Lie Like Vortigern: Eye of a Dream Falling Yonder (彼方とおちる夢の瞳(ライ・ライク・ヴォーティガーン), Kanata to Ochiru Yume no Hitomi(Rai Raiku Vōtigān)^?) is the Noble Phantasm of Oberon Vortigern.

This Noble Phantasm is the true form of Oberon, who was brought into existence by the Fairy Country. He transforms into the evil dragon Vortigern, a "hollow insect" meant to destroy Britain. With his giant blender-like mouth and esophagus (hollow), he swallows the entire world and causes it to fall. Rather than killing the opponent, it is a "path to the underworld" that drops them into an abyss without a single ray of light.

It appears as a living organism, but lacks muscles, bones, and digestive organs. Even its "mouth" is not an actual mouth, as it is a "hole". Oberon can exist separately from his "Insect of the Abyss" form. He is unsure, though, which one of them is the real one and which is the shadow.

The body of the "Insect of the Abyss" is infinite, and anything it swallows falls for all eternity. Things are not sucked into it, but rather space itself "falls in" to the hole, as will all things on the earth including the planet itself. Once something is swallowed, "entrance" and "exit" cease to exist. Nothing can escape, no matter how strong they are, how great of an existence it is or how fast they move to where they fell in, as long as Oberon isn't killed. But in the Abyss, everyone is in a "sinking dream", and while they're asleep, they have no form. Also, because it is a "space that can never be observed by Proper Human History", there isn't the slightest record of Heroic Spirits within it, so summoning them is an impossibility. Artoria Avalon, however, was able to revert these effects with her mere presence, and is able to be summoned due to both her prior contract with Ritsuka Fujimaru and because she is the conceptual manifestation of the 'Knight of the Holy Sword'. As such, so long as the battle is one to save the world, then even at the end of time she shall be summoned to the Master's hands. For the Vortigern, the Holy Sword is both food and poison; a double-edged sword that can cause wounds to his spiritual core that will prevent the Insect of the Abyss from climbing back up, leaving him to fall towards the nonexistent abyss for eternity.

When Oberon is defeated, the "Insect of the Abyss" starts to collapse and lose all connection to the outside world, so Chaldea tries to escape before that happens. However, because the hole is infinite, escape is impossible regardless of their speed. Sherlock Holmes described it as worse than a black hole. Black holes are pits of gravitational attraction that even light can’t escape, but an exit still exists, so with a navigational leap, escape is still technically possible. The Abyss is the opposite, however, so no matter how advanced the means of transport that humanity possesses or creates are, it cannot be escaped from. Chaldea instead plans to make an 'exit' in the abyss using its weaponry to briefly overturn the concept of a 'void'. Chaldea was only able to escape thanks to Albion's Remnant hitting the "Insect of the Abyss" with a heat ray, overturning the void and creating an exit to the outside.

It was the true source of the Collapse that threatened total extinction and prompted Chaldea to launch an immediate and previously unnecessary mission to the British Lostbelt. According to observations of the Planet's surface by the Paper Moon and predicative outcomes from SHEBA, if the Lostbelt was to disappear after 24 hours, a wave of destruction would spread across the Earth. The planet would reach the end of its lifespan and become unable to withstand its own gravitational pull. It is a "dead end for humanity", one that supersedes the "bad end for humanity" that wiped the Earth clean. Although Cernunnos wanted the Fairies punished, he didn't want them to all be destroyed; even after betrayal and in death, he is still a protector of fairies. To that end, until Cernunnos was destroyed completely, his very existence prevents the Insect of the Abyss from achieving their full power and destroying Fairy Britain and causing the Collapse: an event that would cause high levels of magical energy pollution throughout Britain that cause all who touch it to lose their sense of self and go insane while rotting their body away. The Collapse would then lead to both vast numbers of Moss rising from the Great Pit, from the Insect, and a rapid-rise in Fairies and Humans being suddenly afflicted with Moss-sickness. Gravitational fluctuations, akin U-Olga Marie's psuedo-black hole, will strike at the heart of Britain, the Great Pit that is an entirely separate dimension like a bottomless pit of curses, and create a unobservable darkness akin to the darkest, abyssal depths, before gravity stops working entirely, causing the island to rise like its going crash down, before going on to destroy Proper Human History.

A Conceptual Insect, an infinite hole that would consume the whole planet from the inside out. Merlin doubted that the Alien God could even stop it. Cernunnos's priestess also prophesied about it before she was dismembered, her prophecy being recorded as the mural titled the 'Insect of the Abyss".

As it embodies the concept of a hole, it exists everywhere there is one. But it will never manifest in Proper Human History as vicious as it was in the Lost World.
