Lord LogresWP (ロード・ログレス, Rōdo Roguresu?), Class Name Saber (セイバー, Seibā?), is a Saber-class Servant summoned by Ritsuka Fujimaru during the Grand Orders of Fate/Grand Order. She is summoned as Grand Saber (グランドセイバー, Gurando Seibā?) during the Caster Grand Duel by Pseudepigrapha Solomon to fight with him against Ritsuka Fujimaru.
Profile[]
Identity[]
Although she no longer identifies by a personal name, her True Name remains Artoria Pendragon nonetheless.[1] LogresWP was the name of the lands in Britain ruled by King Arthur, of which Camelot was the capital.[3]
In legend, King Arthur has two faces. One is the King of War who personally galloped across countless battlefields and led them to victory. The other is the King of Culture who never stepped onto the battlefield, dedicating himself solely to the politics of Camelot. King Arthur's nature changed according to the era. [1]
As a successor to Welsh mythology. As a subject matter for spreading chivalric romances. As a figurehead to solidify the reach of Christianity. Rulers of later generations utilized King Arthur's name as the ideal knight, ideal king to reinforce their own national cultures as they saw fit.[1]
King Arthur was not a historical figure (even if there were multiple people who served as models), his very existence was a phantom of the people's making. That ultimate form is Lord Logres. The perfected form of King Arthur, desired not only by King Uther and the Magus Merlin, but by all the people living in Britannia.[1]
Though she is Artoria Pendragon, her nature belongs not to humanity, but to the Elementals. The convergence of the conclusions of the Ritual of the Holy Sword that occurred across countless parallel worlds. While her nature is similar to the Human Order Supplement Device A.A., the base girl does not exist here. When Lord Logres appears, A.A. completes her duty and ceases to function.[1]
Appearance[]
Logres' First Ascension is similar in appearance to that of the Saber Artoria Pendragon, more specifically her Third Ascension. She wears her usual armor with no skirt and appearing slimmer. Her silver armor is replaced with gold, blue cape is replaced with red, a different crown and kingly design.
In her Second Ascension, she wears a white gown and a crown.
Her Third Ascension is near identical to the Saber Artoria Pendragon's Third Ascension, with a more regal and armored design.
Personality[]
A King of the Holy Sword who has reached completion as a ruler. Calm, fair, and deeply thoughtful, she harbors no personal ambition or greed. She approves of the heart that pursues ideals in all people, including herself. However, she does not view the ideals themselves as absolute. In peaceful times, she never loses her temper with anyone, but during battle, she speaks her emotions bravely as a King of War.[1]
First Ascension[]
Artoria as a King of War. Her manner of speech is no-nonsense. An androgynous tone... yet, she has not yet fully become a Lord. This is the tone and personality closest to the standard Artoria. While her tone is basically androgynous, she uses a polite feminine tone when trying to calm herself or others. Because she considers herself a collection of many ifs, the words she speaks tend to be highly objective. Hates to lose.[1]
Second Ascension[]
Artoria as the one who ruled the nation through politics. She took the throne as a woman, without hiding her gender. Essentially, she speaks in a polite feminine tone. Despite her elegant appearance, her bravery remains unchanged. Like Lady Avalon or Artoria Avalon, she does not cut loose or anything of the sort. A perfect lady who leads the nobility, for whom not a single mistake is permitted.[1]
Third Ascension[]
Artoria as the King of Knights. Nearly identical to the First Ascension, but here there is no hesitation or immaturity. She speaks with strength and absolute conviction. Hates to lose. In fact, she absolutely will not let herself be defeated.[1]
Role[]
Fate/Grand Order[]
Final Chapter Prologue[]
Lev Goetia summons Lord Logres to assist him in the Grand Duel against Ritsuka Fujimaru. She disappears after the battle, and when Fujimaru asks for an explanation about who she was, Lev doesn't answer.[5]
Abilities[]
Lev Goetia regards Lord Logres as "the strongest being," claiming that a Mage doesn't need to be the strongest as long as they have the strongest being under their command.[5] Similarly, he regards Lord Logres as his strongest Heroic Spirit, his conclusion,[5] and the strongest Holy Sword user in Human History.[4] However, Lord Logres notes that there might have been some nuance on the latter.[4]
Combat[]
In her First Ascension, she wields a sword that looks like a larger copy of Caliburn, though she exchanges it with Excalibur when activating her Noble Phantasm. Some of her attacks seems to incorporate fiery Mana Burst-like draconic wing and an image of the Red Dragon of Britain. In her second and third Ascensions, her sword takes on aesthetics from her Excalibur, Caliburn, and Excalibur Proto.
Skills[]
Class Skills[]
- Magic Resistance (A Rank): No information avalaible.
- Riding (A Rank): No information avalaible.
- Knight Investiture (A Rank): A royal authority that appoints a mere nameless warrior as a knight. To those who swear to govern the land, protect the people, and support the nation, it grants a trial that is harsh yet rewarding. Those who receive the Knight Order become transcendent knights, said to perform miracles beyond the reach of human hands.[1]
- The Idle King (— Rank): Rex Otiosus. A titular kingship where one is expected neither to go to war nor participate in politics, but simply to exist there as a King. While it is a skill that grants high defensive power as a Ruler at the cost of combat ability, it has been completely lost by this form of King Arthur.
Personal Skills[]
- Finis Dracon (EX Rank): The Final Dragon of Britannia, its incarnation. Inexhaustible magical energy and miracles far beyond human capacity, and the price paid for them.[1]
- Rex Miroir (A Rank): The Great Mirror of Kings. Countless poets, The King of Knights told across countless eras. She can freely browse and reproduce those illusions.[1]
- Ynys Gutrin (— Rank): The Island of Glass. The land where King Arthur slumbers. That is, Avalon. It applies Anti-Purge Defense to herself and elevates an attack performed with her entire soul into a strike that transcends even her own limits. However, after that benefit has passed, she is forced into a long slumber.[1]
Unlisted Skills[]
- Blessing of Utopia (EX Rank): No information avalaible.
- King of Battles (A Rank): No information avalaible.
- Mana Burst (A+ Rank): No information avalaible.
Noble Phantasm[]
Lord Logres' Noble Phantasm is Excalibur Excelsus. A Divine Construct forged in the Inner Sea of the Planet; its original concept and its true output (form) reached at the moment of the end. A Holy Sword intended for use should a Threat to the Planet—not just a Threat to Humanity—descend. The wielder uses their magical core as a catalyst and possesses the function to convert the planet's life force into magical energy. Additionally, it functions as royal authority, temporarily boosting the latent potential of those fighting alongside her to their critical limit.[1]
During the Grand Caster Grand Duel, Lord Logres' Noble Phantasm is an attack performed with her Holy Sword. It summons a Dragon behind her, and delivers a powerful blow to a single target.[5] As a playable servant, this becomes her Extra attack.
Development[]
Creation and Conception[]
Lord Logres was designed by Takashi Takeuchi in Fate/Grand Order.
Lord Logres was planned long before Fate/Grand Order release. Ayako Kawasumi had already recorded the voice for Lord Logres alongside Artoria Pendragon around 12 years before she was implemented. However, there were several updates and re-recordings to adapt to current developments to implement it.[6] In 2015, a Fate/Grand Order datamine listing Servants and their voice actors mentioned a "Grand Saber" voiced by Ayako Kawasumi.
