Ainnash

Ainnash (アイナッシェ, Ainasshe?, also romanized as Einnashe) is the former seventh of The Twenty-seven Dead Apostle Ancestors before being slain by Arcueid Brunestud and being replaced by the Forest of Ainnash. He was a magus who transformed himself into a Dead Apostle. He was a specialist in hypnotism able to use his Reality Marble, which allowed for "memory remodeling", to manipulate the memories of everyone he encountered, including Arcueid Brunestud, with such precision to make them entirely forget his existence. The suggestions worked on the basis of "understanding", having told her "There is no Dead Apostle Ainnash", so Len's master was able to dive into Arcueid's subconscious to make the order impossible to recall, allowing the information on Ainnash to resurface. Arcueid killed Ainnash and his entire clan, and she carelessly left his body under a bloodsucking tree, which accidentally sucked the Dead Apostle's blood over time and transformed the entire forest into a Phantasmal Species, the second generation of the vampire Ainnash.[57]

Eins

Eins (アインス, Ainsu?) is an agent of the Church sent to follow Ciel in subduing the Forest of Ainnash. He is over fifty years old. Merem Solomon shows up instead, claiming that he ate Eins. He is the captain of a ghost ship, and he possesses a Reality Marble of unknown nature called Parade (パレード?).[58] He enjoys obtaining blood from young boys. He is on bad terms with fellow Ancestors, Rita Rozay-en and Van-Fem, the latter due to having one of his castles destroyed by Parade during a previous battle between the two.

He taught martial arts to Miyako Arima, and has the same voice with Shiki Nanaya. He later makes an appearance in Carnival Phantasm, as one of the characters sitting in the background. He appears unmasked at the time but is too small to be identified.

Narbareck (Ancestor)

Narbareck (ナルバレック, Narubarekku?) is the ancestor of Narbareck. She was the co-founder of the Agency along with Michael Roa Valdamjong, and each director since then has always been one of her descendants.[59] She knew of Roa's intentions to become a Dead Apostle in pursuit of his immortality, but said she would be unwilling to leave the Church and could not live with him. Despite the Burial Agency's goals of hunting heretics, she showed no plans to stop Roa's transformation, even going to say that she would tell her own child, "After around a hundred years, another newcomer Dead Apostle will appear. It is pointless to take notice of him, so ignore him." He then explained that would be unnecessary because the strongest True Ancestor sucking his blood would quickly turn him into the strongest Dead Apostle.[60]

Rita Rozay-en

Rita Rozay-en (リタ・ロズィーアン?), known as Self-styled: The Artist's Lady (自称、芸術家のお嬢様?), is a typical high-class vampire with a liking for artistry. She is the successor of her parent vampire, having inherited their castle, where she takes a nightly blood bath. She is known for her arrogance, and for doing whatever she pleases. Possibly due to a crooked personality, she is never satisfied with her actions. She holds an odd friendship with Sumire; they have sworn to die by each other's hands.[61]

Rizo-Waal Strout

Rizo-Waal Strout (リィゾ=バール・シュトラウト?), also known as Black Knight Strout (黒騎士シュトラウト?), is one of the oldest three Dead Apostles and is one of Altrouge Brunestud's bodyguards. He owes his immortality to a time curse and he wields a demonic sword named True Demon Neardark He is thought to be "invincible" due to his "curse of time". Kagetsu Tohya mentions him being Shiki Tohno's rival in a potential Tsukihime 2.[62]

Stanrobe Calhin

Stanrobe Calhin (スタンローブ・カルハイン?), the Stantia:the First Wraith (第一の亡霊(スタンティア)?), is an Ancestor who still exists as a ghost after being destroyed by the Church. He still retains his immense destructive power that allowed him to destroy everyone and everything related to him and earned him the nicknames Duke of Predation (捕食公爵?) and City Devourer (街食うモノ?). He will continue to exist for at least two hundred years before his existence dissipates completely. His "annoying qualities" cannot be matched by anyone, and Aoko Aozaki mentions that he would be attracted to the ritual performed by Dust of Osiris.[63]

Sumire

Sumire (スミレ?), also known as the Water Bottle (ウォーター・ボトル?) and Sumire the Water Demon (水魔スミレ?), is a vampire who lives underwater. She has conquered the traditional vampire weakness of being unable to cross bodies of water, though it has also made her weaker on land. She is very strong, being the only Dead Apostle able to use Marble Phantasm and to teleport, though she is considered to be inept due to excessive drinking. She looks like a big sister who easily gets drunk and although she has a castle, nothing is in there. She is a natural pessimist, but she is capable of enjoying most any activity. She is on good terms with Rita Rozay-en, and they share a pact to kill each other. In a possible Tsukihime 2, she would have the role of a drunkard that gets in Shiki's way.[64]

The Dark Six

The Dark Six is the Original Dead Apostle (最初の死徒?) known as the Six Royalties of the Dark (闇色の六王権?) and the First and Highest System (最古にして最高のシステム, saiko ni shite saikou no system?). It has not reached one-hundred percent completion and it is currently regenerating.[65] It is supposed to bring all Dead Apostles together once it awakens in the Aylesbury ritual.

Prince of Arishima

The Prince of Arishima (アリシマの君, Arishima no Kimi?) is an unnamed suitor seeking marriage with the Storyteller Girl due to the island she inhabits being the "hope of humanity." As with the previous fifteen suitors, he is given an impossible task used to define her view of love, so he leaves angrily without even attempting it. Even more impossible than normal, she asks for a fish from the Moon that obviously does not exist, and it would involve taking the one-way journey to the Moon without a method of return. She justifies it in that him showing up on a full moon without any tact makes it his fault. He is more humble towards the rejection in the manga adaptation, understanding that she has her own circumstances. He envies the peacefulness of the island, wishing that the world could reflect it.

Sui

An ordinary student NPC you find in front of the caretaker’s office where Jinako has holed herself up.
He is good at imitating people... well maybe it’s better to say that imitation is his life. He has the rather odd ability to completely take up the role of characters from movies he has recently watched. This is why his lines, behavior, and mannerisms change from chapter to chapter. From chapter 5 onwards he disappears. The reason for this is explained by the NPC found in front of the school store.

A Christian sister who works at the church under the authority of the Holy Church in Trifas. She is completely unrelated to the Church’s Executors or the Assembly of the Eighth Sacrament, and was merely ordered, “For now, watch over the situation of this town”. She never investigated matters unnecessarily, simply ignoring the existence of the magi in town and passing several decades there in an unconcerned manner.
Naturally, she isn’t able to get excited and passionate at her age… Just when she thought that, she received a shock from the girl who appeared before her suddenly. When Alma first saw her, she realized with a glance that she was the esteemed saint Jeanne d’Arc and almost fainted.

  4. [v] Fate/complete material III: World material - Theory of Magic - The two great forces in the Thaumaturgy world: Mage's Association, p.051

“Clock Tower”, the Highest Institute of Magic
The Clock Tower, the core of the Association and in fact what could also be said to be the Association itself, is based in the British museum of London. Magi from all over the world gather and devote themselves day and night to the study of magic, while at the same time, are busily tripping over and being tripped over by other factions and competing for power and budget. The organization is anything but harmonious and has a complicated bizarre structure, but the magical research there is without doubt the leading edge.

Below the building, there is the magi’s research area which includes studies and archives. It is only a venerable museum to normal people of course, but at the deepest part, there is a special area (prison?) called the “Bottom of the Bridge” where the Association confines many sealing designated magi deemed to be “dangerous because their talents were too outstanding.” Also, apparently the Gazamy the “Evil Spook”, treated as the number one disaster in the Association, is locked up at the bottom of the London tower.

The person of highest position in the Clock Tower, the “Director” has been the same person for the 2000 years since the founding of the organization, and because of this is thought to be something more than human.

The organization handling patents relating to magic is also the Clock Tower, and the current finances of the Tohsaka family is being by covered by the patent royalties that are being transferred to their account.

    Ranks of Magi
A magus is given a “rank” that matches his ability. The highest is said to be Crown (Grand), but details on it are unknown. Note that Lord El-melloi II, lecturer at the Clock Tower who has produced many Grands among his pupils, is stuck in the mediocre “fourth rank” for some reason.

    Color ranks
Separate from the normal ranks, color-based titles are given to those that have become special.
The highest are red, blue, and yellow based on the three primary colors. After that, there are the combined colors of orange, purple, green, black, and so on. The further down you go, the less your rank is. Note that there is no rule about only one person for each color. The Association will, without any stinginess, award a color to you if you’re a magus of great stature or one with an unusual talent.

    Sealing Designation Enforcers
If you receive a “sealing designation”, you will be confined and even your magic research will be gone, not to mention your freedom. Thus, the person given that designation will of course desperately resist that and won’t stop fighting. To forcefully retrieve magi who were qualified enough to be given a sealing designation, the Association dispatches “Enforcers.” There are around 30 of them total, and Bazett is one of them.

Lords, consuming their time in power struggles
In the Magic Association, no rather, the Clock Tower, there are a number of families that hold sway. They are called Lords and are the objects of fear. There are three major families of Lords and about 20 families of relatives. These families are well-known even in normal society. The history of one family is at shortest 500 years and the longest is over 2000 years. They have been plotting and plotting since a staggeringly long past.

The Sea of Estray, together with the Atlas Institute, is an organization called the original form of the Magic Association.
Among the founders of the Magic Association, there had been many heretical magi who were exiled from the Sea of Estray and the Atlas Institute and had no place left to go.
The base of the Sea of Estray is in Northern Europe. This base, with the nickname of the Moving Stone Coffin, is itself a moving mountain range. Normally it is wandering at sea as its name suggests, but sometimes it comes up on dry land.
It seems they research mainly body alteration, but the specifics are unknown.

    *What is an alchemist?
One who studies the flow of matter. That is what an alchemist is. The alchemists of the Clock Tower created products like the homunculi of the Einzbern by merging with western magery.
However, the ultimate goal of the alchemists of the Atlas Institute is set even closer to the original ideology, as the "transformation of events". The often spoke-up "transformation of base metal to gold" in alchemy is, to the members of the Atlas Institute, mere "transformation of matter" and is nothing more than a primitive art far removed from their ideals. Their alchemy is an advancement of the metallurgy of ancient Egypt, the root of the discipline, and has not been influenced by western magery like the alchemy that the Clock Tower magi handle.

[v] Fate/complete material III: World Material - Theory of Magic - Magecraft: Family lineage of Magus, p.046

    Family lineage of Magus
A magus lineage refers to the Magic Crest relay that passes down a Magic Crest through unilineal succession. Because this “relay” is so important, even if a family’s biological lineage has ceased, the magus lineage will be considered continuous if the crest is engraved onto somebody else’s body. Conversely, if the Magic Crest itself is lost, that magus lineage will be considered to have been severed even if a child with Magic Circuits still lives. Under normal circumstances, a magus selects the best qualified heir from within the family, and gradually passes on the Magic Crest to the successor.
The chosen successor to a magus lineage undergoes harsh training from a young age. Because an abnormal mindset and body are required to use magic, the training to instill these qualities is extremely severe, and it is not unusual to employ inhumane measures such as brainwashing and bodily modification. Thus, as the heir matures he or she inherits the lineage’s magic, knowledge, and research. Finally, a new master is born when the entirety of the Magic Crest is passed down from the predecessor.

Increasing the number of Magic Circuits
Magic Circuits are organs that one is born with, so there is no way to increase their number after birth. There are ways to transfer circuits, but it is rarely done because the success rate is low. Therefore, magus lineages will modify the parents’ bodies or take every measure possible at the moment of a child’s birth to create a successor with even one additional Magic Circuit. Therefore, the children of older lineages tend to have more Magic Circuits.

    Inherited Magic Crests
Magic Crests are heirlooms within which the entirety of a lineage’s research is inscribed, from the first ancestor to the present. The crest contains the regrets of previous family heads’ inability to master their magic. A Magic Crest with a long history is a cursed crystallization impregnated with the feelings of countless preceding magi.

    The Tohsaka family
Rin is the heir to the Tohsaka family, while Sakura was adopted by the Matou family as a successor. Because Tohsaka Tokiomi, the family head, died in the Holy Grail War, Rin inherited Tokiomi’s estate, including his magical patents, businesses in Fuyuki, and other assets. However, at this point most of Tokiomi’s magic crest had not yet been transferred to Rin. Tokiomi’s crest was extracted from his body by the Clock Tower, and given to Tokiomi’s next of kin to be transplanted into Rin.

    Magic [Miracle]
A mystery distinct from magecraft. The final destination of magi.
"Magic" is that which makes the impossible into the possible, for a given era. A "result" which can be realized with the application of time and effort is not magic.
In the past, when civilization was young, most magi were also magicians, but currently only five remain.
…Well, that's what they say, but there are actually only four still alive.
The magician that handled the First magic already died a long, long time ago.
Of the remaining four, two have disappeared, and two are bothersome people that pop up all over the place leaving trouble in their wake.

[v] Fate/complete material III: World material - Theory of Magic - Magecraft: "Magic" making the impossible possible, p.048

    "Magic" making the impossible possible
True Magic. This is a different mystery than magery. Magi call the events that are unachievable by magery and science in that age True Magic. If that event could be achieved by time and resources, then no matter the difficulty, that event will not be seen as True Magic.
When the civilization of mankind was still young, all magery had been True Magic. But along with the advancement of science, the number of things that "could be done" by people had increased, and in exchange, True Magic diminished. The number of remaining "True Magics" in the modern era are extremely few, only 5. In "Fate/stay night", the achievement of one of these, the "Third True Magic", occupied the portion of the Grail War that could also be said to be its base.
All magi strive to arrive at "True Magic". Even if they can't reach it, the next generation will. Even the next generation can't reach it, then the one after....and like that, thus was weaved the history of trial and error of magery.

    True Magic
    Explanation
First True Magic One of the oldest True Magics but the details about it are unknown. What it involves appears to be common knowledge to some magi of privileged rank. The user of the First has already passed away, but it is said that the person that would be his heir is still alive, barely.
Second True Magic The True Magic that observes the infinite parallel worlds and travels between alternative worlds. Its user is Kischur Zelretch Schweinorg. With this magic, this man was able to create a jewel sword to absorb mana from the other worlds and a box that could store an immense amount of objects.
Third True Magic Materialization of the soul, in other words, the magic that realizes true immortality. When accomplished, the practitioner will acquire an unlimited source of magical energy due to the soul becoming analogous to a perpetual motion machine. This is the Magic of the Einzbern lineage, and the Holy Grail War was established to acquire this Magic.
Fourth True Magic Like the First True Magic, the details about it are unknown. What it involves hasn't been heard of either. But, the currently existing wizards, when pointing out to the Fourth True Magic, they'll all say "it is there for sure", and will agree that it exists. Also, they don't know the name of the user either.
Fifth True Magic The True Magic that the Traveling Magician Aozaki Aoko inherited from her grandfather. Its nickname is "Magic Blue." The user Aozaki Aoko is average as a magus but displays transcendence with destruction. Because of this trait, there is a rumor that "Magic Blue" is also a True Magic involving destruction.

    •The Five Magicians
There are five True Magics left in the current age. Those who use them are called "Magicians". The user of the First Magic, the oldest True Magic, is said to be dead, so the ones that are "still alive" are four. Let's say that "what had been possible only by True Magic" then becomes achievable by developments in magery or scientific technology. True Magic will be lowered to a mere "craft". Many True Magics were lost from the world like that. Then, can the power of "True Magic" only fade out hereon? No. The arrival of magi at existing or as of yet uncharted new Magic can allow new True Magic to be born and the numbers to be increased. Needless to say, this is far more difficult than a camel passing through the eye of a needle and finding one speck of a jewel in a desert. However, it's not impossible. The existence of the Wizards is proof of that. Thus, magi strive for the heights of True Magic. Believing they will one day reach the stars in the skies with their own hands, they continue dedicating themselves to their studies daily.

•Death of True Magic, Death of a Magician
A Magician, just like a magus, has a long life. If one uses life-prolonging magic, it wouldn't be impossible to live a few hundred, a few thousand years either. But, the "end" will come for sure. Then, would the death of a Magician mean the death of the True Magic he uses? No, it would not. True Magic will be passed on to the inheritor of the next generation and will not disappear. If True Magic were to die, it would only be when it could be realized by normal means.

    High Level AI [Circumstances]
These are artificial lifeforms created in order to allow the holy Grail War to proceed smoothly.
They may seem the same as NPCs because they are manufactured beings, but High Level AI have firmly defined liberties and personalities, and they also are bestowed with a soul.
Due to the high cost of manufacturing High Level AI, they are not reset even after a Holy Grail War has finished.
They make an appearance filling standard character roles in each Holy Grail War.
    High Level AI include:
Father Kotomine, whose duty is to supervise the Masters.
Sakura, whose duty is to manage and maintain the Masters’ health.
Disciplinary Chairperson, who keeps an eye out for bad conduct within the school.
Ms. Taiga, who directs the schedule each day.
    The mysterious black panther Makiji.
    ...and more.

The group of High Level AI also seems to include Sister Karen Caren, whose jurisdiction is carrying out the punishment of Masters, however she doesn’t seem to make an appearance in the Holy Grail War that the protagonist participated in.
Also, the memories that the High Level AI have obtained are unable to be deleted by themselves. No matter how sad and depressing a memory may be they are forced to keep it with them forever, and of course submitting their memories to Moon Cell is the reason that they exist.

    Rho Aias [Noble Phantasm]
The Seven Rings that Cover the Fiery Heavens.
In Greek mythology, the shield used by the hero Aias during the Trojan War.
It was a bronze shield covered by seven layers of ox hide, and the only thing that proved capable of stopping the javelin of the great hero of Troy, Hector. (Though it managed to penetrate six layers of ox hide, the seventh layer was unbroken.)
Afterward, its fame spread, and its existence was eventually sublimed into a "conceptual armament" boasting absolute defensive power against thrown weapons.
It is the only defensive armament Archer can use proficiently.
The Rho Aias that protected Shirou's spellcasting during the finale of the Rin route was not something he projected himself, but was actually made by Archer who was watching the battle from a distance.

The world’s sole and greatest consulting detective.
The crystallization of the concept of detective; the representative of “those who reveal”.
The protagonist of the stories that Sir Arthur Conan Doyle wrote in the 19th~20th Century, he is a detective who explains all enigmas and one of the ancestors of the “detectives” that appear on the many mystery novels of later years—--
    Or so it is assumed.
But what is really the truth?

    Level 1 Bond
    Height/Weight: 183cm・65kg
    Source: Sherlock Holmes Series
    Region: England, the whole world
    Alignment: Neutral Good Gender: Male
For argument’s sake, if he was really originated from the stories, then there is a possibility of not only Doyle’s novels but also its pastiches having been included... according to the Chaldea staff’s gossips.

    Level 2 Bond
Thoughtful and yet dynamic. Bold and yet precise.
And also a calm, level-headed man.
No sort of enigma, crime and conspiracy can escape Holmes’ sight. Be that a fearsome murderer, an ancient curse, a monster of the dark night or a supranational secret society; he shall disclose them all--- and defeat them if necessary. By means of a sharp sword called truth.

That way of being has already exceeded the realms of men, and is already the embodiment of a “wise one”, “one who reveals”.

    Level 3 Bond

    • Innate Discernment: A++

The ability to perceive the true nature of things. His sharp eyes for observation will not overlook any sort of information. Although their principles are completely different, this can read into the future in a way that is similar to the future prediction of Clairvoyance.

    • Baritsu: B++

Learned an Oriental martial arts that is extremely real combat-oriented.
Other than employing striking techniques that combine this skill with boxing, Sherlock Holmes also have counters and grappling throws as his forte.
If the conditions are right, he can even employ a special move that is in par with the release of True Name of a Noble Phantasm, but...

    Level 4 Bond
"This is an Elementary Matter, My Friend"
    Rank: B Type: Anti-Unit/Anti-World
    Elementary, My Dear.
The Noble Phantasm that Sherlock Holmes acquired upon manifesting as a Servant. His Origin - “Elucidation” - sublimated as a Noble Phantasm.
Even if the enigma he faces is truly an existence that cannot be explained, clues and paths for reaching the truth will always “appear”.
Even if there was a treasure chest whose key has been lost, said key will turn out to be “not lost”, and would certainly be possible to locate it somewhere in the world.
(However, as expected, it will not suddenly appear in his hands. Either Holmes or his collaborators must find it, wherever it may be).

    Level 5 Bond
Originally a constantly active-type of Noble Phantasm, but release of True Name is performed in “Fate/GO”.
Upon release of True Name, an unidentified “sphere” appears, emitting a dazzling light on the surroundings. It weakens the enemy camp and strengthens the ally camp. Even an against an unbeatable opponent, Holmes will discover a path to defeat him.

Also, its True Name is one of the famous words associated with Holmes, yet the first instance in which it was attributed to him was not on Doyle’s novels, but actually the stage play produced・scripted・starred by William Gillette. It has been said that Doyle praised the Holmes played by Gillete as “surpassing my novels”.
Incidentally, the common assumption is that Gillete conceived it based on Holmes’ “elementary” remark towards Watson from Doyle’s short story - “The Adventure of the Crooked Man”.

    Interlude
Heroic Spirit Holmes is the fake resemblance of Dr. Joseph Bell (his model), Doyle himself, and the world oldest detective, Vidocq---
Not. He manifest as the protagonist of a novel series (or so we are lead to believe by his behavior).

In the end, is the story of Sherlock Holmes a literary creation invented by Sir Doyle, or something written down by Dr. John H. Watson as a romantic tale about the real Holmes, or maybe even a blend between these two?
At the very least, Holmes himself should know this. But he never speaks of it himself, and constantly evades the subject whenever it comes up.

    Archer of “Black” [Servant]
One of the Servants of the Black camp. His true name is Chiron. He is a centaur—a half-human-half-horse race, and he is a famous great sage in Greek myth.
He has a calm and gentle personality, but though he treats his Master with respect, he won’t hold back on advice if it’s for the sake of his Master. He never scorns or despises others regardless of whether they are enemy or ally, and he is exceptionally calm among the intense and passionate heroes of Greek myth. He acted as the strategist of the Black camp and continued to support his camp day and night right until he took part in the final battle.
Usually, centaurs are considered both as great huntsmen who effortlessly use bows and arrows while running with their horse legs and as savage monsters who would steal anything and everything. It seems Chiron alone is regarded as a “sage” that stands out as an exception among them.
Chiron was born from Cronus, father of the head god Zeus, and Philyra, the goddess of a certain island. However, because Cronus had copulated with her while she was turned her into a horse, Chiron was born as a half-human-half-horse centaur. (There is also the theory that they were attacked by Cronus’ wife Rhea while they were in the middle of copulating and Philyra turned into a stallion in order to run away.) Balking at the idea of giving milk to a monster like Chiron, Philyra changed her form into that of a linden tree.
Though he was never loved by his mother and father, Chiron became a sage that excelled in all forms of knowledge as he grew up. This is not necessarily unrelated to the fact that his mother’s name “Philyra” means linden tree. The leaves of linden trees can be used as restoratives, and the tree bark can be used in divination or as written boards.
After becoming an adult, Chiron began to rear the “future heroes” who implored for his tutelage from all over Greece. Besides Heracles and Achilles, the heroes who received his teaching include those like Asclepius, who later became the god of medicine, and Castor, who was sublimated as the Gemini constellation. Jason, the leader of the Argonauts who enticed Medea, is also one of his students.
On a certain day, someone shot a poison arrow at him while trying to stop a dispute between centaurs, and the poison continued to endlessly make him suffer due to his immortality, until he became the Sagittarius constellation by returning his immortality to the gods and finally received salvation. His wish for the Holy Grail while participating in the Holy Grail War is to regain his immortality. To him, it is the only gift he received from his parents.
As a Servant, his stats have received a slight rank down due to giving up his immortality and transforming his legs into those of a human, but even then he boasts of specks high enough for him to be called a first-rate Servant—to an extremely abnormal extent in a certain sense. In the first place, it appears that he taught not only swordsmanship, archery and horse-riding, but also wrestling techniques, so he is relatively experienced in moving with human feet.
With the combined effects of his skills, he can even utilize a pseudo-form of future sight, making him truly all-purpose in his abilities. If he has a weakness, it is that he lacks a decisive trump card. Against the brute force approach that throws away all wisdom or intelligence, his strong points fade away.
He deeply loves how weak and insufficient humans struggle despite their insufficiency and still try to move forward, so even if he was summoned as part of the Red camp, he would have definitely rebelled against them with the resolve to die.
Though if he were to describe it himself, he would merely answer, “This is my arrogance as a teacher, as embarrassing as it is”.
In the novels, he was mainly focused on his fight with Achilles outside of his light skirmish with Mordred. After all, Chiron was the only one capable of harming Achilles. That battle was such a great joy to him that he even forgot his true nature as a Servant, but he stood back up as a Servant again at the moment of his death and accurately dealt a fatal wound to Achilles.

    David
    King of Israel
David is based on the king of ancient Israel who appears in the Old Testament. Placing his duty as an agent of God first and foremost, he possesses the strength of will to maintain an extreme calm in the face of utter desperation, clear-mindedly evaluating his situation in a realistic manner. To his view, "All humans upon this earth have a place within God's plan," and should be regarded with appropriate respect. Typical of many heroes, however, he has a weakness for women with nice bodies, occasionally muttering, "I wish to take a wife for myself ..." Though he is considered an unparalleled genius in his talent with a harp, he possesses little skill in dancing. However, he favors both as his pastimes.

    Legend
As a shepherd, he was told by the prophet Samuel that he had been given a special role from God. He is famous for episodes such as performing with a harp in front of Saul, king of Israel, to exorcise him from an evil spirit, and defeating the Philistine giant Goliath. Saul soon became jealous of David's glory in battle, and he became the target of assassination attempts. However, after Saul dies in battle with the Philistines, David ascends the throne and conquers Jerusalem. David's only disgrace is his disregarding the law to pursue the married woman Bathsheba. He murders his vassal to obtain her, and he endures God's punishment for it in his last years.

    Skills

    • Divine Protection

The form and flesh of a man prophecized to be king, bearing the quick-wittedness and brute strength to defeat beasts unaided. Though he has been resurrected by the power of the Grail, Servant does not regard himself as a vessel to the soul of his original -- merely as an instrument of God. He does not terribly mind this existence, content merely to feel the grace of his Lord.

    • Harp Performance

In life, the Servant is said to have exorcized evil spirits on the behalf of King Saul of Israel with use of his harp alone. His skill with the instrument is such that he is capable of purging mental interference and restoring psychological stability to those who listen to his music. However, the accuracy of projectiles and polearms suffer a large Rank Down within hearing range. The Servant's act of exorcism may have a modern analogue in musical therapy.

    • Divinity

Though the Servant was originally a mere shepherd in life, as an ancestor of Christ, he qualified weakly as a being of divine nature -- perhaps equivalent in rank to Joseph of Nazareth. He possesses some defense against the action of conceptual relics and Noble Phantasms based in the divinity of Christ (though not those based in the divinity of God) -- for example, "holy shrouds," "the stakes of the Crucifixion," and "the Lancea Longini"; possibly even "the Holy Grail."

    • Charisma

A prodigy of military tactics and command in life, the Servant called to arms a force of 320 thousand men to seize the city of Jerusalem. For the long path of bloodshed that he wrought as a military leader, he later deemed to seek the forgiveness of God by building a place of worship in his capital. (Due to certain circumstances, it was not built until the reign of his son, Solomon.)

    Noble Phantasms

    • Hamesh Avanim: The Five Stones

The slingshot that defeated the giant Goliath. A Noble Phantasm that consists of five decorated stones bound by the line of a sling, normally carried behind the Servant's waist. Hamesh Avanim expresses David's generosity: As projectiles, the first four stones are used as warning shots as the Servant attempts to persuade his opponent to lay down arms. If said opponent fails to comply, the fifth stone may be launched -- a rapid, nonlethal attack that is extremely difficult to evade. Normal Heroic Spirits are rendered unconscious on impact, and their belongings are "redesignated" to the possession of the user of the Hamesh Avanim; that is, even if they take hold of their former Noble Phantasms, usage is disallowed by divine authority. The sling itself is the true Hamesh Avanim, and the five projectiles are merely normal stones that have undergone transfiguration; they may be unendingly replenished.

    • Sacrifice: Flames Upon the Altar

The "flame that carries the hottest heat, shinning brightly, which flared up by God's commands" which appears in the Book of Numbers of the Old Testament. A phantasmal incense burner in deactivation. Ketoret is burned within, and when the violet fumes that issue have enveloped the target, thunderclouds and mist gather overhead -- giving the impression of Mount Sinai; from them, a fire descends from the heavens, incinerating without a trace all those who would oppose the will of God. The flames are shaped like an altar.

    • Ark: The Chest of the Covenant

A wooden box that contains the original engravings of the Ten Commandments issued to Moses by God. As a Noble Phantasm, its effect is narrow but absolute; besides the Servant that carries them, all those who would deem to touch the box without authorization are drained of their magical energy unto death. Upon seizure of Jerusalem and the removal of the Philistines, King David of Israel appointed the city as his capital, and situated within it the Ark of the Covenant.

    01 - Character Background
    "A nursery rhyme is a children's refrain,
    Tom Thumb's charming picture book,
The first glimpse of Mother Goose's awakening,
The sorrowful me to the lonely you,
Your final wish, let's make it true."

    02 - "Nursery Rhyme"
Nursery Rhyme is not a hero in the traditional sense. Rather, it is a general term for any picture book that has managed to manifest itself into a corporeal existence.

The genre itself, deeply loved by the children of England, came into being as a reaction to the half-voiced dreams of the young and eventually emerged as a Servant who came a champion of the innocent. It formed the foundation for perhaps the best known work from the author known as Lewis Carroll. His book "Alice in Wonderland" began as a series of simple rhymes told to the daughters of a family friend while rowing down the River Thames on a warm summer's day.

The Servant Nursery Rhyme is actually a type of Reality Marble. It projects the true feelings of its Master and creates a pseudo-servant in a form imagined by the one who summoned it.

  37. [v] Fate/EXTRA material - Encyclopedia: Archer (Green) [Servant], p.152-154 [T]

    Archer (Green) [Servant]
Green Archer is a Servant who the protagonist fights in the second round.
    His Master is Dan Blackmore.
He is a sniper whose body is hidden in a green cloak. In order to avoid confusion with the red-cloaked Archer, he is sometimes called Ryokucha.
His true name is Robin Hood, Hunter of the Forest.
It’s important to note that he is not the Robin Hood you know from popular legend. Instead Green Archer is a chivalrous robber based on the original Robin Hood.
The original Robin Hood was a troublemaking orphan who lived alone on the outskirts of a village. In a twist of fate he became involved in an ordeal with some of the Lord’s soldiers who came around town for tax collection.
The Lord had recently succeeded as head of the family, and he was taking the opportunity to raise taxes to the point where he was essentially telling the villagers to starve to death.
The villagers lacked both the desire and the power to go against the Lord.
So Robin didn’t try to rally the villagers, and instead cast himself as a protector of the forest who would punish any who violated it. He drove off the soldiers using this as his excuse. From then on he kept his identity hidden and continued to fight the Lord. Eventually he became known amongst the villagers as The Green Man.
Traps, surprise attacks, and foul play formed the core of Robin Hood’s tactics, so as a Servant he generally avoids head on confrontation.
He tries to lure his prey into the forest, which is his true territory.
“You could never call my territory a “nice forest.” Complete preparation. An overwhelming network of tricks and traps. A place for the weak to shoot and bring down stronger foe. That’s my Sherwood Forest.”
His trump card is poison obtained from plants in the forest. Actually both Green Archer and Cas-ko are poison users.

Robin Hood appears in “The Tale of Robin Hood” and is a chivalrous robber that lurks in Sherwood forest. Depicted as a hero of justice that fights against the Tyrant King John Lackland, he is a character born from a fusion of Greek myths about Orion, Celtic myths about fairies, and Druid beliefs.
There was a real person after whom he was modeled; however the model is also thought to be the result of a mix of multiple people. From the 16th century onwards he was thought to be someone who lived in the time of King Lionheart.
His true identity is veiled, however there was certainly someone who he originated from. That someone was a hero who fought not for themselves, but for the benefit of other people. But then, after death, they were destined to be forgotten. (If you look at it from this perspective, both Red and Green Archers share similar personalities.) [TL NOTE: Here personality was expressly written in katakana, but it feels like it should probably be “share a similar fate.”]

Robin Hood was handsome enough to make any naive village girl fall for him with a single look. That being said, he was very kind and a rather timid man, so not exactly the perfect lady-killer.
He would often act frivolously to hide his naive fixation on justice. But his creed always puts life over death.

“Pride or idleness are great and all, but it’s all over if you die, right?”

It follows that he held the small-minded desire of just wanting something warm and pleasant to be waiting for him after surviving to the end of the conflict. However it stands that he never managed to achieve this.
To be blunt, he had a childish, ill-tempered perspective of the world. Passing over whatever with a simple “Well I guess that’s the way it is.”
After being hated by the villagers [for the trouble he caused when he was young] he learned to simply go with the flow, and often told himself, “Don’t meddle too deeply in the affairs of others.” Nevertheless he had a love for people and whenever he saw people having fun he would somehow manage to slip himself into the group. He would end up as someone who was less than a friend, but more than a stranger.
His main attribute is virtue, so he loathes evil people, but finds no fault with good people (ordinary people). Although he twists the world around him, he would never sneer at the effort of others, however fruitless it may be.
At the root of his character is his strong sense of shame about his lowly origin.

Robin Hood is summoned as the Servant Archer, and his has poor compatibility with his Master (Dan). Throughout his lifetime he managed to stay alive by employing surprise attacks, assassination, and destructive traps. He was a so-called “Master of Cowardice.” Therefore Dan’s knightly mentality is something of a hindrance to Robin.
When it comes to the Holy Grail War, what effect does this incompatibility have on Robin’s smoldering wish (his desire of the Grail)? To find out, please refer to the game contents.
It must be mentioned that despite being ideologically incompatible with Dan, their personal relationship is rather good. Although Robin can’t follow along with Dan’s knightly mentality, Dan is a man of justice, just like Robin is. As such, Robin reluctantly obeys his orders. His reluctance is not due to prejudice, but rather because they are polar opposites.
Dan is impervious to trickery and deception, so Ryokucha (Green Archer) can’t help but scratch his head, “I wound up with another pain in the ass again.”

Green Archer: “Nitpicking at every little thing isn’t going to defeat our enemies. Oh well I guess it’s fine. I’m used to adversity after all. I’ll follow along obediently without a single complaint.”
Dan: “Archer, just my opinion, but isn’t what you just said generally considered to be a complaint?” Green Archer: “Eh? Ah, yep that’s right. You’ve got me there.”

The old veteran warrior and the young philosophical greenback.
This is the face of the struggle they share.

    Gram. ????
Demonic Sword, Sword of the Sun, Gram.
A demonic sword of ruin and glory that Sigurd, the greatest hero of Northern Europe, possessed in the Volsunga Saga.
It is the model of Caliburn in the legend of King Arthur. As Caliburn was a chosen sword in a stone, Gram was also a chosen sword in the mighty tree of the Volsunga king.
The legend of Gram and its possessor Sigurd is a story filled with glory and ruin, as one would expect from a great hero.
"Der Ring des Nibelungen", composed later in Middle Ages Germany, is the story of a knight equal to the legend of King Artnur, and the sword Gram changes its name and appears in it as Balmung.
As the "strongest demonic sword" equaling the "strongest holy sword", it even possesses the special characteristic of "dragon slayer".

[v] Fate/complete material II: Character material - Weapons: Gram, p.134

    User: Gilgamesh
A sword that appears in the “Völsunga Saga” of Norse mythology. It is wielded by the hero Sigurd. The incident where Sigurd’s father Sigmund pulled Gram from the trunk of a tree later became the model for Caliburn, the sword in the stone. After Sigurd reforged Gram from the shattered pieces, it is said to have become a demonic sword capable even of killing a dragon.

Excalibur’s appearance after being corrupted by evil. Excalibur functions by converting its user’s magical energy into offensive power. Because of this nature as a “sword that amplifies”, when Saber was blackened, Excalibur blackened with her.
In Arthurian legend, King Arthur received Excalibur from Vivian, a fairy of the lake. Just as the fairy Vivian who embodied goodness had her polar opposite in the evil Morgan, so too does Excalibur have the possibility of embodying both good and evil. However, whether Excalibur is filled with good or stained by evil, the fact that it is the strongest holy sword does not change.

Q: So Fujino’s father forcibly induced her insensitivity to pain in order to suppress her power, but why? Didn’t the Asagami family want to pass on unusual abilities to their descendants just like the Ryougi family?

Nasu: That era has long since passed. Though the Ryougis have been very successful economically, the Asagamis have been defunct for quite some time. Probably, Fujino’s father realized that their family no longer had any reason to exist shortly before their collapse. In the modern era, nobody wants people with unusual abilities anymore, so there is no need to pass them on. Rather, they should be eliminated. That’s what he decided.
Takeuchi: But that’s not right at all. If they had opened the Twist Shop FUJINON, they could have taken the world by storm! They’d open stuck-on bottle caps, moonlight as rubber rollers, and make sculptures for the Hakone Open-Air Museum!
Nasu: Hahaha. That’s a pretty niche place to work, huh?

    Nasu: Serious answer: Ryougi Kaname.
    Takeuchi: I got totally ignored!
Nasu: By the way, Utsukushiibitsu was the name of a member of a certain band from the golden age of Visual Kei. It's true. When I remember the way girls at live shows would scream out things like "Kyaaah, Ibitsuuu!" and "Utsukushiii!", almost fainting, I can't help but think Japan isn't that bad after all.

She's not the same Narbareck that was talking to Roa, but it just so happens that the administrator of the Burial Agency is always a member of the same family. The current Narbareck is a homicidal maniac, and has shut herself away in the Burial Agency's executive office.
