HimikoWP (卑弥呼?), Class Name Ruler (ルーラー, Rūrā?), is a Ruler-class Servant summoned by Ritsuka Fujimaru in the Grand Orders of Fate/Grand Order.
Profile[]
Identity[]
The queen of the land of YamataikokuWP, said to have existed in ancient Japan. Legend tells that she was proficient at a magecraft called Kidou, and governed the masses in very mysterious ways.
The enigmatic queen appeared out of nowhere when the land of Wa was split in several small countries in long war with each other, and unified the nation using her oracle powers.
Legend tells that Himiko resided in the innermost chambers of a gigantic sanctuary, never showed herself to anyone, and her words were spread to the masses by her nameless younger brother.
She was a skilled diplomat, as evidenced by her sending messengers to the nation of Wei in mainland Asia, receiving a gold seal from the Wei crown acknowledging her as the Ruler of Wa Friendly to Wei, among others. But after Himiko’s death, Yamatai disappeared from the scenes of history, with the records left by her disciple Iyo being the last piece to be lost.
To this day, the nation of Yamatai remains full of mysteries, with even its geographical location being undetermined.
History[]
The constellations reflect the abyss, and the abyss is an opposite mirror presenting the image of the constellations again.
One night, she heard it.
Very far, and very close. Whispering, loudly.
Despairful, and cheerful. She was like a reflection, and her reflection was dense. She was eventually peeking beyond eternity, the eternal wisdom connecting her to us.
The primeval meta-human was born into the transient world as an opposite mirror, reflecting inhuman wisdom.
She discarded her ordinary human life and offered herself so the people could smile. She has no regrets over her life, and can even accept the darkness brought on by its end. Even if she eventually vanishes in the time beyond, she...
"So yeah, I don't really have any wish for the Grail... No! Just kidding! I have one! A wish. Dear Grail, as you might know, I followed my responsibilities as queen during my lifetime, meaning I did not have a fair chance to find a, how do I word this? A soulmate? Something to that effect. Yes, loves me loves me not is a form of divination I practiced, but I stink at predicting my own future. Stinking Himiko, call me Stimiko. Without further ado, I request a Dramatic & Exciting encounter with my soulmate! Please!"
...is indeed the one and only Himiko, arbiter of light and queen of Yamatai.
Himiko is a figure who is part of the unique history of the World of GUDAGUDA. Certain aspects of the world do not correspond to other Fate Worlds, such as Himiko and other associated figures.[2]
Appearance[]
Personality[]
On the surface, she looks like a carefree, energetic, and humorous lass, but the amazing power of Mystery dwelling inside her is true to her role as an arbiter of light. She use many different methods to subdue conflicts. Sometimes with her prophecies, sometimes by forc… sorry, I didn’t say anything. It’s impossible to tell from her conduct after she became queen, but she’s actually a kindhearted girl who takes delight in the Sun’s light, the earth’s crops, and the people’s smiles. A girl who values the idea of living together with nature. By the way, she’s abnormally unlucky with the weather, for whatever reason. It starts raining every time she tries to go out, so she would be a priceless asset as a priestess that prays for rain.
Relationships[]
- Iyo
- Her disciple. Her relationship with Iyo – the second Queen whom Himiko personally selected – is like a relationship between a senior and a junior at a company. During their lifetimes, Iyo is one of the few people who Himiko was able to be close to, to the point that she can reveal her true colours to her. Himiko nominates Iyo as her successor, but after her own death, Yamatai-koku happened to disappear from the stage of history unexpectedly.[1]
- Nameless Turtle
- Himiko’s younger brother whose name did not become known. He continued to support Himiko, who became the Queen of Yamatai-koku, openly and secretly.[1]
- Kukochihiko
- The King of Kuna-koku, a country that fought against Yamatai-koku. Kukochihiko has a deep predestined relationship with Himiko. That is because Yamatai-koku triumphed in its conflict with Kuna-koku due to Himiko’s powers.[1]
- Okita Souji Alter
- "Okita Alter...I mean, Majin-san. Your path up ahead...no, I don't think it's right for me to tell you here. My only wish is for you to stay the same way even after time passes..." [3]
- Sakamoto Ryouma
- "Whoa, that girl floating next to the man in white is so awesome. I never saw a giant snake that magnificent even in my time... Wait, a giant snake?"[3]
- Oda Nobunaga / Oda Nobunaga
- "I don't care if they're called Nobbu or whatever, but those guys were such a pain. If those things ran amok in swarms, that would definitely mean the end of the world. Huh? They do come out in swarms on the regular? Are you serious!?"[3]
- Haniwa Nobbu
- “What the hell is... THAT, really? Er, the Caribbean Sea? Well, um, are you saying something like... I failed to purify that thing?...”[1]
- Shinsengumi Servants
- "For that reason, there has been a close connection between the Shinsengumi and Yamatai-koku since super-ancient times, you understand?...“[1]
- Beni-enma
- “I’m greatly thankful to you because you took the trouble to prepare delicious meals for me. My favourite in particular is the clam miso soup.”[1]
- Red Hare
- "Um, Red Hare, was it? That horse...or person? I don't remember anything like that running around the nation of Wei during my time. I guess Wei was crazier than I remember."[3]
- Kiara Sessyoin
- "Wow. So you ate the flesh of a mermaid which enabled your body to heal any wound and never age? Oh I totally get it. Sometimes you just go with the flow and things happen! But, you're not really THAT kind of person, are you? Never mind other Heroic Spirits, but you can't fool my nose! Because you smell good!"[3]
- Sima Yi
- "“I sent envoys to the State of Wei and received various things such as mirrors and some other stuff. But you know, I heard that it completely fell afterwards; the State of Wei that Sima Yi-chan lived in.”"
Role[]
Fate/Grand Order[]
GUDAGUDA Yamatai-koku[]
Himiko is first introduced in the Yamatai-koku Singularity.[4][5][6][7][8][9]
GUDAGUDA Ryouma's Narrow Escape[]
GUDAGUDA Shin Yamatai-koku[]
Abilities[]
In life, Himiko possessed power beyond that of a Human.[8] For example, she destroyed KunakokuWP single-handedly before rescuing Iyo.[11][12] Due to this, Kukochihiko warned Sen-no-Rikyu to not let his guard down against her until she was truly dead.[12] However, her power was overly glorified. For example, the villagers in her era believed she could shatter mountains with her bare hands or breathe fire, however, Himiko denies being capable of performing those feats.[4]
Himiko claims that she has always had good Luck.[4] However, the Nameless Turtle explains that her luck is terrible when it comes to important events getting interrupted by rain. Especially when those plans were meant to be fun.[6] Himiko's positive opinion regarding her luck with rain comes from its agricultural applications. For example, Himiko can help out villages in need of water to grow rice crops.[6][11]
Combat[]
Himiko boasts brute strength that could easily crush the ribcage of a Human if she wasn't careful. Although she claims she could knock regular soldiers all the way to the moon with just one punch, Mash Kyrielight, Oda Nobukatsu, and her are unable to overpower Serizawa Kamo's Dark Shinsengumi Troops.[4] She's capable of knocking out Saitou Hajime and Okada Izou simultaneously, thus preventing them from fighting one another. However, before Izou collapses, he claims that he has never seen such brute strength and that she might be even stronger than Oryou.[5]
Himiko's signature move is Himiko Punch (卑弥呼パンチ?), a closed fist punch that was forged by her bone-breaking divinations.[1][4] Even while holding back, this attack releases more Magical Energy than an ordinary Servant, making Mash Kyrielight wonder if it might be a Noble Phantasm. Furthermore, despite not using her full strength, it defeated Haniwa Okita with a single blow, freeing Okita Souji in the process.[4] While a single blow is powerful enough to destroy an Ominous God,[7] Hijikata Toshizou can endure it without taking any visible damage.[9]
Skills[]
Class Skills[]
- Magic Resistance (A Rank): Skill that cancels out all Magecraft Spells that are at the Ranks of A and below. In fact, modern Mages would not be able to wound Himiko with their Magecraft.[1]
- Territory Creation (A Rank): As a Mage, one can create an advantageous position for themselves. It is possible for Himiko to mold a “Temple”, which is superior to a “Workshop”. After Himiko became Queen, her figure was rarely seen in public, but it seems that she had occasionally slipped out from her temple in secret.[1]
Personal Skills[]
- Charisma of the Shrine Maiden (B Rank): A natural talent to command troops. It increases the power of her own army in team battles. Charisma is a rare talent, and B Rank is considered enough to be king of a country. Himiko’s charisma comes from ruling the people through prophecies.[1]
- Kidou (A Rank): Primitive Magecraft. Also considered the prototype to Shintoism. Unlike the magecraft foundations with established systems, this one is full of question marks on the specifics of how it works.[1] It has the power to exorcise evil entities like the Haniwa Nobbu. When she defeats a Haniwa, it cuts off the flow of the Dark Blight as well, clearing up the river nearby and returning the villagers to their full strength.[4] However, during the Yamatai-koku Singularity, the Dark Blight leaking out of her old shrine was so powerful that she couldn't dispel it. Ruler Himiko claims that she might have been capable of doing it if she was in her prime, but not as her current self.[6]
- Oracle of Light (A Rank): The Skill to receive prophecies that guide everyone into a brighter future. It may look like she’s just dozing off, but I assure you that’s not the case.[1] In other words, Himiko can receive divine prophecies when she falls asleep.[6]
- Natural Body (A Rank): A super naturally healthy body that’s never seen disease before. A perfect living image of health filled with the overflowing life force of the primitive Humans. By the way, she will still lose muscle mass from lack of exercise and gain weight from eating too much. Her body is natural in that sense too.[1]
Noble Phantasm[]
Himiko's Noble Phantasm is Eternal Mirror that Models the Celestial Bodies.[1]
Himiko's mirrors allow her to see other people, the position of the stars, and the far-distant future. Furthermore, she can use them to connect what she sees and bring them together. Before she died in the Yamatai-koku Singularity, she foresaw that her nation would be in peril one day.[8] For this reason, she linked her mirrors to Ritsuka Fujimaru's World and brought him to Yamatai-koku.[4][8]
Forms and Alternate Versions[]
Super Himiko[]
Super Himiko (スーパー卑弥呼?) is the fusion between Ruler Himiko and her alive self. Ritsuka Fujimaru regards it as Himiko's true form. When summoned by Chaldea, this form becomes Himiko's final Ascension.
During the Yamatai-koku Singularity, Himiko was Cursed by Kukochihiko, causing her to lose her strength and get swallowed by the Dark Blight. However, before she was trapped, she summoned her Heroic Spirit self from the Throne of Heroes as a Ruler-class Servant to aid Ritsuka Fujimaru. During the climax of the event, the original Himiko fused with her servant counterpart to lend her her remaining power.[8]
Abilities[]
Super Himiko radiates incredible amounts of Magical Energy in the form of light. This allowed her to restore the light inside the Cave of Eternal Darkness, allowing Ritsuka Fujimaru and his Servant allies to fight back against Kukochihiko.[8]
During the Showa Restoration Singularity, Himiko helped Izumo-no-Okuni seal Arahabaki away with the Great Bounded Field Sealing Circle. Himiko used her powers to redirect the Magical Energy gathered by the Kishin Project's six Magical Reactors straight into Izumo's Spell.[10]
- Noble Phantasm
Super Himiko's Noble Phantasm is Eternal Mirror that Models the Celestial Bodies. She used it to deal the finishing blow on Kukochihiko.[8] She used it again during the Shin Yamatai-koku Singularity to deal a critical blow to the Ancestral Beast.[13]
Development[]
Creation and Conception[]
Himiko was designed by Keikenchi in GUDAGUDA ACE.
Himiko was illustrated by toi8 in Fate/Grand Order. Her scenario writer is Keikenchi in Fate/Grand Order.
Comment from Illustrator[]
"When I first had the offer to draw Ms. Himiko, the expectation for me was to examine her from the viewpoint of history as far as I can go, but… although it was obvious to see, the fact is, there were hardly any descriptions concerning her personally, aren’t there? I do not even see anything about her outfits except that it is something airy… Despite being a figure who has more than enough name recognition, she was a difficult character whose design has no starting point to work with."
