NoahWP (ノア?), Class Name Rider (ライダー, Raidā?), is a Rider-class Servant summoned by Ritsuka Fujimaru in the Grand Orders of Fate/Grand Order Arcade. After fusing with Nemo in the Babylon Singularity, he appears as the Third Ascension form of their Saint Graph upon being summoned by Chaldea Security Organization. He holds the position of Grand Rider (グランドライダー, Gurando Raidā?).
Profile[]
Identity[]
A figure from the Old TestamentWP, famous for building an ark with which he and his people survived the world-destroying Great Flood. He was successor to the oldest survivor Utnapishtim.[4] Noah was the tenth generation descendant of Adam and one of the Patriarchs of the Jewish people, who all had long lifespans of over 900 years[5] (although his lifespan was not as long as that of Ahasuerus).[6]
Upon receiving the Lord's prophecy lamenting humankind's depravity and wickedness, Noah did as he was told and built an ark to carry his family and all kinds of animals while the world was flooded. Unable to steer the ark and leaving its destination to God's whim, Noah waited out the 40 days of storms that flooded the Earth and killed all forms of life, followed by 150 days drifting. When the waters finally receded, the ark came to a rest on Mount AraratWP. Noah and his descendants would go on to start a new civilization as the Progenitors of Humanity.[5]
Appearance[]
Before revealing his true identity, Noah initially strongly resembles an older Captain Nemo. After revealing himself, his bangs are tied to the sides and draped over the front of his shoulders, the rest cascading behind him. He wears a very elegant robe which he wears open to expose his chest, a deep blue gem (the Zohar)[5] hanging from a necklace the base of his neck, a black skirt tied with a blue sash, gold rope, and with leggings beneath it, and gold decorated sandals. He wears several pieces of gold jewelry, including a necklace, a choker, bracelets, and various bits of gold decorating his attire. The buttons on the back of his robe are in the design of the SefirotWP, much like the upper section of the Ark. The Da'at node is missing on his Sefirot symbol, because Noah himself is fulfilling the role of Da'at.[5]
Personality[]
Sincere and amiable. While he may appear to be a young man, but if you think of it in terms of mental age, he’s around 600 years old.[1]
He’s willing to perform superhuman feats of labour, and make immense sacrifices, if it’s for the sake of a just cause.[1]
Sometimes, he mocks himself as being nothing more than a farmer chosen by God. He’s a light drinker, and strips easily.[1]
His sleeping posture is so sexy that there’s no end to the troubles in his surroundings.[1]
He’s always friendly to animals, but often gets attacked when they’re in a bad mood.[1] Tamamo-no-Mae says that he prefers the company of animals as oppose to humans, making her like him as she's part fox.
He considers it an unforgivable offence for things to not be in pairs, even if it’s a sweater or a mug.[1]
He is a refreshing friend who always makes his Master feel at ease. Considerately, but sometimes annoyingly, he may make interventions while watching over his Master.[1]
Also, while the Heroic Spirit Noah lends his power to Nemo, he admires Nemo the “Fighting Captain” (Captain is really cool!), so he gladly gives his name as Captain Nemo.[1]
Relationships[]
“Eeh, a descendant of my son Shem? Uwaaah…He has a neat face and is rather viole—.....I mean, wiiiild.
He smashed stone tablets with his bare hands, and even parted the Red Sea? I wonder who he took it from?
His descendant Judge Samson too, I heard he was also famous for his unparalleled strength.
I see. When I think about it, Grandpa Methuselah was also an aggressive person, so it’s probably running through our veins—”
(Upon hearing another of Noah’s bloodline jokes, the animals move away. David is approaching.)
“I’d be a little nervous if I stood next to his, errr, her? side, I guess.
Right, that. Speaking of which, on the matter of the geological layers of fossils he discovered, which he fumbled in the manuscripts he left behind……Yes, the Great Flood.
“Why do we find sea fossils in the mountains? It’s wrong to attribute it to Noah’s Great Flood!” I'm afraid that one all-powerful genius will pester me.
Still, he is pious. In his later years, he made several sketches of deluges and floods. So in his views on nature, the End of the World has always been associated with the biblical image of the Great Flood. Flood talks, wonder when we can do it……”
“....It’s strange. It’s as if Death has taken a human form, with a frightening appearance devoid of life. He also seems somewhat nostalgic. He probably doesn’t drink alcohol, either.
But, it’s not like he wouldn’t eat anything. I’ll go visit him with some of my favorite date palms.”
“(is already drunk) Grand, fufu, Crown (Grand)……being a Rider is great, but working on fields is great too, ya know? Wheat fields support our tomorrow. Olive trees brighten our lives. And above all, grapes! Vineyards soothe our hearts. I want to beee~ Grand Farmer. Eeeh~? Who is it? Grand Drunkard?”
Role[]
Fate/Grand Order Arcade[]
Babylon: Critically Propserous City[]
Noah was summoned to counter Beast VI/S. However shortly after being summoned he was injured, and in order to survive had to reach out to a nearby Heroic Spirit to stabilize his Saint Graph.[4]
He hides his True Name when first meeting Chaldea.[7]
Once he meets up with Chaldea, before revealing his true identity he goes by the name Captain (キャプテン, Kyaputen?). He reveals his identity after Beast VI/S floods Babylon. Because of his earlier damage Noah was low on magical energy, and during the battle he used all of what he had remaining. After Beast VI/S fled he faded away.[4]
Lilim Harlot: Convergent Singularity[]
Noah returns along with Arthur Pendragon to help battle Beast VI/S.[8]
Abilities[]
Having reached the top of the Rider Class by meeting high standards in both power and legends, Noah meets the necessary requirements to be summoned as Grand Rider.[9] When summoned as a Grand Servant, Noah possesses a special Saint Graph of a rank above normal Servants and therefore stands at the pinnacle of all Heroic Spirits.[10][11] Although Taigong Wang says he is not as good as Noah at building arks, he claims that as a fellow Grand, he has learned a great many things of him.[12]
Combat[]
Noah claims he isn't much of a fighter despite being a Grand Servant. Due to this, he chose to bring Arthur Pendragon as a helping hand during the final battle against Beast VI/S.[8] Despite this claim, he wields a sword with similar design to Ea, the Hebrew writing upon it's surface reads "להט החרב המתהפכת" ("lahaṭ haḥereb hammithappeket"), meaning "flame of the whirling sword", referring to the burning sword which the CherubimWP used to protect the Garden of EdenWP.
Noah is summoned as a Grand Servant during the Babylon Singularity to suppress Bewitching Queen Draco's Authority and exterminate her. Although Tamamo-no-Mae believes that with his summoning the conditions to strike down Draco had been met, Noah didn't get the opportunity to fight her. Right after being summoned, Noah had been gravely injured by Draco, forcing him to fuse with Captain Nemo to survive. Although Noah decided to save all his remaining strength for the final battle, he only had enough Magical Energy left to counter Draco's continental-sized tsunami, the likes of which are unprecedented in Proper Human History. Despite this tsunami being bigger than Tiamat's Sea of Life and Noah himself being weakened, he managed to drive it away completely.[4]
Skills[]
Class Skills[]
- Magic Resistance (B Rank): Noah obtains great anti-magecraft protection through shining stone (Zohar) and by not allowing evil in his heart. But Noah is a bad drinker. Care should be taken with magecraft related to alcohol.
- Riding (A Rank): All vehicles and all creatures up to the level of Phantasmal Beast and Divine Beast can be used as mounts. However, that does not apply to members of the Dragon Kind.
- Independent Action (EX Rank): For 230 days, Noah's patience and faith while sailing on the ark far from the earth were sublimated into this skill.
- Divinity (B Rank): Although Noah is not a god, as a wise man chosen by the Lord, he possesses a high degree of divinity.
Personal Skills[]
- Voyager of Salvation (B Rank): One of the skills he possesses as Noah, the saviour who survived the storm and allowed many lives to prosper. It is a principle of tightening protection, fundamentally different from Nemo’s navigation.[1]
- Protection of the Faith (EX Rank): One of the skills he possesses as Noah, the virtuous Human who was chosen by the Lord. It should only belong to those who were martyred for their religious beliefs. Originally, this skill should not provide blessings from the supreme being, but in practice, Noah receives a great many such blessings. It’s a special case for sure.[1]
- Zohar's Glowing Stone (EX Rank): Undoubtedly Zohar. It is a shining stone that demonstrates that he’s a descendant of Adam. On its own, it doesn’t have any particularly great power. However, the stone’s radiance shines in correspondence with Noah’s mentality, which is not tainted by evil, nurtures the earth, and loves animals, and so it gives Noah a surge of power “worthy of being the progenitor of Humanity”.[1]
- Voyager of the Storm (B Rank): Captain Nemo's skill. Because Noah is not the captain and does not control the ark, this ability does not increase Noah's power.
Noble Phantasm[]
His first Noble Phantasm is Noah's Ark. An enormous storm sweeps away his enemies with a giant water current. After everything has been submerged, the Ark surfaces from the water like a submarine, a dove returns to Noah with an olive branch in its mouth, and in the skies, the rainbow that proves God’s covenant with mankind shines.[1]
His Second Noble Phantasm is Great Ram, Noah’s Ark. The ark floating in a violent storm. The huge ark splits into blocks, sliding and acquiring a humanoid shape reminiscent of cherubim angel. Piercing horn of the Nautilus with lightning bolts integrated into the arms. In addition the attack is completed with animals and birds of prey.
Forms and Alternate Versions[]
Captain[]
- Main article: Nemo (Adult)
Right after being summoned during the events of the Babylon Singularity, Noah was gravely injured by Bewitching Queen Draco. He barely managed to survive by entrusting his Saint Graph and power to another Heroic Spirit.[7]
Abilities[]
Being unware of the true reason why he had been summoned in Babylon, Noah decided to save his remaining strength in case Bewitching Queen Draco manifested again in the Babylon Singularity.[4] While pretending to be "Captain", Noah's Saint Graph is not quite stable.[7]
Development[]
Creation and Conception[]
Noah was designed by Oyo in Fate/Grand Order Arcade. His scenario writers are Meteo Hoshizora and Kinoko Nasu in Fate/Grand Order Arcade.[3]
