Following Hinako’s second failed attempt to eliminate Chaldea, Li Shuwen suggest releasing the warriors in Mt. Li from cryosleep to counter Chaldea's potential threat. Qin Shi Huang orders him to make it so.[2]
When Li Shuwen arrives at Mt. Li, Shi Huang advises him to not release any warrior that could incite rebellion. If such a thing were to occur, he would not be able observe both the rebels and Chaldea at the same time. As such, he tells Li Shuwen to release a brave warrior of his own choosing, one is not only kind and modest, but will also defend the empire and its people loyally at all costs. The warrior needs to capable of defeating Servants, yet not so powerful that they themselves are unstoppable.[3]
Li Shuwen returns with his choices of Qin Liangyu and Han Xin. With them, he believes the empire's defenses will be absolute.[4]
Later when Koyanskaya tries to escape after Shi Huang calls Daji, Li Shuwen knocks her out with one strike. He expects Vitch saw the Lostbelt as the same China she tormented for her own amusement.[5]
Later, as Chaldea gets closer and closer to Xianyang, Shi Huang permits Li Shuwen to send the imperial guard into battle.[6]
After Chaldea enters Xianyang and kills Liangyu, Shi Huang decides to enter the fray himself. He then releases Li Shuwen and Han Xin from his service. He tells Li Shuwen to keep an eye on Han Xin until the end after the strategist leaves. Li Shuwen leaves after being assured of the emperor's decision.[7]
He later joins Han Xin at the Ministry of Technolgy in fighting Chaldea. After Chaldea leaves in victory, Li Shuwen tells Han Xin to leave before the building collapses. However, the two of them are too exhausted to move. Though he's ashamed to admit it, Li Shuwen admits he began feeling his age at 150 years old, despite Shi Huang's personal instruction in the sage arts. Han Xin tells him he should've entered cryostasis at Mt. Li when he had the chance, instead of staying on active duty. He believes seeing Li Shuwen fight in his prime would be a sight to behold. Li Shuwen supposes he used to threaten his enemies with his martial arts. Then, feeling nostalgic for the days he spent with Shi Huang, Li Shuwen passes away as if sleeping.[8]
Abilities[]
Although the Captain of Qin Shi Huang's Royal Guard is just an ordinary human, he is more than capable of going up against Servants with his bare hands.[8] Even Qin Liangyu, who was considered to be strong enough to defeat Mordred, Spartacus, and Jing Ke where Prince of Lanling couldn't, would be defeated by the Captain should she ever go berserk.[3] His power comes not from his body, but from his pure skill.[8] His extreme profficiency in Kung Fu allowed him to knock out Koyanskaya with one strike.[9] Even if it caught her off guard, he managed to stun her Spirit Core with one blow. As such, Koyanskaya warns Chaldea's servants to don't hold back against him and to not take their eyes off him for a second.[8]
Mordred was surprised that Han Xin and him were able to put up such a fight against so many servants with nothing but strategy and skill. Appart of the difference of numbers, the reason they lost to Chaldea is that the Captain misjudged how much stamina he had halfway through the fight. He thought he could keep up the same pace as when he was younger. Although Qin Shi Huang gave him personal instruction in the Xian Arts, his body began feeling the pass of time by the point he was one hundred and fifty years old. He stayed in active duty for centuries instead of being frozen in Mt.Li like Han Xin or Qin Liangyu. It makes Han Xin wonder how powerful he must have been in his prime.[8]
