summoned True Berserker under one of the city's thermal power stations. Before she could form a contract, True Berserker went on a rampage and severely injured her. As she was preparing to die, a possessed Fillia intervened, healing Haruri and making True Berserker enter into a contract with her.[6]
Day 2[]
Despite Haruri being the actual Master, she decides to follow Fillia, doing as she wants. Together, they attack the workshop of Bazdilot Cordelion, the Master of True Archer. While Fillia fights with True Archer, Bazdilot confronts Haruri and tries to shoot her. However, True Berserker manifests, now far larger than when initially summoned, blocking the bullets. Haruri, encouraged by Fillia, then orders Berserker to destroy the workshop and the area around it. Seeing Berserker rampaging through the area, Bazdilot questions what kind of a Servant Haruri summoned. Before the situation can escalate, however, True Caster appears, creating a giant hole in the ground with his Noble Phantasm, Grand Illusion. True Caster then manages to make a temporary truce between the parties, recreating the ground afterward. Haruri and Fillia then leave, along with Berserker.[7] Later that day, Fillia tells Haruri to get away from the hospital, as she will probably get dragged in and die.[3]
Day 3[]
After the battle on main street the night before, Haruri, True Berserker, and Fillia have situated themselves in a mansion that is publicly owned by the owner of the Crystal Hill City Hotel, located in the Snowerk district of Snowfield. There, Fillia finally discloses to Haruri her true identity, Ishtar, as well as her circumstances of being a "blessing" that will only manifest if Gilgamesh and Enkidu ever meet on this planet again.[3] Later, they head to the forested region of West Snowfield, where Haruri notices Ishtar reacting to the emergence of Thia Escardos, which she deflects when she asks her about it. The goddess instead reveals to her her plan to turn the land into a new Mount EbihWP, much to Haruri's shock.[8]
Day 4[]
As True Berserker spends the day building the new Ishtar temple, Haruri and Ishtar discuss the Servant's strange appearance. Haruri asks if the Mazda lampWP she brought as a catalyst for Berserker Thomas Edison could have been have been the influencing factor for her Servant looking like that, but Ishtar dismisses that, correcting that Berserker is a mass of what humans consider "calamities", and she looks the way she does because modern civilization itself has become a calamity.[9]
Day 5[]
With the Neo Ishtar Temple complete and Ishtar regaining her full divine power, Haruri is appointed its high priestess, simply because her name rhymes with Siduri's. Haruri tries to argue she's not the best person for the job, but Ishtar stops her, stating she only tolerates self-deprecation once. Next time it happens, she'll interpret it as Haruri questioning her judgement and punish her accordingly. Haruri has always been saying she owes Ishtar her life, but Ishtar doesn't give a damn about worthless tribute and the value of a tribute is determined by the person doing the offering. She reminds Haruri that she didn't come to Snowfield to give her life to Ishtar, she came for her own revenge, and destruction for the sake of recovering lost pride is something Ishtar is very approving of. Only once Haruri achieves her fulfilling vengeance and learns to love herself that her life will be worth being offered to her goddess. Haruri fears Ishtar will punish her, but Ishtar subsequently hugs Haruri, allowing her to break down crying in her arms, and the hug engulfing Haruri in her divine aura as Ishtar does her blessing.[10]
High Priestess Haruri ends up fighting intruders to the temple, Jester Karture and False Assassin, though it is closer to Haruri and Assassin both fighting Jester. As a result of Ishtar's blessing, the bees she uses as bullets gain lapis-lazuli armor. She learns Jester is a Dead Apostle by hearing him call her grandfather his brethren: knowing she's up against a Dead Apostle and a Servant, Haruri undoes the concealment magecraft on True Berserker and uses her first Command Spell to make her the eternal guardian of the forest and temple, unlocking her Guardian Colossus Skill.[10]
Abilities[]
Haruri is a practitioner of Witchcraft. She describes it as an art that always require sacrifice, although she has only ever offered her own flesh and blood as tribute.[4][6] Her primary forte in Witchcraft is actually the deflection of curses rather than casting them.[4]
She has some skills in healing magic, as she was able to heal herself and her magic circuits. While her combat capacity is low, she believes that with help from familiars, she should be able to drive away a couple of thugs.[4]
She can manipulate bees that are concealed in her clothing, and the bees are capable of making humans faint with their stings. She is also able to cover her body with bees in a defensive barrier.[7]
As with any legitimate master in a Holy Grail War, Haruri is granted a special clairvoyance that allows her to view the basic parameters and abilities of Servants. Her own version of these visions comes in the form of a honeycomb pattern.[11]
