Koyanskaya of Light (光のコヤンスカヤ, Hikari no Koyansukaya?), Class Name Assassin (アサシン, Asashin?), is an Assassin-class Servant summoned by Ritsuka Fujimaru in the Grand Orders of Fate/Grand Order.
Profile[]
Identity[]
Koyanskaya of Light is summoned as a Servant of Chaldea Security Organization after the events of the Tunguska Special Territory incident. She is one of two fragments that spilled out from Lostbelt: Beast IV's sealed cage: the side of her that respects humanity and has a soft spot for humans - just a little - compared to when she was Chaldea's enemy.[1]
Appearance[]
Personality[]
A captivating beauty who bewitchingly leads humans around by the nose, following her policies of free and uncontrolled wildness. She regards all human activity as filthy, but that doesn't mean she dislikes any of it. Some things are only fun because they're dirty. Indeed, entertainment, games, business.
As you can see, due to her personality demanding her to enjoy everything she does, her attacks on humanity are very roundabout. After considering many possible ways to dunk on humanity, she reached a conclusion: "Perhaps keeping them under their treasured pet's management and gradually degrading them is my most humiliating and most perverse option." And so she chose to trail the path of a goddess of weaponry, what humanity deserves to be ruled by. Due to her great amount of pride as someone who lives in the wild, she is upright about repaying profits with profits, no matter who she gained them from, and always keeping promises. During Part 1.5, she worked in human society as a business consultant, and this personality of hers was the cause of her success.
Attitude towards the Master[]
Her stance is to grant their superficial desires while cleverly trampling their essential hopes (dreams for the future, ideal self, etc). Any human who contracts Koyanskaya will be successful and enjoy every day of their lives, but will ultimately lose everything, fall into despair, and become a dejected failure. However, now that Koyanskaya learned that her purpose in life is to watch her Master realize that all the pampering made them lose their chance to become their ideal self, she'll get her Master back in their original state so that she can savor her life purpose again. That's the start of an infinite loop of setback→motivation→setback→motivation. Who wins and who loses in the end depends on that Master's social grace.[1]
Relationships[]
- Tamamo-no-Mae
- "Are you perhaps the famed Tamamo-no-Mae? Indeed, that's the original Divine Spirit I was copied from. But I'm nothing more than her shadow. I'm not one of the tails she cut off from herself. I guess the most intuitive way to put it would be... I am the Tamamo-no-Mae from another world. Think of me as the Tamamo-no-Mae who reincarnated in an isekai."[4]
- Taigong Wang
- "Taigong Wang-san is at this place? A specialist in beast hunting... I have a problem with how he keeps mistaking me for someone else all the time, but... I told him that I had such pure feelings. Trying to understand the bitter enemy to defeat, for the love of ── That's why I hate humans."[4]
- Ashiya Douman
- "Blegh. Limbo is here? UNBELIEVABLE! Pardon, I lost my composure. If I remember correctly, he's the twisted bootlicking musclebound feline constantly begging for attention... sorry, I meant, the famed onmyouji Ashiya Douman. A Servant whose fighting power I can't complain about, despite him being Abe no Seimei's punching bag. ...But, isn't he the same as before? I recommend trying to get a refund since you got the inferior product." [4]
- Senji Muramasa
- "Ooh. Do I see a former coworker? Huhuhu, I'd love to hear your thoughts on what it was like to be locked in a cage and fiddled wi... Oh, pardon me, I didn't know you were the Saber Muramasa. In that case, our relationship is back to square one. If you don't mind me, I'd like to place some orders again."[4]
- "Senji Muramasa. I see you're quite the swordsmith. Gods and blacksmiths are inseparable since ancient times. If you so wish, you can take a swing with the divine enshrined in my temple and... Why do you look so completely disgusted? I'm the Koyanskaya of Light! Can't you see?"[4]
- Oberon
- "Faerie King Oberon? Misanthropy is one thing we have in common, but I am not nearly as serious about it, or self-loathing, as he is. If he ever poses a threat of human extinction, I'll do you the favor of beating him to the punch."[4]
- Qin Shi Huang
- "Qin Shi Huang is here?! And they came here more or less on foot? Their humanity is still as bananas as ever... Wait, no, they're a... Zhenren, was it? But I have no reason to panic. Why? Because I'm Koyanskaya of Light. The good Emperor only deemed my beast self evil."[4]
- Morgan
- "The queen of the Faerie Britain. I did want to meet her, at least once. She's a lady of enough valor to make that splendid country, after all. How could I not find her inspiring? She surely is quite the cruel and heinous... Oh? My impression of her is a bit off the mark?"[4]
- William Tell
- "I'm thoroughly shocked. Tell, the top-tier hunter, is handling modern weaponry. Secretly, in my heart of hearts, I wished I could give him a medal of honor. Ah, just for clarification's sake, I meant I want to give him an actual medal for the honor of being my favorite, not the videogame titled Medal of Honor."[4]
- Robin Hood
- "I'm thoroughly disappointed. Robin, that unmotivated hunter, is still overly attached to outdated tactics. Unconcealedly, in my face of faces, I'm itching to assert my dominance on him with a good mad laughter. Can I trust you to be a fair and impartial judge when I do?"[4]
- Osakabehime (Swimsuit)
- "As far as I knew, the name Osakabehime refers to the apparition of the Himeji Castle... but I didn't imagine she'd partake in such a modern hobby as playing survival games in the summer. I'm very interested. How did you call that... The Hime Circle? Could I please join that?"[4]
- Melusine
- "The broken remains of Albion can be quite presumptuous. And the "fighter jet" type, on top of that. You could consider her a perfect counter to my Grand Shrine. I want to make her pay for what she did in Britain as many times as the number of nuclear missiles I have, but her maneuvers are a bit too abnormal to grasp. Doesn't she look like she's in the wrong franchise?"[4]
Role[]
Fate/Grand Order[]
Nahui Mictlan: Golden Sea of Trees Travelogue[]
Koyanskaya of Light summons herself as a Servant to help Chaldea, using her lipstick which Goredolf Musik has been holding onto all this time as her Catalyst.[3][5][6][7]
Abilities[]
Despite being a Beast candidate,[7] Koyanskaya of Light is a Heroic Spirit of the Human Order summoned thanks to her lipstick acting as a Catalyst.[3] Koyanskaya claims to have her own Magical Energy supply, which renders her Master unnecessary. She says that if the conditions are right, she is completely unbeatable. Goredolf Musik evaluates such claims as delusional.[6]
In her final Ascension, she becomes a Divine Spirit-class Servant known as Ikusautsuwa-no-Oomikami.[7]
Combat[]
Koyanskaya has the right to use every weapon created by Humanity and the Authority to wield them at their maximum capacity.[1] She favors heavy artillery, keeping up with the theme of killing humans with the weapons they created. Pistols, rifles, launchers, helicopter fire, you name it.[2]
Her great battle capabilities allow her to handle 40% of the 20 Ocelomeh platoons by herself, which amounts to 800 warriors (100 per platoon). However, she proves to be no match for Tezcatlipoca, who defeated her in single combat.[5]
Skills[]
Class Skills[]
- Divinity (- Rank): Everyone in the Tamamo genus has this, but Koyanskaya lost hers when she fell into Beasthood.[2]
- Independent Manifestation (C Rank): The proof that she's a SPY. Drifter abilities. Due to her Beast traits, Koyanskaya can visit any alternative World or alternative reality. When Koyanskaya was a Beast in the making, she could use this Skill to freely move between Lostbelts and the blank Earth, but due to the big rank down on this Skill, she can't move as freely as she previously could.[1][2]
- Independent Action (EX Rank): Surprisingly and terrifyingly enough, Koyanskaya of Light doesn't need a Master. She abides by her Master's Command Spell for a single reason. Only her pride telling she'll never break a promise or contract.[1][2]
- Shapeshift (A Rank): This was originally a Skill to raise defense, but Koyanskaya uses it as her favorite tool for SPY activity.[1][2]
- Goddess Metamorphosis (Guns) (B Rank): No information available.
- Nega-Weapon (No Rank): The Nega Skill she had when she was a Larval Beast. It currently falls under the "Aptitude for Slaughter (Gun)" label so she can show off how she's not a Beast anymore.[2]
Personal Skills[]
- Aptitude for Slaughter (Man) (A Rank): A variation of a personal Skill of Archimedes, the founder of mathematics. Archimedes accidentally created massacre weapons that surpassed the state-of-the-art weaponry of his time, but Koyanskaya gained this Skill on purpose. The Skill allows her to use any weapon used by Humanity from the era she's in, and the weapons become multiple times more powerful than they were in human hands and able to instantly perform the natural cycle of retributive justice (karma normally takes it slow, occurring liberally through the span of a few centuries). Fitting for a former Beast in the making, this Skills represents the fact that, on paper, humanity doesn't stand a chance against her in this era. That said, this Skill serves only to assert dominance on humanity, so it's not nearly that absolute of a Skill against Servants or Monsters. It gives her a disgustingly powerful super-effectiveness against humans.[1][2]
- Innovator Bunny (A Rank): The Authority to improve profit-making systems and creates cycles dedicated solely to tormenting (exploiting) humans... or so she claims with the smuggest shit-eating grin on her face. It's actually just a hobby and a talent of hers.[1][2] A Skill of rule by fear only one step away from corporate slavery. It expands vitality (NP) and heals physical fatigue (Skill Charge) for the business support target. This excessive scene of "the helped party is at max motivation but one step away from hell" can be a little exhausting for those watching it. Bunnies are scary.[2]
- NFF Special (A Rank): The highest level of the Shapeshift Skill, also called Goddess Metamorphosis (Guns). She transforms into Tamamo Vitch Koyanskaya Weapon, the goddess of firearms. Not to be confused with Kiara's and Summer Tamamo's versions of Goddess Metamorphosis. Amazing Buster buffs, just for you.[2]
Noble Phantasm[]
Koyanskaya's Noble Phantasm is Iz Tula Seven Drive. She summons the NF-79 Tactical Suppression Vehicle, the best weapon ever made by Tamamo Heavy Industries (an NFF subsidiary), and slaughters her enemies with it.
Forms and Alternate Versions[]
Ikusautsuwa-no-Oomikami[]
When displaying her Divinity in her Third Ascension, she refers to herself as Tamamo Vitch Koyanskaya Weapon (タマモヴィッチ・コヤンスカヤ・ウェポン?), the Greater Goddess of Weaponry Ikusautsuwa-no-Oomikami (戦器の大御神?), as she homages the culture that originated Tamamo-no-Mae.[1]
Abilities[]
During the events of the South American Lostbelt, Koyanskaya was able to manifest her final Ascension thanks to Kadoc Zemlupus making a temporary contract with her. After gaining access not only to Kadoc's Magical Energy, but Goredolf Musik's and all the equipment in the Shadow Border as well, Koyanskaya becomes a Divine Spirit of the highest order. Tezcatlipoca states that he doesn't see a way of defeating her. Kadoc also claims that if either he or Goredolf walked in to aid her in battle they would just become collateral damage.[7]
Koyanskaya is ultimately defeated by Daybit Sem Void's alien shadows, though she manages to take out a majority of them.[7]
Koyanskaya also admits that Melusine is a natural counter to her shrine. While she plans to repay her for what happened in Fairy Britain with a missile barrage, her maneuvers are so strange that she can't get a lock.[8]
Development[]
Creation and Conception[]
Koyanskaya of Light was designed by Arco Wada in Fate/Grand Order. Her scenario writer is Kinoko Nasu in Fate/Grand Order.
She was first introduced as a Servant on March 31, 2018 during the commercials leading up to the release of the first story chapter of Part 2 of Fate/Grand Order. She was implemented on August 01, 2021, the last of the eight Servants to be released.
