KinguWP (キングゥ, Kinguu?), Class Name Lancer (ランサー, Ransā?), is a Lancer-class Servant appearing as an antagonist in the Grand Orders of Fate/Grand Order. They later become an Avenger-class Servant.

Profile[]

Identity[]

Said to be a child of Tiamat, but he is not a reincarnation of the god slain by Marduk. He believes himself to be the start of a new humanity created by his "mother," but he later learns he is not truly one of her children. He is a soul that has been placed into the body of the deceased Enkidu and cannot hear Tiamat's voice like her real children.

Appearance[]

Kingu's only difference from the normal Enkidu is that they have purple eyes.

Personality[]

Enkidu's flesh was designed so that his entire personality would be inscribed into the body itself. As such, even if a different soul inhabited their corpse, it would be recorded by the world as one of the "paths" a body created by the gods took. A path... or perhaps "circuit" is a better term. Enkidu originally didn't have a personality until they bonded with other humans and Gilgamesh himself. Therefore, what was recorded onto the Throne of Heroes was not their soul, but their physical body.[3]

Role[]

Fate/Grand Order[]

Seventh Singularity: Babylonia[]

Tiamat implanted the Holy Grail in Enkidu's corpse to reanimate for the purposes of awakening her, calling it Kingu.[4] Kingu believed themselves to be Tiamat's child, and they are the prototype of a new humanity based on Enkidu.[5] While searching for a way to awaken Tiamat, they eventually found Gorgon, who was summoned by the Grail's influence, in northern Mesopotamia. They restored her Divinity, which resulted in Gorgon gaining the Authority Potnia Theron by synchronizing with Tiamat's consciousness.[6] Eventually, Kingu convinces Gorgon, Quetzalcoatl, and Ereshkigal to become a three-joint alliance that'll become known as the Three Goddess Alliance for purposes of destroying what they call the old humanity.[2][6]

Kingu meets Ritsuka and Mash in the ruins of Babylon, easily eliminating the Demonic Beasts chasing them. Introducing themselves as Enkidu, they help the pair escape. They know they’re from Chaldea, claiming to know of their mission from Uruk’s Temple Matron. They further claim they came to ruins under orders to protect the pair. While not understanding the circumstances of the other eras, Kingu states people from the Age of Gods will not submit to a world-ending disaster. He then guides Ritsuka and Mash to Uruk via a longer route to avoid more beasts.[7]

As Kingu guides Ritsuka and Mash north, instead of south where Uruk is, they explain Mesopotamia is currently being invaded by the Three Goddess Alliance. The Alliance has killed roughly 80% of the population and conquered 60% of Mesopotamia. Kingu explains the Alliance’s goal is to destroy humanity, each member having their own method. Reaching a plateau, the group witness a massive horde of Demonic Beasts attacking the Northern Wall, which was built by dismantling Babylonia. Kingu says the soldiers there have held it for six months. They find it pointless for the beasts to kill every human, believing the humans will die off on their own. They then guide the pair into the Cedar Forest.[2]

Inside the forest, Kingu claims they’re heading towards a wharf, where they’ll take a boat downstream. The group soon meets Merlin and Medusa. Merlin ousts King as a fake by mentioning that Gilgamesh just recently returned from his quest for the herb of immortality. Removing the facade, Kingu admits they were trying to lead Ritsuka and Mash to the goddess who lives up ahead. Mash asks them if they’re truly Enkidu. Kingu asserts they must be since they share the same appearance and powers, saying it's only natural for a weapon made by the gods to side with the Alliance. They then get ready to fight, claiming they only fought alongside Ritsuka and Mash to demonstrate their weakness.[2]

During the fight, though, Merlin uses an illusion to trick everyone except Medusa. Thinking they’re still in the forest, Kingu is led out of it by Medusa. After the illusion fades, Kingu deduces Merlin is the mage working for Uruk. Realizing it's impossible to break his illusions, Kingu decides to return to Gorgon. They call her a child in contrast to her size, saying she goes on a rampage when they leave her side. If she does, it could ruin their careful and methodical plan to destroy humanity in a day. While finding nothing wrong with killing humans, Kingu believes a reason and a theme are needed as per their duty as the new humanity.[2]

A month later, Kingu confronts Ritsuka and Mash at the Persian Gulf, approaching their position at a speed of 500 kph. After Mash blocks the impact, Kingu mocks her and Ritsuka for coming to a secluded area without an escort. Though annoyed at being called Fake Enkidu, they nonetheless confess that they’re not Enkidu. They then fight Ritsuka and Mash using Gilgamesh’s former fighting style. Kingu calls it the optimal way to fight with their body, claiming Gilgamesh is the imitator. Gilgamesh, however, recalls Enkidu calling such a method the perfect waste of energy. Addressing Kingu as Enkidu, he notes the former’s lack of efficiency and their uncharacteristic joy for battle. After Mash corrects him, he calls Kingu possibly stronger than the original, theorizing they acquired a powerful magical reactor core. Unable to stand Gilgamesh’s voice anymore, Kingu declares they will end the world and him with it and leaves.[8]

In the sky, Kingu notes the imbalance in their power output and motor functions. Their recording is also out of order, only able to access previous battles. Believing their heart to be defected, Kingu questions why they retreated given they’re stronger than Ritsuka, Mash, and Gilgamesh. They then repeatedly declare they’ll kill Gilgamesh, though they briefly express a desire to talk with him.[8]

Kingu leads a horde of Demonic Beasts to Nippur a day ahead of the Demonic Front rescue operation, capturing the city's civilians and bringing them to the Blood Fort to convert them into more Demonic Beasts. When Ritsuka’s party arrives to find the city empty, Kingu explains what happened to the civilians. They also reveal the Demonic Beasts have been capturing humans and bringing them back to the Blood Fort. Calling the Northern Wall a place for gathering resources, Kingu explains the true invasion will not begin until the second generation of Demonic Beasts is born. They then ask Ritsuka where Gilgamesh is. Ritsuka wonders if they see him, but Kingu claims he was only assessing his enemy’s current strength. They then sick an Ugallu at Ritsuka’s party. After the Ugallu is slain, Kingu attacks Medusa. They call her their main target, having had their suspicions about her ever since they fought in the forest. They wound her, but Fou teleports Medusa away. However, against Kingu's original plan, Gorgon emerges from beneath the earth and kills the soldiers accompanying Ritsuka's party. Addressing her as Mother, Kingu reminds her the original plan was for her to awaken on the Day of Rebirth. She replies that she merely wanted to see what her child was doing. She orders Kingu to stand back while she prevents the group from retreating to the Northern Wall.[9]

After Gorgon kills Leonidas, Kingu advises her against launching a full invasion on Uruk for now. They remind her the Alliance will be dissolved once Uruk falls. The second generation is reserved for that, so until they're born, the Alliance must continue. Kingu reminds Gorgon she is now an incarnation of Tiamat and advises her to return to the Blood Fort. Gorgon agrees and leaves with a warning the invasion will come ten days from now. After she’s gone, Kingu explains they had her leave to ensure the Alliance's continue since it would end if Gorgon killed all the humans now. They then reveal themselves to be the prototype for a new humanity meant to replace the old. They reveal their True Name, though they aren’t the original Kingu. Declaring they were designed as the perfect new human, Kingu proclaims humanity will be reborn with them after the old humans die out. They then return to the Blood Fort.[9]

At the Blood Fort, Kingu gives directions to children on how to escape the forest. They explain to Ushiwakamaru (who they captured to be converted into a Demonic Beast) that the temple functions as a womb of sorts to produce Demonic Beasts at greater numbers than a maternal body can handle. Hearing the mind is converted last, Ushimakakura considers it foolish to do so since it only gives humans the chance to resist even after transforming. Kingu agrees and explains those used for materials are turned into goo to be placed into each Demonic Beasts’ adjustment tank. Ushiwakamaru asks them why they let the children escape. They explain that, unlike Gorgon, they only kill those they consider threats. Ushiwakamaru points out though they merely answered a child’s cry for help. Because they’re unable to embrace complete cruelty, Ushiwakamaru tells Kingu that they’d be ridiculed on the battlefield as a clown. In response, Kingu decides to corrupt her into one of Tiamat’s children with the Chaos Tide.[9]

When Ritsuka’s party goes to assault the Blood Fort, Kingu leads an assault on the Northern Wall. They attack Quetzalcoatl, disappointed that she and Ereshkigal have allied themselves with Chaldea. They thought they would understand Tiamat's grief, especially Quetzalcoatl, whose civilization was destroyed by Hernán Cortés. Quetzalcoatl prepares to fight them, declaring she’ll kill Gorgon afterward. Kingu finds her absurd for wanting to kill Gorgon as thanks for not killing her and helping her find a new Master. They, therefore, decide to kill her out of disappointment. Eventually, Quetzalcoatl gets the signal from Merlin to throw Marduk’s Axe at the Blood Fort. Kingu mistakenly believes she is trying to use it until she throws it at the Blood Fort. The temple is destroyed, and Quetzalcoatl’s divinity falls for breaking the Alliance’s non-aggression pact. Gorgon’s divinity also falls. Kingu then notices Medusa isn’t present and goes off to save Gorgon.[5]

Gorgon has been slain by the time they arrive, however. Kingu assumes Medusa's absence means she sacrificed herself to slay Gorgon. They then decide to kill Ritsuka's party out of hatred, revealing the Demonic Beasts born of Gorgon will self-destruct with her gone. Their Spirit Origin changes into an Avenger, and they fight the group. The fight stops, though, when Tiamat wakes as a result of Gorgon's death. Tiamat wounds Merlin for trapping her in a dream to postpone her awakening. Kingu then explains why Tiamat created them. Meanwhile, the Persian Gulf becomes the Chaos Tide, and hordes of Lahmu emerge from it. Kingu declares no one can stop Tiamat now, not even the gods or Solomon. They then leave with the proclamation that Tiamat will replace humanity with a new one.[5]

Later over Eridu, Kingu asks Solomon through his projection why Tiamat has yet to surface. Solomon explains there is a seal on her and orders Kingu to break it. He leaves asking Kingu if Tiamat truly wants a new humanity or not. Kingu finds it ridiculous she wouldn’t want to, believing she created them for that purpose. They then watch the Lahmu kill another human, wondering if that’s how they think observing humans is done. Finding the Lahmu far worse than Demonic Beasts, Kingu wonders why Tiamat created such creatures. They quickly dismiss this question though, only seeing the Lahmu as soldiers. After declaring they need no one since the world needs them, Kingu tries and fails to hear Tiamat’s voice. Before the sea turned black, they were at least able to hear her sobbing when they closed their eyes. They then wonder who was the power to place a seal on Tiamat.[6]

The Lahmu extracting the Grail

The Lahmu taking the Holy Grail.

The next day, they attack the Lahmu for slaughtering their human prisoners instead of attacking Ritsuka's party. They demand to know why they would kill humans who aren’t even a threat, especially since Tiamat will eventually kill them anyway. They believe the Lahmu to be faulty from Tiamat creating them so suddenly after awakening. Yet despite their low opinion of them, Kingu still considers the Lahmu their siblings. They, therefore, order them to retreat to ensure Quetzalcoatl doesn't kill them. In response to Mash’s surprise, they explain the Lahmu are simplified and mass-produced versions of themselves. Mash then reveals to them the truth of their creation. Kingu is nonetheless grateful to Tiamat for creating them, believing their only purpose is to serve her. The Lahmu then kill their human prisoners again, ignoring Kingu’s demands for them to stop. Expressing their joy at killing humans, the Lahmu reveal Tiamat ordered them to learn to become like the humans. The result is their senseless slaughter of humans. A Lahmu then rips the Grail out of Kingu, transforming into Bel Lahmu after swallowing it. It tells Kingu that the Lahmu were tasked with waking Tiamat and calls them obsolete.[4]

Kingu flees from the Lahmu into the jungle, their attacks useless without the Grail’s power. They come to realize they were expendable from the beginning, with nothing beyond the belief they were Tiamat’s child. They express a wish to see Gilgamesh again as they prepare themselves to be killed by the Lahmu. They're saved, however, by a strange Lahmu. It calls Kingu Enkidu and tells them to run. Kingu realizes it was once Siduri and questions why she would save them. Siduri tells them to find happiness and that the people of Uruk will always be grateful to them for becoming Gilgamesh’s friend. Everyone mourned their death, nor did they forget it. For that reason they want "Enkidu" to find happiness. She then dies grateful she could talk with them. Kingu is left wondering they know Siduri’s name and face, even though they never knew her. They say they have no right to receive her gratitude when they experience intense pain.[10]

A night later Kingu comes to Celestial Hill in Uruk. They do not know why they came to such a place, only knowing it was important to Enkidu. Finding Enkidu’s memories and themselves pointless, they decide they should just shut down. They begin to lose consciousness when Gilgamesh’s talking jolts them back awake. Gilgamesh tells them to leave, saying he will ignore their crime of leaving their corpse on the hill if they do. He then gives them the Greater Grail of Uruk to replace the Grail that previously served as their core. Kingu asks him why he is helping an enemy, reminding him they aren’t Enkidu. Gilgamesh replies he knows they’re a different person using his friend’s body. But even so, they are worthy of his friendship. Even if their heart and soul are different, their body is the one and only Chain of the Heavens. As his trusted friend's successor, Gilgamesh finds nothing wrong with favoring Kingu. He then leaves, telling them to do what they will. When Kingu is confused by his meaning, Gilgamesh explains the circumstances of their birth do not matter, they only need to do what they truly want to. Kingu finds it too late, as they never had a goal to strive for, or their own will to choose freedom.[11]

When Tiamat arrives in Uruk, Kingu attacks the clump of Lahmu crushing the ziggurat. Though mocking Ritsuka's party for struggling against the Lahmu, they nonetheless commend them for surviving thus far with help of their allies. They accept they were imperfect the moment they thought they could do everything alone. A Bel Lahmu is shocked to see them alive and demands to know why they’ve allied with the humans. Kingu kills it, saying they haven’t allied with the humans and calling themselves the sole member of the new humanity. Recalling their last conversation with Gilgamesh, they realize they wanted to be his friend. But that can’t happen, as that wish belonged to Enkidu. Kingu’s wish has nothing to do with the old or the new humanity, as they were born into the world to preserve it. Kingu bids farewell to Tiamat, saying she chose the wrong child. They then use Enuma Elish to bind her in the Chains of Heaven. She soon breaks the chains, killing Kingu.[12]

Enkidu Interlude[]

After the events of Babylon, Enkidu travels there during their interlude, finding part of Kingu in the form of the Chain of Heaven still chaining down a piece of Tiamat's flesh. After dealing with Lahmu emerging from the flesh, Enkidu takes Kingu into themselves.

Abilities[]

Using the King of Magecraft Holy Grail as a magical reactor core, Kingu stands next to the strongest heroes in human history.[1] Upon witnessing them flying at 500 km/h with the mana concentration of the Age of Gods, Gilgamesh complements them for their flying speed claiming that it was impressive even by his standards and that they may have been even stronger than the original Enkidu,[8] a Heroic Spirit whose combat strength is roughly the same as that of Gilgamesh during his prime.[1] As such, they clearly have the upper hand against the Sage King Gilgamesh.[8] When fighting Mash and Ana, their Magical Energy already rivals that of a Demon God Pillar.[2] He is also able to fight on par with a playful Quetzalcoatl.[5]

Skills[]

Possessing Enkidu's corpse, Kingu has access to all their powers.[2]

  • Transfiguration (? Rank): A unique skill in which parameter values are allotted in accordance to the situation from a prescribed comprehensive value. Enkidu’s greatest feature. The higher the rank, the higher the comprehensive value becomes. With this skill, its user is able to increase the rank of their parameters. However, because the conversion limits of parameters are set in stone, it cannot make all parameters into A Rank. Enkidu possesses a comprehensive value of 30, and each parameter consumes the respective values: A-7, B-6, C-5, D-4, E-3.[1] It is unknown how many points Kingu has access to. Furthermore, Kingu is able to modify their own Spirit Origin changing their class form Lancer to Avenger.[5]
  • Presence Detection (? Rank): It is possible to sense presences from long distances by using the land as a medium.[1] Kingu's mastery over this skill is slightly higher than Enkidu's, as they are able to melt their very existence into the world. Even if for an instant, Kingu may be able to evade an enemy's attacks.[3]
  • Perfect Form (? Rank): By making use of the Magical Energy of the land, it restores itself to its former shape. So long as there is a supply of magic energy from the land, Enkidu’s body, which was produced from the clay of the Age of Gods, will never collapse. This ability is a powerful form of regeneration and restoration that is completely unprecedented—the soul, however, is a different matter.[1]

Noble Phantasms[]

Having all of Enkidu's powers, Kingu can also endlessly create powerful weapons from the ground, like spears and chains, and fire them thanks to Age of Babylon.[3][8] As such, his fighting style is identical to that of the legendary King of Heroes.[8] His precision with this Noble Phantasm is extremely high, as shown when he killed 100 Demonic Beasts at once while keeping collateral damage at a minimum whereas Mash had claimed destroying them with a single attack would be impossible without an Anti-Army Noble Phantasm.[7] Furthermore, Kingu is capable of destroying 6000 Bel Laḫmu out of 8000 with a single assault.[12]

Their strongest Noble Phantasms are Enuma Elish and Nammu Duranki, which when used in Enkidu's body, is identical to their version of Enuma Elish. With it, Kingu is able to momentarily restrain Tiamat's "Titan" form. Even though Tiamat freed herself by breaking the chains, Gilgamesh considers this feat equal to any of his previous life.[12]

    Profile
From its gentle tone and graceful bearings, one would never guess that this is a “Noble Phantasm with a will” that possesses a fierce combat power.
The chains that fasten heavens and earth, regarded by the King of Heroes Gilgamesh as one of the strongest.
A doll created by the hands of the gods, and also an offshot of the earth that harmonizes・becomes one with nature.

A tragic weapon that underwent many adventures as the sole friend of the King of Heroes and, after acquiring a human heart, returned to dirt as a doll.

    Level 1 Bond
    Height/Weight: Variable
    Source: Epic of Gilgamesh
    Region: Mesopotamia
    Alignment: True Neutral Gender: -
“If you tell me to fight, I’ll fight.
After all, it is not like I hate fighting”

    Level 2 Bond
One of the oldest heroes described in the Epic of Gilgamesh. A weapon manufactured by the gods.
Originally, it was “a clay work that could transform into anything” produced by the gods.
It phantasmagorically changes its shape in accordance with circumstances.
Its whole body is equivalent to a weapon of gods.
However, it does not have the same mentality or emotions as people, and at first it was not all that different from a wild beast.

It has been said that, after appearing on this world, it became aware of much by meeting with a single sacred prostitute and eventually choose to take the shape of a person (as its basic form).
This appearance is something modeled after said sacred prostitute out of respect.

    Level 3 Bond
Its combat strength is roughly the same as that of the King of Heroes Gilgamesh on his golden age.
In the battle against Gilgamesh described on the Epic, it displayed a performance on par to him, who is recognized as one of the strongest heroes in human history.

The first friend ever discovered by Gilgamesh, who was an aloof existence, and it too perceives Gilgamesh as its peerless friend.
After the fight on the city of Uruk, the friends Gilgamesh and Enkidu underwent many adventures, but it ultimately lost its life after the battle with the divine beast Gugalanna.

    Level 4 Bond
    Introverted, active and self-assured.
Usually it just loiters like a beautiful flower but, once it gets on the move, it becomes a frightening active monster that doesn’t wait, has no mercy and show no self-restrain.

Since they are life forms born from the Earth, it also finds humans “appealing”. But, because humans think of themselves as beings apart from nature due to their intelligence, they rank low as protection targets.
It feels that animals and plants are existences closer to itself and it mostly takes action in order to protect them.

That being said, since it had great curiosity (intellectual craving) to begin with, Enkidu regards conversations with humans as an enjoyment.
If said character has an appealing personality (a totalitarian brimming with philantropous mentality, and yet who thinks of himself as foremost), it will demonstrate respect and admiration from the bottom of its heart, feeling joy in support him as a friend.

    Level 5 Bond

    • Transfiguration: A

A unique skill in which parameter values are allotted in accordance to the situation from a prescribed comprehensive value. Enkidu’s greatest feature.
The higher the rank, higher the comprehensive value becomes.
At times it makes STR into A Rank, at times it makes END into A Rank.
However, because the conversion limits of parameters is set in stone, it cannot make all parameters into A Rank.
Enkidu possesses a comprehensive value of 30, and each parameter consume the respectively values: A-7, B-6, C-5, D-4, E-3.

    • Presence Detection: A+

The highest rank of presence detection.
It is possible to sense presences from long distances by using the land as a medium.

    • Consummated Shape: A

By making use of the magic energy of the land, it restores itself to its former shape.
So long there is a supply of magic energy from the land, Enkidu’s body (which was produced from the clay of the Age of Gods) will never collapse.
A powerful regeneration・restoration ability that is completely unprecedented.
However, the soul is a different matter.

    Level 5 Bond
"O People, Lets Tie the Gods"
    Rank: A++  Type: Anti-Purge
    Enuma Elish.
Enkidu transforms its own body into a Divine Construct.
Becoming a linchpin that converted vast amounts of energy to pierce and tie the target.

Originally, Enkidu was a weapon dispatched by the gods in order to “restore Gilgamesh to god”.
The “Linchpin of Heavens” created so that gods and people would not separate, Gilgamesh.
Because such Gilgamesh revolted against the gods, it was charged with the role of binding and bringing him back to heavens.

However, Enkidu became Gilgamesh’s friend and, just like its friend wished, chose the path of using this “chain that restrains even heavens” for the sake of people.
