Formally named Shinmen Musashi no Kami Fujiwara no Harunobu (新免武蔵守藤原玄信?), Musashi is a swordsman from the early Edo periodWP, renowned as the strongest swordsman in the history of Japan. He founded the Niten Ichi-ryūWP (二天一流WP?) school of swordsmanship; a Martial Art that involved the dual-wielding of a katanaWP and wakizashiWP. However her circumstances are somehow different from the Musashi that left his name in history.[1][2]

In the proper history, Musashi was born in Oohara, Sakushu (modern day MimasakaWP, in the Okayama PrefectureWP), at 1584. His father was a practitioner of Martial Arts named Shinmen Munisai, who served as an instructor of Martial Arts to the Shinmen HouseWP of lords of the Takayama CastleWP, and who received the name of Shinmen from his employer’s family. Shinmen Munisai built a dojo of JutteWP techniques in the Miyamoto village of the Yoshino district, and Musashi would later call himself “Miyamoto” due having this land as his hometown. He left behind many anecdotes and went through numerous battles against martial artists upon reaching adulthood - especially during the ten years of his 20s. Those famous bouts are even now seen as a staple of the entertainment industry. However, the truth behind the episodes of these ten years of battle is mostly wrapped in mystery and there are strong suspicions about them being mere fiction.[1][2]

Whereas the Miyamoto Musashi of the established timeline was in fact historically a man, the Miyamoto Musashi that appears in Fate/Grand Order is a young woman—a personage that originated of a timeline long-extinguished by the fall of the Quantum Time-Locks. Since the elimination of her world, she has perpetually shifted from timeline to timeline at random, traversing all varieties of locales and time-periods.
In her original world, 'Miyamoto Musashi' is a nameless swordsman that lives care freely day to day. Shinmen Munisai had abandoned Musashi because she was a girl. Though she was disowned, she built a hut in front of her father's house and lived there just to spite him. Once, she went to Sagami for martial training, she saw a strange old man while taking shelter from the rain.[6]
Appearance[]
Miyamoto Musashi's overall appearance is a striking blend of fantasy and tradition. She is depicted as a young woman with light pink hair styled in a side-swept manner with an ahoge, accented by a black and red hair ornament that resembles a flower with flowing ribbons. Her eyes are bright blue.
She is dressed in a dynamic and richly detailed attire that fuses traditional Japanese elements with fantastical designs. She wears a sleeveless top with a deep neckline, primarily in dark tones with red accents and gold detailing, coupled with a high-waisted, red and blue skirt that has a thigh-high slit on the right side, revealing black thigh-high stockings underneath. The skirt is held by a decorative belt with intricate patterns and multiple layers, featuring a mix of red, blue, and gold. Over her top, she dons a long, flowing cape that matches her skirt in color and is similarly adorned with elaborate designs. The cape's inner lining has a leafy pattern that complements the overall motif. Her left arm is covered with a detached red sleeve that has a flared end, while her right arm remains bare, save for a black and red arm band on her upper arm. Both wrists are circled with ornate, golden bracelets.
Musashi's footwear consists of red and blue boots with a pointed, upturned toe, a design element commonly found in historical Japanese footwear. The boots have golden buckles and reach up to her knees, aligned with the overall color scheme of her outfit.
She dual-wields two katanas with ornate, blue scabbards and complex, decorated hilts.
In the Shimosa Subcategory Singularity, after being wounded by Katou Danzou self-destructing, Musashi wears a TsubaWP as an eye patch.[7]

As you see, the person herself has a relaxed, open attitude that never gets worked up. Having no particular interest in victory or prestige, yet sloven with alcohol, a sucker for money and weak against free food. However, all those who confronted and were beaten by her in battle said this in the end:[1]

Cheerful and openhearted, a female swordsman that is lively yet dignified. Constantly full of pride, acting complacently, but that does not mean she is looking down on her opponent. She is merely enjoying life. Her way of expressing emotions is somewhat great. She greatly laughs and gets greatly surprised. While she has a broad-minded personality that laughs off at most things, due being “someone who masters the way of the sword” at her roots, she is very dry and severe in regards to the taking of lives.[1]
That being said, she falls in love easily and likes to be depended on very much. She also likes to be praised very much. Weak to flattery. A banchouWP disposition that loves a brawl. Although she has a sense of justice, she never preaches to be righteous herself. Fundamentally a carefree wandering vagabond, but she becomes ruthless when coming across scenes such as:[1]

Fate/Grand Order[]
She went on a pilgrimage to become stronger and there is no particular purpose besides that. But if she is to think of a specific goal, it would be to return to her original world, and to take her mastery of the sword to the extremes. However her world has long since vanished. She was flung out from her disappearing world, a vagabond that can only wander through the worlds of others.[10]
In her previous journey, she ended up in the American West where she had to put her skills against pistols. At that time, the priestess that took care of her said to Musashi; "You are a Stranger".[6]
Musashi Trial Quest[]
During Musashi's travels through alternate worlds, she duels an elderly Yagyu swordsman. As they fight, Musashi believes she is fighting a battle that she couldn't win because there's a large gap in their abilities and her taunts aren't working on him. She decided to run away but as she enters through the portal to the next world, he lands a strike that hits her heads and knocks her out.[11]
She is found by Ritsuka Fujimaru on the beach of Onigashima Island. She awoke with an amnesia, but she calls herself lucky to have a cutie with a gentle and pure personality to wake her up. They encountered two Onis who harasses them. After Musashi defeats them, one of the Oni recognizes the swordsmanship. However the Oni was surprised to find the girl to be the famed Miyamoto Musashi, thus Musashi knows her name. Musashi spares the Oni's life, she joins Ritsuka to a teahouse.[11]
In the teahouse, Musashi conversed with Ritsuka and they exchange details of their journey. One of the Oni returned and introduces himself as Sukeroku. He took an interest in the self-proclaimed Musashi and followed her to the teahouse. He informs the two about the island's situation and how three devils has preoccupied the gates. He believes that it is the best interest for Ritsuka and Musashi to reach the top of the island and return to their world through divine territory.[6]
When the trio reached Kazakoshimaru's gate, Cleopatra has taken over the gate. Cleopatra plans to build the gate into a high-class exclusive spa and invites them. Musashi thought Cleopatra to be very generous as she is invited stay for free. In response to the heavy labour work, Musashi calls it corrupt commercial law, and suggest to defeat her quickly and advance. Cleopatra was defeated when Musashi has cut her down lightly. As Cleopatra fades away, Musashi is pleased to know that she returned safely to Chaldea.[6]
The trio encounters Tamamo Cat at the second gate. Musashi was impressed that Ritsuka has a lot of different types of friends. Musashi informs Ritsuka the Japanese traditions of cooking OsechiWP on New Year's Day. It turns out that there are three Tamamo Cat and they all desire Ritsuka. They all joined in and fought against the trio.[12]
After dealing with the Cats, they moveed on to the next and last Gate. Things, however, seem stranger than usual as there is no gate to be seen. Instead, they found empty plains with a rocket sticking out. Musashi sense the enemy's attack and deflects some projectiles out of the air. Mysterious Heroine X appears and declares that a true Saber only holds one beloved sword in hand and that the twin sword style is the ultimate way of evil. Musashi acknowledges X's is a first-rate swordsman, and it's from a school that She’s unfamiliar with. Musashi finds X to be really interesting, it's the first time she've gotten the feeling of "I really wanna slash her!". X calls out a challenge to Musashi. Musashi lands a hit on X, X finds Musashi to be a difficult opponents, whereas Musashi easily found her weakspot through her Mystic Eyes. Musashi slashes at X's W.F.D. Bracelet, and the Reality Marble's world breaks away. The plains and X's rocket disappear, only to be replaced by the sight of the third gate. X vanishes in golden light. Musashi finds her a strange opponent, and asks Ritsuka if all of the Servants are like that. Musashi felt their wavelengths match and finds a sort of kinship with her, as they are both strayed from their world. After passing the last gate. There is only a short distance till you get to the peak.[13]
As the trio went up the mountain, Ritsuka explain to Musashi about the Human Order Incineration Protocol. She is impressed by the tremendous battles Ritsuka has gone through to reclaim human history and its future, and offers Ritsuka a formal praise. She then wishes Ritsuka a Happy New Year, thanking Ritsuka for saving the world so that she could have continued to travel like this. As they reach to the top of the island, a Rayshift activated. Although Ritsuka can't see it, but Musashi tells Ritsuka that she can feel a hole has opened up. Sukeroku tells Musashi that she is going to die and he changed form to a shadow Servant. As Musashi cuts down Sukerou, Musashi realised that he is Arima Kihei. Before Sukeroku dies, he cryptically foretell Musashi's dream to return to her own world is doomed and her journey with her sword is futile. She request Ritsuka to write a diary to remember her, she was pleased to know that the feeling was mutual. Musashi says her farewell to Ritsuka.[10]
Subspecies Singularity III: Shimosa[]
Musashi catches Ritsuka when they fell from the sky. After Ritsuka wakes up, the two catch up.[14] Musashi assumes they're experiencing a rare case of travelling to another world through their dreams. She guesses Ritsuka is likely dreaming while simultaneously the current world truly exists. Thus if they die before waking up, they will die in reality. Musashi then reveals she cannot return to worlds she previously visited. She decides to help Ritsuka return to reality, so she can continue her journey.[15]
While searching for a village, the pair encounter Onui and Tasuke. Onui informs them that they’re in Shimosa currently ruled by Iemitsu Tokugawa. All of this differs from the Japan Musashi knows. Onui then invites Ritsuka and Musashi to her grandpa’s hermitage. However, the sky suddenly darkens, and spirits beset the group. After the spirits are destroyed, the sky returns to normal. Onui assumes they were bandits since Musashi slew them without being a monk, but Ritsuka and Musashi disagree.[15]
As the group travel to her grandpa’s hermitage, Onui says the spirits don’t appear in there or the village, even at night. The sky then darkens again, but the spirits are quickly slain by Houzouin Inshun with a single strike of his spear. He explains his circumstances and assumes someone is using a Holy Grail to summon the spirits.[15]
Day turns into night occupied by a blood moon. Sensing there will be greater danger than before, they hurry eastward to the children’s home. They try to cut through a bamboo forest when they encounter the Heroic Spirit Swordmasters. Inshun tries to attack one, only for Archer to deflect him with an arrow. Musashi slashes away Ashiya Douman‘s fire, and seemingly thwarts Assassin’s ambush, only for it to be an afterimage. She then attacks Rider aided by her Heavenly Eye, but her attack is blocked. Berserker unleashes her Noble Phantasm without saying its True Name, but Inshun deflects it with Hazy Inverted Moon - Eleven Styles. A swordsman assumed to be the leader then appears. He demands Inshun to be handed over, stating everyone will be massacred afterwards. Inshun holds the Swordmasters off while the others escape.[16]
The group continue escaping when they encounter Inshun. However he is now a Swordmaster, the Lancer of Purgatorio. Musashi decapitates him in the ensuing fight to protect the children, but he gets up and reattaches his head. The group escape to the village, and hide in a nearby haystack. Inshun tries to antagonize Musashi by massacring the village. Once he's gone, the group leave the haystack, and head for the hermitage.[17]
At the hermitage, Ritsuka and Musashi meet Onui and Tasuke’s grandpa, though he’s a young man. He dodges a sudden attack from Inshun and destroys his upper body with a single blow. Inshun regenerates and boasts there isn’t any technique nor blade that can reach the Spiritual Core of a Swordmaster. Regenerating from another attack, he reveals he massacred the northern and western villages. He claims his body is now a puppet controlled by karma, so only his complete destruction will stop him. Musashi takes the sword Onui and Tasuke’s grandpa recently made, feeling a divine aura from it. She then challenges Inshun to a duel to reach the apex of her mastery. Inshun responds by casting a spell similar to a reality marble, a field of corpses where the loser’s soul will be consumed. Thanks to the sword she took earlier, Musashi is able to reach Inshun’s Spiritual Core and kill him.[17]
Inside the hermitage, Musashi keeps the sword as an exception to her rule of four. Onui and Tasuke’s grandpa explains it is a failure since it is an evil blade that reached the realm of demons, and explains the ultimate blade he seeks. Musashi realizes she freed Inshun from his karma thanks to the sword. Onui and Tasuke’s grandpa still considers it failure though since it cannot cut bonds or certainty. He then dubs it Myoujingri Muramasa, revealing himself to be Senji Muramasa.[17]
Muramasa explains his circumstances, including how came to know Onui and Tasuke. He then recalls several rumors. Monsters started to appear around the time he was summoned. The Swordmasters control the monsters. A man at Katori Shrine summoned the Swordmasters to destroy humanity. The Swordmasters razed the Hitachi Provice. Musashi decides they need more information on the monsters and the Swordmasters. Muramasa directs them to Toke Castle Town as a place to get more info.[18]
Taking the children with them on Muramasa’s request, Ritsuka and Musashi travel to Toke Castle Town. They ask the townsfolk about the monsters, but no one takes it seriously since they almost never appear nearby. They also realize no one has heard about the village massacres yet, possibly because of the castle controlling information. Musashi also considers the possibility of them secretly gathering information on the Swordmasters and their summoner. The group eventually meets Otama shortly followed by Kiyohime, daughter of Lord Matsudaira Shimousa-no-Kami. She and Otama get into a violent argument over Ritsuka that Musashi is forced to break up. After Otama and Kiyohime return to their respective abodes, the group encounters a missionary. He directs the group to an alleyway where they’ll meet someone they need and leaves. There they find Fuuma Kotarou collapsed, so they take him to Otama’s inn.[19]
Kotarou explains he came to return Ritsuka to reality. However, he was the only Servant who was able to make it. He tries to explain to Ritsuka that they’re in a dream they cannot wake from when he passes out again. He wakes up though after hearing Ritsuka has been summoning in battle, believing they’re temporarily borrowing the shadows of the Servant’s Spirit Origins. After he falls asleep, Musashi tells Ritsuka how one can see familiar faces on strangers when travelling to other worlds through dreams. Otama then enters the room and allows the group to stay until Kotarou recovers.[19]
Later that night, Ritsuka and Musashi sneak out after she sensed a disturbance outside. After finding and destroying evil spirits, Musashi senses the Swordmaster who commanded them nearby. Archer then unveils and introduces herself with her Cursed Name. She declares the Swordmasters’ goal is to kill and burn everything related to Tokugawa society. She then starts unleashing fire, so Musashi fights her to ensure her fire doesn’t spread. They’re unable to best each other since Musashi can’t close the distance thanks to Archer’s arrows and flames, while Musashi continuously deflected Archer’s arrows at the last moment. Musashi realizes Archer is holding back, as she has yet to use the spell Inshun used. Archer admits she was told to hold back and vanishes with the promise of fighting Musashi in full force. Ritsuka and Musashi then return to the inn to rest.[19]
The next day, Kotarou has recovered some. The group then learns a large procession of samurai has recently arrived from Edo. They listen as Yagyuu Munenori explains they’re on an official mission to bring those responsible for the massacres in southern Shimousa to justice with Matsudaira’s cooperation. He then confronts Musashi, recalling they dueled six months ago. Musashi finds it strange, as she never came to the same place twice before. Munenori decides to duel her to determine her intentions when monsters fly in from the south. After the monsters are slain and samurai leave with Munenori’s new orders, Ritsuka tells Munenori their assumption that Archer is leading the monsters. Munenori tells the group that a hundred of his finest men will confront Archer as a diversion while they ambush her from behind. He advises them to go through the mountain pass to do so. He then introduces Katou Danzou as the spy who saw Archer leading the monsters. She will serve as the group’s guide through the mountain pass.[20]
Reaching their destination, the group stops Archer from incinerating more samurai. Kotarou orders Danzou to take the injured to safety, and give the others new orders since they cannot stand against a Servant. Archer shouts Lord Yoshinaka, allowing Musashi to deduce her True Name is Tomoe Gozen. She then readies to fight her with Myoujingri Murasama, and Tomoe takes them both to the bloody battlefield for their duel. With her demise, the monsters are sent into disarray. The group then helps Danzou and the samurai deal with the remaining monsters.[20]
The next day, Musashi recounts to Tasuke how Munenori had her check all of Shimosa for remaining monsters to her frustration. Later she challenges Kotarou to a duel since he’s fit enough for battle now. After the duel, they learn a letter was sent to Toke Castle, threatening to assassinate Kiyohime. The group decides to head to Toke Castle, hoping Munenori will let them in.[21]
While waiting to meet with Kiyohime, the group recalls Muramasa taking the children back to his hermitage. Kiyohime soon enters the room with Munenori. She commends them for their help, telling them to see a retainer later for their reward. She then informs them that many were killed when the letter was delivered. Despite having the castle guards and 300 of Munenori’s samurai to protect her, she asks the group to protect her as well. She then pays Musashi 30 ryou to spar with her to prove the results of her martial arts training. Musashi warns her not to fight her, even though she’ll be going easy on her, so Kiyohime orders Danzou to join her.[22]
Afterwards, Musashi stays with Kiyohime. Musashi tells her about her journeys. Kiyohime then tells her about her telepathic bond with snakes. Musashi then recounts the first time she met Ritsuka. Later she defends Kiyohime from the monsters that appeared with Assassin. Eventually she comes to the courtyard where Ritsuka and Kotarou are fighting Assassin. She throws Myoujingri Muramasa at her, only for it to miss and be caught by Kotarou. He then blocks Assassin’s kunai thrown at Kiyohime, who followed Musashi outside. Musashi slashes at Assassin, only for it to be an illusion, while the real one had already escaped. Danzou appears and reports that Munenori will arrive momentarily with his samurai. Kiyohime then faints after learning Assassin killed twenty guards.[22]
The next night, Assassin attacks the castle again and summons Yamata-no-Orochi. Musashi and Kotarou slay it when Kiyohime suddenly attacks Ritsuka with her fire. Kotarou protects them, though, with his own body. Orochi then revives despite being reduced to ash by Kotarou’s Immortal Chaos Brigade due to Assasin’s Saigyou revival technique. Assassin tells Kiyohime to kill the group, saying she'll kill her afterwards. Kotarou realizes the kunai Assassin threw at Kiyohime last night was merely a feint to put her under a spell. The group then fight Kiyohime and Orochi. After Orochi is slain again, Musashi deduces Assassin is Mochizuki Chiyome. Chiyome then brings them to the bloody battlefied for their duel. After Chiyome is killed, Musashi recalls her saying something about the Onriedo, a Buddhist word for distancing oneself from this impure world and its earthly desires.[22]
The group travel back to the hermitage accompanied by Danzou. Her new orders from Munenori are to gather information around Shimosa, and to ensure the group arrives safely at their destination. At the hermitage, Muramasa informs them that two women, whom they deduce to be Swordmasters, massacred an army near Arawaka Riber, destroyed the Sagami, and massacred larger settlements until high noon. The group then suddenly hears Onui screaming from outside.[23]
They rush out to find her, and Tasuke captured by Berserker and Rider. Ritsuka recognizes them as Shuten-douji and Minamoto-no-Raikou, respectively. Musashi attacks Shuten, but Raikou blocks it. The Swordmasters then overwhelm the group using only a fraction of their power. Raikou tells them to come to the peak of the nearby mountain before high noon if they wish to save the children. After they escape, the group prepares to go to the nearest mountain.[23]
After Muramasa forges a new sword, the group leave for the mountain. They cut through the nearby bamboo forest into a mountain trial. As they continue to ascend, Orochi suddenly appears, even though Chiyome is long gone. Kotarou realizes Shuten can summon it because she is a descendant of Orochi. With the last of its energy, Orochi knocks Ritsuka down a slope. Kotarou goes to save them when another Orochi appears.[24]
Musashi and the others eventually find Ritsuka. Kotarou uses his clan’s secret ointment to close their wound. After getting more rest, Ritsuka continues onward to the peak with the others. There the group demand Shuten and Raikou to give the children back. They doubt Shuten’s claims that she ate them, and slay the Orochi she summoned. Shuten and Raikou then bring Musashi to the bloody battlefield for their fight. After Shuten disappears, Raikou tells the group that the children are safe and unharmed in a small shrine up ahead. She asks them to defeat the Swordmasters and prevent the Onriedo’s arrival. After she disappears, Kotarou arrives with Onui and Tasuke. The group then returns to the hermitage.[25]
While babysitting Tasuke, Musashi laments she’ll lose her life’s purpose once her Niten Ichiryu is complete. She and the others then have breakfast when the blood moon night comes. Seeing the blood moon, the group assumes another Swordmaster has arrived. Danzou sends up a flying observational device to see that Toke Castle has been transformed. Musashi recalls Tomoe was ordered not to rampage in Toke Castle Town, so she suspects the castle was important to the Swordmasters’ plans. Then, with Muramasa and the children, the group ride to town on the horses he provided.[7]
Arriving in town, Kotarou scouts on ahead, and assumes the castle is the cause of the monsters in town. He also says a number of the townsfolk were turned into monsters. Danzou confirms the eastern area has been completely wiped out. Since the east is closer to the castle, the group assumes people become monsters when they get close to it. They then notice Otama helping people evacuate. She confirms most of the survivors have already escaped an hour from when the carnage began. Munenori and his samurai fought the monsters long enough for the survivors to escape. Leaving the children with Otama, the group leave for the castle when two Orochi arrive. They slay one, then encounter the missionary who fought the other Orochi. He explains Amakusa Shirou Tokisada plans to sacrifice Kiyohime to Onrideo Castle to destroy every world where the Tokugawa exist. The group rush towards the castle to save Kiyohime and stop Amakusa Shirou.[7]
Danzou guides the group to the castle courtyard. There she tries to confess she is an enemy spy, but Musashi reveals it before she can. The group suspected her at different times; Musashi and Muramasa from the beginning; Kotarou after Chiyome’s demise; Ritsuka after Onui and Tasuke were abducted. Danzou confesses Saber ordered her to aid the group against the Swordmasters, while Douman ordered her to kill them if the chance presented itself. Danzou believes she gained a soul, and guided the others to the castle of her own volition to stop its activation. Douman appears and mocks her for thinking such. He then explains how he found and altered Danzou to serve him. Musashi attacks him, but a barrier stops her. Danzou also tries to attack her from behind, but Kotarou stops her. Danzou realizes Douman has been controlling her actions the whole time. Douman then calls the monsters that he’s been keeping at bay, which is why the group never encountered any in the castle so far. He also has Danzou fight the group, revealing he imbued her with a sorcery that recreates the Curse of Annihiliaton’s karma through machinery. The group slays the monsters, but Danzou is too fast for them. Danzou then self-destructs herself.[7]
The explosion takes out Musashi’s eye while leaving Danzou in critical condition. Ritsuka stops the bleeding with their Mystic Code, but Douman’s curse prevents the eye from healing. Douman summons more monsters after stopping a slash from Musashi that would’ve beheaded him. Then, imparted with the first Kotarou’s magical energy from Danzou, Kotarou helps slay the innumerable monsters summoned by Douman. Douman casts the Curse of Annihiliation on Musashi to transform her into a Swordmaster. Ritsuka, however, uses the Mystic Code Rain of Isis to remove the curse. Musashi uses this opportunity to slash through Douman’s multi-layered barrier. Thanks to her duel with Raikou, she has learned to see through karma. Douman brings them into the bloody battlefield and summons the great spirit of the Souma clan to fight on his behalf. Musashi slays the spirit, and Kotarou wounds Douman. While Myoujingri Muramasa should be the only blade capable of harming him, Kotarou was able to thanks to Danzou passing her will onto him. Kotarou then seemingly finishes Douman off.[7]
Mash, Leonardo da Vinci, and Sherlock Holmes contact Ritsuka, and explain what happened to them. Sherlock reveals Shimosa isn’t a Singularity, instead it’s an alternate world that poses no threat to humanity. Musashi is a Mobile Singularity, but she isn’t the only factor responsible for what happened to Ritsuka. When multiple Mobile Singularities are in the same world, a number of abnormalities and unusual phenomena will occur. Ritsuka and Muramasa deduce Amakusa Shirou is the other Mobile Singularity. After communications end, the group enters the castle keep.[26]
The group reaches the keep’s 4th floor when Caster tries to ambush Musashi. However, before either can do anything, Saber kills Caster. Saber then reveals himself to be Munenori, the only human among the Swordmasters. He reveals he joined Amakusa Shirou for a chance to duel Musashi again. Ritsuka and Musashi stay to fight Munenori, while Muramasa and Kotarou ascend to the 5th floor. Munenori brings Ritsuka and Musashi to the other plane for their duel. Eventually Musashi awakens her ultimate technique to breakthrough Munenori’s god-like swordsmanship. She thanks him for enabling her to awaken it. Munenori thanks her for the duel and dies.[26]
Ritsuka and Musashi arrive to help Muramasa and Kotarou against Amakusa Shirou. Musashi defends Munenori’s pride as a swordsman from Amakusa Shirou’s insults. She accuses him of being envious, saying he should’ve killed people rather than turning them into monsters if he truly hated the world. Amakusa Shirou calls her no longer human because she travelled across many worlds like himself. He calls her an unwanted outsider rejected by every world she visits, never able to return to her own world that was now gone. Musashi accepts they are similar in that they can no longer be considered human. But they differ in that he travelled out of hate while she travelled out of a desire to be free. The group then fights Amakusa Shirou until he traps them in Shimabara Hell. However Muramasa forges Tsumukari Muramasa upon hearing Onrideo Castle is ready to activate, and bisects both the Reality Marble and Onriedo Castle.[26]
Ritsuka and Musashi find themselves on the other side of the castle, which is now are on fire. They realized Muramasa had destroyed the Onriedo. They get ready to escape when Sasaki Kojirou appears to kill Musashi. Despite having never met him, Musashi knows his name, and senses he is her fated rival. Even though they know it is void of meaning or purpose, Musashi and Saski duel. Their sword techniques are evenly matches as their duel continue. Soon they reach reach the Realm of Infinity, of Nothingness, an impossible domain where zero and infinity clash endlessly. Musashi and Sasaki would duel each forever if not for Ritsuka determining Musashi as the winner.[26]
Musashi later awakens from unconsciousness, suspecting Sasaki is long gone. Though she was the victor, Musashi recognizes she is too weak to escape now. She then throws Ritsuka out of the castle to show her thanks for them staying with her throughout her journey. She is certain either Kotarou or Muramasa (not knowing he’s gone now) will catch them. Then, satisfied she reached the Void, Musashi dies.[26]
After dying, Musashi crossed many worlds until she arrived outside of Chaldea. There she met Edmond Dantès and Sherlock. Sherlock told her she is a now Heroic Spirit who materialized thanks to a Chaldea summoning spell. Thanks to her connection with Ritsuka, her Spirit Origin was recorded as a Heroic Spirit after she died. She is now a Servant who automatically forged a contract with Ritsuka as her Master. Sherlock found it strange, though, that a “what if” Heroic Spirit who shouldn’t exist could be summoned. Edmond gave her a recording device to record a video message for Ritsuka before she leaves on her journey. In the message Musashi describes what happened to her after Shimosa. She ends the recording hoping to see Ritsuka again someday, addressing them as Master.[27]
Anastasia: Permafrost Empire[]
After the events of Shimousa, Musashi continues her travels. She meets a Yagyuu Juubei who was an agent of the Japanese government, deciding to travel with him. They journey to the northern territories, fighting assassins of the Russian Yagyuu until Musashi gets lost and ends up in the territory of Ivan the Terrible. She went around killing the Oprichniki and Yaga bandits. Eventually she entered Minotauros' labyrinth when it suddenly appeared, thinking it was a secret bandit hideout.[28]
There she meets Ritsuka and Billy the Kid when she saves from the Oprichniki. Afterwards, she contracts with Ritsuka by simply taking their hand.[28] Billy then He then figures they can use the sounds of his bullets to find their way around. Thanks to Patxi's hearing, the group eventually find their way out.[29]
Outside, Mushashi confirms Sherlock’s deduction that her existence is unstable, despite her connection to Ritsuka, because she doesn’t belong in any world. Having experienced it enough times, she suspects it won’t be long until she ends up being transported to another world. After Beowulf arrives, Billy proposes they wake up Ivan since he can only summon the Oprichniki while sleeping. Beowulf then orders his men to attack Yaga Moscow, but Billy suggests he serve as a decoy also. After his men leave, Beowulf joins the group. He then reveals Atalanta Alter and Antonio Salieri were captured. Beowulf’s men learned they’re being held in a prison fortress beyond the capital. Sherlock warns the slightest disturbance in the capital could awaken Ivan after deducing others are trying to keep him asleep.[29]
During the drive to the prison, Musashi finally meets Mash in person. The group soon at the prison, only to find it empty. Instead, they find a note from Kadoc saying Atalanta Alter and Salieri are to be executed in Yaga Moscow in five days. The group then proceeds to Yaga Moscow to stop the execution.[29]
Near Yaga Moscow, Billy, Beowulf, and Patxi gather Bicorns for the group to ride to the capital. During this time, Musashi tells Mash about all the places she visited. Mash confesses her desire to visit places outside of Chaldea has now be replaced by dread. She also confesses to her inability to fight now, and her fear at the Yaga's way of life. In response, Musashi recalls how Ritsuka bragged about Mash to her, so it's strange for Mushashi to meet her as she is now. Mash confesses it is fear that it is preventing from fighting as a Servant. Musashi replies that everyone feels fear, including herself, despite her love for duels. She then suspects Mash's fear comes from the fact that Chaldea's current and upcoming battles will be more morally gray, with conflicting extremes. She tells Mash that whether Chaldea is in the right or not depends on their actions in the end. She tells her that she isn't a burden as she turns her fretting into her own personal strength.[30]
While Billy distracts the Oprichniki, the others infilitrate Yaga Moscow. They stop Minotauros from executing Atalanta Alter, but he traps them all in his labyrinth. However that was in the rescue plan, and they kill Minotauros. Avicebron then appears, and confesses he wants to use the labyrinth to build Golem Keter Malkuth. However he lacks a core sufficiently strong enough to fight Ivan, so he chooses himself to be the core.[30] He then gives Ritsuka control of Adam before becoming its core. The labyrinth then proceeds to reconstruct into Adam.[31]
Ivan begins to awaken from Adam’s construction. The Oprichniki then all disappear with Ivan’s awakening. He emerges infused with a mountain-sized mammoth-like creature. Kadoc proposes to the group that they work together to defeat Ivan, suggesting they target his true body at the mammoth’s head. While the others leave to hold off Ivan, Ritsuka commands Adam to attack him. None of them can even scratch him however. He then attacks the palace when Salieri starts playing Dies Irae from there in an effort to kill him. He then prepares to destroy the palace and Ritsuka both when they order Adam to block him. Fortunately, Mash arrives to block the blast. She then blocks another blast with Mold Camelot, the light of which entrances Ivan enough to lower his trunk. Musashi prepares her Noble Phantasm, suspecting it’ll be her last attack as she feels the casualty keeping her in the Lostbelt is wavering. She realizes she should disappear like the Lostbelt inhabitants, believing she should be neutral. But she understands now thanks to Ivan that the reason she still travels and still enjoys it is because there is still something out there she’s yet to cut. She then cuts Ivan’s trunk off, disappearing immediately afterwards.[31]

She accompanies Muramasa before the events of the Atlantic Lostbelt in order to vouch for his allegiance to the alternative Chaldea, as Muramasa has been summoned to the world of Arcade in order to sever the karma connection between the Lilim Harlot Singularity and the various worlds and thus the Singularity was still accumulating power and would have turned Draco back in her Beast form. After doing so and aiding Chaldea and Draco in defeating the second, weaker instance of Beast VI/S, Musashi leaves with Muramasa, where Musashi comments that she's off to the "Greek Lost— oops, nevermind”.[44]

Musashi has trained for her entire life to develop her ultimate technique named Kengou Battou: Ishana-Daitenshou,[26] in an attempt to surpass the sword of her father, which had reached "One", the One where nothing lies beyond, where nothing can be considered higher. As such, her life objective was to reach a sword that exceeds the One, the seat of emptiness to reach Zero. Sukeroku regarded her aim as meaningless as the greatest enemy for a swordsman is the one who takes the opposite path to her Origin to its extremes. The path that opposes it, is in other words, Infinity. It is surely a path that no one can ever walk.[10]
Musashi's dual-wielding style is said to be a lot flashier than that of his Proper Human History counterpart.[22]
Alive/Drifter[]
Due to her Heavenly Eye, she is able to view different possibilities, making her akin to a mobile Singularity where anything and everything becomes possible,[26] almost like a Holy Grail. Consequently, Musashi used to see even “different worlds” without trying to. This caused her to, by chance, escape before her world's pruning[2] by granting her the unusual ability to travel between Parallel Worlds without Rayshifting,[28] but forces her to travel to different worlds once the causality keeping her in her current world wavers.[31] It appears that Lostbelts sustained by the Alien God's Fantasy Trees are considered "different worlds" for Musashi's Eye, even if they are all encroaching on a single world that Musashi has visited before or are merely simulations of non-existent worlds.[45] Due to having been born in a Lostbelt that was already pruned away, the worlds register her as a foreign object that shouldn't exist, and so they eventually reject her, making it so she is unable to enter the same world she has visited before. Although she can see the entrances to many different worlds when she shifts and can choose one to "jump into", she doesn't actually know which world it is beforehand, so she doesn't know which one could take her back to her original world. The entrances to different worlds are finite and become fewer with each world she visits, and by the time she reaches Olympus, she declares it to be her last stop.[42] This ability allowed Musashi to travel to all kinds of worlds and hone her skills fighting different types of opponents.
Despite Mysterious Heroine X considering herself a master swordsman, she worries when she senses the same aura from Miyamoto Musashi as she did from Shiki Ryougi,[13] whose serious manner allowed her to ignore the rules of the Cosmos Dimension protecting Heroine X (comedy characters can't die).[46] Just like MHX, Musashi will do whatever it takes to win. Musashi uses her Niten Ichiryu after having set her eyes on X's weakness and targets her left hand. X is unable to stop her, and thus, Musashi successfully destroys her W.F.D. bracelet on her wrist, which had been specially made by the new engineer that joined the Knights of the Round Table team, Lionhead. X runs away in fear.[13]
Despite considering herself a very inexperienced fighter with a long way to go,[15] especially when comparing herself to others such as Houzouin Inshun and the elderly Yagyu swordsman, throughout her many travels, Miyamoto Musashi became akin to a Heroic Spirit despite still being alive.[10] In fact, Musashi is a true master of the art of the sword and a person with monstrous abilities just like Saber of Empireo.[16]
Myoujingiri Muramasa[]
Musashi usually keeps four katanas, except in the Shimosa Singularity, where she was forced to use Senji Muramasa's finest katana, Myoujingiri Muramasa, in order to fight equally with the Heroic Spirit Swordmasters.[17] While she originally claims that all Heroic Spirit Swordmasters surpass her in power,[16] with this special sword she's able to reach their Spiritual Core in the ether, destroying them in the process with a single hit.[17]
One of Musashi's most important abilities is her mind's eye. With it, Musashi is capable of facing her enemies on her head in a no-holds-barred duel multiple times until she comes up with a successful tactic. Although out of the 32 times she fought Lancer of Purgatorio in her head, he defeated her in 31, Musashi defeated him in their last duel. To accomplish this she needed the aid of the will of the heavens, the laws of this world, Fujimaru's help, and a final decisive factor: a final trump card, Myoujingiri Muramasa.[17] Against Archer of Inferno her fight isn't as disadvantageous, in part for Archer not releasing her flames too freely. Due to this, Archer is unable to hit Mushashi as she deflects her arrows at the last moment with her Niten Ichiryu. This time, Mushashi sees herself winning in one out of ten scenarios.[19] Furthermore, the stronger opponents Musashi fights, the stronger she becomes. Thanks to gaining a lot of experience from fighting multiple swordmasters, she ends up defeating Rider of Kālasūtra Hell,[25] and later on wounding Ashiya Douman by breaking through his multilayered barrier despite not being used to fighting with an eyepatch.[7] According to Muramasa, Musashi's only major flaw is her overly erratic sword ki.
The essence of her Niten Ichiryu lies in adapting to hundreds if not thousands of possibilities, however, in her fight against Saber of Empireo this fighting style proved to be useless due to her being unable to read his next move. To defeat his Suigetsu, she had to enter the realms of the gods herself. She had to find the one right answer that lay beyond every possibility by slashing through the unbreakable heavens themselves. In other words, she finally mastered Ishana Daitenshou.[26]
The strongest foe Musashi fought during her life was without a doubt the Nameless Saber. Just from looking at him, Musashi immediately recognized his identity as his fated ultimate rival, Sasaki Kojirou. Before their swords ever clash, Musashi also claims that his skill is godly and that he's at least several times stronger than her. As their blades clashed, their power and technique seemed evenly matched. Not only that. Their skills had surpassed everything; time, space, existence, essence. Each being the other's perfect mirror image. They eventually reached the Realm of Infinity, or the Realm of Nothingness, a place only true masters of the sword can reach. It is not a world; it is neither the proper history nor culled history; it is beyond even the rift of reality and dreams. It is an impossible domain where zero and infinity clash endlessly. It was finally in her duel with Sasaki Kojirou that Musashi truly reached the Void, a sword of zero that exceeds the unequaled. It is a path that points to "only one answer". Ten of thousands, hundreds of millions of "possibilities" exist. They are all verified, crushed, and stopped as if without meaning. In other words, a "finite" sword that strives to reach only a single "correct answer". To shave one's existence away to the extremes until there is nothing left, and yet to cut everything until only "something" still remains. That is Musashi's "Zero". A sword that establishes a "conclusion" that not even the gods can escape from. Through "history's greatest duel", their duel would have prolonged for eternity had Ritsuka Fujimaru not determined Musashi as the winner. After their duel, Musashi died, becoming a Servant of Chaldea.[26]

When first meeting the Lostbelt Dioscuri twins, who move at sub-lightspeedWP, Musashi claimed she didn't know a way to fight back against Castor's swordplay. She was impressed not only by his Strength, but his Speed as well. She says that not even a bona fide Sword Saint could replicate that strike. The reason Musashi was able to react to him and protect Mash Kyrielight is that Sherlock Holmes had cast a support Spell on her. If he hadn't, Mash would have been decapitated. Musashi believes she could probably take out one of them if she wasn't worried about making it out alive, but not both.[33] Despite being exhausted after defeating Aphrodite, Miyamoto Musashi buffed by Ares Klironomia and Caenis are able to react to the Dioscuri twins. The combination of Musashi's Niten Ichiryu and Sherlock Holmes's Baritsu was able to take them by surprise, giving Caligula an opening to use Flucticulus Diana to hinder their minds and Macarios and Adele to create a smokescreen Spell so that they could all retreat.[38]
While Miyamoto Musashi can't resist Aphrodite's Mindhack Mycenae, she is still able to somewhat suppress the power of her influence.[36][37] Musashi states that she isn't on the level of Heracles.[41]
In the Atlantic Lostbelt, in order to seal away the hollow space that Chaos was using to attempt to enter the universe, she reached beyond her limits of her Noble Phantasm and swordsmanship in order to achieve the ability to cut the space that is equivalent to "Void". By reaching beyond "Zero", achieving "True Emptiness", 「 」, and cutting "Zero", her attack succeeds in cutting the hollow space that Chaos uses to observe the Lostbelt, reverting it to Void and sealing Chaos from accessing this universe. However, by achieving 「 」 she erases her Spirit Origin from Chaldea's records and from the Throne of Heroes, wiping her from existence and preventing her from being re-summoned.[42]

- Magic Resistance (A Rank): Witchcraft, ninjutsu and evil spirits tempting the human realm are nothing to be afraid of. A swordsman does not need to be a master to ward off, in a single stroke, techniques that do not have a sword’s heart. No matter the type of Greater Ritual, she can cut down any magecraft ranked A or lower.[1][2] Despite possessing this innate resistance to magecraft, not even her would be able to escape unscathed if she received a direct hit of any of Ashiya Douman's attacks.[7]
Personal Skills[]
- Heavenly Eye (A Rank): A Mystic Eye ability that permits the resolution of a desired result as "inevitable," by way of committing the entirety of the user's existence to the act of achieving the outcome. In practice, Musashi's application of the Heavenly Eye generally defines that “cutting a certain place”. For example, once she has decided to “cut the opponent’s right arm”, she will sever said right arm by taking all and every measure. As a result, her attack becomes the optimal answer for a slash - “a sword stroke without anything pointless, which makes even time and space yield”. A power to take all the “measures for the sake of achieving an objective” and “narrowing them down to one”. You might as well say that this is an extremely unique set of mystic eyes, which confines the naturally infinite futures into “just a single” result.[1][2] In the Shimosa Singularity her Heavenly Eye is blocked by Rider of Kālasūtra Hell to much of Houzouin Inshun's surprise.[16]
- Fifth Force (A→A+ Rank (Upgrade)): A stance that instantly maximizes power, the main advantage of using two swords. The Niten Ichi-ryuu is a style that fights while going along with the circumstances, letting the sword fight as it wants to, but in exceptional situations when she is facing against a powerful opponent; when she is facing against destiny, she calms herself down, turns her sword’s heart into Zero, and takes the stance.[2]
- The Book of Five Rings (- Rank): Right before death, Musashi compiled the mental state he attained during his lifetime, his cultivated techniques, into one book. Divided into the five volumes of Earth, Water, Fire, Wind, and Void, this book was the culmination of the human being called “Musashi”. The Book of Five Rings gives an outline of the Niten Ichi-ryu and explains its ideology as an art of war in the Book of Earth, explains concrete techniques on the Book of Water, talks about the art of war in the dimensions of tactics and strategy, and - just like the above-mentioned - explains the fundamental understanding of the Niten Ichi-ryu by means of a repudiation of other schools. Finally, it has been said that Musashi’s own understanding of “emptiness”, as well as the above-mentioned technique of “confrontation”, has been written down on the Book of Void.[1][2] At the end of the Shimosa Singularity she finally reached the Void.[26]
- Emptiness (A Rank): The highest order a swordsman can attain. The ultimate mental state. It corresponds to the concept of Suigetsu of the Yagyū Shinkage-ryūWP. One is nothing, thus invincible. Only a swordsman who has reached the infinite mental state can perceive this.[1][2]
- Battle Continuation (EX Rank): Tries every dirty trick in the book to survive. Playing dead not to lose a fight is one of her fortes. She confuses the enemies with her speeches and pulls off amazing comebacks from disgraceful escapes. She is a shameless realist to the core and seems to use "If I win at the end, I'm the winner, right? That's why I have to run away now! After all, if I'm dead, I can't win at the end, can I?" as a convenient excuse for it. This is who Girl Musashi is.[2]
Noble Phantasms[]
Musashi's main Noble Phantasm is Six Realms Five Rings - The Divine Figure of Kurikara (usually known as Ishana Daitenshou). With it, Musashi overpowers her opponent with her swords’ energy damaging their spirit. A final blow performed with all her might. It can be considered an embodiment of the sword of “Zero”, the concept of “Void” Musashi has yet to master.[2] This Noble Phantasm was useless when battling Shirou Amakusa inside his Reality Marble, Shimabara Hell, where Musashi felt useless due to not having anything to cut and no longer receiving Lady Kannon's protection due to the marble being completely closed off.[26]
Although Musashi defeated Saber of Empireo with this Noble Phantasm during the events of the Shimosa Singularity, after learning that Yagyuu Munenori had been summoned in Chaldea, she speculated that if the two of them were to fight again, Yagyuu may just be able to beat her. She explains that the Heroic Spirit Yagyuu must have peered beyond the veil, achieved enlightenment, and become a Sword Saint beyond compare. She doesn't mind it, as it just means she'll have to take her zero sword to the next level.[47] Despite having reached Zero, upon first seeing Ivan the Terrible in the Russian Lostbelt she felt completely useless. While she would like to cut him down starting at the legs, she doesn't think that would work, and even her Heavenly Eye can't see a way to kill him. Even if she tried to run up his trunk at full speed to strike his weak spot, she would get swatted before she ever reaches the top. Nevertheless, this attack was still powerful enough to split Ivan's enormous truck clean in half after he dropped his lightning guard due to Salieri's Noble Phantasm.[31]

Background[]
Musashi was wandering around North America.
She obtained the Holy Grail at the Western Grand Canyon, as an experiment, she cooked using and ate from the Holy Grail, the compassion she cultivated from her training of many years had a bad reaction with the Holy Grail resulted in her Spirit Origin being separated, and the one ended up as Tenma came to act violently.
Musashi decides to forget that Tenma exists and also drifts away from the situation, letting Tenma Musashi loose like that creates a great disaster... Which makes her feel responsible, and she went to consult with the previously-acquainted shady magician (Merlin).
...And that was the circumstance that Musashi-chan doesn't talk about. She thinks "So that they wouldn't find out the Mysterious Tenma who leads the collapse of the West is myself, it would be nice if the situation can skillfully resolve itself!". She says the reason she doesn't want you to know about her own failures is simply because "I think Master would get mad. Tehe".
Not because she thinks that "I did some bad things, let's protect my own reputation". She shows up at Las Vegas as a mere master swordsman in swimsuit.
After the fight with Hokusai, she calls herself "Miyamoto Iori". Until the very end, she pretends that she is not Musashi, it actually implies that "Don't call the me of the present Musashi. I am only half, so only enough as Iori-kun the disciple."

- Combat
Her weapon is a peaceful sports chanbara sword, but for some reason it pains her to use it. At her 3rd Ascension, she changes it for a bigger sword. This is the legendary Musashi Samurai, the reverse blade sword. Although it was based on the “reverse blade sword” that was used by the real Musashi in the history of our original timeline, it was damaged when she received it. However, even if that is the case, she simply uses the broken blade as both a large and small sword.
Usually, Musashi would be first in line to fight a tough opponent even if she believed she had no chance of beating them. However, she claims that she hardly sees a point against Gawain powered by the sun, who can cut her down before they even make a move.[32]

Her pair of shapeshifting swords can change into a single blade. The hit count doesn't change, but it gains Sure Hit, and better NP generation and star drop.[8]
- Heavenly Demonic Thundering Eye (EX Rank): The Heavenly Eye gone haywire. She lets her own Saint Graph rampage until the verge of collapse, gaining an explosion in attack power. When she does, her Heavenly Eyes sharpened to extreme levels see through all of the enemies' defensive actions and demolishes them. Since she detects all defensive actions in her line of sight, this affects the entire enemy line-up, not just an individual.[8]

"The first two Ascensions were easy choices. The competitive swimming swimsuit was just out of personal preference, and the chambara swords just came along with its sporty imagery; and the America bikini with a pair of Gunblades was because the summer event was set in Las Vegas. The Third Ascension was difficult to deliver, but I could get something done with the keywords "Japanese-style" and "Celestial Demon". It might be difficult to see with how fast the animation is, but she can switch the sides of the greatsword's blade and attack with the bigger part. Profile
A swordsman from the early Edo Period, famous as the strongest swordmaster in Japanese history.
Learned in the “Niten Ichi-ryu” (a school that was supposedly founded by Musashi), an expert of “dual wielding” that employs a long sword and a short sword.
....or so it should have been, but seems that her circumstances are somehow different from the Musashi that left his name in history.
“Eh? The ‘Musashi’ in this world is a man? And also extremely famous? What a surprise!”
As you see, the person herself has a relaxed, open attitude that never gets worked up.
Having no particular interest in victory or prestige, yet sloven with alcohol, a sucker for money and weak against free food.
However, all those who confronted and were beaten by her in battle said this in the end:

In the proper history, Musashi was born in Oohara, Sakushu (modern day Mimasaka, in the Okayama prefecture), at 1584.
His father was a practitioner of martial arts named Shinmen Munisai, who served as an instructor of martial arts to the Shinmen House of lords of the Takayama Castle, and who received the name of Shinmen from his employer’s family. Shinmen Munisai built a dojo of jutte techniques in the Miyamoto village of the Yoshino district, and Musashi would later call himself “Miyamoto” due having this land as his hometown.
He left behind many anecdotes and went through numerous battles against martial artists upon reaching adulthood - especially during the ten years of his 20s. Those famous bouts are even now seen as a staple of the entertainment industry.
However, the truth behind the episodes of these ten years of battle is mostly wrapped in mystery and there are strong suspicions about them being mere fiction.
Level 3 Bond
Cheerful and openhearted, a female swordsman that is lively yet dignified.
Constantly full of pride, acting complacently, but that does not mean she is looking down on her opponent. She is merely enjoying life.
Her way of expressing emotions is somewhat great. She greatly laughs and gets greatly surprised.
While she has a broad-minded personality that laughs off at most things, due being “someone who masters the way of the sword” at her roots, she is very dry and severe in regards to the taking of lives.
That being said, she falls in love easily and likes to be depended on very much.
She also likes to be praised very much. Weak to flattery. A banchou disposition that loves a brawl. Although she has a sense of justice, she never preaches to be righteous herself.
Fundamentally a carefree wandering vagabond, but she becomes ruthless when coming across scenes such as “an one-sided massacre”, “trampling on people’s dignity, convictions for fun” or “stealing my food when I’m hungry”.

Heavenly Eye is regarded as “the power to accomplish an objective”.
Once she has decided to do something, she will devote her body and soul to its fulfillment and achieve it without fail. You might say that this is something that she places her entire existence on her gaze and projects it onto her objective.
In Musashi’s case, her Heavenly Eye is pointed only at the deed of “cutting a certain place”.
For example, once she has decided to “cut the opponent’s right arm”, she will server said right arm by taking all and every measures.
As a result, her attack becomes the optimal answer for a slash - “a sword stroke without anything pointless, which makes even time and space yield”.
A power to take all the “measures for the sake of achieving an objective” and “narrowing them down to one”.
You might as well say that this is an extremely unique set of mystic eyes, which confines the naturally infinite futures into “just a single” result.
Level 5 Bond
- Nothingness: A
The highest order a swordsman can attain. The ultimate mental state.
It corresponds to the concept of suigetsu(2) of the Yagyuu Shinkage-ryu.
One is nothing, thus invincible. Only a swordsman who has reached the infinite mental state can perceive this.
- The Book of Five Rings
Right before death, Musashi compiled the mental state he attained during his lifetime, his cultivated techniques, into one book.
Divided into the five volumes of Earth, Water, Fire, Wind and Void, this book was the culmination of the human being called “Musashi”.
The Book of Five Rings gives an outline of the Niten Ichi-ryu and explains its ideology as an art of war in the Book of Earth, explains concrete techniques on the Book of Water, talks about the art of war in the dimensions of tactics and strategy, and - just like the above-mentioned - explains the fundamental understanding of the Niten Ichi-ryu by means of a repudiation of other schools.
Finally, it has been said that Musashi’s own understanding about “emptiness”, as well as the above-mentioned technique of “confrontation”, has been written down on the Book of Void.

正しい史実においては、作州(今の岡山県美作市)大原の生まれ。1584年生。
父は竹山城主新免家に仕えた兵法指南役で、主家から新免の名を与えられ、新免無二斎を称した武芸者である。
新免無二斎は十手術の道場を吉野郷宮本村に構え、武蔵はこの地を故郷としたため、後に宮本姓を名乗った。
後に成人し多くの逸話を残すが、特に20代の10年間には数々の武芸者と戦いをくり広げ、その名勝負は今もエンターテイメントの定番のひとつとして認識されている。
しかしながらその10年間の戦いのエピソードのほとんどは実状が謎で、フィクションの疑いも色濃い。

それは地水火風空の5巻に分かれた書で、“武蔵”というひとりの人間の集大成であった。
五輪の書は、地の巻にて二天一流の兵法としての理念とその概略を、水の巻では具体的な技法を、火の巻では戦略や戦術の次元での兵法について、風の巻ではある特定の技や戦法を否定することによって二天一流に対する根本理解を"自ずと読者の脳裏に浮かび上がらせる"形で解説している。
そして最後の空の巻には、武蔵なりの“空”に対する理解が、前述の“相対”の技法によって書き記されているという。
