Kaori Tachibana (橘 佳織, Tachibana Kaori?) is a high school freshman studying at Reien Girl's Academy in Kara no Kyoukai.

Background[]
Kaori met her upperclassman Misaya Ouji elementary school, forming a close relationship that lasted into their high school years.
Prior to November 1998, she discovered teacher Hideo Hayama taking drugs in school. Forcing her to become addicted her to them as well, she at one point began to undergo withdrawal, running out of class, saying that "the fairies" were coming after her. She killed herself November in the abandoned school building by burning it, hoping that it would be a way to save the souls of her guilty classmates and herself.
