Karius Berlusconi (カリウス・ベルルスコーニ, Kariusu Berurusukōni?) is a subordinate of Mario Gallo Bestino sent by the Holy Church to oversee events in Souya, Japan in the Tsukihime Remake series.

Background[]
Karius was born in Italy. In his home country, he is a judge, likely serving as a Church plant in the legal system similar to the role that Yuugo Ando serves in Souya's police force.[2]
Appearance[]
Karius is a tall man with long white hair and eyes that appear perpetually closed. He wears a grey longcoat over a grey pinstripe shirt, black tie, black dress pants, and maroon gloves. On his shirt lapel is fastened a silver pin in the shape of a coat of arms that incorporates a cross, which is also worn by his coworker.
Personality[]
He has a strong interest in Japanese culture, and disdains his fellow Church agent Ando for his relative lack of shared interest despite the latter being ethnically Japanese.
Role[]
Tsukihime[]
His assigned role during the events in Souya primarily concerns bureaucratic work.[3]
In the Normal Ending of Ciel’s route, he confronts Shiki on why he decided to become an Executor if Ciel cannot be brought back to life, knowing that not even the Church has the ability to truly revive the dead. When Shiki informs him he simply wants to atone for his selfish mistake, he is satisfied with the answer.[2]

Takashi Takeuchi describes him as the hardest character to design for the game.[1]
He and Yuugo Ando have detailed backstories that will be revealed at a later point, but are planned to remain side characters in any future appearances.[4]
