Miyamoto MusashiWP (宮本武蔵WP?), Class Name Berserker (バーサーカー, Bāsākā?), is the Berserker-class Servant summoned by Takao Dayu in the Waxing Moon Ritual of Fate/Samurai Remnant.
Profile[]
Background[]
« “Which Edo is this? My Spirit Origin this time isn't the one I'm used to, but I do still have my swords!” » |
Miyamoto Musashi is an unrivaled swordswoman and the founder of the Niten Ichiryu style of swordsmanship. Though she shares the same identity as Miyamoto Iori's teacher, her physical appearance appears to deviate from Iori's original perception.[2] Her summoning was not orchestrated by Dayu, but rather occurred spontaneously due to her profound connection with Iori. This led to her being assigned to the Berserker class for the Waxing Moon Ritual. Musashi's transformation to Berserker and her inability to traverse between worlds[3] are consequences of the influence of the Waxing Moon.
From Musashi's perspective, Fate/Samurai Remnant takes place after the end of Fate/Grand Order: Epic of Remnant and before the Olympus chapter.[4][3]
Appearance[]
Instead of the red and violet maple-themed kimono seen in Grand Order, she wears a pale blue kimono with a spider lily motif, with ragged black scarves tied onto her upper arms. Her swords also differ from Grand Order Musashi's, with hilts colored black and white instead of violet and gold.
Personality[]
Compared to Saber Musashi, her Berserker counterpart exhibits a notable difference in behavior. She displays rash decision-making, as evidenced by her greater willingness to sacrifice individuals to achieve her objectives.[3]
Role[]
Fate/Samurai Remnant[]
Other appearances[]
Takeru and Musashi starred in a series of animated shorts which aired during the Fate Project New Year’s Eve TV Special stream on December 31, 2023, where they visited different places in Japan.
Abilities[]
Combat[]
Musashi fights equally well with one or two swords in hand. Having mastered the Earth, Water, Fire, Wind, and Void stances, she is able to adapt to any battle condition.[8] As a Berserker, Musashi fights not only with her Niten Ichiryu, but also five stances based on The Book of Five Rings, like Iori does. While she does not employ these stances as a Saber, her playful disposition as a Berserker encourages her to do so more willingly.[3]
When Musashi first met Samson, her Saint Graph started to itch for a fight. After exchanging blows with him for a while, she claimed that one direct hit would put her on her butt. She couldn't believe how tough he is, regarding him as the true embodiment of a Berserker, but was confident she wasn't about to lose. After a while, Musashi compliments him saying he doesn't fall, and that a million strikes are like so many bug bites to his iron body.[7] When Samson gets mind controlled by Tsuchimikado Yasuhiro, his strength is such that Musashi claims she should consider herself lucky just to be alive.[5] Although she is able to match Samson in this state for a while, Zhou Yu eventually tells her to fall back, claiming that fighting Samson any further could damage her Spiritual Core.[5] During their second fight, Musashi is shown dodging and exchanging blows with Samson until Takao Dayu takes an opening to sneak behind him and cut his hair off. This weakened him enough so that Yamato Takeru could kill him with a single strike on the back.[6]
Skills[]
Class Skills[]
- Magic Resistance (C Rank): Though designated as a Berserker, her possession of the Magic Resistance skill stems from her prior incarnation as a Saber.[1]
- Mad Enhancement (EX Rank): This skill is acquired upon manifestation and results in a minor enhancement of certain attributes. While communication remains feasible, making rational decisions necessitates a Luck check.[1]
Noble Phantasm[]
Berserker Musashi's Noble Phantasm is the same as Saber Musashi's, Six Realms Five Rings - The Divine Figure of Kurikara.
Gameplay[]
Musashi has 4 Affinity Skills she can use as a playable character.
- Chastise: Throws both swords directly ahead and then movies instantly in front of a hit enemy to deliver a follow-up attack.
- Five Great Buddhas: Unleashes beams of light from the five jewels of the Five Virtues.
- Shock Stream: Launches a massive slashing wave directly ahead.
- Steadfast Heart: Stills the heart, increasing the Noble Phantasm Gauge.
