Nzambi (ンザンビ, Nzanbi?), Class Name Caster (キャスター, Kyasutā?), is a Caster-class Servant summoned "After" the Holy Grail War in Fate/Requiem. Her Master is unknown.[1]
Profile[]
Identity[]
The Earth Mother Goddess of the Congo, Africa, whose name became the root word for zombies,[1] Nzambi is the origin of all zombie folklore. The high goddess of the Vili peopleWP of the Congo, at once a great empress and the mother of all life.[2] She is not to be confused with Nzambi a MpunguWP, a male creator god from the same religion.
As a Servant, Nzambi's image was distorted due to the influence of the folklore surrounding her, becoming a self-proclaimed necromancer who hunts for Command Spells and manipulates the dead.[1]
Appearance[]
Nzambi is described as having silver hair and dark skin with a cold undertone.[2][3]
Personality[]
Nzambi appears to only show interest in death and spreading her zombie infection. She displays a curiosity and respect for Erice Utsumi, saying that her powers are equal to hers when it comes to wielding death.[2][3]
Role[]
Fate/Requiem[]
The Boy Among the Stars[]
Nzambi is a killer who collects Command Spells by cutting off the body parts of Masters. Before her identity was known, she was called the "Command Spell Hunter" in reports as murder victims with their Command Spells missing were being found in various wards of Mosaic City.[4]
She plans to release her zombies, whom she refers to as her "children", across the entire city, with seemingly no objective beyond spreading death.[2] She attacks in the middle of the Holy Grail Tournament, simultaneous with other attacks across Mosaic City like a fire in Shinjuku and derailed train in Shibuya.[5] She lets her zombies loose in the Colosseum to rampage and spread their infection. After battling Koharu and Erice, Nzambi retreats when Voyager destroys her sword.[2][3]
Abilities[]
Although Nzambi is a Caster Class, she denies this fact, instead calling herself a sorceress, but also claims she doesn't care about any distinction between the two.[2]
She is able to transform people into zombies with Voodoo, saying "All those who have tasted death become my children." This is even able to affect Servants. For Servants, Nzambi makes them recall how they died and then they lose themselves, going on a mindless zombified rampage.[3] The zombie infection can spread through physical contact with someone who is already a zombie.[2] It is also possible to conceal the zombies deaths to certain extents, reanimating the corpses to act the same as when they were alive and disguising that they've lost their Command Spells.[4]
Also among her strengths is her strangely shaped weapon, a Sword comprised of an odd design, having a small loop segment in the middle, two points in the middle of the upper blade portion and ending in three tips, the outermost of them being curled about in the middle and curved outward. Her skill with said weapon is enough to overwhelm and best Koharu despite her fusing with Galahad and using his abilities to aid her, flicking her weapon this way and that in a flurry of savage blows.[2] Her attacks damaged Koharu's Magic Circuits, in turn damaging Koharu's ability to use magecraft.[3]
She can also heal herself by eating Command Spells, and it even manages to repair her cape that was previously torn.[3]
