Maxwell's DemonWP (マックスウェルの悪魔, Makkusuweru no Akuma?), Class Name Caster (キャスター, Kyasutā?), is the Caster-class Servant of the Fuhrer in the Imperial Capital Holy Grail Strange Story of Fate/KOHA-ACE, and the Servant of an unnamed Master in its remake Fate/type Redline. He is the Servant of High Priest Makuzu in Fate/Grand Order.

Maxwell's Demon is a fictional demon created by James Clerk Maxwell as a thought experiment, distorted by the desires of people.
Appearance[]
Caster has short, well groomed orange hair, and is dressed in a tan business suit with a red tie and sunglasses. While his general appearance is unchanged in his appearance in Fate/Grand Order, his colour palette has shifted drastically to light brown hair, a two toned green suit and black tie.
Personality[]
Maxwell, acts and speaks in a calm and polite manner. As a being created from human's dream of infinite energy, his ultimate goal is the creation of a perpetual motion machine. Because of this, he abhors his current Noble Phantasm, regarding it as far from his ideal and so considers it an abomination. Due to that, he is willing to destroy himself in order to take it along with him.

After leaving the Sengoku Singularity, James Clerk Maxwell asks Maxwell's Demon how did it go, only to be answered with another failure. James wonders if it is too soon for humanity to wield the power that he represents. Maxwell's Demon asks why humanity desire infinite energy if they may even begin with good intentions but eventually go mad and fails to their own shortcomings, he asks if humans truly needs infinite energy. James tells him that maybe they don't need it, but to wish for change is an intrinsic part of what makes humans what they are, and James own wish is that everyone to be happy. That is one of the reasons for why James created the demon capable of granting humanity's wishes.
Maxwell's Demon says that he isn't much since he never granted a single wish yet. James tells him to not worry about it, since there is more to mathematics than just finding answers, like devising equations and providing it to others. The Demon asks if what people really need is the process of seeking the energy rather than the infinite energy itself. James answers yes, talking how it is in the act of fullfiling a desire that someone can find hope. He tells that even if he is a demon, his sole reason d'être is for humanity's benefit, making him a demon of hope, claiming that the day his existence is proven, everyone will find happiness.
The demon agrees, and saying that whenever he is proved to exist, the infinity that has been humanity's ambition and disproving the second law of thermodynamics, he promisses that will be when he will grant the wishes of everyone alive. James bids farewell to the demon calling him a kind demon child, telling him that he can't wait for the day to finally meet him for real. The demon says goodbye, Father. Until they meet again, but also wonders why he is entrusting a demon he made himself a wish so cruel and difficult.[17]

Day 3[]
Caster came to check on Okada Izou after his conversation his Master. Assassin thought Caster came to get his report from him, he reminds Caster about his Master's report on him, he did get the report. When Assassin thinks he refers to the magus he fought, but he wasn't talking about her, he is talking about Saber's Master. After Assassin informs him what he knows from the other day and asks why he's interested in him, he smiles and asks Assassin he would appreciate it if he could tell him more about him.[18]
Abilities[]
Maxwell's Demon is a conceptual Servant. He is merely a Demon formed by a thought experiment of a scientist, and a servant distorted by the desires of people. A theoretical concept. Under normal means it would be impossible to summon him, but it was made feasible due to the circumstances of the Sengoku Singularity. Although Okita Souji is able to easily cut through him, it doesn't hinder him at all. He claims that no servant that can defeat him exists in modern era. Simply put, one who can resolve the theory of his concept does not exist. Maxwell's demon says he doesn't negate the idea of someone from the distant future being able to resolve him.[14]

Noble Phantasm[]
Caster's Noble Phantasm is Maxwell's Demon. It negates the second law of thermodynamics, producing a near infinite amount of energy.[1][14]
By using this Noble Phantasm, along with the Holy Grail, Caster is able to use the Right Hand of Glory and the Fuhrer corrupted by the Holy Grail Mud as a Catalyst to summon the "True Fuhrer", Neo Fuhrer.[14] Even the combined efforts of Okita Souji, Oda Nobunaga empowered by all Command Spells, and spearless Li Shuwen are unable to take it down. It took summoning Okita Souji Alter as a Guardian of the Counter Force to defeat him with her Absolute Sword - Endless Three-Stage.[15]
