Irene Ashborn (イレーネ・アッシュボーン, Irēne Asshubōn^?) is one of the people involved in the Adra Castle incident of Lord El-Melloi II Case Files.

Profile

Background

Irene was the wife of Geryon Ashborn, but he proved infertile in their attempts to have an heir. When she met her old friend Orlocke Caesarmund, who her husband approached as a research partner, for the first time in years, love blossomed between them. From their one-time affair, she bore Glannid Ashborn, although she succumbed to illness soon after. Glannid would later die of the same illness.

Following their passing, Geryon turned Irene into the Ashborn Beast (アッシュボーンの獣, Asshubōn no Jū^?) as a familiar to hold Magic Crests.

As the Ashborn Beast, Irene can attack people with a "song" that temporarily disables their Magic Crest, although that only works inside the castle. She's also extremely fast and strong. She was able to kill Heine Istari, an extremely capable mage, in a fight with the latter using his Living Stone, a spell comparable to a low-tier Noble Phantasm.
