Medical ☆ Medea |
Medea (Lily) (メーデイア(リリィ), Mēdeia (Riry)?), Class Name Caster (キャスター, Kyasutā?), is a Caster-class Servant summoned by Ritsuka Fujimaru in the Grand Orders of Fate/Grand Order. She is also summoned as the Servant of Watanabe-no-Tsuna in the Imperial Holy Grail War of the Heian-kyō Singularity.
Profile[]
Identity[]
The queen of Colchis, summoned as the younger aspect of Medea, from before she was called a "witch". Pure and innocent as a lovely girl, she has no vestiges of the "Witch of Colchis" or the "Witch of Betrayal" yet. Summoned as the Medea from before being cajoled by Jason, when she was being raised up like a princess while learning Magecraft from Hecate. A young girl with lovely bearing that anyone can love. If it wasn't for Jason, she would have lead a happy life.[1]
Appearance[]
Medea Lily is summoned as her 14 year-old self.[1] Medea Lily's appearance differs significantly from her older self as her clothing possesses a lighter color scheme, with lavender purple being the predominant color of her robe compared to the dark violet in her older self's robe.
Another noticeable difference between the two is that Medea Lily is much more revealing in their choice of robe and lacks the cape Medea possess.
Personality[]
Medea Lily is pure and trusts people easily. Even towards the Master, she comes in contact with maximum affability. However, turning another way, this is nothing but something driven by the thoughts of "wanting to trust people". Be it the original Medea or Medea Lily, both are filled with distrust towards others.[1] Medea Lily is still completely infatuated with Jason, despite having memories of how events later play out. According to Circe, Medea Lily is much smarter compared to her adult self.
Relationships[]
- Medea
- "Umm, Master? The caster with the purple hood over there...I feel as if she's staring at me...or scary...but she doesn't feel like a stranger."[2]
- "Why does the adult me like purple so much?"[3]
- Jason
- "Oh, my... Jason-sama! I'm so happy we can fight together. Don't worry. I know it's hard to tell, but I'm doing my best!"[2]
- "No, I know. That someday, you’ll betray me. That you’ll abandon me. That you don’t love me."[3]
- Circe
- "Auntie! Is that really you, Auntie!? What? That gives people the wrong idea? I need to be polite and respectful in Chaldea? Understood, honorable Auntie Circe! Eh? Still wrong?"[2]
- Atalanta
- Ah, Atalanta! Teehee. We're going to fight alongside each other. But...I'm not so good at fighting, so I have to stay in the back lines... You can leave the healing to me, though!"[2]
- Heracles (Berserker)
- "It's reassuring to know that Heracles is with us... but it's unfortunate he's a Berserker. That means we can't communicate with eachother."[2]
Role[]
Fate/Grand Order[]
Third Singularity: Okeanos[]
Medea Lily is summoned alongside Jason, Heracles, Atalanta as members of the Argonauts. She encountered Solomon, who easily bested her in magecraft, and instructed to tell Jason that sacrificing a god to the Ark will make him all-powerful. After being told this, Jason told the other Argonauts to find the Ark and a god to sacrifice with exception of Atalanta, who left. During their search for a goddess they met Hector, who, unbeknownst to Jason, serves Solomon like Medea Lily.
The Argonauts later encounter Ritsuka, Mash Kyrielight, Francis Drake, Asterios, and Orion and Artemis while they were sailing after Hector to save the recently kidnapped Euryale. After the group refuses to give Euryale to him, Jason orders Medea Lily and Heracles to kill them and take Euryale. Medea sends waves of Dragon Tooth Warriors to attack the group, later joining the fight herself. Her combat skills are subpar though, so she switches out with Heracles.
Medea Lily would encounter the group again, now joined by Atalanta and David, when the Argonauts sail to the same island where Atalanta and David were hiding. She and Hector protect Jason when he assailed by the Noble Phantasm of the group’s Archers. However, the Argonauts retreat when Heracles is destroyed by the Ark, so the group gives chase. Jason summons a Shadow Servant to kill them, but it is slain, so he orders Hector to kill them while Medea Lily protects him. After Hector is killed, it is revealed Medea Lily lied to Jason that sacrificing a Divine Spirit to the Ark would give him all-powerful, instead it would destroy the world. When Jason confronts her about this, she merely tells him that destroying the world would technically make him invincible. She refutes his intention of wanting to create a utopia, say he will never become a ideal king because his soul is hopelessly twisted. She then uses the Grail to transform him into the Forneus, claiming it is her way of protecting him. After they’re defeated by the group, Jason returns to normal and demands Medea Lily to heal him.
However, she cannot heal him as she herself will soon perish. Medea reveals she possesses memories of him deceiving and betraying her despite her adoration. She calls him both cruel and innocent, and states that despite being weak, he attracts others to loyally serve him. She continues that since he betrays too quickly, it would be better for him to sink with the world to avoid any betrayal. After Jason disappears in a rage, Medea regrets not being able to protect him from someone. As she disappears, Medea refuses to answer Ritsuka’s question about the mastermind behind the incineration of humanity since a mage greater than her defeated her. Before disappearing, she further tells them to prepare themselves against the mage and to gather more allies.
Event: Saber Wars[]
Medea Lily tells Siegfried not to listen to Medea's words telling him to destroy Ritsuka's party, believing they should all work together. She then describes herself and Medea as the angel and devil on Siegfried's shoulders respectively. Mysterious Heroine X suddenly attacks the three of them. Medea Lily screams she had to leave again because she was misunderstood.

Final Singularity: Solomon[]
Medea Lily is one of the "Okeanos" Servants summoned to aid the Protagonist.
Heian-kyō: Naraka Mandala[]
Before Chaldea's arrival, Tsuna and his servant Medea Lily defeated Urabe-no-Suetake and his servant Count Cagliostro. He also defeated Usui Sadamitsu and his servant Helena Blavatsky.
At the Main Street Ichijou Modori-bashi Bridge, Tsuna speaks with Ibaraki-douji while she is disguised as human girl until he points she forgot to change her shadow to match.
In a rage, Ibaraki attacks Tsuna, but he dodges every one of her attacks, all the while keeping his eyes closed. He then swiftly cut off her right arm. But instead of finishing her off, he sheathes his sword as he has determined that she isn’t a Master, so he has no further quarrel with her. Ibaraki doesn’t understand what he’s talking about and unleashes flames to mask her retreat. She swears to Tsuna that she will take back her arm and kill him when they next meet.
Tsuna calls for Medea, and decides to hold on to Ibaraki’s arm for the time being. He thanks Medea for enhancing his senses with her magecraft. Medea finds it incredible, though, that he avoided Ibaraki’s attacks all through his own power. Tsuna believes any of the Four Heavenly Kings should be capable of such a feat. He and Medea then set off in search of more quarry.
Later, he saves Ritsuka Fujimaru and Katou Danzou from a tsuchigumo by effortlessly slaying it. He then identifies Ritsuka and Danzou as Master and Servant and introduces himself.
Medea appears and confirms Tsuna’s suspicions. Tsuna, in accordance with the rules of the Imperial Holy Grail War as decreed by Fujiwara-no-Michinaga, then challenges Ritsuka, calling them Caster to their confusion. Danzou fights Tsuna to protect Ritsuka, confused to why one of the Four Heavenly Kings is attacking them and why he has a Servant.
Struggling against Tsuna despite him being human, Danzou tells him they have no reason to fight. Tsuna thinks Danzou is a Master like him and asserts fighting is the only path for them, as Fujiwara has decreed Kyo is now their battleground. Danzou realizes Tsuna truly intends to kill them, so she produces a smokescreen to cover her and Ritsuka’s escape.
Tsuna eventually catches up, seeing Ritsuka and Kintoki have run into Sakata Kintoki. He confesses to Kintoki he is responsible for Danzou's injuries and demands he stand aside as the Imperial Holy Grail War requires he kill Ritsuka and Danzou. But Kintoki vehemently refuses, leaving Tsuna no choice but to fight his sworn brother. Medea tries lending her aid with her Dragon Tooth Warriors.
Not wanting to spend all night fighting Kintoki, especially since he isn’t a Master, Tsuna decides to just kill Ritsuka. But he stops and realizes his mistake when Danzou goes into spirit form on Ritsuka’s orders.
Medea apologizes for not specifying that the Servant signal came from Danzou, not Ritsuka. She also identifies Danzou as Assassin. Tsuna is surprised that there are Servants other than Casters.
Admitting to his mistake, Tsuna allows Kintoki to have Ritsuka. However, he warns Kintoki that he will kill him if he sees he has Command Spells on his left hand when they next meet. Kintoki looks forward to fighting Tsuna. With that, Tsuna and Medea take their leave.
He later visits the Imperial Palace, surprised he and Kintoki scheduled a visit at the same time. He overheard the heroes' conversation with Michinaga about proving the Grail War is an evil plot, but he refuses to abandon the ritual. He reminds Kintoki of his threat from two nights ago, but as they’re in the palace, he cannot make good on it for the moment. The heroes leave following a tense moment between Tsuna and Kintoki.
On a later night, Tsuna enters the cave Charles Babbage, Servant to Fujiwara-no-Kaoruko, stays during the day, having already known about both it and his nightly walks. Babbage activates Dimension of Steam in response to Tsuna’s presence, forcing the head of the Four Heavenly Kings to fight an innumerable number of Helter Skelters. The Noble Phantasm stops, though, when Kintoki shatters Babbage's Spirit Core at the conclusion of their deathmatch. Tsuna realizes Babbage challenged Kintoki to protect his Master. He recognizes he lacks restraint, so a non-warrior like Kaoruko would never survive against him. He accepts Kintoki won and leaves with Medea.
He later sneaks into Minamoto-no-Raikou's manor while she and the heroes are having dinner, using one of Medea's spells to mask his presence. Yet despite it being a foreign spell, Raikou still senses him and demands he show himself. He complies, impressed by Raikou's senses. He apologizes to her for the condition he left Urabe and Usui in. Raikou forgives him, though, honored three of her Genji warriors were chosen for such an important ritual.
Turning his attention towards Kintoki, Tsuna chastises him for leniency toward oni and questions if he knows what a Genji warrior should be. Kintoki turns the question on him. Tsuna seems like is going to answer when Shuten-douji, her Servant Paracelsus von Hohenheim, Ibaraki, and Torakuma invade the manor.
Tsuna fights Ibaraki while bringing up a particularly bloody episode from her past, which only serves to enrage her. She attacks again under the pretense of getting her arm back. But it is a feint and her true target is Raikou, who she immediately tries to decapitate from behind. Raikou's Servant, Nursery Rhyme, takes the blow for Raikou, damaging her Spirit Origin. Paracelsus teleports a confused and distraught Ibaraki back to Mt. Ooe. Raikou becomes distraught by the sight of Nursery Rhyme dying and starts to become Ushi-Gozen, which was Shuten's plan.
On presumably Tsuna's orders, Medea tries healing Nursery Rhyme but to no avail. But for some inexplicable reason, Ritsuka's Mystic Code healing spell works and Nursery Rhyme recovers enough that she can stand. She then calms Raikou down, thwarting Shuten's plan. Shuten is a bit disappointed and decides to kill Medea and Nursery Rhyme.
Tsuna and Medea get ready to fight, but Kintoki demands he fight instead so he may rectify his failings. Tsuna, feeling Kintoki’s resolve, allows it. Paracelsus then transports himself, Shuten, Ritsuka, and Kintoki to the Imperial Deathmatch Stage for their battle. Kintoki defeats Paracelsus, who teleports Shuten presumably back to Mt. Ooe before he disappears.
The next day, the Genji hold a meeting regarding the Grail War. Raikou determines they require conclusive evidence to prove the veracity of Ritsuka’s claims. Kintoki recommends they halt the deathmatches until they can determine the truth. Tsuna, however, thinks they should continue until Michinaga orders otherwise. Raikou finds both Kintoki and Tsuna’s points valid, so she suggests the two settle their differences through battle as it has always been with the Genji. Neither Kintoki nor Tsuna object. Medea thus transports herself, Tsuna, Kintoki, and RItsuka to the Imperial Deathmatch Stage.
Kintoki defeats Tsuna. Medea tries to fight, but Tsuna refuses to let her because she reminds him of a girl he had failed to protect. He had hoped to use the Grail to bring her back to life. She was a noble’s daughter he had known since childhood and he was assigned to protect the district she lived. But one day she and her entire house were killed by a small oni. It was only upon seeing her dead that Tsuna understood he had loved her.
Tsuna accepts resurrecting the dead is wrong and concedes to Kintoki. Raikou declares Kintoki to be winner, thus she will tell Michinaga that the Genji suspect the Grail War is an evil plot.
Fate/Apocrypha[]
Medea makes a brief cameo appearance in the Fate/Apocrypha anime adaptation, in a flashback by Atalanta where the latter vows to protect all children.[4]
Abilities[]
Just like her older self, Medea Lily primarily uses the Rain of Light spell as her main offensive spell. She mostly cannot use offensive magecraft, but excels in healing-type magecraft.
Skills[]
Class Skills[]
- Territory Creation (B Rank): Makes up a favorable encampment for oneself as a mage. It is possible to build a “hospital” as a healing magus.
- Item Construction (B Rank): Can create item carrying mana. Mainly potions for therapeutic usage.
Personal Skills[]
- High-Speed Divine Words (A Rank): Can launch even High-Thaumaturgy in one stage (Single Action). Allows to perform magecraft without a summoning/activating the Magic Circuits.
- Ephemeral Love (B→EX Rank (Upgrade)): That was a fragile love like a bubble, wasn’t it? The whispered intimacies were hollow words, weren’t they? But, what’s wrong with that? Even if those whispers weren’t true, even if everything was a lie, certainly, it’s love.
- Poisonproof (A→A++ Rank (Upgrade)): The excellent healing mage, Medea, can naturally invalidate any poison. At the same time she heals the surrounding’s poison, she recovers stamina.
Noble Phantasm[]
- Pain Breaker: Healing Noble Phantasm that is paired up with the Rule Breaker that the original Caster Medea uses. If Medea’s Noble Phantasm is an embodiment of the legend of betrayal, Medea Lily’s Noble Phantasm could be said to be an embodiment of love. Any curse and injury will be returned to zero through magecraft. It’s not time manipulation, but auto-repairing by calculating the appearance that should be, but for those who don’t know it’ll look like time rewinding. [1]
