ImmortalityWP (不死, Fushi?) is the status of possessing eternal life. Depending on the individual, it can either be perpetual youth, the inability to be permanently killed, or complete invincibility.
Characteristics[]
In the case of humans, it is said complete deathlessness does not exist.[1] While conditions of invulnerability can exist among the many legends of human heroes, even human-based Heroic Spirits are unable to go beyond the bounds of being a human being and attain truly immortal bodies, such existences being outside of common sense not normally able to manifest as Servants.[1] Even with heroes said to have immortal bodies, it is assumed there is always a stipulation of "However, there is one exception" in all immortality legends.[2]
The Third Magic is a Magic that realizes true immortality by making the soul into a high-dimensional planar being capable of interacting with the material world as a mental body without having to return to Akasha.[3]
According to Mario Gallo Bestino, most of the Dead Apostle Ancestors' Principles originate from something that the individual vampires studied when they were human, and after they became vampiress, such Principles become their "purpose for living" and path to obtaining true immortality.[4]
Entities without a Concept of Death are also immortal.
- See also Concept of Death.
Immortal Killers[]
- Harpe has the trait of Refraction of Longevity (屈折延命, Kussetsu Enmei?), which is a divine ability that nullifies the "undying attribute" of immortals and inflicts wounds that cannot be restored by any methods other than healing in accordance to the natural laws.[5][6][7][8][9][10][11]
- Black Barrel is a "Conceptual Weapon of natural life-span", capable of imposing the notion of limited life-span into the body of near-immortal creatures.[12]
- Seventh Holy Scripture (Remake) is no doubt, a surefire "Immortal Killer".[13]
Examples of immortality[]
- Achilles — His gift of immortality from having been blessed and exalted by the Olympian Gods, granted to his entire body, excluding his heel, protecting him from all ill will and killing intent.[14][1][2] It takes the form of the Noble Phantasm Andreias Amarantos.
- Ahasuerus — Complete immortality, having lived since the time of Christ. Even if he were to be cut up into pieces or shot full of bullets, he still wouldn't be able to die.[15]
- Amakusa Shirou Tokisada — Received eternal youth after being incarnated thanks to his Noble Phantasm Left Hand - Xanadu Matrix.[16]
- Artoria Pendragon - The Holy Swords Caliburn and Excalibur stopped Artoria's body from aging.[17][18][19] Even after having lost Avalon, Excalibur still continued to grant Artoria special regenerative properties. Had Artoria not embraced her fate and given away Excalibur to Bedivere after having been fatally wounded by Mordred, she could have continued living for thousands of years.[20]
- Alice Kuonji — Complete immortality and eternal youth, as while Aoko Aozaki ages over time, Alice cannot. Alice cannot be killed except under very specific conditions. If someone attacks her with animosity, fear, nature, or even random chance, she will resurrect no matter how badly she is injured. However if she is attacked with an act motivated by love, this resurrection will not activate.[21]
- Aoko Aozaki — Eternal youth, as Aoko stopped aging after 20.
- April – Complete immortality, as a Witch, she cannot die.
- Ashiya Douman — Engraves his Saint Graph in countless Shikigami bodies, rendering him able to control them remotely and scatter them at will, gaining a form of immortality through his ritual Life Continuation.[22]
- Brishisan — Has existed for nearly 3000 years without issue, implying he is something other than human,[23] referred to by Touko Aozaki as a "Vampire knockoff" despite not being a Dead Apostle.[24]
- Calamity Jane and Sigurd the Dragon-slayer Sword - After defeating Ashtart Origin, they were "rewarded" with eternal life until she awakened again.[25]
- Caenis — Thanks to her Poseidon Blessing Noble Phantasm, Caenis is invulnerable as long as she is in the Ocean.
- Camazotz (Lostbelt) — Camazotz's Imperishability Authority makes him completely unkillable. It can only be nullified if Camazotz is forced to remember his past.
- Chiron — Complete immortality, rendering him unable to die despite being in constant pain from Hydra poison. The immortality itself is able to be removed by the Gods and granted to another.[26]
- Ciel (Remake) - Complete immortality so long as Michael Roa Valdamjong (Remake) is alive, due to the World recognizing them as the same individual.[27][28][29]
- Darius Ainsworth — Complete immortality, having created his own style of Flash Air in order to record and store dozens of years of his life, the concept of "Darius", within Pandora's Box, as it contains a place that is not bound by the same rules of the World and so the record of his soul won't suffer decay inside it. This has the side-effect of making Darius unable to die unless the Pithos is opened, making him immortal.[30]
- Dead Apostles — Eternal youth[31] and the Curse of Restoration that allows them to regenerate from injuries,[32] but require the blood of humans to supplement and upkeep their unlife.[33]
- Demeter (Lostbelt) — Demeter possesses Authority over the harvest, in other words, production and regeneration. Theoretically, she can regenerate from any amount of damage, making it impossible to completely destroy her. This immortality can be passed down to others with her Klironomia. Poseidon's own Authority can suppress its effects, due to Poseidon also wielding Authority over the land.
- Erika Ainsworth — Complete immortality until she opens Pandora's Box as her "death" is contained in the box.[34]
- Fairies — Essentially immortal and do not have the same lifespan as humans or animals.
- Francesca Prelati — Resurrects in a new body after death, which can be either male like her original body, or female.[35] Her exact methods are unknown, but she has persisted without apparent side effects for hundreds of years, and possesses "secret organs" within her chest that she displays to Orlando Reeve.[36]
- Goddess Rhongomyniad[20]
- Goetia — As long as the Temple remains in Goetia's possession, the 72 Pillars will continuously revive, thus he is immortal; relinquishing possession of it causes the Pillars to be undone and makes Goetia vulnerable.[37]
- Heracles — His Noble Phantasm God Hand, a blessing of the Gods representing immortality, as well as being a curse, that was granted to him for completing his Twelve LaborsWP in life.[38]
- Kischur Zelretch Schweinorg — In Tsukihime Worlds, he is a Dead Apostle and one of The Twenty-seven Dead Apostle Ancestors (Remake). In Fate Worlds, he managed to achieve immortality without being a Dead Apostle.[39]
- Kundry — She is described as being cursed with immortality, but in a way that she would wander from world to world by reincarnating while keeping her memories until she would find her one true love. Because of this unique sort of immortality, Kundry as a Servant can remember individual summonings unlike how most Servants forget each time they are summoned.[15]
- Justeaze Lizrich von Einzbern — Eternal youth, however her body was so frail it would take little to kill her.[40]
- Lugh Beowulf — A naturally immortal Elemental who exists as a materialized soul similar to the products of the Third Magic.
- Merlin (Prototype) — Complete immortality, having transcended death due to being trapped within Avalon.
- Michael Roa Valdamjong (Remake) - In addition to being a Dead Apostle, he is able to completely persist beyond death so long as human beings exist in the world,[41][32] by taking them as host bodies through Reincarnation. In the original Tsukihime, he loses more of his identity with each soul he assimilates into his own, but in the continuity of Tsukihime Remake, this is not the case.
- Olympian Soldier — Demeter Klironomia makes them immortal.
- Ozymandias — A divine protection of Ramesseum Tentyris that grants immortality to Ozymandias and his Guardian Beasts, making total destruction of both the temple and Ozymandias himself necessary to defeat him.[42]
- Paracelsus — While not immortal himself, he is able to create the Philosopher's Stone with a high degree of purity, such that it can grant someone a limited form of immortality.[43]
- Riesbyfe Stridberg - Eternal youth through Gamaliel's ability to halt the user's aging.
- Scáthach - Complete immortality, having turned halfway into a Divine Spirit at the end of a long time, became an immortal existence. She can no longer die as a person.[44][45][46]
- Servants (Servant Universe) - Normally, there is no such thing as lasting death in the Servant Universe. Servants that disappear eventually respawn randomly in another part of the universe, or reincarnate in a new body, or even interfere in a Parallel World. That is what it means for a Soul to be tangible.[47]
- Souren Araya — His Origin of "Stillness" has made him extremely difficult to kill, since something that is already "still" supposedly cannot be killed. Touko believes that he differs from Magi who would fade away should they ever touch the Root, and that at least some shade of himself will remain in the world and possibly bring great destruction.[48] He is effectively immortal in a sense due to his consciousness surviving even if his body should rot and crumble to dust, and he has reconstituted himself after such a death from aging several times, having taken new physical bodies each time.[49]
- Stheno and Euryale - Eternal youth, never aging unlike the other Gods of their pantheon that needed to consume Golden Apples to maintain their eternal lives.[50]
- Touko Aozaki - Creates Puppet copies of her body that are exactly identical to her original body. Exists in a state of superposition between all her copies at once, and will "wake up" in a new body if her current one is killed. Appears to have eternal youth in addition to this, and is speculated by Francesca Prelati to have attained some form of the Third Magic.[35]
- True Ancestors - Eternal youth and the Curse of Restoration, but do not need to consume blood to stay alive like the Dead Apostles.
- World of Fate/Requiem - All humans living in the world except Erice Utsumi are immortal. Chitose Manazuru's wish on the Holy Grail had brought immortality to the masses. The principal causes of death in the old world – biological factors such as aging, genetic degradation, infectious diseases, viruses and malignant cancers – had all been conquered. However, people can still be murdered. By expending Command Spells, one could even manipulate their biological age. In Mosaic City, one of humanity’s oldest, dearest wishes – eternal youth – had been realized.[51]
- Zouken Matou - Became a swarm of Crest Worms. As time went on, his method of immortality caused his soul to decay, leading to him needing to consume human flesh similar to a Dead Apostle, and causing him to appear as a wizened old man.[52]

[] Fate/complete material III: World material - Theory of Magic - Magecraft: "Magic" making the impossible possible, p.048 "Magic" making the impossible possible
True Magic. This is a different mystery than magery. Magi call the events that are unachievable by magery and science in that age True Magic. If that event could be achieved by time and resources, then no matter the difficulty, that event will not be seen as True Magic.
When the civilization of mankind was still young, all magery had been True Magic. But along with the advancement of science, the number of things that "could be done" by people had increased, and in exchange, True Magic diminished. The number of remaining "True Magics" in the modern era are extremely few, only 5. In "Fate/stay night", the achievement of one of these, the "Third True Magic", occupied the portion of the Grail War that could also be said to be its base.
All magi strive to arrive at "True Magic". Even if they can't reach it, the next generation will. Even the next generation can't reach it, then the one after....and like that, thus was weaved the history of trial and error of magery.
True Magic
Explanation
First True Magic One of the oldest True Magics but the details about it are unknown. What it involves appears to be common knowledge to some magi of privileged rank. Though the wielder of the First Magic is already passed from this World, it is said that a personage who is of direct descent narrowly survives.
Second True Magic The True Magic that observes the infinite parallel worlds and travels between alternative worlds. Its user is Kischur Zelretch Schweinorg. With this magic, this man was able to create a jewel sword to absorb mana from the other worlds and a box that could store an immense amount of objects.
Third True Magic Materialization of the soul, in other words, the magic that realizes true immortality. When accomplished, the practitioner will acquire an unlimited source of magical energy due to the soul becoming analogous to a perpetual motion machine. This is the Magic of the Einzbern lineage, and the Holy Grail War was established to acquire this Magic.
Fourth True Magic Like the First True Magic, the details about it are unknown. What it involves hasn't been heard of either. But, the currently existing wizards, when pointing out to the Fourth True Magic, they'll all say "it is there for sure", and will agree that it exists. Also, they don't know the name of the user either.
Fifth True Magic The True Magic that the Traveling Magician Aozaki Aoko inherited from her grandfather. Its nickname is "Magic Blue." The user Aozaki Aoko is average as a magus but displays transcendence with destruction. Because of this trait, there is a rumor that "Magic Blue" is also a True Magic involving destruction.
•The Five Magicians
There are five True Magics left in the current age. Those who use them are called "Magicians". The user of the First Magic, the oldest True Magic, is said to be dead, so the ones that are "still alive" are four. Let's say that "what had been possible only by True Magic" then becomes achievable by developments in magery or scientific technology. True Magic will be lowered to a mere "craft". Many True Magics were lost from the world like that. Then, can the power of "True Magic" only fade out hereon? No. The arrival of magi at existing or as of yet uncharted new Magic can allow new True Magic to be born and the numbers to be increased. Needless to say, this is far more difficult than a camel passing through the eye of a needle and finding one speck of a jewel in a desert. However, it's not impossible. The existence of the Wizards is proof of that. Thus, magi strive for the heights of True Magic. Believing they will one day reach the stars in the skies with their own hands, they continue dedicating themselves to their studies daily.
•Death of True Magic, Death of a Magician
A Magician, just like a magus, has a long life. If one uses life-prolonging magic, it wouldn't be impossible to live a few hundred, a few thousand years either. But, the "end" will come for sure. Then, would the death of a Magician mean the death of the True Magic he uses? No, it would not. True Magic will be passed on to the inheritor of the next generation and will not disappear. If True Magic were to die, it would only be when it could be realized by normal means. - ↑ Tsukihime -A piece of blue glass moon- - Moon Princess route - Day 10: "Vermillion, Crimson Moon I"

[] Fate/complete material II: Character material - Weapons: Harpe, p.135 User: Gilgamesh
A divine sword from Greek mythology. One of the Noble Phantasms owned by Gilgamesh. It has a special shape similar to a scythe, with the cutting edge on the inside of the blade. It also has the power to negate the “undying” attribute. The hero Perseus received the sword from Hermes, so that he could exterminate the snake-haired witch Medusa. The legend goes that Perseus approached Medusa – who would turn everybody that looked at her into stone – by using a mirrored shield, and then cut off her head with Harpe while she slept. Because Perseus returned Harpe to Hermes once the task was completed, it can be considered an “Anti-Medusa” weapon.

Comment from Takeuchi Takashi: When compared, a lot of spoilers appear. His design is quite rare, which I really like. When he’s wearing his school uniform, he’s an interestingly two-sided character.
Explanation: A Servant who lost his Master. Often dresses up as a student. Is in the same year as Ayaka. Has gentle looks, and at first glance is a trendy, nice looking man. Although he has sociable manners, is easily moved, and is a gentle hearted young man, he has the flaw that, once motivated to do something, he will not stop until he gives it his all and then some more. In this sense, he is also an anomaly.
Once he decided to stain his hands with wrongdoing, he became capable of killing innocents with a gentle manner and smile. His true name is that of a hero from Greek mythology, Perseus. Among the Servants, only he obtained an ending that wasn’t a “bad end”. Although he possesses numerous Noble Phantasms, he is restricted to only being able to use one at a time. The flying winged sandals, the mantle which changes its wearer’s appearance (in the myth it is a helmet), the mirror shield bestowed by Athena (radar, sonar), the serpent-hunting sickle Harpe (kills immortals), the bag that held the demon’s severed head, Kibisis (Mirrored bounded field), and finally the same pegasus’ bridle as in Fate/Stay Night (Bellerophon).

[] Fate/Prototype Tribute Phantasm, p.024-025 - Rider Servant Rider
“…For him, who wished for the happiness of everyone—For his sake, I will slaughter you all.”
“The Holy Grail is excessive for the tastes of the magi. As a Heroic Spirit, I will use it correctly, the way it was meant to be used.”
A Stray Servant with no Master. His true name is the hero from Greek Mythology, Perseus. Though he is the only one of the seven summoned Servants to not have a “tragic end”, he welcomes gory deaths even as the form of the boy, who wished only peace for everyone, buries itself in his heart and drives him on his insane killing sprees. He owns a wide selection of Noble Phantasms, like the Sandals that fly through the air, the Mantle that changes the appearance of the wearer (a helmet in the myths), the bronze mirror shield that Athena gave him (equipped with radar and sonar), the snake hunting sickle Harpe (kills immortals), the bag that stores the head of monsters Kibisis (a mirror world type bounded field), and the familiar Pegasus-handling bridle from FSN, Bellerophon. He is the very person who killed FSN Rider (Medusa).
Armor and Mask: When acting as a Servant, Rider hides his true form behind a mask and a cape. This cape is a Noble Phantasm that can obscure the appearance of its wearer. Though Rider holds a large variety of Noble Phantasms, he has a limit that allows him to use only one at a time.
The Mask acts as a fake Master, supplying him with magical energy. In order to get enough magical energy, Rider has to kill again and again (most likely to eat souls so he can get power). His Master, on the verge of death, gave him a physical form, which he used to challenge Saber, but…
Usually, he disguises himself as a normal high-school boy in Rider’s class. He’s the popular boy of the class due to having a modern sort of beauty, getting along well with others, and being gentle. The scenes of him at school show his two-faced nature.
When showing his true face, Rider never wipes away his smile. In his heart, he knows this is the opposite of what the boy wanted, but for the sake of his Master’s happiness, he would kill again and again. What sort of expression is he showing on the face streaked with bloody tears that will not stop?Servant Rider

Profile
The youngest of the Gorgon Sisters that appears in Greek Mythology.
A goddess born as a perfected "image (idol)", the embodiment of men's longing.
Due some factor, the anti-hero Medusa acquired a condition as a goddess that is close to that of her two sisters and manifested as a Servant.
Level 1 Bond
Height/Weight: 134cm・30kg?
Source: Greek Mythology
Region: Europe
Alignment: Neutral Good Gender: Female
Her personal statement is that her weight “is the same as my sisters”
Level 2 Bond
Her appearance is that of a lovely girl similar to her sisters, and the personality has also changed from when she is a Rider.
However, unlike her sisters who are “eternal young girls that cannot live on unless they borrow the help from another”, she is already endowed to some extent with the power to fight, the demoniac buds that can take many lives.
Level 3 Bond
"Embrace of the Goddess"
Rank: B Type: Anti-Unit
Caress of the Medusa.
The abilities that up until now Medusa (Rider) had possessed as skills - in other words, that which the current Medusa should acquire in the “future” - attained as a Noble Phantasm.
After haunting with the immortal-slayer blade on her hands, she instantly turns the opponents within her line of sight into stone - an effect by means of mystic eyes of the highest level, “Cybele”.
She performs a fierce attack with this at its focal point.
Level 4 Bond
- Beautiful Voice of Fascination: B
The same personal skill that her sisters possess.
It works as a fascination magecraft-like effect towards males, but evasion is possible by means of the skill Magic Resistance. Even without Magic Resistance, one should be able to abate it so long he maintains a will to resist.
Level 5 Bond
- Monstrous Strength: C
The ability to temporarily amplify STR. An offensive special quality that only monsters, magical beasts have. It is possible to temporarily raise STR in 1 Rank by an amount of time that depends on the rank in this Skill.
...rank is low because her demoniac disposition is small.
- Feelings Towards the Distance: A
The distance that might have been someday---
The feelings towards those beloved days support her struggle to the very end.
Interlude
A divine spirit-type of Servant that originally would never be summoned.
She manifested during the crisis of the demise of human history, but...
Since she was summoned at Chaldea, there is probably at least two individuals she wants to meet.
At first she will be unable to easily get close to them, and will probably only be manage to stare at them at a distance while shedding tears, but lets just watch over without rushing things.

[] Character Material - Godo, p.029 Introduction - Godo
His real name has been erased. Generally known as Gun God or God Imitator. One of the few old-generation “humans” surviving in this wasteland.
Humans – strong as living creatures, yet weak as existences – were almost completely eliminated on doomsday. The survivors, being unable to adapt to the Grain permeating the atmosphere, were soon to follow.
During these last days, the surviving humans created the artificial paradise.
Although this artificial paradise was quickly destroyed by The Black Aristoteles, Godo was unlucky enough to receive environmental adaptation treatment, and thus his life was saved. He became the world’s last surviving human and continued to live.
But, even if he was a survivor, his future was short.
For Godo, his current life was akin to living on the moon. Without the help of machines and medicines, he would not even be able to breathe properly, and the food that he puts in his mouth is like poison.
Because his prospects were so bleak, or perhaps because he had already faced death many times, his worldview became very self-torturing but not quite pessimistic (“resignation” could be a good way to describe it), and he lived leisurely passing by the days.
In the past, wanting revenge, he excavated Black Barrel from the sealed region of Atlasia, and participated in the battle to prevent Type:Venus’ descent. Afterwards, in order to escape further conflicts, he concealed his whereabouts.
According to rumors, he participated in a certain city’s fight to repel Type:Saturn, and died there.
Although he is the weakest, he is a sniper able to withstand the poison of the strongest.
Explanation - Black Barrel
A black gun. It is a weapon that can destroy the Fifth Theoretical Element, and is constructed from the Fifth True Element.
It is called a conceptual weapon of natural life by the Six Sisters.
The bullets can ignore the abilities of anything that uses Grain and cause direct damage.
It is similar to a cancer cell directly invading a body.
One of the reasons that humans have degraded as is that they have no way to utilize the Grain in the air. As soon as they breathe it in, they die.
The moment that this new energy source, Grain, rejected them, humans became the weakest of all life forms, but Black Barrel could be called the one weapon that reverses that specific weak point.
It has many uses, and by changing its fittings it can be made to act as a sniper rifle.
It normally takes the form of a rifle with a curved stock.
At the time of its excavation, it seems that there was an original and also a replica. The gun that Godo always uses is the original.

Ciel's Arc Drive.
The conceptual armament that Ciel is authorized to carry. Although it is called a scripture, it's actually an enormous pile bunker.
An iron hammer created by the Church in order to renounce the heretical doctrine of transmigration. Over a millennium has passed since it was first forged, and there's even an elemental dwelling within it, but…
Before Ciel remodeled it, it was only effective against spiritual entities. Now, however, it has been transformed into a lump of iron that can pound a vampire to death with its physical attack power alone. It has a gross weight of 60 kilograms, and a maximum weight of twice that with optional attachments.
During Ciel's Arc Drive, she drives the stake into her opponent. Afterward, what is ejected from the magazine is not an empty cartridge, but pages of the holy scripture. For vampires, this is no different from being directly injected with the holy scripture itself. There is no doubt that it is a surefire "Immortal Killer".

Andreias Amarantos. The Noble Phantasm that maintains Rider of Red’s immortality. It grants his entire body, excluding his heel, the blessing of immortality, and negates all attacks from those who don’t possess the “Divinity” skill. Also, if the skill’s rank isn’t equal or higher than Achilles’ own “Divinity” rank, the damage won’t go through completely, reduced to 75% of the damage for D rank “Divinity” and to 50% for E rank. Additionally, even without Divinity, damage will be dealt as long as the attacking Noble Phantasm is a divine armament. In that case, the damage calculation would depend on the rank of the divine armament.

[] Fate/complete material III: World material - Theory of Magic - The two great forces in the Thaumaturgy world: Mage's Association, p.051 “Clock Tower”, the Highest Institute of Magic
The Clock Tower, the core of the Association and in fact what could also be said to be the Association itself, is based in the British museum of London. Magi from all over the world gather and devote themselves day and night to the study of magic, while at the same time, are busily tripping over and being tripped over by other factions and competing for power and budget. The organization is anything but harmonious and has a complicated bizarre structure, but the magical research there is without doubt the leading edge.
Below the building, there is the magi’s research area which includes studies and archives. It is only a venerable museum to normal people of course, but at the deepest part, there is a special area (prison?) called the “Bottom of the Bridge” where the Association confines many sealing designated magi deemed to be “dangerous because their talents were too outstanding.” Also, apparently the Gazamy the “Evil Spook”, treated as the number one disaster in the Association, is locked up at the bottom of the London tower.
The person of highest position in the Clock Tower, the “Director” has been the same person for the 2000 years since the founding of the organization, and because of this is thought to be something more than human.
The organization handling patents relating to magic is also the Clock Tower, and the current finances of the Tohsaka family is being by covered by the patent royalties that are being transferred to their account.
Ranks of Magi
A magus is given a “rank” that matches his ability. The highest is said to be Crown (Grand), but details on it are unknown. Note that Lord El-melloi II, lecturer at the Clock Tower who has produced many Grands among his pupils, is stuck in the mediocre “fourth rank” for some reason.
Color ranks
Separate from the normal ranks, color-based titles are given to those that have become special.
The highest are red, blue, and yellow based on the three primary colors. After that, there are the combined colors of orange, purple, green, black, and so on. The further down you go, the less your rank is. Note that there is no rule about only one person for each color. The Association will, without any stinginess, award a color to you if you’re a magus of great stature or one with an unusual talent.
Sealing Designation Enforcers
If you receive a “sealing designation”, you will be confined and even your magic research will be gone, not to mention your freedom. Thus, the person given that designation will of course desperately resist that and won’t stop fighting. To forcefully retrieve magi who were qualified enough to be given a sealing designation, the Association dispatches “Enforcers.” There are around 30 of them total, and Bazett is one of them.
Lords, consuming their time in power struggles
In the Magic Association, no rather, the Clock Tower, there are a number of families that hold sway. They are called Lords and are the objects of fear. There are three major families of Lords and about 20 families of relatives. These families are well-known even in normal society. The history of one family is at shortest 500 years and the longest is over 2000 years. They have been plotting and plotting since a staggeringly long past.
The Sea of Estray, together with the Atlas Institute, is an organization called the original form of the Magic Association.
Among the founders of the Magic Association, there had been many heretical magi who were exiled from the Sea of Estray and the Atlas Institute and had no place left to go.
The base of the Sea of Estray is in Northern Europe. This base, with the nickname of the Moving Stone Coffin, is itself a moving mountain range. Normally it is wandering at sea as its name suggests, but sometimes it comes up on dry land.
It seems they research mainly body alteration, but the specifics are unknown.
*What is an alchemist?
One who studies the flow of matter. That is what an alchemist is. The alchemists of the Clock Tower created products like the homunculi of the Einzbern by merging with western magery.
However, the ultimate goal of the alchemists of the Atlas Institute is set even closer to the original ideology, as the "transformation of events". The often spoke-up "transformation of base metal to gold" in alchemy is, to the members of the Atlas Institute, mere "transformation of matter" and is nothing more than a primitive art far removed from their ideals. Their alchemy is an advancement of the metallurgy of ancient Egypt, the root of the discipline, and has not been influenced by western magery like the alchemy that the Clock Tower magi handle. - ↑ Clock Tower 2015 - 03 Autumn - Suburb of London - Clock Tower Eleventh District

- Age: 18 (estimated)
- Blood type: O
- Height: 165cm
- Weight: 52kg
- Birthday: May 3rd
- Alignment: Lawful Evil (Good from an objective perspective, but Ciel considers herself evil)
- Likes: Spicy food, volunteer work, tinkering, puppies
- Dislikes: Lazy lifestyles, vampires
- Natural enemy: None in particular (she’s an all-rounder)
Comment from the illustrator: One of the main heroines in this game. Arc’s narrative foil. While she’s the Tsukihime heroine with the biggest variety of outfits, she isn’t particularly fashionable, which fits with her unaffected and sincere personality. She doesn’t stop getting into battle after battle, to the point it feels like all of her CGs are fight scenes. I made her more sprites in cute poses to compensate that.
Explanation: Birth name: Elesia. A girl born in the French countryside. Being chosen as Roa's new body caused her to awaken at age 12, become a vampire, take over her village, and eventually become a center figure of what would be called the French Incident. But after being defeated by Arcueid, Roa transferred to the next incarnation and the corpse taken to the Curia revived as Elesia. The girl, now immortal for as long as Roa is alive, discarded her name, was baptized as Ciel, and joined the Church as a vampire hunter. In order to one day die as a human.
Sensing Roa's reincarnation, Ciel assigned herself alone to Souya town to punish him. She lives a double life, steadily getting rid of the constantly proliferating vampires by night, and infiltrating a school by day to investigate and observe her Roa body candidate, Toono Shiki, eldest son of the Toono family. Despite her suspicions about the assignment of her pupil Noel, she tries to use Shiki to seal and/or destroy Roa, but things don't go as planned.
One of the story's heroines. She looks about 16-18. She's poses as upperclassman in Shiki's school but is actually a Holy Church Executor who came to Souya after Roa. The people of the Church call her by the pejorative name Quinze. Although she explains their secrets to Shiki as he gets involved in the situation, the mystery woman doesn't tell him a thing about herself. She's Lawful Good. Extroverted, timid, and active. Has a generally quiet and caring personality. However she's also nosy and curious, and can't leave lazy or depressed people alone.
The character whose personality best fits the big sister archetype. She takes cares of people and does anything they ask. She's satisfied with her class representative-like position... but, things get different if she grows affectionate to the person she's helping. Her teasing can get mean-spirited. Maybe she just likes troubling her loved ones.
However, that's all just the base Ciel. She uses a different persona as an Executor, so she can become a cold-blooded machine to fulfill her objectives if necessary.シエル

Legend
A demigod hero of Greek Mythology, he was born between the King of Gods Zeus and a human girl. He received the violent hatred of Zeus' wife Hera because of his origins and was tormented by the goddess at every turn. However, he entirely overcame the difficulties he had been given, and was enshrined as a god in the end.
Heracles had an extremely violent temperament as an infant, and grew up as a shepherd in order to obtain a gentle heart. Having grown into a fine adult, Heracles was recognized for several feats, and gained two children as well as the right of succession to the throne. However, Hera made Heracles go temporarily insane and he killed his wife and children, ending up in the role of a slave to the king to atone for his sins. Here the jealous king gave him a challenge, the famous Twelve Labors. The Labors were all things that a human could not achieve but Heracles completed them safely, and at the same time he was freed from slavery, he received an immortal body.
However, the adventures of Heracles and Hera's hatred did not end there. Hera's numerous artifices resulted in Heracles' poisoning by his own wife from his second marriage. In his final moments, Heracles cremated himself, surrendering to Zeus's judgment. The gods after consulting recognize Heracles' feats, and he was recruited as a god like his father, becoming a constellation.
Tactics
An excellent warrior, he possesses the qualifications corresponding to six classes excluding Caster. Other than specializing with the bow, he has mastered every weapon. However, all that is talk about times when he is not Berserker. Heracles as a Berserker has lost his rationality, and exists only to utterly defeat the enemy from the front as directed by Illya. Naturally, there is no such thing as detailed tactics, leaving it to physical ability and brandishing an axe-sword to strike. Astonishingly, with just that, it is a fact that he demonstrates hand-to-hand combat abilities superior to every Servant. Without breaking to even think about defense, he leaves it to his Noble Phantasm "God Hand."
Class Abilities
Mad Enhancements: B
The Class Skill that characterizes Berserker, it reinforces ability at the cost of reason. As Heracles' possesses the skill at Rank B, in compensation for losing most of his sanity, the levels of all his abilities rise. Heracles beat his harp instructor to death when he was a child, and had many episodes when he killed people in his rage without even hearing them speak. It seems that for Heracles, Berserker that receives "Mad Enhancement" was an easy class to adapt to. Focusing on controllability when out of combat, the rank of "Mad Enhancement" is suppressed by Illya.
Being close to the strongest Heroic Spirit, even restricted to simple direct melee as consequence of Mad Enhancement, Heracles was undoubtedly the strongest among the Servants. However, because of Mad Enhancement, a variety of sword techniques and skills, and a part of his Noble Phantasms was lost. Having his emotions also sealed off and not able to perform any personally motivated actions, only the reason within his core was not lost, having occasions when he felt something like the will to protect Illya.
Personal Abilities
Battle Continuation: A
A skill that allows for the continuation of combat after sustaining mortal wounds. It will also reduce mortality rate from injury. Cú Chulainn’s Battle Continuation represents “never give up no matter what”, while Hercules’ represents the ability to survive. The Noble Phantasm that allows for resurrection after death, God Hand, has exceptional compatibility with the “will not die easily” skill Battle Continuation.
The best result is achieved when a resilient body is combined with this skill.
Eye of the Mind (False): B
A danger avoidance ability based on Intuition/Sixth Sense, gained through many ordeals and adventures. Even though Hercules’ sanity was lost due to Mad Enhancement, this skill remained effective as it is nearly an instinct. When crossing swords with a seasoned swordsman like Artoria, he would not fall for half-hearted feints. It is such a troublesome ability for Hercules’ opponents.
Although monstrous in size, Hercules has the highest rank in Agility. As a result, it is very difficult to corner him.
Bravery: A+
With his brave and daring spirit, Herakles is able to neutralise mental interference such as suppression, confusion and charm. However, under the influence of Mad Enhancement, this skill is unable to take effect. While operating correctly, Bravery also increases the damage inflicted upon the opponent during melee combat. This skill allowed Herakles to defeat several monsters empty-handed.
Even the brave warrior’s heart was painted over by the insanity of Mad Enhancement.
Divinity: A
Being a mixed-race child of the King of Gods Zeus and a human, and becoming a god after death, Herakles naturally possessed the highest level of the Divinity skill. However, this matter became a disaster, ending with his complete entrapment in Gilgamesh's Noble Phantasm "Chains of Heaven" that grows in strength proportionate to the enemy's Divinity.
Noble Phantasm
God Hand: Twelve Labors
Rank: B
Type: Anti-Unit
Range: -
Maximum Targets:
A blessing of Gods, as well as a curse. It is a Noble Phantasm given to Heracles, representing immortality. This Noble Phantasm does not have an overt external manifestation such as a weapon or armour, but if you hazard to put a shape to it, the body itself can be called the Noble Phantasm. God Hand turns one’s body into a tough suit of armour and nullifies all attacks Rank B or lower, regardless the attack being physical or magical. It also has the effect of automatic resurrection after death. Because the resurrection effect has 11 uses, Heracles cannot perish unless killed 12 times. In addition, due to Illya’s immense magical energy, given enough time, the lives lost can also be regenerated.
Resurrection as well as attack-nullification. Besides these two effects, God Hand also possesses a third effect: rendering an attack that it has experienced before useless. Regardless how powerful is the Noble Phantasm that defeated Heracles, it would be completely nullified after he resurrects.
Nine Lives: The Shooting Hundred Heads
Rank: -
Type: -
Range: -
Maximum Targets: -
Among Hercules’Noble Phantasms, he trusted this one the most. It was the Noble Phantasm which Hercules used to slay the immortal nine-headed serpent Hydra once upon a time, taking the form of bow and arrow. After killing the Hydra, Hercules could even utilise techniques that emulate the ability of this Noble Phantasm when wielding other weapons. In essence, it is “a high speed attack consisting of nine consecutive strikes, as swift as if the attacks are overlapping”. Even when delivered via sword, spear, or axe, this technique still boasts power on the level of Noble Phantasms. Also, just like Cú Chulainn’s demonic spear Gae Bolg has a technique called “Gae Bolg – Piercing Death Thorn”, Hercules’ technique shares the “Nine Lives – Shooting of Hundred Heads” name with the Noble Phantasm.
Shirou projected this secret sword technique while projecting Hercules’ Axe Sword, thus annihilating the Blackened Hercules. While summoned as a Berserker, Hercules could not use Nine Lives. - ↑

[] Fate/stay night [Unlimited Blade Works] Season 2 DVD Booklet Animation Elements p.19-27 [T] • The origins of Einzbern
A factory originally created by the students of the magician who realized the third magic. Began in the year 1 AD.
They attempted to reproduce their master’s miracle, but couldn’t do it themselves, so as an alternate plan they tried to recreate a specimen identical to their master and have it reproduce the magic.
After nearly 900 years of effort, Justeaze—the homunculus who would come to be called the Winter Saint—was forged.
She was a model that strayed from what the magi had intended, created completely by accident, but her abilities were equal to or above those of their master.
The magi should have been elated about Justeaze, but they couldn’t be happy. After all, she was a mutation that was born regardless of their own techniques or skills.
Even if that specimen was to reproduce the third magic, that conclusion would be harder for them to bear than 900 years of failure.
The magi deperately attempted to create a homunculus that excelled Justeaze by their own techniques.
The artificial intelligence created to act as the castle’s central management—the golem Jubstacheit—was the pinnacle of their craft, and became the father of all homunculi created at Einzbern.
Justeaze succeeded at proving the third magic.
However, it was not cost-effective. Justeaze’s use of the third magic was like careful knitting. It would take several years to save just one person, making the salvation of the entire human race virtually unattainable.
In addition, while Justeaze herself did not age, her body was so frail it would take little to kill her, so she could not leave the castle.
Since her intelligence and mentality were also unaging, she did not develop at all. From an outside perspective, it was as if she was repeating a single day for all eternity.
If she were to leave the castle she would be freed from this “single day,” but the act of leaving the castle signified an easy death for Justeaze.
In the end, they accepted that humans could create something that surpassed humans, but not something that could save humans.
… Or perhaps they would not have failed if a miracle like Justeaze had not occurred.
The magi despaired the limits of their abilities. Some abandoned the castle, while others took their own lives.
The homunculi left at Einzbern were abandoned by their creators, but in their purity, they continued to operate the factory for the sake of the creators’ ideology—the salvation of humankind, the reproduction of a miracle.
From then on, all homunculi created at Einzbern were based off of Justeaze.
Jubstacheit created a humanoid terminal unit, and used it as the manager of Einzbern. Though by the end he operated even Acht (the eighth humanoid terminal), he did not possess a personality.
He only included the necessary “humanity” to operate the castle and reproduce the third magic into each of his humanoid terminals, and made them act like humans.
Jubstacheit is essentially an automaton that cannot progress, but continues operating in perpetuity. His way of existence is just like an old clock ticking away, being forgotten by people before running down.
• The great grail
Five hundred years after the magi departed from Einzbern, a model plan was devised for a wide-area operation device for the third magic using Justeaze.
Einzbern had determined that reproducing Justeaze was impossible.
Their plan of keeping Justeaze safe because she was a unique and valuable model switched to a plan to use that unique model to mass-produce miracles.
(This was not Jubstacheit’s plan, but a consensus of opinion within Einzbern. Because the homunculi were pure, they chose the method with the greatest probability of success. In fact, Jubstacheit was the only intelligence that voted against this.)
Justeaze could only use the third magic on one human over a period of decades. Therefore, using Justeaze as a frame, they would create a “greater” magic formula and save many humans at once.
The plan was to disassemble her magic circuits and replace them with a magic formula, creating a humanoid universe—the great grail.
But Einzbern alone could not start this project.
They were no more than dolls. They had no way to live in the outside world, and they couldn’t handle the complexity of human society.
To create the great grail and reproduce the third magic, they needed understanding and cooperative humans.
Then, in the year 1800, a guest arrived at the winter castle that had continued to produce homunculi.
Makiri Zolken. A magus who had devoted his life to eliminating all the evils of the world, the evils of humanity.
(At this point, Zolken was mostly disillusioned. He knew it was about time to give up, but calling on Einzbern was his last hope. He met Justeaze, and felt a complicated mix of emotions—hope towards fulfilling his ambition, jealousy at her ability to use the third magic, and pity for Justeaze’s eternal youth causing her to “repeat the same day.”)
With Makiri’s understanding and Tōsaka’s cooperation, Einzbern began to create the great grail.
However, once they started, they determined that Justeaze alone was not enough.
They could create a great grail. They could create its core. However, to operate it they would need vast amounts of magical energy, and a lesser grail to control it.
Makiri and Tōsaka devised a ritual to collect magical energy using Justeaze’s ability to connect with the root: the grail war.
Despite being unable to reproduce Justeaze, Einzbern created a lesser grail with similar abilities to hers.
After 10 years, the project was finally complete.
The grail war ritual was successful, and the great grail lit up.
But its first operation ended in dismal failure.
There was no flaw in the great grail itself.
The problem lay in the craftsmen and magi who participated.
Instead of using the precious magic reactor core for the sake of the whole planet, the magi killed each other out of a desire to use it for the sake of their own race or society.
Einzbern had been unable to understand the thought processes of the humans who operated the great grail.
• Irisviel and Illyasviel
Einzbern learned from the failure of the grail war and changed their plans.
Justeaze no longer existed.
While preparing to restart the great grail, they returned to their original goal and focused on creating a perfect homunculus.
As a result, they created Irisviel, a homunculus with the function of a lesser grail. They expanded on her further and Illyasviel, a homunculus that was the pinnacle of Einzbern’s technique, was born.
• Tuners
This is a digression, but separate from the winter castle is the tuners’ building (a small house), inhabited by a family of human magi, not homunculi.
Since the homunculi cannot negotiate with human society, the tuners went into town in their place and barter for needed materials. Traders, essentially.
Still, they are a talented magus family, and possess strong artistry. Humans without strong aesthetic sense could never take care of Einzbern, after all.
The tuner family’s numbers dwindled along with Einzbern’s decline, and in the end only one remained.
It seems he often worked in the castle as a butler, teaching the secluded, medieval-minded homunculi about the outside world.
It’s unknown what kind of conclusion that tuner chose after Illya lost and Jubstacheit shut himself down.
• In summary: so what is Einzbern?
A factory in which homunculi continued operating towards the ideals and goals humans had given them, after the magi had left.
Jubstacheit is something like the factory’s central management program. A monolith. Acht is his terminal.
Even after their creators had given up and died, the homunculi in the winter castle devoted themselves to making their masters’ dream come true.
What lies at the basis of the Einzbern factory and many discarded things is the purity of machines.
Imagine a doll that can speak to its owner, but only a few phrases.
“Hello,” “thank you,” “I’m sorry,” “good night”—“I love you.”
These reactions delight the buyer, but it’s clear that they will soon be disappointed.
“No matter what I say, the doll can only say predetermined phrases. It just keeps repeating that tired old ‘I love you.’ ”
Realizing that the love the doll speaks of is a false emotion, the buyer will likely discard it eventually.
But humans are the ones who see that as empty words and a manufactured fake.
Even if it doesn’t have a “heart,” even if it’s only repeating the same words, there are no lies in the actions of machines.
They innocently carry out the task they were given.
“I love you.”
Though abandoned, forgotten, and scorned as out-of-date dolls, they continue to carry out their mission, unchanged from the time they were designed.
Machines do not lose their worth when a newer model appears.
Their worth (life) ends when humans can no longer bear that purity.■

Kara no Kyoukai Volume 5: Paradox Spiral Touko shook her head, an act of pity rather than denial.
"I can't deny it. At this stage the Counter Force isn't going to move. You might actually succeed this time.
Further, I have no idea what will happen if someone such as yourself, who hates mankind so deeply, touches the Root. If it were a normal magus, he'd move on to that other world and forget all about ours, without a doubt. But you, you're different. Even if you touch the Root, some shade of yourself will almost certainly remain on this side. This entire country might even be annihilated as a result. Because, if somebody like you that hates humans seriously intends to save humans, the only possible result is the ultimate end of all suffering: death.
But, Araya. You don't really hate humans. You're merely infatuated with the ideal image of humanity you harbor within your heart. That's why you cannot tolerate the humans of this ugly, shameful world. You'll save humanity? Ha! Don't make me laugh. You don't want to save humanity. You just want to save your own delusions of a humanity that never even existed."
Kara no Kyoukai Volume 5: Paradox Spiral The magus stood motionless in the hallway after destroying that thing called Enjou Tomoe.
It was almost time. Half a day had passed since he switched from the body he was using up until yesterday to the spare he was using now, and his consciousness finally permeated every cell of it. Of course, Araya Souren had not prepared identical bodies in advance in case he died, like some kind of Puppet master. In fact, he has never experienced death at all.
Though his body has rotted and crumbled to dust from age several times, his consciousness alone survived unbroken. Araya Souren has remained a solitary existence through to the bitter end. Therefore, there was no refuge to flee to should his current body be ruined. He would have to act carefully.
However, there was no longer any reason to wait. The will of the soul called Araya Souren had much experience bringing physical bodies under its control. Already the Magic Circuits, the wiring that moves his physical form, reached as far as his fingers and toes. The process was complete. The magus' temporary body had been completely sublimated into the real thing.
And so, in order to accomplish his original goal, the magus began to move.
But, before that, he sensed something amiss within the apartment building.
"---Were you defeated, Alba?"
Muttering disinterestedly, the magus shut his eyes.
Inside the dark hallway, as if sinking into a fathomless sea, Araya fell into a trance.
