Megalos (メガロス, Megarosu?), Class Name Berserker (バーサーカー, Bāsākā?), is a Berserker-class Servant appearing in the Agartha Singularity in Fate/Grand Order: Epic of Remnant.
Profile[]
Identity[]
Megalos is the alias given to a Berserker Heracles appearing in the Agartha Singularity whose Saint Graph has been highly modified by Scheherazade using her Noble Phantasm in conjunction with the power of Phenex.[4] Deciding that names like GigasWP or Gigant would likely offend the hero due to being enemies of the Olympian Gods, Da Vinci and Mash name him Heracles Megalos (巨英雄ヘラクレス, Kyoeiyū Herakuresu?, Giant Hero Heracles), and then further dissociate him from the regular Heracles by deciding to just call him Megalos.[2]
Appearance[]
Megalos displays some of the same features of his regular counterpart but due to his Saint Graph being dramatically modified, his size has been greatly augmented to the point he far outclasses his 253 cm tall self and the bounds of any normal servant.[1]
Personality[]
Megalos is described as a natural disaster as he appears, destroys everything he sees, and then leaves. Once Ritsuka's party managed to tame him, his rage was greatly decreased.
Role[]
Fate/Grand Order[]
Subspecies Singularity II: Agartha[]
Megalos is know and fear throughout Agartha as something akin to a natural disaster.[5] He attacks the Nightless City while the Amazons were also attacking it. He crashes through the roof of Wu Zetian's castle and crushes her. He then starts attacking everyone, forcing Ritsuka's party and Scheherazade to retreat. He nearly exits the castle himself when Penthesilea charges at him in a rage. The two fight at relatively equal strength until Megalos leaves.[1]
Later he emerges from the river and boards the ship Ritsuka’s party was sailing with towards El Dorado. They try to fight him, but they’re unable to even scratch him. But having regained his memories, Christopher Columbus activates his Noble Phantasm, Santa Maria - Drop Anchor, to summon another ship to hold him. With him now chained up, the group fight Megalos again. They prepare to finish him off when Penthesilea and her Amazons board the ship. She attacks Megalos while calling him Achilles. She decides to kill the group, believing they’re keeping her from killing Megalos. Megalos also breaks free of Columbus’s chains, forcing the group to fight both Berserkers. The ship is destroyed in the aftermath, sending everyone (expect Penthesilea) overboard.[3]
The force of the river's current drags them down into the Dragon Palace. Megalos is there in a deactivated state following his defeat by Penthesilea rather than disappearing. Scheherazade uses a Tamatebako to have him follow simple commands from Columbus. He then returns to the surface with the others.[6]
In Penthesilea’s throne room, Megalos fights her with the others. However after Penthesilea is killed, Columbus betrays the group to fulfill his ambition of conquering Agartha to enslave its female population. He then orders Megalos to kill the group, and they struggle to hold the pair off. Megalos nearly kills them when Astolfo and Chevalier d’Eon return from defeating the Amazons to block his decisive strike. With their help, the group defeat him and Columbus. Columbus tries to use a Tamatebako to heal Megalos, but a Resistance member shoots it out his hand. Fergus deals a fatal blow to him, expecting the Demon God to manifest. However, both Columbus and Megalos disappear without it manifesting.[7]
Abilities[]
Due to Scheherazade highly modifying Heracles' Saint Graph he has changed so much to the point he can no longer be considered the same servant. Megalos not only displays higher output and durability than regular Berserker but even his Divinity has been increased.[1] He displays the skill Enormous Twelve Labors (巨大なる十二の試練?) and retains the ability to revive from God Hand. During the final battle, he displays the skills Take Aim (狙いをつける?), Violent Rage (暴猛?), AlcyoneusWP' Tyranny (アルキュオネウスの暴威?) and PorphyrionWP's Opening (ポルピュリオーンの間隙?), each providing a buff and a demerit to him.
Megalos' size and strength far outclass the bounds of any normal servant as shown when he first met Ritsuka's party, where Scheherazade claimed a single strike from him would be enough to obliterate Astolfo, Chevalier d'Eon or Child Fergus. He has also been shown fighting on par with Penthesilea[1] and the only reason he was defeated in their second encounter was that he was already gravely injured after fighting Ritsuka's party.[6]
