Identity[]
Izanami is one of the creator gods of Japanese mythology. Along with Izanagi, she created the islands of Japan by churning the ocean with their spear Ame-no-Nuboko.[2] She then gave birth to several gods including Amaterasu, Susanoo, and Tsukuyomi.
Izanami is a goddess of the underworld.[3][2] She became a god of death that killed humans after the making of the country.[4]
She goes by the nickname Nami (ナミ?).[5][6]

Tamamo-no-Mae mentions that her mother is the original yandere. When Hakuno Kishinami slaps Tamamo she describes her mother and father Nami and Nagi never hit her once.[5]

Fate/Requiem[]
Izanami was summoned as a Servant and had a child with Mr. Utsumi. They named their daughter Erice.[6][7] When Erice was young she lived with her parents in Mosaic City's Shinjuku. After they died, Mr. Utsumi's mother Chitose Manazuru raised Erice.[6]
It is currently unknown how a Servant was able to have a child. In Fate/Apocrypha, Jeanne d'Arc says that because they have spiritual bodies it should be impossible for a Servant to get pregnant, but they might be able to if they are incarnated or possessing a human body.[8]

Tamamo mentions her father Nagi and mother Nami.
In Fate/Extra CCC, Tamamo-no-Mae (a Divided Spirit of Izanami's daughter Amaterasu) mentions her father Nagi and mother Nami.[5]
Abilities[]
Her daughter Erice, when summoned as a Lancer-class Quasi-Servant in Fate/Grand Order, has inherited the power of a god of the underworld. This gives Erice the Divinity skill and the spear Ame-no-Sakahoko, a replica of Izanagi and Izanami's spear Ame-no-Nuboko.[2]
Development[]
Erice's mother was only identified as "Nami" when introduced in Fate/Requiem volume 2. Though her true identity as Izanami could be inferred from Erice's powers, it was not confirmed. She was confirmed to be Izanami in Erice's profile in Fate/Grand Order material X.
