Jeanne d'Arc Alter (ジャンヌ・ダルク・オルタ?), Class Name Avenger (アヴェンジャー, Avenjā?), is an Avenger-class Servant summoned by Ritsuka Fujimaru in the Grand Orders of Fate/Grand Order. She is also a boss-only character under the Ruler-class during the events of the Orleans Singularity.

Profile[]

Identity[]

« If God is certain to exist, then surely divine retribution shall find me. »

(Jeanne Alter)

Also known as Jeanne Alter (ジャンヌ・オルタ, Jan'nu Oruta?), she represents the Alter counterpart of Jeanne d'Arc. However, being designated as an 'Alter' does not indicate a mere alternate aspect of Jeanne d'Arc. Instead, she represents the embodiment of vengeance attributed to Gilles de Rais, the French Army's marshal who grieved for Jeanne d'Arc's death, fabricated by means of the Holy Grail shortly after Jeanne's execution in 1431. As a Heroic Spirit and dark counterpart of the actual Jeanne, she was originally summoned by Gilles in the Ruler class, but can be later summoned by Chaldea in the Avenger class.[2]

Jeanne d'Arc's unique characteristic, being categorized as a saint, makes her distinct from a typical Heroic Spirit. The chances of summoning an alternative form of her is non-existent. However, Jeanne Alter's existence is rooted in the amalgamation of Gilles de Rais' anger, accompanied by his preconceived biases and desires, mingled with her core essence. This unusual combination results in an entirely fictionalized version of Jeanne d'Arc that was not intended to be summoned.[2]

Consequently, Jeanne Alter can be understood primarily as an embodiment of Gilles de Rais' deeply ingrained biases and sentiments, presenting a stark contrast to the traditional portrayal of Jeanne d'Arc. As a result, Jeanne Alter assumes the persona of the 'Dragon Witch', resurrected with the sole purpose of exacting vengeance against France.[3] She embodies a semblance of a holy woman who vehemently advocates justice, unwaveringly fueled by an unrelenting wrath towards society. This form aligns closely with Gilles de Rais' desired representation of Jeanne d'Arc—a manifestation that underscores his profoundly corrupted perspectives and sentiments.[2]

Appearance[]

Jeanne Alter exhibits a striking resemblance to her original counterpart, albeit with distinctive features. These include a notably pale complexion, yellow eyes, short-cut white-blond hair, and a darker color palette for her armor, flag, and cape. From stage 3 and onward, Jeanne Alter's armor becomes more revealing, and her shoes become high heels. Notably, she gains long flowing hair that reaches her ankles.

Personality[]

Jeanne Alter is characterized by a ruthlessly cruel and stern disposition. While she may retain remnants of her saintly nature, she serves as an embodiment of retribution towards humanity. She perpetually harbors distrust toward her comrades and her environment, and maintains a belief in God that lacks genuine faith.[1] She takes pleasure in denying God's existence to believers, considering it a source of entertainment, and vehemently disapproves the concept of "having faith", viewing it as malevolent.[4] Her disposition leans towards waging war alongside her companions against God, deriving pleasure from the act of slaughter to further her "cause."[1] Her being exhibits a penchant for unfettered destruction, even extending to the annihilation of humanity, as her life's purpose revolves around relentless killing until her strength is depleted.[4]

Through various circumstances, Jeanne Alter, despite her fictional nature, has been enabled to respond to summonings as a dark holy woman.[2] The specific details of her summoning remain shrouded in ambiguity. She does not exhibit immediate rebellion upon being summoned; however, her trust in the summoner, especially if human, remains consistently marred by suspicion. Additionally, under conditions of heightened tension, she may manifest fanatical laughter.[1]

Jeanne Alter displays a fundamentally embittered attitude toward her Master. However, she has been shown to have a multi-faceted personality, likely attributable to her basis, the original Jeanne d'Arc. Despite her prevailing bitterness, elements of respect and affection for her Master appear to exist at her core. Jeanne Alter lacks interests typically associated with girls; however, she shows hints of maiden-like desires. A comment from a Servant within the Avenger Class offers insights into her psyche. This comment, "To think that, in the depths of her consciousness, she wants to perform a strained avenge business while being surrounded by handsome men of her own liking!",[2] sheds light on the complex nature of Jeanne Alter's character.

Relationships[]

Jeanne d'Arc
"Fufufu, you don't have to tense up like that, worthless holy maiden. I'll ignore you and you can pretend I don't exist. That's just fine."[5]
It goes without saying that Jeanne’s a Saint. Her detestable original self. But since Jeanne Alter perceives her own existence as becoming a pest to Jeanne d’Arc, she enjoys herself in Chaldea with an air of smugness… Jeanne d’Arc never becomes aware of such a thing and she thinks Jeanne Alter’s presence is a little pleasant.[1] Jeanne Alter is just fine either way if the two mutually ignores each other.[4]
Because she hasn’t already denied Jeanne d’Arc, Jeanne Alter aims to surpass her. She will not fail in facing the truth everyday, practicing her writing as well. She is steadily going through a little bit of writing already![1]
Jeanne d'Arc (Swimsuit)
"Tsk. You're here in a swimsuit too? Whatever. We'll just ignore each other... H-hey, why are you sitting there? And why are you ordering a drink!? You're in MY room!"[5]
Artoria Pendragon Alter
Gah, the most disgusting woman in the world is here. What's with this black holy sword. Isn't that a contradiction? Haha, for something holy to be pitch black... How repulsive can you get!"[5]
Someone who is being like a fateful rival. She is herself when others are themselves. And then against Artoria Alter, who can think and come to a clear decision while being evil, Jeanne Alter becomes absurdly passive and weak.[1]
Artoria Pendragon Alter (Santa)
"Hey you. Yes, you, I'm talking to you. My Christmas present, the roulette, is broken. Exchange it for me. Cooling-off period? Huh, what? It's already over? Dont't screw with me."[5]
Artoria Pendragon Alter (Swimsuit)
"Oh, hey, a stupid maid. Be a good maid and clean my room top to bottom. Make it spotless, so much so that I could eat off the floor! Hey, wait a minute. Who said you could draw your sacred sword here!? Hey, stop. STOP!"[5]
Gilles de Rais (Caster)
"Oh, Gilles is here too. Hmph, it's disgusting with all these heroes of justice, but if you're here then there's hope yet."[5]
One person who Jeanne Alter relies on for mental support, especially when there are only allies of justice in her surroundings.[1][4] Though nowadays, she is going through just a little rebellious phase.[1]
The Servants in the Occasion of the Counterfeits' Riot
"That is a dark past! A dark past! Just make sure to absolutely not remember that, alright!?"[1]
Angra Mainyu
"That's the original Avenger? Huh, is that supposed to be a joke? Wait a second. The same class as me? No way... My senpai is too weak..."[1]
Jeanne d'Arc Alter Santa Lily
"Hm? Oh, it's just you, Santa. Why don't you be a good girl and just wait for winter? Just because your outfit looks like a swimsuit doesn't make the sun good for you. Sheesh, unbelievable."[5]
(A gesture of her removing her glasses while shivering and trembling.)[1]
Kiyohime
"Since all the good guys will say nothing, I shall say it to you! Kiyohime, you are sick. If you can't even tolerate a lie, then go be a nun or something. Fufufufufu!"[5]
Ritsuka Fujimaru
Jeanne Alter feels that her relationship with her Master is extremely annoying, and thinks that the destruction of the world is not worth worrying about. Something like an aggressive cat that neither flirts nor becomes emotionally attached to others. For now, it is probably better to start by having them fight together and see where things go.[3]

Role[]

Fate/Grand Order[]

First Singularity: Orleans[]

Jeanne Alter is created by Gilles de Rais through the power of the Holy Grail, as a version of Jeanne d'Arc twisted by his hatred for France and God. After her creation, she summons Chevalier d'Eon, Vlad III, Atalanta, Martha, and Carmilla while adding Mad Enhancement to turn them into Berserk-Servants. She orders them to destroy France, declaring their campaign will prove God’s love and existence if they are punished. Gilles then brings Pierre Cauchon before her. Jeanne Alter furiously reminds him of the ridicule she endured from him during life. She mockingly tells him to tell everyone that the “wicked Jeanne d’Arc“ is here and to roar like a brave lion. She accuses of him being a heretic for begging a witch like her to spare his life. After burning Pierre to nothing, Jeanne Alter repeats her orders to destroy France, starting with Orleans. She declares humanity has no value for failing to prove its love to God. Gilles says they need a symbol to rally under, so Jeanne Alter chooses a dragon, citing her connection to them.

Her forces then conquer Orleans, killing Charles VII in the process. During the course of her campaign, Jeanne Alter and her forces destroy many towns and kill many people. One of the most prominent is Lyon, where Jeanne Alter defeated and cursed its protector, Siegfried.

Jeanne Alter and her Servants encounter Ritsuka’s party when they arrive in the recently destroyed La Charite. She responds to Jeanne’s question about why she destroyed the town, saying she is destroying France. She asks Jeanne why she wanted to save France and its people, despite knowing they would ridicule and betray her. As Jeanne hesitates to answer, Jeanne Alter declares she will no longer be fooled or betrayed any longer. She takes her inability to hear God’s voice to mean that France is no longer blessed by Him. Thus, in accordance with His grief, Jeanne Alter will destroy France to save it. She tells Jeanne that she couldn’t understand, accusing of her being a holy virgin who pretends not to see hatred and joy and is incapable of human growth. Mocking Jeanne’s doubts about them being the same person, Jeanne Alter calls her the leftover residue she threw away. She then orders Vlad and Carmilla to kill her. Marie Antoinette soon intervenes and helps the group escape by having Mozart repel Vlad and Carmilla with Requiem for Death. Jeanne Alter orders Martha to follow and observe them. Agreeing with Vlad’s concerns, she returns to Orleans, ordering him, Carmillia, and D’Eon to continue destroying France.

Jeanne Alter summons Charles-Henri Sanson and Lancelot when she returns to Orleans. Learning of Martha’s demise, she wonders if she committed suicide, annoyed she kept her sanity despite her Mad Enhancement. She finds it more likely she fought with all her might, so they can’t let their guard down. She orders Gilles to contact Carmilla as she prepares to leave with her new Servants. Gilles tells her she is the real Jeanne when she asks who is. He reminds her of the betrayal and ridicule she suffered in life, and Jeanne Alter declares declares everything was a mistake that must be corrected. She agrees with Gilles that her vengeance is righteous, saying his words give her strength. She then orders Sanson and Lancelot to mount their wyverns and depart with her.

Jeanne Alter confronts Ritsuka’s party at the ruins of Lyon after they rescue Siegfried. She then orders her personal dragon, Fafnir, to incinerate them, but Jeanne and Mash block it with Luminosité Eternelle and Lord Chaldeas. Jeanne Alter is forced to retreat when Fafnir is struck by Balmung. Afterwards, she orders Sanson and Lancelot to kill the group, saying Carmilla will join later.

Jeanne Alter and Sanson later attack the town protected by Georgios while it’s still being evacuated. She is amused that Marie defeated Sanson. Annoyed that Jeanne already escaped with Georgios, she finds it ridiculous that gaining one Servant gave Jeanne hope. She asks Marie why she is trying to save the citizens, even though she was beheaded by her own citizens. Marie answers her death was inevitable because she was no longer needed by the people. She then asks Jeanne Alter who she is, but Jeanne Alter also tells her to shut up. Marie then activates Crystal Palace and fights Jeanne Alter, ultimately losing.

Returning to Orleans, Jeanne Alter confirms Marie has perished. Gilles reports that Sanson’s mind perished with Marie, saying he is only fit to be a foot soldier now. Jeanne Alter orders him to find Ritsuka’s party when D’Eon reports they’re heading for Orleans. Jeanne Alter orders them to prepare for battle and Gilles to gather the dragons and Servants. She declares the world will be destroyed if they win, and even if they lose, the world is already long gone. Because Chaldea and Jeanne still have faith in the world, Jeanne Alter declares she’ll destroy them, not wanting them to restore the world in accordance to her and Gilles’ wish.

She and her forces confront the group as they march towards Orleans. She tells Jeanne that they are the same, but Jeanne firmly rejects that notion. Displaying the horde of dragons with her, Jeanne Alter declares they’ll devour everything in France. Afterwards, the dragons will fight and devour each other in an endless war. General Gilles de Rais then arrives with his army and bombards the dragons with artillery. After her Servants and Fafnir are killed, Jeanne Alter is convinced by Gilles to return to the castle.

Inside the castle, Jeanne Alter orders Gilles to defend her while summons a new Servant. She agrees with his suggestion to summon King Arthur, though she doubts an English knight will answer her summons. She is surprised that Ritsuka’s party arrived faster in the throne room than expected, so she couldn’t modify the summoning. Jeanne asks her if she remembers her family, but Jeanne Alter cannot remember. Finding it doesn’t matter either way, she summons Shadow Servants to kill the group. After they’re destroyed, she fights the group personally. She is defeated, but she refuses to believe she lost because she holds the Grail. As she begins to perish, Jeanne Alter tells Gilles that she still hasn’t destroyed France. Gilles comforts her by saying he’ll destroy France in her stead. Jeanne Alter then disappears, revealing the Grail was her core.

Miss Almost Weekly Santa Alter[]

Studying how to read and write, Jeanne Alter writes a letter to Santa, playing board games with tormented spirits of Pierre Cauchon while she waits. To her displeasure however, Santa Alter arrives answering her letter. She responds to Ritsuka complimenting the Christmas decoration, saying they weren’t her doing but the spirits. She then threatens to crucify and burn Ritsuka for defeating her before, but Santa Alter defends them. Jeanne Alter reveals she learned to read and write when Santa Alter asks her about the letter. She calls her writing ugly though, despite Santa Alter’s appreciation of its readability. She then asks Santa Alter why she’s calling herself Santa, telling her to bring out the real Santa. Santa Alter answers she’s a real Santa despite not being a Saint. Jeanne Alter calls that to be some sort of elaborate prank. She suspects Santa Alter thought she was spending Christmas alone, revealing she played board games with the spirits. Santa Alter notices her cheating at a board game, and tells her she won’t make friends nor become a Servant if she doesn’t repent. Jeanne Alter says she doesn’t want to be a Servant and that she’s fine being alone. She wants to atone for her sins on her own, not wanting anyone’s help, least of all Ritsuka’s. She then fights Santa Alter with the aid of the spirits. Santa Alter defeats her, but Jeanne Alter refuses to admit defeat. She is then given her present, prompting her decision to return to purgatory so she can train to become a Servant. Before leaving though, she has the spirits come help her with her trails in purgatory.

Da Vinci and The Seven Counterfeit Heroic Spirits[]

Because her concept now exists, Jeanne Alter wasn’t truly destroyed in the Orleans Singularity. Her chances of being summoned again were infinitesimal though since those responsible for her creation, Gilles de Rais and the Holy Grail, were slain and captured. However, she was able to summon herself by inverting Jeanne d’Arc‘s wish not to have an altered version of herself. It is a rule breaking technique made only possible thanks to Jeanne’s popularity as a Heroic Spirit. Dissatisfied at being a counterfeit, Jeanne Alter sought to surpass her original self. Using the Louvre as a base and wanting revenge for Orleans, she creates counterfeit versions of Alexander, Hector, Siegfried, Arash, Arjuna, Gilles de Rais, Brynhildr to surpass their originals. She also gave each of them a specific backstories centered around her out of an inherent desire to be the protagonist.

Eventually Ritsuka’s party locate Jeanne Alter to stop her counterfeiting. They see her being uncomfortably embraced by the counterfeit Brynhildr. Jeanne Alter commends them for locating her, surmising they followed the traces left by the counterfeits. She kicks Brynhildr away, only for her to crawl back. She explains Brynhildr's behavior inadvertently resulted from her wish for one of her seven followers to be a woman. Asking the group to ignore Brynhildr, she reveals the circumstances of her return. She accepts herself as a counterfeit of the original Jeanne, but still wants to surpass as Leonardo da Vinci rightfully speculated it. Even though she is a counterfeit, Jeanne Alter says there are no rules saying she can’t make a name for herself in the world. She continues further that people imagine Jeanne’s death would warrant her vengeance, declaring herself to be an aspect of Jeanne. Therefore, since she was born from hatred and murderous intent, Jeanne Alter is an Anti-Hero and an Avenger class Servant. She then orders Brynhildr to attack the group. She denies EMIYA’s deduction that most of her counterfeit Servants were men out of an unconscious desire to be the protagonist by pointing out Brynhildr. Mash suspects she wanted a female friend, but Jeanne Alter denies it. She claims the counterfeit Servants were merely expendable pawns, then fights the group with Brynhildr.

After Brynhildr is defeated, Jeanne Alter blames herself for being unable to summon Brynhildr in proper form. She assumes Brynhildr will blame her before she disappears, like she thought the others did. However, Brynhildr says she and the other counterfeits enjoyed their time with her before disappearing. Jeanne Alter claims the counterfeits were created for her amusement, but Da Vinci chides her for not realizing her true feelings. She explains the counterfeits already surpassed their originals and were sincerely enjoying themselves despite being fake. The counterfeits had genuine care and concern for Jeanne Alter. This confuses Jeanne Alter as she cannot understand why anyone would care for a vengeful girl like her. Da Vinci tells her to embrace her desire for vengeance and her role as Anti-Hero to become a complete Servant. Ritsuka accepts her, but Jeanne Alter hesitates at the notion of being summoned by them. After a long bout of consideration, she accepts her inferiority complex to Jeanne and her desire to be wanted. She accepts her hatred will never cease and she will always be an Avenger no matter how many lives she saves. Yet despite all that, she says she will respond to Ritsuka’s summons. However, she fights the group out of revenge for them defeating her counterfeits.

Amused by the fight, Jeanne Alter reveals her future self will form a bond with Ritsuka while her current self will disappear. She assumes her future self won’t have memories of being a counterfeit Heroic Spirit, so the current her wanted to create at least one memory. She tells Ritsuka to take responsibility for her future self, and bids them farewell before disappearing.

Final Singularity: Solomon[]

Jeanne Alter is among the "special event" Servants assisting Chaldea against the Demon Gods Pillars.[6]

Subspecies Singularity I: Shinjuku[]

Jeanne Alter establishes her own territory in Shinjuku following her summoning after forming a truce with Artoria Alter to leave each other alone. At some point, she grievously wounded by Baal in the guise of James Moriarty, forcing her to retreat in the sewers. She later tries to incinerate the real Moriarty when he snuck into her territory.

Later, she is attacked by EMIYA Alter under orders from Baal. She tries to destroy him with La Grondement Du Haine, but he blocked it with a shield and escaped. Having overexerted herself with that attack, she collapses and waits to disappear. Fortunately, Ritsuka’s party arrives to save her. After swapping insults with Artoria Alter, Jeanne Alter asks her why she came since they had truce to leave each other alone. Artoria Alter answers that is no longer the case, boasting she has a Master now to Jeanne Alter’s disbelief. Jeanne Alter assumes her Master is utterly incompetent until Ritsuka introduce themselves as said Master. Monsters attracted by the scent of her Noble Phantasm then arrive.

After the battle, Jeanne Alter learns to her disappointment that Mash isn’t fighting as a Servant because of certain circumstances. She recalls Mash refusing to let go of her shield while holding back tears from fear, which makes her a better human than herself. Artoria Alter accuses her of trying to poach Mash, claiming Mash is her knight since Galahad is possessing her. Jeanne Alter counters, though, that Mash isn’t Galahad. She then tries to incinerate Moriarty, assuming he was one who wounded her so grievously. She stops though since Ritsuka trusts Moriarty saying that was another him. While she can’t trust him, she allows Moriarty to accompany them since he saved Ritsuka.

Artoria Alter doesn’t approve of Jeanne Alter joining, prompting an argument between the Alters. Then, Noticing Artoria Alter’s clothes, Jeanne Alter searches the ruins of a nearby boutique under the pretense of that it’s suspicious. She returns and surrounds the others and Hessian Lobo with her Noble Phantasm’s flames on Moriarty’s signal to prevent Hessian Lobo’s escape. However, the group is unable to kill him and he escapes. The Alters realize Moriarty intends to target Phantom of the Opera and Christine Daaé next. They then fight until Moriarty convinces to delay it until Phantom and Christine are dead.

At Artoria Alter’s hideout, Jeanne Alter waits for Ritsuka’s opinion on her new outfit, though she’s disappointed by the response. After a phone call from Edmond Dantès, the group learns the other Moriarty is the leader of their enemy, the Phantom Demon Alliance. This further exacerbates the Alters’ distrust towards their own Moriarty. In response, Moriarty says they should defeat Phantom so he can gain their trust. He warns though they would be killed if they were to attack Phantom directly, as the 200 Coloraturas stationed in Kabukicho would severely outnumber them. The three recall destroying a few Coloraturas before, but Moriarty reveals they replenish their numbers with 36 hours. He explains the Coloraturas assigned to patrol Kabukicho also regularly abduct people. He then asks others to bring him a Coloratura, which he’ll use to observe Kabukicho.

Leaving the hideout, Jeanne Alter states if Moriarty were to betray them, it would be at a crucial moment. The group then notice Coloratura kidnapping people, so they go in to capture one. After capturing a Coloratura and helping the people escape, the group return to the hideout.

There it is revealed the Coloraturas are constructed from humans, with their flesh and nerves being placed into the dolls. Moriarty reveals he rigged the Coloratura with a bomb. Said Coloratura will be placed back with the others when they return to Kabukicho at their regular intervals, and then its bomb will triggered. The explosion will cause confusion among the Coloraturas, which the group will use as an opportunity to kill Phantom and Christine. Jeanne Alter agrees with the plan, as the Colortura is no longer truly human. She even finds them worse than evil spirits since they those at least have vestiges of their original personalities. After Moriarty finishes rigging the Coloratura, and gives the detonator to Ritsuka, the group head for Kabukicho.

Placing the rigged Coloratura with the others, Moriarty orders the Alters to take their positions. Ten minutes later, the bomb is detonated by Moriarty instead of Ritsuka after seeing their determination to do so. The resulting explosion scatters the Coloraturas, so the Alters move in to destroy them. Mash later calls them to help Ritsuka and Moriarty against EMIYA Alter, but they’re busy dealing with the still active Coloraturas. They arrive just when EMIYA Alter retreats thanks to Hassan of the Cursed Arm’s intervention, disappointed their attacks barely missed. Joined by Cursed Arm, the group escape Kabukicho and return to the hideout.

Back at the hideout, the group relaxes. Curse Arm soon reveals himself to be Yan Qing, an Alliance member, in disguise. He takes Ritsuka hostage, but the Alters arrive to stop him. He dodges their attacks and makes his escape as Artoria Alter chases him on her motorcycle, with Jeanne Alter following. Unfortunately, they’re unable able to rescue thanks to being delayed by the Hornet soldiers and King Lear called by Yan Qing. The Alters Alter later beat Moriarty for letting Ritsuka get kidnapped.

Fortunately, Sherlock Holmes rescues Ritsuka from the Alliance’ base of Barrel Tower. The Alters imm immediately express their concern and relief upon Ritsuka’s return. Returning to the hideout, they learn Moriarty’s True Name, which further increases their distrust of him.Sherlock then explains how the Alliance’s goal of destroying the planet is possible without utilizing outside forces by doing what Thomas Edison and the Lion King tried to do. Da Vinci realizes and reveals that Shinjuku is in a culled timeline. Despite being told it’ll have no adverse effect on history, Ritsuka decides to save Shinjuku, regardless. Sherlock reveals the evil Moriarty plans to use the powers of the Phantom he’s fused with, the Freeshooter, to load a meteorite into Barrel Tower, then fire it into the planet’s core as a magic bullet to destroy the planet. Ironically, Jeanne Alter finds the Alliance’s plan to destroy the planet even worse than when she tried to destroy France. She and Artoria Alter agree with Sherlock’s decision to eliminate Yan Qing. The group then leaves to steal clothes for Sherlock and Moriarty’s plan. Afterwards, they change their clothes.

Ritsuka and the Alters enter a party hosted by Yan Qing. The Alters delight in seeing Ritsuka being clearly uncomfortable with their disguise. Taking a camera phone from a passerby, Artoria Alter takes pictures of Ritsuka and uploads them to Chaldea’s server while Jeanne Alter holds Ritsuka. Afterwards, Jeanne Alter wonders when Yan Qing is going to appear, expressing hatred for her dress. A party guest tries to ask her for a dance, but her scowl drives him away. Now having lost her patience, she wants to burn the entire building down. Yan Qing then appears before the guests disguised as Artoria Alter. He eventually takes notices of Artoria Alter, and orders the Hornets to attack. Joined by Moriarty, the group defeat the Hornets, followed by Romeo and Juliet. More Hornets appear, with Yan Qing being disguised as one of them. Ritsuka removes their disguise to shock him into revealing himself as part of Moriarty’s plan. Yan Qing reveals his True Name and fights the group. Sensing that he’s going to lose, Yan Qing activates a bomb under the building to collapse it, prompting the group to escape. After Moriarty kills Yan Qing, the group prepares to leave when they’re found by Hessian Lobo.

Confronted by Hessian Lob, the group sees he’s been fused with the Invisible Man. His Class then changes from Rider to Avenger and instantly targets Ritsuka as they’re the only human around. Unable to defeat him, the group decides who’ll stay behind to hold Hessian Lobo while the rest escape. Jeanne Alter takes the task upon herself, so the others can escape. She tells them to use that time to find a way to defeat Hessian Lobo permanently. She rejects Artoria Alter’s suggestion of choosing someone among their group fairly. Denying Sherlock’s assumption her decision to hold off Hessian Lobo is out of sympathy for a fellow Avenger, Jeanne Alter explains she simply hates seeing Hessian Lobo running around like a mindless beast. She believes he should at least have a goal, so she’ll give him one. Before the others leave, Sherlock tells her to watch her feet, and Artoria Alter wishes her luck.

As she fights Hessian Lobo, Jeanne Alter tells him that their hatred will never disappear, regardless of how many people they kill until the day they die. She declares she will put Hessian Lobo out of his misery, calling the fleeting dreams they see before death the only solace for Avengers. Eventually though, Hessian Lobo fatally wounds her. She is annoyed he isn’t enjoying his revenge, but realizes he can’t anymore. After suffering another wound, she unleashes her Noble Phantasm to hold him off. Unfortunately, she finally falls after Hessian Lobo wounds yet again. Contemplating her nature as a fake, unable to understand the pain of being burned alive, Jeanne Alter calls Jeanne an idiot for not wanting revenge after being burned at the stake. She calls the world irredeemably dark, claiming the most any so-called good person can do is to turn a blind eye. She recalls how she used to think she would never help good natured humans like Jeanne, finding them to be pathetic and helpless. After calling Jeanne a symbol of humanity, she calls Ritsuka an inconsiderate jerk for not asking her to dance. She then recalls Sherlock’s advice before falling into unconsciousness.

Following Sherlock’s advice, Jeanne Alter escapes through a manhole at the last moment to survive. She meets with Edmond, and together they rescue William Shakespeare from his confinement in the Barrel Tower. They then both try to attack Moriarty, who’s been revealed as the true mastermind to destroy the planet, but he dodges both of them. Jeanne Alter explains how she survived and shows she brought Shakespeare to help. Shakespeare and Hans Christian Andersen then summon the Great Detectives to aid Ritsuka. Moriarty uses the Grail to empower himself, and the group fight him with three minutes before Bennu arrives. Struggling against the group, Moriarty uses the Grail on himself once again. However, the detectives use this opportunity to grant Ritsuka their power. Ritsuka uses it to unveil Moriarty as the culprit which results in his strength being sapped. Afterwards, EMIYA Alter and Artoria Alter destroy Bennu.

After Moriarty and the writers disappear, Jeanne Alter asks EMIYA Alter what happened to Artoria Alter, wondering if she got crushed by Bennu. EMIYA Alter replies she went to visit somewhere before she disappears, which Ritsuka and Jeanne Alter realize is Cavall II. After EMIYA Alter disappears, Jeanne Alter suddenly cuts communications with Chaldea off. She then puts on her party dress and dances with Ritsuka, which leaves her satisfied. She tells Ritsuka she’ll practice more for the next time, expecting them to do the same, and disappears.

Summer Event: Servant Summer Festival![]

Ritsuka’s party is given the mission of investigate the Foreigner SHEBA detected in Hawaii. But since it isn’t a Singularity, they can’t rayshift and they can’t use Chaldea’s own transport as that would get the organization in trouble with the Mage’s Association. Therefore, they will have to fly commercially. But Jeanne Alter refuses to go in spirit form, insisting that everyone will ride as regular passengers. Da Vinci eventually concedes, saying she'll think of a way to conceal the Servants' outfits. She warns them, however, to behave themselves during the flight, or she will immediately hypnotize everyone on the plane, force them into the spirit forms, and make it impossible to turn back until they reach Hawaii. After everyone agrees to behave, Ritsuka’s party board their flight.

They eventually arrive at their destination. Jeanne Alter surprises the others by getting off the plane wearing a swimsuit. She reminds them, however, that they’re still on a mission and advises getting in touch with Chaldea’s Hawaiian branch and assess the situation ASAP. The situation turns strange though when Ritsuka’s party is met by BB, who proceeds to turn Hawaii into a Singularity, combining the islands into one she dubs the Luluhawa Singularity.

After killing a large and monstrous chicken, the group meet Blackbeard. He explains he is in Hawaii for ServantFes, a regular get-together for Chaldean and non-Chaldean Servants, which officially starts in six days. He also tells them that the Servants have agreed that there will be no “real combat” until ServantFes is over, despite the potential danger of a Foreigner being present. BB is this year’s manager of ServantFes and she admits she turned Hawaii into a Singulaitry so the convention can be bigger than ever and the Servants can cut loose without worrying about the Concealment of Mysteries. Once ServantFes is over, the Singularity will be dissolved and the islands will return to normal. She then shocks Ritsuka’s party by saying the most popular doujin club will be rewarded with a Holy Grail. Jeanne Alter is initially uninterested until she hears Jeanne’s club was the winner of last year’s ServantFes. Without the others’ consent, she forms the group into their own club, calling it Gespenst Ketzer. After BB registers their club, Blackbeard asks Jeanne Alter if she’s had any experience making doujins. Jeanne Alter answers she doesn’t, yet despite being a newbie, she is confident she will draw the best doujin ever. Blackbeard decides to provide the group with tips, but only if they defeat him first. After they do so, he directs them to the Shelton hotel where he reserved a suite.

Arriving at the Shelton, the group gets their room keys and meets Marie. She and Jeanne are also staying at the hotel, working on their latest doujin for ServantFes. Correctly suspecting Jeanne Alter is here for the ServantFes, she suggests giving each other a copy of their books once they’re done. Jeanne Alter agrees, boasting that Jeanne won’t know what hit her. However, after getting into their room. Ritsuka’s party see a mysterious object crash-land. Realizing it’s the Foreigner, they head for Waikiki Street.

There they see BB trying to fight the Foreigner, but she can’t defeat her since she is using all her powers keeping the tourists safe. The group takes over for her and force the Foreigner to retreat. She flies away, promising to destroy ServantFes. After BB leaves, Jeanne Alter worries that the Foreigner investigation will take focus off making doujin. She gets mad at Robin Hood for thinking they can win ServantFes with a photo album. But Robin reminds her that he is their club’s manager and advises they hone their skills and find inspiration in Luluhawa, all the while continuing their investigation. Jeanne Alter consents that they know nothing about making doujin. She says they’ll purchase art supplies once they have the money to, then go look for stuff they want to draw. She reminds Ritsuka that their club’s success is up to them, adding that it’s their job to train them and to ensure they don’t waste a single day.

Jeanne Alter goes for a walk during the night, hoping to take a good photo for reference material. However, the streets were so crowded that she couldn’t, even after midnight. Joining the others for breakfast the next morning, she agrees that it’s fine to relax during the day, but she wants all them to meet back at the hotel at night. She has a lot of research to do and she wants the others to take plenty of photos. She later tries to set up a appointment with the printer like Elizabeth Bathory advised but the owner was absent.

She meets up with the others that evening and tells them what happened. Ushiwakamaru sees a portly man in aloha shirt and wonders if he’s the owner of the printer. It quickly becomes apparent, though, that he is not. Everyone then returns to the hotel for dinner and to discuss story ideas. Jeanne Alter does not go with the others to the beach the next afternoon, saying she had a bad feeling about it, and went to the aquarium instead.

Later at night, the group continue working on their doujin in their hotel room. Robin finds Jeanne Alter’s drawings surprisingly readable, feeling as if she was already a fan of manga. Jeanne Alter confesses she’s been a fan for a while, adding that they were helpful for learning to read and write. It was only recently she started trying to understand how they work. It soon starts getting late, so Jeanne Alter sends Ritsuka and Mash out to have dinner together.

The next night, the group gets ready to go to a japanese restaurant for which they have a reservation at 7. Jeanne Alter is surprised it’s dinnertime already and says she isn’t halfway done. But she agrees with Robin to take a break, especially since she's been redrawing the same spread for the last hour. She then joins the others on a stroll, during which they meet Blackbeard again. He tries to con them out of 150 Gil Bucks after taking group photo with them, but gives up and apologizes when Jeanne Alter draws one of her katanas. He is then suddenly blasted to the beach by the Foreigner, who is at the intersection about a hundred meters away.

Ritsuka’s party confront her, and she attacks them in a rage upon hearing BB call her an evil Foreigner. Thanks to her armor, she is unfazed by their attacks and she introduces herself as Foreigner Hunter XX. In response, BB installs Pele’s Divine Core and helps Ritsuka’s party force XX into retreating. Afterward, she explains she met Pele a month ago and copied her Divine Core. It was through Pele’s Authority that she made Luluhawa. She then leaves to repair some buildings, reminding the group that there’s only two days left until ServantFes. The group has dinner before returning to the hotel.

With six hours before ServantFes begins, Ritsuka’s party has only completed half of their doujin. As their manager, Robin advises sending what they have done to the printer and using the photocopies since they won’t finish in time. Jeanne Alter reluctantly agrees, admitting that it’s better than sending an unfinished draft to the printer. She asks Robin if he isn’t afraid of being turned into a pig because of BB’s spell that will activate if they lose. Robin isn’t afraid, believing photocopies will be good enough. However, even though they’re switching to photocopies, the group still need to turn them into book, which will take about three hours. They, therefore, decide to continue working until daybreak. Jeanne Alter gives RItsuka the last page and tells them to put a message that will let the readers know the story will continue. She disagrees with them putting “Our battle has only just begun!' because it sounds like the story won’t continue.

Ritsuka’s party arrives at the convention center an hour before ServantFes starts, having managed to make fifty photocopies. Asked by Mash if she’s fine with giving them away, Jeanne answers she only wanted to beat '“her” book, but their book didn’t turn out that way. Instead, it was something they made just because it was fun, so she doesn’t mind giving it away, having gotten what she wanted from it. XX then suddenly attacks the convention centers five minutes before the convention starts. Ritsuka’s party fights her aided by Leonidas. Getting tired and hungry, XX decides to destroy the convention center by detonating her armor. Hassan of the Cursed Arm then arrives, having heard the commotion. After learning XX is going to self-destruct, he immediately takes her a safe distance away from the center. He survives the explosion, though, thanks to his Protect against Wind Skill. With one minute until opening, everyone gets ready.

ServantFes soon concludes. Jeanne Alter notes how people seemed to like their book, though there is still a copy left. But with the Foreigner defeated and ServantFes over, she expects the Singularity will dissolve soon enough and they’ll all return home tomorrow.

The next morning, however, the group finds themselves at the airport, not the hotel. BB has sent them back to their first day, and she now wants them to become of the best seller of their own complete professionally printed book. She has changed the rules because she disliked the idea of Medb, who was the best seller, using the Grail for selfish reasons. Jeanne Alter doesn’t believe her claims that she wants the Grail to be used for good and demands to know the real reason. BB reveals XX was the one that defeated Pele and made her lose her power. Taking the practically dead goddess into herself, BB devised a plan to forge a Grail forged from the passion of ServantFes attendees and have a good-hearted person use it to wish for peace for Hawaii, thus restoring Pele. She wanted Ritsuka to be that person, but everyone neglected their bookmaking duties, so Medb became the best seller. She then tells the group to use the Grail at Kilauea once they win it and wish for world peace. The energy of said wish would then restore Hawaii’s leyline and Pele both. She then leaves, saying she'll await the group at the Mauna Kea Observatories on the seventh night.

After BB leaves, the group notices Ibaraki-douji isn’t with them, even though they were sent back to the first day. Ushiwakamaru suspects it’s because she wasn’t part of their club. Regardless, Jeanne Alter sees the time loop as an opportunity for them to make the best doujin ever. She then gets Blackbeard to give them his hotel suite and asks why he chose the Shelton. Blackbeard tells the group to visit their neighbor after they check in, suspecting that Osakabehime will be a big help to them.

Immediately after checking into their room, Rituska’s party goes to Osakabehime’s room and asks for her help. Jeanne Alter admits she wants to make a book that’s superior to the one that inspired, especially after learning that Jeanne made it. Seeing that Jeanne Alter is dedicated, Osakabehime agrees to let her borrow her art tools and to teach her the basics. Then, after telling Jeanne Alter that amateurs like themselves only have their passion, she moves her things into the group’s room. It soon becomes time for XX’s first attack, so the group go drive her away.

That night, Jeanne Alter has determined the direction of their story. Robin bursts into the room and informs everyone that Ibaraki is on a rampage. Confronting her with the others outside, Jeanne Alter realizes that Ibaraki only wants attention. Ibaraki denies it, saying she is only acting like a oni should. Ritsuka’s party then fights her, but she soon runs away.

The next morning, Jeanne Alter decides they should take a break now that their doujin is halfway done. Her mood is ruined, however, when she hears Jeanne’s voice. She refuses Jeanne’s request to hang out, saying that they’re too busy making a doujin that will surpass hers. Joining the others for breakfast, Jeanne tells them about the other doujin clubs. She then asks Jeanne Alter to save her a copy of her book, which Jeanne Alter agrees to.

That evening, Ritsuka’s party heads for the printer when Jeanne Alter remembers they couldn’t find the owner last time. Deciding to ask the other Servants, they soon run into Astolfo and ask him. He doesn’t know, but he recalls a big-shot that is likely a company owner. He says he is at the hotel during this time and the hotel’s owner.

Returning to the hotel, Jeanne Alter immediately asks the manager, Henry Jekyll, if the owner is in. He tells her that the owner is at the beach, so the group immediately rushes over there. The owner turns out to be Gilgamesh, though he lost his memory because of reasons and now calls himself Gorgeous P. Jeanne Alter asks if he owns the printer. Queen of Sheba confirms he does and says their company offers printing five minutes before the convention starts and even after it has already started. They do so by sending the printer into Imaginary Number Space, inverting cause and effect so printing is finished when a customer finishes their final draft. But Gilgamesh wants the group to show their resolve in battle to see if it’s worth printing their work. He sees they are determined and permits them the usage of his printer.

The next morning, Jeanne Alter struggles to put her ideas to paper and allows the others to take a break. She wants them to take pictures of girls in swimsuits, though, but not Jeanne, since they have the same build. Mash asks her what girl does she want a picture of, to which Jeanne Alter gives a description that matches Medb. After the others leave, Jeanne Alter isn’t sure if the story is fun to read or not. She wonders what the difference between hers and Jeanne’s. Wondering what Jeanne is up to, she decides to ask Ritsuka when they return.

Later that night, Jeanne Alter takes a break and asks Ritsuka to join her on the beach. There she admits she is having trouble on how to progress the story. She worries it will drag on if they use their current drafts. But she also worries cutting scenes to speed the pacing will make later developments feel contrived. Ritsuka asks if she could cut stuff from the first half, but Jeanne Alter refuses since those scenes are for world-building. But she admits feeling embarrassed about them and realizes the readers will not care about world-building. She sticks to it though after Ritsuka gives their approval. She and Ritsuka then hear a dolphin call and follow it to its source, where they find Jeanne. After slaying coconut crabs together, Jeanne Alter asks Jeanne how her book is coming. Jeanne answers she already has all the dolphin reference material she needs, thanks to her familiar, Reece. She then explains her story is summer, the sea, and dolphin. Jeanne Alter is surprised she isn’t following up on the witch, princess, and monster story. She and Ritsuka then return to the hotel to continue working.

The next day, Jeanne Alter sends the others out to pick a fight and get her combat reference material. Later, she sends Mash out to take photos for her, providing her a list of primary subjects she wants. With Ushiwakamaru helping Mash and Robin checking in on the other clubs, Jeanne Alter is left alone with a sleeping Ritsuka. She finds it weird that they chose to stay and help her instead of enjoying their vacation. Returning to her drawings, she realizes the panels don’t flow too naturally and makes a new layout. She then tries to wake up Ritsuka, but in her struggle to do so, she is caught in an embarrassing situation by Osakabehime, Nitocris, and Scheherazade. After Ritsuka wakes up, Osakabehime asks Jeanne Alter if her club is willing to share their convention space with Abigail Williams’ club, whose spot was stolen from them. Jeanne Alter allows it, then answers a call from Jekyll. He requests for her to drive Medb, who’s claimed the beach as her own and wants Ritsuka for herself, away. Jeanne Alter accepts and heads to the beach with Ritsuka and Osakabehime. Together they stop Medb's bodyguards from poaching Ritsuka for her club for their supposed photography skills.

That night, Ritsuka’s party is nearly finished with their doujin. They try to continue working when they get a call from Jekyll, who asks them to drive XX away from Main Street. The group drives her away, followed by destroying a replica of Twrch Trwyth. BB reminds them they have two days left and leaves to repair the buildings. The group then return to the hotel.

The next day, Jeanne Alter takes a break from drawing and allows the others to go out while she sleeps. She is still sleeping when they return, but Jeanne wakes her up with Reece. Later that night, the group finish their doujin. Ritsuka, Jeanne Alter, Robin, and Mash then get the final draft to the printer.

The day of ServantFes; Jeanne Alter has the others handle sales while she gathers reference materials. After the convention comes to a close, she expects Jeanne's club made the most sales again. But Jeanne says they didn’t, which surprises Jeanne Alter since she thought the latter's dolphin story was disgustingly good. Medb is the winner, so the group will have to go through another loop.

On the night of another loop, after making progress on their doujin, Jeanne Alter decides she wants Ritsuka to walk with her to Mauna Kea. But understanding their legs may give out, she asks Sakata Kintoki to give them a ride when Mash and Ushiwakamaru join them. However, he can only get them halfway up the mountain as that it is where the road ends, which disappoints Jeanne Alter since she wanted to see the observatories. She then gives some trivia about Mauna Kea in response Kintoki noting how desolate it is compared to the rest of Luluhawa.

The next day, Jeanne Alter, understanding they all have their suspicions about BB, decides they should ask the other Servants to determine if BB is telling the truth or not while continuing to work on their doujin. Later that night, the group make tremendous progress on the story, even though it’s only the third day. Jeanne Alter thinks could still be improved, so Robin suggests recruiting more assistants.

Morning, Ritsuka and Jeanne Alter prepare to go take pictures at Diamond Head when Jeanne decides to join them. At breakfast, Jeanne Alter interrupts Jeanne’s attempt to explain what her story is about, knowing it’s about dolphins and that it’s 80% done. After confirming her story is halfway done, she asks Jeanne why she started drawing manga. Jeanne answers that Marie asked her to make a manga while she was contemplating what she’d do if she wasn’t a Heroic Spirit, finding enjoyment in making stories. She then asks Jeanne Alter the same question she asked her. Jeanne Alter answers she wanted to surpass Jeanne’s story about the princess and the monster. But Jeanne doesn’t know what she’s talking about it, even after Jeanne Alter explains what the story is. Jeanne Alter tries to give Jeanne a copy when she requests one, but finds she doesn’t have it. Recalling she hid it so one could read it and say it’s better than hers, she wonders if it disappeared with the time loop. Ritsuka then asks Jeanne if she noticed something about BB. Jeanne answers that she felt something fundamentally different from everyone else and remembers Edmond also asked the same. She says he is usually at the beach at night and that children adore him. She, Ritsuka, and Jeanne Alter then go swimming together.

That night, Ritsuka’s party follows the sound of Edmond’s laughter and finds him fighting Ibaraki. After they help him drive her away, he correctly presumes they want to ask him about BB and reveals he knows about the time loop. After hearing what BB’s supposed goal is, he suspects she sicced Ibaraki on him. He then asks Robin to lend him his cloak so he may follow BB, knowing Robin can’t do it. After he gets it, he leaves to investigate Luluhawa.

The next night, Jeanne Alter tells Osakabehime why she wanted to draw doujin. But Jeanne again insists she never drew such a story. Even Jeanne Alter can’t remember the story clearly. She later admits to herself that her trying to surpass the princess and monster story is the first spark she’s felt for something besides revenge. She then takes Ritsuka and Osakabehime to blow off some steam.

With one day left before ServantFes, Ritsuka’s party prepares to sabotage Medb’s popularity so she doesn’t make the most sales per El-Melloi II’s plan. Yan Qing, having disguised himself as Medb, changed the queen’s contest from a beauty contest to a beach volleyball match. Medb soon arrives, annoyed that Moriarty bribed her sponsors, and summons Cú Chulainn, who was handcrafting elsewhere, for the volleyball match. She loses and leaves after Cú Chulainn does. Ritsuka’s party believe the loss greatly reduced her popularity, so now it’s all up to their doujin to win ServantFes

XX attacks the convention center five minutes before the convention starts. With the help of Ibaraki, Ritsuka’s party defeat her and break off her armor. To their shock (expect Ibaraki who’s oblivious), she looks like Mysterious Heroine X. Refusing to say anything beyond saying her targets are other Foreigners, XX, calling herself Heroine XX, redons her armor and flies off. Ritsuka’s party still didn’t become the best seller so they go through another loop.

Ritsuka’s party repeats what they did on the first day of the second loop, but this time they have Ibaraki to help. They rush to Waikiki Street, intending to speak with XX before BB shows up, and end up saving Oei. XX confesses her primary order is to eliminate the Foreigners, followed by ServantFes and the Singularity. The group defeat her in battle and she reveals she is also caught in the time loop. But she refuses to talk with them further, believing they’re on BB’s side, and leaves. BB then arrives, surprise to see XX gone and Oei still alive. She tries to ask the group for a favor, but they rush back to the hotel when Mash gets a message saying the final draft is in trouble.

Getting back to their room, they find Edmond there and he confesses he sent the message as a way of warning them without alerting BB. He tells them that XX is the key to unraveling the Singularity’s mysteries, so they must bargain with her and get her on their side. The group goes out and convinces Oda Nobunaga to talk with XX when she next attacks.

Later, they help Oei and Abigail fight Medb off so their club space isn’t stolen by her if they lost. Afterward, Jeanne Alter asks Oei to give her art lessons. Oei, wishing to repay the group, agrees to teach Jeanne Alter.

Afterward, Ritsuka’s party waits with Nobunaga for XX to arrive so they can negotiate with her. XX soon arrives, and she lets slip that her hideout is in Kileau, making Jeanne Alter wonder if she took it after defeating Pele. XX takes a combat stance, so Nobunaga tries to talking to her. But she ends up angering her by saying she’s upset that she doesn’t have a swimsuit and by calling her armor cosplay. XX fully removes her armor and reveals she’s been wearing swimsuit the whole time. In her tirade about having to work while everyone else is on vacation, she lets slip that she was sent to Hawaii in response to an No. 3 Outer God reading. Ritsuka’s party then defeats her and she leaves warning that she will use her Anti-Planet Noble Phantasm to destroy Luluhawa on the morning of the seventh day. After she’s gone, Nobunaga suggests getting XX getting a new job.

That night, joined by Nobunaga and Edmond, the group find XX camped out at Kileau. XX tries to kill them for seeing her living in far less than ideal conditions. Soon she removes a set of her armor and begins charging her Noble Phantasm. But right before she launches it, Nobunaga tells her she’s hired and says they’re trying to poach. She then has Ritsuka hand XX their working conditions agreement, knowing that she hates her current job. XX finds the conditions very agreeable and “accidentally” destroys the antenna she uses to communicate with Galatic Police HQ. Glad to be part of Chaldea now, she leaves to enjoy her paid vacation, saying she’ll answer questions tomorrow. After she’s gone, Jeanne Alter asks Edmond to check on Kileau regularly.

At dawn, Jeanne Alter wonders if her drawing skills are out of reach because she is chasing after something. Jeanne tells her everybody wishes for something, but only a select few can succeed at doing. Imagination may be limitless, but the act of creation is not. It is the same for her, believing no creator is truly satisfied by their work. Jeanne Alter then tells Jeanne her idea for a story. Jeanne smiles and says it’s a good idea. But feeling something is lacking, Jeanne Alter remembers she already has someone close to her to discuss story idea and share the thrill in coming up with a good one.

Returning to the hotel, she asks Ritsuka they know about the doujin she’s drawing now. She agrees with their critique of the ending, admitting that the monster turning back into a human doesn’t feel earned. She then asks Ritsuka if the princess and the monster could understand each other if stay who they are. After hearing their thoughts, she wonders about adding a new action scene to fit in with the new ending, but worries they won’t finish in time. Frustrated, she takes Ritsuka with her to pick a fight.

After failing to pick a fight with Mordred, Ritsuka and Jeanne Alter leave the hotel and run into Jeanne, Osakabehime, and Oei. But hearing that they’re all done with final drafts only serves to frustrate Jeanne Alter even further. Osakabehime calls her crazy for wanting to start over, saying that missing a deadline is worse than releasing something you’re not satisfied with. Oei tells her to accept what she has drawn and put it together the best she can. Then asked by Jeanne, Jeanne Alter admits she came outside looking for a fight to relieve stress. Jeanne helps her do so, having Oei and Osakabehime join as well. Afterward, Jeanne Alter finds it strange Jeanne left with the other two saying they need to change their schedules. She is also confused when Ritsuka says they need to get things ready.

That night, Jeanne Alter watches in confusion as Ritsuka messes with the panel layout and sets up multiple tablets. Jeanne, Osakabehime, and Oei then enter, having been invited by Ritsuka to help Jeanne Alter complete her story in time. As they work on the story, the Jeannes argue about the princess’ love resurrecting the monster, with Jeanne believing it should be more encompassing. However, she withdraws her objection after Jeanne Alter says the monster wouldn’t be happy with such a form of love and describes the princess’ love as possessive. Later, Jeanne Alter is wowed by the background that Oei drew. Oei insists she couldn’t have done it without Jeanne Alter’s vivid description of the battlefield. Robin then offers energy drinks said to replenish Servants’ magical energy. Jeanne Alter takes a swig of one, but it’s so disgusting that she has to barf over the balcony. Mordred comes in and demands to know who barfed on a customer. Jeanne Alter puts the blame on Ritsuka. In response, Mordred has Ritsuka apologize to Lu Bu, who accepts their apology according to Frankenstein’s interpretation. Unfortunately, a fight ensues when Lu Bu realizes Jeanne Alter is the culprit. Afterward, Lu Bu and Frankenstein leave. Jeanne Alter apologizes to Ritsuka, saying she’ll treat them to EMIYA or Boudica’s cooking later. Everyone then gets back in the room to continue working.

Unfortunately, with the end so close, Oei accidentally deletes all the data. Jeanne Alter tells Osakabehime to recover what she can and confirms with Robin that he’s been making backups every 15 minutes. Everyone then crunches until morning and successfully completes the story. Robin copied it to multiple USBs and tells everyone to take one. Ritsuka’s party then rushes over to the printer but finds Gilgamesh isn’t there. They hear he’s already at the convention center, so they try to head when Medb’s men show up. Fortunately, Edmond arrives to hold off the Celtic soldiers. He also arranged for Astolfo and Kintoki to give the group a ride to the convention center. The group split up, with Ushiwakmaru on Kintoki’s bike and Ritsuka and Jeanne Alter on Astolfo’s Hippogriff. They’re shot out of the air, however, by Medb’s chariot. While Astolfo, Ibaraki, and Cú Chulainn hold it off, Ritsuka and Jeanne Alter rush for the convention center.

They make it and Jeanne Alter gives her USB to Sheba, though the latter isn’t sure they’ll sell the number of copies Jeanne Alter wants printed. Gilgamesh wishes to see if the group’s story is worth printing so many copies for, so Sheba prints out a test copy for him to read. He, she, and D’Eon then read the story together. It moves him so much that he recovers his memories and remembers someone hit him on the head with a plastic hammer when he first arrived in Hawaii, causing his amnesia. He finishes the story and decides to have it printed, ordering all printers to run at full capacity.

ServantFes starts and Ritsuka’s party ends up being the best seller. Jeanne Alter and Medb exchange copies of each other’s book, though Medb says the value of hers won’t last since she’ll make a better one next year. Gilgamesh then awards the group with the Grail. Edmond arrives and informs them that BB was never at Kileau like Jeanne Alter suspected. Jeanne Alter tells everyone that they’re going to the Mauna Kea Observatories, saying Pele awaits at the sight of the final battle.

On the seventh night, Ritsuka’s party comes to Mauna Kea. Jeanne Alter says it doesn’t make sense for BB to tell them to meet her here, because Pele hated it more than anything. Stranger still is that they came to Hawaii because they detected a Foreigner, but XX didn’t arrive until after they checked into the Shelton. XX is therefore not the Foreigner they’re looking for. Then, when Mash realizes the reason that they couldn’t contact Chaldea’s Hawaiian branch wasn’t because of the Singularity, BB reveals it’s because the office disappeared into Imaginary Number Space. It was on Mauna Kea, but BB sent it and the other observatories into Imaginary Number Space. Changing her appearance and that of the environment, BB asks Ritsuka why they didn’t use the Grail like she expected. Ritsuka makes it clear they don’t trust her. BB explains that while laying the groundwork for ServantFes with Pele last month, she visited Chaldea’s Hawaiian branch and looked through their telescope. Through it, she locked eyes with an Outer God and synchronized with it. Chaldea’s Hawaiian branch caught on, so she sent all facilities on the mountain into Imaginary Number Space to erase the evidence. She confirms she is the Foreigner Chaldea detected and reveals reserving time is the Outer God’s Authority. She was also the one who gave Gilgamesh amnesia. Jeanne Alter asks how she’s disguising her class, to which BB answers she only synched with the Outer God, but never merged with it. Calling herself both Foreigner and MoonCancer, BB decides she’ll send everyone back to the first day without their memories intact. She also reveals using the Grail would make the Singularity disappear, along with the rest of the planet. It makes the opposite effect of whatever is wished upon it. After declaring she doesn’t want humanity destroyed since they’re her toys, she tries to turn Robin into a pig, but he counters it with a spell Circe taught him. XX then arrives ready to execute BB. Jeanne Alter admits she may never make draw a better book and part of her wants to try again, but she’s had enough of this endless summer. Ritsuka’s party then fights BB.

She proves too powerful for them and nearly consumes them all, but XX stops her and uses her Noble Phantasm to confiscate the Outer God’s Authority. BB returns to her normal self and Jeanne Alter is glad the time loops will now stop. But BB asks her if there isn’t anything she wants to do in Luluhawa now that their vaction is actually end now. Jeanne Alter hesitates to answer when Gilgamesh shows up and proclaims that ServantFes will be extended by one day. He tells everyone to celebrate, considering it a wrap up party that he will have Sheba pay for. XX then takes BB into custody, promising they’ll both be back for tomorrow night’s party.

Ritsuka’s party notice that BB dropped copies of the books they made throughout the loops. But Jeanne Alter sees the two of them are identical, with one being the one they made for the current loop. She realizes something about the older one and takes Ritsuka with her to speak alone. She tells them that the older one is the one that inspired her to start drawing. Despite a few minor differences, both stories are identical. Jeanne Alter, therefore, concludes that paradoxically she drew the story that inspired to start drawing. Embarrassed that she was trying to surpass her own work, she deduces BB must have left the finished book from the future in Chaldea on purpose. She then lies down on the ground and asks the others to leave her be until she recovers from the plot twist.

Summer vacation soon ends, and Ritsuka’s party return to the airport. Chaldea’s Hawaiian branch and the Mauna Kea observatories have returned from Imaginary Number Space. The group tries to board their return flight when BB shows up and reveals she shut down all flights permanently. She needs their help to dislodge Pele’s Spirit Origin from hers, which even the Grail is incapable of doing, so she can get rid of her tan before she returns to Chladea. To convince them, she says the Singularity won’t disappear until she weakens Pele’s power over her. After Ritsuka’s party agrees to help, she tells them she created clones of herself and spread them around Luluhawa for them to eliminate. Once all four are gone, she should return to normal. Ritsuka’s party eventually succeeds and BB loses her tan. She awards them with another Grail and promises the Singularity will resolve and Luluhawa will return to being the Hawaiian Islands. Everyone then bids farewell to Luluhawa.

Abilities[]

Skills[]

Class Skills[]

  • Avenger (B Rank): A skill representing the state of an Avenger as one that gathers people's hatreds and grudges onto oneself. It is easier for one to accumulate hatred and resentment. The rate of mana generation becomes higher when receiving damage. After the result of the Orleans Singularity correction, her resentment has become a little lighter.[1]
  • Oblivion Correction (A Rank): Her hatred will never be cleared away, no matter how much time has passed. Even if, she is aware of the things more wonderful than her hatred.[1]
  • Self-Replenishment (Mana) (A+ Rank): One's Magical Energy endlessly surges until their revenge is accomplished. Recovers a minuscule amount of magical energy every turn. Because she was created by a wish upon the Holy Grail, the quantity of her mana recovery is of a higher grade.[1]

Personal Skills[]

  • Self-Modification (EX Rank): A special grade remodeling done by the Holy Grail. It has completely inverted the Saint and has made her fall into the Chaotic Evil alignment.[1]
  • Dragon Witch (EX Rank): Having been produced by Gilles' wishes, she possesses from birth the power of the Dragon kind. Believed to be an inverse phenomenon from saints possessing anecdotes of dispersing the dragon kind, such as Martha or maybe Georgios.[1][2][3] Possesses a unique Charisma that makes dragons obey her and a power that raises the attack power of the party.[1][2]
  • Ephemeral Dream (A Rank): A Skill that represents a lifeform born from illusions because of an individual’s desire. Because she was born from one’s desire, she possesses a powerful force, but at the same time, she is not permanently approved as a lifeform allowed for existence. After everything is finished, she will quietly start her slumber.[1]

Noble Phantasm[]

Jeanne Alter's Noble Phantasm is La Grondement Du Haine, the cursed flag possessed by Jeanne, who descended as the dragon witch. After stopping the enemy's attack, it swells up said attack and reflects it back.[3] She can also convert her own and the surroundings' grudges into magical power, burning her opponents to ashes.[2] It is powerful enough to push EMIYA Alter to use his shield to deflect her flames long enough to retreat.[7] Even though it wasn't strong enough to kill Hessian Lobo, it slowed him down long enough to allow Ritsuka's party to escape.[8]

Forms and Alternate Versions[]

Swimsuit[]

"If she's going to wear a swimsuit, of course I have to wear one too!"

The magical power of summer has pushed the Dragon Witch over the edge. The instant she learned that the next destination was Hawaii—she was a woman on a mission. Pulling an all-nighter marking up the travel guide with Post-it Notes. Planning the best itinerary to cover the tourist attractions within the limited schedule. Wrapping her body in a fetching dress like a Hollywood actress traveling in disguise. And off she goes, to the land of perpetual summer.

A lost Servant, turned into an agent of supreme power—She is none other than Jeanne d'Arc Alter, a Berserker enflamed in a black fire of vengeance!

Jeanne Alter dons a swimsuit to match Jeanne d'Arc, her blood rival (at least that's what she thinks). Though her class has changed from Avenger to Berserker, she does not seem to have changed on the inside very much. She did become more devoted to hobbyism, and has started dabbling in German.

Abilities[]

Class Skills:

  • Mad Enhancement (EX Rank): "Manga? Me? What stupid things are you saying? Did a worm hatch in your brains? Of course it’s wrong, this won’t beat that dōjin...! I’m going to draw, with all my body and soul…!"[10]

Personal Skills:

  • Schwarzwald Falke (B Rank): German. It’s translated as falcon of the black forest, but… There’s no meaning… in particular... Seems it was added 「because it’s somewhat cool」.Mysterious power.[10]
  • Meurs Où tu Dois (EX Rank): Accurately, it’s “Va où tu peux, meurs où tu dois”. Go to the place you must go, die at the place you must die… A French proverb. For one reason or another, she who is an Avenger is looking for a place to die. Not a pleasant, gentle death. No matter how intense, how desperate it is. Hoping that’s a satisfactory departure, she continues fighting every day.[10]

Noble Phantasm:
Jeanne d'Arc Alter's Noble Phantasm is Völkermord Feuerdrache.[10]

Creation and Conception[]

Jeanne d'Arc (Alter) was designed by Takashi Takeuchi in Fate/Grand Order.[1][2] Yuuichirou Higashide is the scenario writer for her character.[1]

Comment from Illustrator[]

"Originally, she was produced as a simple color change character and was planned as an event distribution Servant, but she got to be reconstructed as an official character, and her figure was pushed out by everybody who demanded for her. Her shading and a bit of her design differs from the Jeanne Alter that appeared in Chapter 1. Because there is a significance for her hairstyle in having its braid cut off, there was some resistance in having her hair grow out long for her third stage Ascension, but I also did this long hairstyle on Jeanne preferably because it was said to be towards a good direction, and hey, it was a good direction to have it be flashy after all."[1]

"She is Jeanne Alter (Ruler) at the time of her appearance in the first chapter. For the development in those days, since it was a time where there was no leeway for us mentally as well as timewise, the only option was to re-use Jeanne’s outfit with a color change. Although given that implementing a character of Jeanne with a color change in her standing pose is, as one would expect, unattractive, we made sure to turn around the way Jeanne was drawn in the key visuals. Even though she is called a NPC, she is drawn with distorted facial expressions and the likes, doing whatever I please without any kind of eagerness, and it was quite a bit of a surprise that a lot was pleased with that side of her. Nowadays, she totally became a character known for her amusing facial expressions."[1]

    Profile
---If God exists, then I will certainly receive divine punishment.---

    Level 1 Bond
    Height/Weight: 159cm・44kg
    Source: Historical fact
    Region: France
    Alignment: Chaotic Evil Gender: Female
One of the few members of the unique Avenger Class.

    Level 2 Bond
Although designated Alter, it does not mean that she is a different side of Jeanne D'arc. A Jeanne of vengeance that Gilles de Rais, the French Army's marshal who grieved for Jeanne D'arc's death, fabricated by means of the Holy Grail.
As a Heroic Spirit that is an exact opposite of the proper Jeanne, she is manifesting in the Avenger Class.

    Level 3 Bond
Since the proper Jeanne is not a hero, but a holy woman, the possibility of "summoning a different side of her" is nil.
Because this black Jeanne has Gilles de Rais' anger... prejudices and wishes for her to be like that... mixed in her fundamental parts, a "side" that should never happen ended up being brought to the surface.
A dragon witch that takes revenge on France.
A holy woman who talks about justice as if she owned the place and, without having any doubts about that, is spurred on by the wrath against the people; that is the form which Gilles de Rais wished her to be like.

    Level 4 Bond

    • Dragon Witch: EX

Having been produced by Gilles' wishes, she possesses from birth the power of the dragon kind.
Believed to be an inverse phenomenon from saints possessing anecdotes of dispersing the dragon kind, such as Saint Martha or maybe Saint George.
Possesses a unique Charisma that makes dragons obey her, and a power that raises the attack power of the party.

    Level 5 Bond
    "Howl Loudly, My Resentment"
Rank: A+ Type: Anti-Army Noble Phantasm
    La Grondement du Haine.
The cursed flag possessed by Jeanne, who descended as the dragon witch.
By the name of a revenger, she instigates and converts her own and the surroundings' grudges into magical power, burning to ashes up to the marrow of the opponent's injustice, corruption and self-righteousness. Scary.

    Interlude
With several circumstances accumulating, despite being a fictional existence, it became possible for her to answer to summons as a black holy woman.
She is fundamentally bitter towards the Master, but maybe due how the holy woman Jeanne who became her basis was quite the softhearted, one can perceive respect and affection for the Master at her core.
She has no girlish hobbies, but seems that there were some maiden-like wishes.
"To think that, in the depths of her consciousness, she wants to perform a strained avenge trade while being surrounded by handsome men of her own liking!" - such is the comment from a Servant of the same Avenger Class.
