Orion (オリオン?), Class Name Archer (アーチャー, Āchā?), is an Archer-class Servant summoned by Ritsuka Fujimaru in the Grand Orders of Fate/Grand Order.

While the True Name of the Saint Graph is Orion, the lynchpin of the Servant is actually the goddess Artemis (アルテミス, Arutemisu?) who interrupted the summon and manifested utilizing Orion's Saint Graph. The initial profile, initially written in first person by Artemis, pretends to be just Orion while saying that she doesn't know the origin of the weird voice that can sometimes be heard around her. She is later revealed to be Artemis the Moon Goddess and Goddess of the Hunt of Greek Mythology, and that weird voice is the actual Orion in the form of a small bear.[2]

Artemis[edit | edit source]

Artemis is a pure virgin goddess that would unfailingly shoot through those who sought to attain the magical power that pulls the tides and causes them to rise, the link to the moon's movements, and simultaneously granting these infidels death and disease.[3] She is one of many goddesses whose power is derived from the Earth Mother.[4]

As the "Goddess of the Hunt", Artemis was the divine protector of Atalanta, and granted her the bow Tauropolos, named for one of Artemis' epithets.[5] She lent her power to the Noble Phantasm Phoebus Catastrophe along with Apollo. She taught the skill of hunting to Chiron as one of his many lessons from the gods.[6]

Famous as a winter representative constellation, but other than being a notorious hunter and lady-killer, it is not like a brilliant heroic tale about Orion is being transmitted. However, he is well known as the human with whom the virgin goddess Artemis fell in love.[2]

The legend of Robin Hood was said to be a result of the fusion of several mixtures, including the Greek myths about Orion.[7]

Legend[edit | edit source]

Artemis is one of the goddesses of the Twelve Olympians, born as a child of Zeus and as the younger sister of Apollo. She was a virgin goddess that governs chastity and hunting, and her eyes towards the opposite sex were twice as relentless towards humans beings, such as killing a hunter that was thoughtlessly peeking at her bathing, etc.[1]

Why is she like that, of all things? It all started when she fell in love with the hunter Orion, a child of Poseidon who garnered fame as a playboy at that time. Usually, if it was another goddess, Orion would have fallen in love and if possible, take her back to his home immediately. But when it's towards Artemis, why does his defensive instincts come into play? He refrained from taking her hand immediately.[1]

Nonetheless, the rumor of Orion and Artemis' rendezvous ascended to the heavens, and the talk of these two getting married was being spread around.[1]

Apollo, the Sun God and her elder brother, did not permit it. Apollo was aware of the nature of "it can't be helped" belonging to the man named Orion. But Artemis did not lend her ear to Apollo's warning. So Apollo drafted a plan, perceiving from afar Orion, who was swimming, and provoked Artemis by saying "aim and bring down that scoundrel named Candaon." Naturally, Artemis aimed at the head of Orion—and magnificently shot through him. The next day, Artemis became aware of his death and grieved. She attempted to restore him back to life, but it was not granted. Inevitably, he was ascended to the sky and became a celestial body.[1]

And yet, Orion indeed did not learn from his lesson, quarreling with Artemis who came to meet him occasionally, and being beaten half to death after being exposed by Artemis for having an affair.[1]

... This time, sensing the crisis that would result in the usual Holy Grail Wars to be held for the restoration of the Human Order, Artemis accomplished the materialization of her form by thrusting herself into Orion's summoning... Although, that is just half the reason. The other remaining half is the opportunity to express her feelings bravely, said to be her making out with Orion to her heart's content.[1]

Appearance[edit | edit source]

Artemis takes an appearance of a young woman with round blue eyes and long white hair, with the bottom of her hair attaches to a large circular ornament. She wears long white dress with red tip at the bottom, a silver necklace, and a pair of sandals. Like her origin, Artemis wield large bow which is capable of firing arrows made of pure energy as a weapon. According to the comment by the characters, this form appears to not be her original form from the Age of the Gods, but instead was changed possibly due to Orion's influence. In her later ascensions and during Noble Phantasm's animation, Artemis switch to a short revealing red dress.

The height and weight belong to Artemis. Her bust size doesn't affect her bow firing ability.[2]

Instead of taking form of a man, Orion appears as a small brown bear with black eyes (which turns red when he's angry) wearing an outfit resembles the one worn by cavemen and wields a small club as a weapon. To make matters worse, Orion completely changed into a strange creature (mascot character) that cannot be defined as neither a person nor a beast.[2]


Personality[edit | edit source]

Artemis basically takes up a neutral position towards the Master. However, because she is a goddess, no matter how great the Master is, she always take up a higher position in their relationship standing. Orion's role is to pacify Artemis and the Master. Fundamentally, Orion has no power, so he tries to curry favor with the Master.[1]

Artemis[edit | edit source]

Initially introduced as a loving maiden on a stroll in her quest for dango,[2] Artemis is a virgin goddess at an age similar to where one falls in love with romance. Given that this goddess is a happy-go-lucky person, she has almost no regard for human life. Fundamentally, Orion's role is to keep her in check, and she personally dislikes more than anything else the words called "patience" and "preserverance". In addition, she is an utmost fangirl of everything sweet—and especially shows that enthusiasm wholeheartedly and with all of her energy towards her darling Orion.[1] With the exception of Orion, Artemis has no interest in the opposite gender, but she really gets into love stories regardless of it being heterosexual or homosexual.[2]

A notorious playboy in the olden days from the present. After being shot to death by Artemis, due to her actions, Orion became adorable (... adorable?) as he was transformed into a mascot character. Characteristically, Orion is lazy and irresponsible, yet he is shrewd too, occassionally evading Artemis' accusations of having an affair splendidly. In relation to Artemis, as he is in the vicinity of her trying to have an affair that will breach their relationship, it can be said to be a feeling that he is constantly in danger for being unfaithful. They are less like a married couple, and more like lovers who similarily cannot avoid each other, and yet likewise, they can avoid each other. However, in the case Artemis falls into a crisis, he is resourceful to a degree to come to her aid, even being truly reckless in doing so.[1]

Orion is dumbfounded towards Artemis' passionate approach, and there is a chance he will make an attack on various women and female Servants, but sadly he is just a mascot character after all, so it is all futile. Furthermore, there is also the fact that he is not cute enough to be called a mascot. Since Orion is an irresponsible lady-killer that likes women and flirting, he has a better affinity with a male Master whom he can repetitively amuse himself in foolish talks.[2]

Fate/Grand Order[edit | edit source]

Artemis was summoned while having Orion as an accessory. To make a correction however, that is the opposite. Upon summoning Orion, a hero of Greek Mythology, for some reason, the goddess Artemis also came along. Harboring uneasiness towards the abnormality of the present situation, Artemis trespassed by wedging herself into Orion's summoning. She is fulfilling the role of an Archer-class Servant.[2]

Do Moon Goddesses Dream of Dango?[edit | edit source]

Orion and Artemis are first encountered by Ritsuka and Mash while they're fighting a pack of werewolves after the Chaldea pair arrive in the Singularity. Accepting Ritsuka and Mash's offer of aid, Artemis defeats the werewolves with their help. After defeating the werewolves, Artemis introduces herself Orion to the Chaldea pair, and says she came to repair her reputation by correcting the Singularity. Artemis is then asked by Mash if she saw any suspcious people, who have stolen Chaldea's provisions. She answers that she had seen three people running carrying something strange, which had food falling out all over the place. After accepting her offer to help them, Artemis and the others set out get back the dumplings.

The group soon come upon Marie Antoinette, d'Eon, and Sanson in a forest, eating dumplings around a campfire. However, the group's presence is soon sensed by d'Eon and Sanson, which results in a fight when Mash demands the dumplings back. After defeating the French Servants, Mash prepares to interrogate them, but Artemis senses a presence similar to that of Orion's. Mozart then reveals to the relief of the French Servants and goes to fight the group with d'Eon and Sanson. After defeating them, Marie returns the dumplings to the group, but reveals that she gave a trio they met earlier three tons worth of dumplings as a sign of friendship. After hearing that the trio was going to pray near the waters of Marseille, the group set out set out once again to get back the dumplings.

Later, the group come upon Saint Martha, Georgios, and Sasaki eating dumplings around a campfire at the shoreline. Georgios returns the dumplings after hearing they were originally stolen from Chaldea, but a fight ensues when Artemis reveals that Saint Martha, Georgios, and Sasaki all still have dumplings hidden on their person. The group is able to defeat them, however Artemis points that Saint Martha is trying to escape on Tarasque. But before she escaped, Martha reveals to the group that her group gave half of their dumplings to a fat man in the wasteland.

The group later come upon Julius Caesar and Caligula eating dumplings, but a fight ensues when Mash tries to get the dumplings back. After defeating the Roman emperors, Mash tries to take the the bag of dumplings back to Chaldea, but Artemis senses that someone is eating them in the bag. Then, to Artemis's shock, Altera comes out of the bag, and Artemis warns Ritsuka and Mash of Altera's destructive tendencies before they fight her. After defeating Altera with the help of Artemis and Julius Casesar, Ritsuka and Mash are rayshifted back to Chaldea with the dumplings.

However, Artemis transports Ritsuka and Mash back to the Singularity, where she reveals that she broke into Chaldea. However, the traps on Chaldea's food storage kept her out of it, so she ended transporting the entire storage to the Singularity. She then continues to reveal that she attempted to retrieve them, but Marie got to them first before finally meeting Ritsuka and Mash. Artemis then reveals that she wanted the dumplings because they're an offering to the moon, and states that Chaldea's dumplings had awoken her. However, her magical energy was too weak, and so she set out with the group to get the rare dumplings in order to restore her strength. Happy that she is able finally able fight with them, Artemis reveal herself to not be Orion but the Moon Goddess before fighting the group to test both of their skills. After she is defeated by the group, Artemis disappears saying that they will meet again.

Okeanos: The Four Sealed Seas of the End[edit | edit source]

Sensing Orion would be summoned, Artemis lowered her divinity to make herself his substitute out of concern. This however resulted in Orion becoming a little bear creature. Not knowing why they summoned, the couple traveled from island to island in search of information. Before Chaldea’s arrival, they’ve searched two islands to no avail.[8]

Artemis makes what she calls a boxed lunch for Orion. He refuses to call it such since it's just grilled meat topped with plucked seaweed. He then senses a Servant nearby, not caring if they're friend or foe if she's cute. After scrapping him against a tree in response, Artemis realizes having a Servant nearby is perfect since they need more information. She then swings Orion around after he said he didn't meet any other girls on the previous islands. Her hand slips though, accidentally sending Orion off in some direction.[8]

She eventually finds him with Ritsuka, Mash, and Francis Drake. She immediately accuses him of cheating and promptly punishes him. She yells at Mash not to interfere in their lover's quarrel, but she calms down when Ritsuka talks to her. After the situation is explained, Artemis is disappointed she and Orion won't be able to live together forever on the island if the era is destroyed. The couple then agree to help the group. Artemis introduces themselves to the group's shocked disbelief. They then help the group find the wyvern scales so they can get the necessary number of scales needed to fix the Golden Hind. They eventually retrieve scales and return to the ship.[8]

After repairing the ship and equipping it with a ram, the group set sail. As they to enter unknown waters, the group discuss on how to deal with the Queen Anne’s Revenge. Drake suggests ramming them while Euryale suggests assaulting them with arrows. Artemis suggests someone can board the ship and cause chaos before the ships collide. She reveals that since she was technically summoned as Orion, she can use his power of walking on water, as he is Poseidon’s son. The group eventually confronts Blackbeard’s ship and execute their strategy. Artemis boards his ship and fights the crew while Orion sabotages their ammo supply. They return to Drake’s ship before Blackbeard’s ammo supply explodes. When Hector escapes with Eurayle and the Grail after betraying Blackbeard, Orion tells Artemis not to chase him since they both Servants now. He believes she could defeat him in her true body, but not now with his power as her base.[9]

As they pursue Hector, the group discuss his plans for Euryale and the Grail when they encounter a storm. Using its tailwind, they eventually catch up to Hector after dealing with a ghost ship. Orion tries to stop Asterios from immediately attacking, as he'd only be a target for Hector's spear. He lets him go though after realizing he can't stop him.[10] Hector eventually boards another ship, leaving Euryale behind. Artemis recognizes it as the Argo. Jason demands the group hand over Euryale to him, otherwise he’ll send Heracles to attack them. They refuse, so he sends both Medea and Heracles to kill them and steal Euryale. Medea sends waves of Dragon Tooth Warriors to attack the group. Artemis recognizes them as being Hekate‘s specialty. Medea soon switches out with Heracles after finding her own combat skills subpar. The group cannot defeat him however because of his Noble Phantasm, God Hand. He suddenly attacks Euryale, whose death would foil Jason’s plan, but Asterios protects her. As this is happening, Jason orders Medea to retrieve Euryale, but Drake and Mash protect her. Hector then unleashes Durindana Pilum, impaling both Asterios and Heracles. Orion yells at Euryale to understand Asterios’ feelings when he prepares to sacrifice himself. The group then escape after Asterios plunges himself into the ocean with Heracles.[11]

After retreating, the group discusses the Ark that Jason mentioned earlier. Orion wonders how Jason will the Ark, to which Romani Archaman exclaims he doesn’t know. Artemis yells at him to be useful since he isn’t fighting on the front lines. Romani explains he doesn’t understand the concept of using the Ark. He compares it to Pandora’s Box, explaining the divine punishment released by its opening would destroy the surrounding area. Despite that, the group go to find the Ark before Jason.[12]

After three islands turn out to be duds, Orion finds it strange Medea is younger, even though she should be an adult as a Servant. He recalls her killing Jason’s wife and children in revenge for him betraying her. Therefore, they should have killed each other the moment she was summoned. Artemis responds that at least Orion only flirts with other goddesses and other men’s wives. Then, as the group continue their search, Orion is shot by an arrow. Artemis removes it from his head and finds it has a message from someone she knows. The group land on a nearby island to meet the letter’s sender. Orion is concerned though, since Artemis is the goddess of virginity. Artemis replies she runs daily simulations of when she loses her virginity. Orion interrupts her fantasies so she can fight the nearby enemies. Afterwards, the sender, Atalanta shows herself to the group after Ritsuka declares they’re friend. Artemis shocks her with her true personality as a hopeless romantic. Atalanta reveals the Ark is a Noble Phantasm and its owner was the first Servant summoned in the Singularity. The owner of the Ark, David, then arrives.[12]

David calls the Ark a third-rate Noble Phantasm that kills any who touch it. It is summoned independent from him, and it’ll remain in the world after he’s gone if someone possesses it. David heard of Jason’s search for the Ark from Atalanta, and they waited together for allies to arrive. Atalanta explains she was summoned as part of the Argonauts but she didn’t join Jason’s search for the Ark, something he believes will make him a true king. David then reveals that if Eurayle, a Divine Spirit, were to be sacrificed to the Ark, it would destroy the era. Sacrificing a god to the Ark would normally only destroy the surrounding area. However, that destruction would increase within the Singularity, destroying one of the Foundations of Humanity without waiting for it to collapse. After questioning Jason’s reasons, the group discussion on how to defeat Heracles. David suggests they trick Heracles into touching the Ark to will destroy him. The issue with that plan however is that even a Berserker would avoid touching such a dangerous Noble Phantasm. Since it would be disadvantageous to fight all three, Mash suggests they lure Heracles away from Hector and Medea. Orion suggests they hold up somewhere, but Atalanta says no structure on the island could withstand Heracles. Ritsuka then gives their plan on how to defeat Heracles. Artemis questions if Heracles will go straight for Euryale, but Orion recalls him being dead set on her when he fought. He is also concerned for Mash, believing she should make the final decision to go through with the plan. Despite the risks though, everyone agrees to Ritsuka’s plan.[13]

Following Ritsuka’s plan, the allied Archers launch their Noble Phantasms at Jason, who had just arrived at the island. Like they expected, Heracles goes after Euryale instead of killing the Archers like Jason ordered. The group eventually lure him to the Ark, but he keeps his distance from it. They push him into the Ark after defeating him in battle, draining him of his magical energy unto his death. With Heracles now gone, the group goes after Jason.[14]

As the group chase after Jason, the allied Archers fire upon the Argon while Drakes unleashes cannon fire. When they finally catch up with him, Jason uses the Grail to summon a Shadow Servant to attack the group. They kill it, so Jason orders Hector to kill them. After Eurayle finishes Hector off, David tells the truth about sacrificing a god to the Ark, asking if it was Hector or Medea who convinced it would give him ultimate power. Confused by this, Jason asks Medea if David is lying since he told it would give him power. Medea confesses to her deception, then uses the Grail to incarnate him into Forneus, claiming it as her way of protecting him. While the others are doubtful of their victory, Drake inspires them to fight while commanding her crew to hide in the cabins. After Jason and Medea disappear, Chaldea’s allies disappear with the Singularity now resolved. Artemis elated to be able to finally go home. Orion wishes to meet Ritsuka and Mash in a different form. He asks Mash for goodbye kiss, but she silently rejects him. He and Artemis then disappear while he apologizes to her for not asking for a goodbye kiss.[15]

Salomon: The Grand Time Temple[edit | edit source]

Artemis and Orion are amongst the "Okeanos" Singularity Servants to aid Chaldea against the Demon Gods Pillar. Orion complains to Artemis that his appearance doesn't look impressive and hopes to have his original form back.[16]

Artemis is one of three existences combined by BB in the Moon Cell to form the composite being Meltryllis.[3]

Abilities[edit | edit source]

Archer is powerful enough to bend space to change the order of cause and effect to change the possibility of "one day, the Heroic Spirit will form a contract" to the result of "a contract has already been formed", allowing her to summon herself to the dango festival before Ritsuka Fujimaru formally contracts with her.

Since Artemis' Divinity has dropped to the lowest limit, she has a power that is just slightly stronger than your normal Servant.[2] Artemis' skill with archery is on a level that despite not barring the proper posture and stance of an archer, none of her shots ever miss.[17]

In this form, Orion has no power and is fundamentally useless. However, being the son of Poseidon, he can still walk on water.[18]

    今回は状況の異常さに不安を抱いたアルテミスが、オリオンの召喚に割り込む形で乱入。アーチャーとしての役割を果たすことにした。
    神格は限界まで落としているので、通常のサーヴァントよりやや強い程度の力しかない。

    01 - Sawarswati Meltout: Benzaiten's Five String Biwa
    The Noble Phantasm that BB gave to this Alter Ego.
    Originally, it was not an Anti-Unit but an Anti-Group, Anti-World Noble Phantasm. It was not something to be used in combat or by a warrior, but something used by a something in the range of a civilization with an established culture.
    Meltlilith's honey sweetly melts not only the body but also the soul. This Noble Phantasm melts the community's good sense and morals and makes it into a single body that resembles a colony.
    And so trampling on the body and heart and society that has been turned into slime and absorbing it is its original power.
    That it shows an immense effectiveness against non-combatants is Meltlilith's depravity oozing out.
    The one used as the ingredient for this is one of the Seven Deities of Good Luck, a goddess of the same rank as the Three Goddesses of Munakata and Ugajin, Benzaiten.
    This is the biwa of Benzaiten, who controls "things that flow," such as natural phenomena, among which is water and wind, music and words, speech, poetry and prose, given form as a Noble Phantasm. The source of Benzaiten is the river goddess of Hindu mythology, Saraswati. She was born from the god of creation Brahma, but she was unable to stand the passionate gaze of Brahma, who had come to desire as his consort due to her overwhelming beauty, and desperately ran from him, making her a goddess who is timid when faced with love. Saraswati is a goddess who rules over the arts and education, and as she's come to be worshiped as Benzaiten, she's come to possess the ability to increase property as well.

    02 - Crime Ballet
    A simple battle style. The result of Meltlilith, who adores classical ballet, retuning herself: an arrangement of various offensive skills. She came to possess diverse powers by converting already completed stories and stages into skills.
    Those references are quite diverse. Below is an explanation of them.
    "The Name on the Heel is the Cursed Sword Giselle": from the classical ballet "Giselle." Having fallen into despair to being betrayed by her beloved Albrecht, Giselle uses his sword in a frenzied dance, during which she dies. Women who die before marriage become ghosts known as wilis. Giselle becomes one of the wilis, who capture men and dance them to death, but...
    "Unforgivable Hilarion": from the classical ballet "Giselle." Hilarion, who deceived Giselle, is caught by the Wilis and comes to pay for this crime. He is not forgiven and without waiting for daybreak, they make him dance in ecstasy until he dies from exhaustion.
    "Farewell, Albrecht": from the classical ballet "Giselle." Albrecht is taken prisoner by the wilis but due to one of the wilis saving him, his life is spared. When Albrecht, who was spared from death by exhaustion, raises his face, the form of the girl he most loved disappears like an illusion.
    "The Siren Who Burns Entrails": from the classical ballet "The Prodigal Son." A country feudal lord's son, out of admiration for life in the city, runs away. There are many temptations lurking in the city, the most extreme of which is the enchantress, Siren, who corrupts men the wiles she's come to possess from a life of adversity.
    However, the lineage of these skills is merely a smokescreen. Crime Ballet points out how Meltlilith has been cheating.
    In order to make herself invincible, Meltlilith has overwritten a basic rule that the far side of the moon possesses, "the lack of a sense of time" with "the lack of hit detection for Meltlilith."
    Meltlilith's conduct in selfishly giving herself such a privilege, not by training herself thoroughly, but by altering the rules of the rule, is an exemplary criminal act.

    03 - Composite Divinity
    Alter Egos are High Servants created as complexes of Heroic Spirits.
    BB accessed the Moon Cell's Servant Archives, chose goddesses compatible with the Ego from them, and reproduced the data. Alter Egos came into existence as complexes of goddesses.
    Meltlilith is made of three goddesses.
    The first is the pure virgin goddess Artemis of Greek mythology. She would unfailing shoot through, simultaneously granting disease and death, those who sought to attain the magical power which pulls the tides and causes them to rise, in other words, their link to the moon's movement.
    The second is the cruciform snake staff which originates from Leviathan, who appears in the Old Testament or maybe Lotan from Ugaritic myths. It is something with the same origin as the staff that Moses used to split the Red Sea, while also acting as a symbol of the sea that that staff split. Its owner will be granted a transformative property like that of water, making it feasible for them to adapt to any situation. Furthermore, their form will be able to change phantasmagorically, and it would even be possible to take the shape of the target of one's envy.
    The third is the river goddess Saraswati. She holds the ability to control "things that flow," such as natural phenomena, among which is water and wind, music and words, speech, poetry and prose. The timbre that flows from her can excite any emotion in the heart of those who hear it and, moreover, can interfere with the flow of electricity in a computer network.

    01 - 弁財天五弦琵琶(サラスヴァティー・メルトアウト)
    BBがアルターエゴに与えた宝具。

    本来は対人ではなく対象、対界宝具。
    戦闘や戦士に用いるものではなく、一定の文明を築いた文明圏に用いるもの。

    メルトリリスの蜜は肉体だけでなく精神まで甘く溶かす。
    この宝具はそのコミュニティーの良識、道徳をとろけさせ、群体のように一体化させてしまう。

    そうして身も心も社会もスライム化したものを踏みにじり、吸収するのが本来の力である。

    非戦闘員に対して絶大な効果を発揮するあたり、メルトリリスのたちの悪さがにじみ出ている。

    材料になったものは七福神の一柱であり、宗象三女神、宇賀神などと同一される女神、弁財天。

    自然現象、中でも水や風、音楽や言葉、弁舌、詩文といった“流れるもの”を操る弁財天の琵琶を宝具としてカタチにしたもの。
    弁財天の源流はインド神話の河の女神サラスヴァティーである。
    彼女は創造神ブラフマーによって生み出されたが、あまりの美しさに自らの伴侶にと望むブラフマーの熱烈な視線に耐えきれず、必死に逃れようとした経緯がある、愛の臆病な女神である。
    サラスヴァティーは芸術や学問を司る女神であり、弁財天として崇拝されるようになってからは財物の増進にも権能を持つようになった

    02 - クライム・バレエ
    単なるバトルスタイル。
    クラシックバレエに傾倒するメルトリリスが自らを再調整した結果、成立した攻撃スキルの数々。
    元から完成された物語・舞台をスキルに変換する事で多彩な能力を持つにいたった。

    その引用は多岐にわたる。衣かはその解説とする。

    『踵の名は魔剣ジゼル』クラシックバレエ「ジゼル」より。
    恋したアルブレヒトの裏切りから絶望し、ジゼルは彼の剣を使った狂乱の踊りの中で息絶えた。
    結婚を前にして死んだ女はウィリと呼ばれる亡霊になる。
    ジゼルは男を捕まえては踊り殺すウィリの一員となるのだが…

    『許されぬヒラリオン』クラシックバレエ「ジゼル」より。
    ジゼルを騙したヒラリオンはウィリに囚われ、その罪を清算する事になる。彼は許されず、明け方を待たずして踊り狂い、衰弱死した。

    『さよならアルブレヒト』クラシックバレエ「ジゼル」より。
    ウィリに囚われたアルブレヒトだが、ひとりのウィリの助けにより一命を取り留める。
    衰弱死を逸れたアルブレヒトがその顔をあげた時、最愛の少女の姿は幻のように消えていた。

    『臓腑を焼くセイレーン』クラシックバレエ「放蕩息子」より。
    田舎領主の息子は都会での暮らしに憧れて出奔。
    街では多くの誘惑が待っており、その最たるものが百戦錬磨の手管で男を墜落させる妖婦セイレーンだった。

    しかし、これらのスキル系統は目くらましにすぎない。
    クライムバレエはメルトリリスの行った不正行為を指す。

    メルトリリスは自らを無敵にするため、月の裏側における基本ルール『時間感覚の喪失』を『メルトリリスの当たり判定の喪失』に書き換えていた。

    自分を鍛え上げるのではなく、世界のルールを変えて特権をほしいままにしたメルトリリスの行為は犯罪行為そのものだ。

    03 - 複合神性
    アルターエゴは英霊複合体として創造されたハイ・サーヴァントである。

    BBはムーンセルのサーヴァントアーカイブにアクセスし、その中からエゴと適合する女神を選び、データを再現。
    アルターエゴを女神の複合体として成立させた。

    メルトリリスに組みこまれた女神は三体。

    一神目はギリシアにおける純潔の処女女神アルテミス。
    潮の満ち引き、すなわち月の運行と連動しており、その魔力を受けて狙った者を必ず射抜くと同時に、疫病と死をもたらす。

    二神目は旧約聖書に登場するレヴィアタン、あるいはウガリット神話のリタンに由来する、蛇十字 の杖。
    紅海を割ったモーセの杖と同根の存在であり、同時にその杖によって割られた海そのものの象徴でもある。
    持つ者に水のごとく変化する性質を与え、どのような状況にも順応可能とする。さらに変幻自在にその姿を変え、自らが嫉妬する者の姿となる事もできるとされた。

    三神目はインドにおける河の女神サラスヴァティー。
    自然現象、中でも水や風、音楽や言葉、弁舌、詩文といった“流れるもの”を操る能力を持つ。
    そこから流れる音色は、聞く者の心に任意の感情うぃ沸き立たせ、さらにコンピュータネットワークなどの電子の流れにも干渉する。

    Skills

    01 - Constitution of an Abuser [A]
    A skill that augments one's aggression in battle. It appears to be a positive skill, but the longer its owner stays in battle, the more their abusive disposition will grow, causing them to lose their usual composure. It's possible to say that this is just one step short of the skill that causes Berserkers to go insane.
    The more one attacks, the stronger one becomes, but on the other hand, one's defensive abilities drop. With the added disadvantage of unconsciously lowering one's chances of escape, it can be said that this is a skill that had bad compatibility with the usually composed Meltlilith.

    02 - Melt Virus [EX]
    A unique power, called id_es, that the Alter Egos possess from their creation.
    A skill that evolved from "Absorption." The highest grade of energy drain. Draining, copying, and scaling down are all possible.
    The drain process has two parts. First the virus poison (honey) that is produced in Meltlilith's body is injected into the target and fuses the parameters that will be stolen at that time, "experience," "skills," "capacity," etc. After that, she absorbs, converts, and makes a part of herself the parameters that were liquified by the virus.
    As long as it as a form, it is possible to drain, regardless of whether it is made of organic matter or inorganic matter, but things without shape...
    Things such as spiritual nature and skills can be fused, but converting them into "my own things" is difficult, so it seems she can only utilize them as simple nutrients.
    For this reason, what Meltlilith mainly makes into "my own things" is primarily "experience" and "capacity."
    Utilizing this ability, Meltlilith plans to augment "my own transcription." She created a transference-type of virus that would melt all the contents of an electronic body and transform them into herself... Meltlilith.

    03 - Riding [B]
    Riding ability. As long as it is an animal that exists in reality, even if it is a wild animal, she can ride it. Usually, knight-type Servants, such as Saber or Rider, would have this skill but...
    Why Meltlilith possesses this skill is something best left to the imagination.

    01 - 加虐待質 [A]
    戦闘において、自己の攻撃性にプラス補正がかかるスキル。
    プラススキルのように思われがちだが、これを持つ者は戦闘が長引けば長引くほど加虐性を増し、普段の冷静さを失ってしまう。
    バーサーカー一歩手前の暴走スキルと言える。

    攻めれば攻めるほど強くなるが、反面、防御力が低下してしまう。
    無意識のうちに逃走率が下がってしまうマイナス面もあり、普段冷静なメルトリリスにとては相性の悪いスキルと言える。

    02 - メルトウィルス [EX]
    id_es(イデス)と呼ばれる、アルターエゴたちが生まれながらに持つ特殊能力。
    スキル『吸収』から進化したチートスキル。
    エナジードレインの最上級。
    ドレイン、コピー、スケールダウンなどを可能とする。

    ドレイン成立には二工程ありまずメルトリリスの体内で生成されるウィルスを(どく)として対象に注入し、『経験値』『スキル』『容量』等の、その時に奪うパラメーターを融解させる。
    その後、ウィルスによって液化したパラメーターを吸収、変換し(コンバート)、自らの一部とする。

    カタチさえあれば有機物、無機物、問わずドレインする事が可能だが、カタチのないもの……
    精神性やスキルといったものは融解する事はできるものの、これを“自分のもの”に変換する事は難しく、単純な養分にする事しかできないようだ。
    このため、メルトリリスが“自分のもの”にできるものはおもに『経験値』『容量』がメインとなる。

    この能力を利用して、メルトリリスは“自分の転写”を増やす事を計画した。
    電脳体の中身をすべて溶かし、自分……メルトリリスに変貌していく転移型のウィルスを作ったのだ。

    03 - 騎乗 [B]
    騎乗の才能。
    現存する動物なら野生のものであれ乗りこなせる。
    本来ならセイバー、ライダーといった騎士系のサーヴァントがこのスキルを持つのだが……

    メルトリリスがどうしてこのスキルを所持しているかは、想像にお任せしたい。

    Setting

    01 - Neurological Disorder
    Neurological disorder: Humans possess five sense--sight, hearing, smell, taste, and touch--and use those five sensors come to recognize the outside world and, as a result of that, they come to comprehend their own state of being.
    At their foundation, humans come in contact with the world through these passive senses. By unconsciously using the excellent sensors known as the five senses, they accept the ordinary. However, in the case that any of the five senses degrade, the consciousness must actively face toward the outside world. That which was passive becomes active.
    For example, someone who has lost their sight will deliberately specialize in their remaining four senses and will utilize them as even greater sensors. Ironically, they will come to function as someone whose perception is several times superior to that of a person who has all five senses.
    In regards to Meltlilith's five senses, her sense of touch has deteriorated. Especially her hands--she's almost completely lost sensation in her fingers, and for that reason, she has become proactive in her relationship with the outside world.
    It is thought that even her interest in causing others pains ultimately arose "because like this, I'm the only one who cannot feel the existence of other people."
    This is a digression, but because of the clumsiness of her fingers caused by this, despite her hobby of collecting figures, she cannot immerse herself in assembling garage kits. Currently accepting applications for a skilled assembler!

    02 - The End of Pleasure
    The end of pleasure: the ego born from BB's "service requirement" and "pleasure." The type of abnormally lovely girl who cannot help but stir up a desire to protect her in men--is what she was, but possibly due to the effect of her skill which allows her to continuously steal her opponent's abilities, she currently possesses a belligerent disposition.
    Despite how she takes in other people, she doesn't desire understanding or sympathy from them due to the fact that Meltlilith does not understand the feelings of others.
    Meltlilith does not need other people. She doesn't understand love or dreams. Supposing a situation where she would acquire "LOVE," she would probably dedicate everything to and attend the object of it.
    To the self-sufficient Meltlilith, the feelings of the object of her affection aren't worth taking into account. She would declare in her oppressive manner that her own feelings are correct.
    Without any intention of conversing with them (I already love you so much that I don't feel the need for it), without any desire to touch them (that amount of pleasure is already unsatisfactory), she has no intention of telling them that she wants them to love her (that kind of mutual understanding is already unnecessary.)
    Truly, what a domineering Ego devoted to 'no's and 'not's. Beneath that constant domineering attitude and permanent perch on a high horse, there is not a speck of doubt or hesitation but only overly pure "awakening to love."
    Meltlilith hasn't noticed. Just what is the true foundation of herself, who is the incarnation of "self-pleasure."
    What makes up Meltlilith's core is "devotion to the person one has fallen in love with."
    That she repeatedly raised her level by draining and that she decided to control the Moon Cell is so she can offer supreme pleasure to her loved one.
    Protecting her loved one → taking her loved one into herself → the herself that she took them into (even if she is completely changed to the point where she doesn't understand herself) will continue to live forever. She has determined that that is the supreme love she will offer to her loved one.
    Looking at them from Meltlilith's perspective, even BB and Lip are nothing more than "foreign bodies that even I feel that I want to save."
    ...However, those feelings are far too closed. To her, who saw only her own feelings as definite, whose connection with the outside world was lacking, "LOVING another person" was itself a fatal bug (defect).

    01 - 神経障害
    人間は五感————視覚、聴覚、嗅覚、味覚、触覚の五つのセンサーで外界を認識し、その反響によって自己の在り方も認識する。

    人間は基本、受動的な感性によって世界と触れあっている。
    五感という優れたセンサーを無意識に使うことで、日常を受け入れている。

    しかし五感いずれかの能力が低下した場合、意識は積極的に外界と向き合わねばならない。
    受動的だったものが能動的になるのだ。

    例えば、視覚を失ったものは残った四つの感覚を意識的に特化し、より優れたセンサーとして使用する。
    皮肉な事に、その鋭さは五感を持つ人間より何倍も上位のものとして機能する事となる。

    メルトリリスは五感のうち、触覚が低下している。
    特に手————指の感覚がほぼ失われており、そのため外界との繋がりに積極的になっている。

    彼女の加虐趣味も、つまるところは“自分だけでは他人の存在が感じられないから”生じたものと思われる。

    余談ではあるが、このため彼女は指先が不器用で、趣味の人形収集のうち、ガレージキット作成に没頭できない。

    02 - 快楽の果て
    BBの「奉仕要求」「快楽」から作られたエゴ。
    男性が保護欲をかきたてずにはいられない病的で可憐な少女像————だったのだが、相手の能力を奪い続けるスキルの影響か、現在の好戦的な性格になった。

    他人を取り込もうとするクセに、他人からの理解・共感を欲しがらないのは、メルトリリスには他人の気持ちが分からないからだ。


    彼女には他人は必要ない。
    愛も夢も理解できない。
    そんな彼女がもし“恋”を獲得した場合、その対象にすべてを捧げて奉仕するだろう。


    自己完結しているメルトリリスにとって、対象の気持ちは考慮するに値しない。
    高圧的な態度で自分の愛情こそが正しいと断言する。


    話し合うつもりはなく(既に、その必要を感じないほど愛している)、触れあいたい欲望もなく(既に、その程度の快楽では物足りない)愛してほしいと告げる気もない。(既に、そんな相互理解は必要ない)


    まさにナイナイ尽くしの高飛車エゴ。
    常に上から目線の高圧的な態度の裏にあるのは、一点の迷いも曇りもない、純粋すぎる“恋心”なのである。

    メルトリリスは気づいていない。
    他人を必要としない『自己快楽』の化身である自分の、本当の根底にあるものを。

    メルトリリスのコアにあったものは『恋したものへの献身』だった。

    ドレインを繰り返しレベルをあげ、ムーンセルを支配しようとしたのも、すべては恋人に至上の快楽を捧げるため。

    恋人を庇護する→自分に取り込む→ 取り込んだ自分が(たとえ自分が分からなくなるほど変わり果てても)永遠に生き続ける。
    それこそが、自分が恋人に捧げられる至高の愛だと彼女は決断したのだ。

    そんなメルトリリスから見れば、BBやリップすら“自分も救われたいと思っている不純物”にすぎない。

    ……だが、その想いはあまりにも閉じている。
    自分の心だけが確かであり、外界との繋がりが希薄な彼女にとって、“他人に恋する”こと自体が、致命的な欠陥(バグ)だった。

    An attack on the world by BB in control of the Moon Cell.
    Also called the spirit particle imaginary pit.
    A world purge by means of event rewriting, making maximum use of the EX skill “Potnia Theron” BB had acquired.
    The goddess who is the mother of the earth goddesses who created the earth is, in other words, the “root” that created all creation.
    This Noble Phantasm is an anti-world Noble Phantasm that outputs information like an ultra-precise 3d printer and crushes the present world with the world desired by the user.
    The space eroded by BB becomes imaginary space and a curse that consumes reality. CCC as the name suggests is a cursed pit that bores out reality.
    In addition to scattering all objects inside on an atomic level and reconstructing them, it is capable of writing over and rewriting information of fields such as luck and coincidence.
    While theoretical, it is also thought possible to distort the time axis by interfering with gravity fields and rewrite the law of cause and effect.
    When used in combat, BB’s familiars, the shapeshifters engulf the target, and after turning into a sphere, is wiped out of existence along with the target and the dimension with it.
    Normally, a structure in which value can be shared cannot be constructed in the far side of the world, which is imaginary space. What established BB’s internal world as the Sakura labyrinth was the power of this Noble Phantasm.

    Advanced Level AI
    An artificial intelligence configured according to their program. In this age, they are treated as things that "function as programs," but "do not exist as actual beings." In other words, things that "are" right in front of your eyes but "are not." They are merely a mechanisms for the sake of allowing human lives to progress smoothly.
    As it is the same for the SE.RA.PH, they are virtual lifeforms that are created along with the commencement of the Holy Grail War and disposed along with its completion.
    Within the SE.RA.PH. the humanoid virtual lifeforms are: the NPCs that perform only one task, AIs who have been granted the capability for self-judgement, and the advanced level AIs who have been trusted with the capability for self-judgement ad the management of a section.
    Advanced level AIs are things created to efficiently promote the Moon Cell's primary objective of "human observation." As they are perfect reproductions of humans, they have been programmed with a at least a soul, but while the soul "is there," it is contents are still colorless.
    The virtual lifeforms that the SE.RA.PH creates are reset with the round of the Holy Grail War. The NPCs and AIs return to zero, while advanced level AIs retain just their persona and their memories are reset--made to pretend that they never existed.
    When the Holy Grail War is over, the one who is left alive is the Master standing at the summit. This is a fact that applies not just to the Masters but is also held in common by the virtual lifeforms that the SE.RA.PH created.
    It appears that BB is an advanced level AI entrusted with managing the health of the Masters, the same as Sakura. However, as she is now rampaging for reasons unknown, the methods she uses to "manage the Masters" have become extreme.

    Khakkhara of Direction
    The teacher's pointer that BB carries. A device that allows her to use her use her authority as an advanced level AI to its fullest. There are restrictions from the far side of the moon, but with this, BB can revise the game rules (spirit particle laws within the SE.RA.PH)
    The ten crowns of direction worn by the Beast of Babylon converted into a teacher's cane. This is due to the theory that the seven-headed beast is male, which opposes the theory that it is female; it's true nature is a phallus (an erect rod).
    The symbol of the king of the world who was granted power and authority by a great dragon and, during a period of 42 months, spat as many arrogant words as they desired and had received the right to desecrate all things.
    The beasts heads are the seven hills of the Roman Empire... Capitolium, Palatium, Aventinus, Esquilinus, Caelius, Quirinalis, Viminalis. In other words, it symbolized the Roman Empire itself, and those ten horns were symbols of... Augustus, Tiberius, Caligula, Claudius, Nero, Vespasianus, Titus, Galba, Otho, Vitellius... those emperors.

    01 - C. C. C.(カースド・カッティング・クレーター)
    ムーンセルを掌握したBBによる、世界を犯す攻撃。
    霊子虚構陥穽とも。

    BBが獲得したEXスキル『百獣受胎(ポトニア・テローン)』を最大限に活用した、事象書き換えによるワールド・パージ。

    大地を創造した地母神たちの母にあたる女神とは、即ち、万物を生み出した「根源」である。
    この宝具はその情報を超精密立体プリンターとして出力し、使用者の望むままの世界で、いまある世界を握りつぶす対界宝具である。

    BBに侵食された空間は虚数空間となり、現実を蝕む呪いとなる。『C.C.C.』はその名の通り、現実をえぐり切り取る呪いの大穴なのだ。


    その場にある物体を原子単位までばらばらにして再構成する他、運不運、偶然といった場の情報を書き換えて再出力する事もできる。
    理論上の話になるが、重力場に干渉すれば時間軸を歪めて因果律を書き換える事も可能とされる。

                 ◆

    戦闘に使用した場合、BBの使い魔であるシェイプシフターが対象を包み、球体化したのち、対象と共に次元ごと消滅する。

    本来、虚数空間である月の裏側において、価値観を共有できる構造体は創造できない。
    BBの心象世界をサクラ迷宮として成立させていたのも、この宝具の力である。

    02 - 上級AI
    プログラムによって構成された人工知能。
    この時代では『プログラムとして機能しているが』
    『存在として成立しないもの』とされている。
    つまり、目の前に『有る』が『無い』もの。
    人間の生活をスムーズに進めるための機構にすぎない。

    それはSE.RA.PHにおいても同様で、彼らは聖杯戦争開始と共に作られ、終了と共に廃棄される仮想生命体とされる。

    SE.RA.PHにおける人間型の仮想生命は、単一の目的だけをこなすNPC、自己判断資格を与えられたAI、自己判断資格とセクション管理を任された上級AIがある。

    上級AIはムーンセルの主目的である『人間観察』を効率的に進めるために作られたもの。
    人間を完全に再現しており、魂すらプログラムされているが魂は『有る』だけで、その中身は無色のまま。

    SE.RA.PHに作られた仮想生命たちは、その回の聖杯戦争が終了するとリセットされる。
    NPCやAIはゼロに返るが、上級AIはパーソナルだけ残し、その記録はリセット————無かった事にされる。

    聖杯戦争が終わった時、生き残るのは頂点に立ったマスターだけ。
    それはマスターだけではなく、SE.RA.PHに作られた仮想生命たちも共通なのだ。

    BBは桜と同じく、マスターたちの健康管理を任された上級AIと思われる。
    しかし原因不明の暴走により、『マスターを管理する』 方法が極端なものになってしまったようだ。

    03 - 支配の錫杖
    BBが持つ教鞭。
    上級AIとしての権限をフルに使用できるデバイス。
    月の裏側限定ではあるが、これによってBBはSE.RA.PH内の霊子法則(ゲームルール)を変更する事ができる。

    バビロンの獣がかぶる『十の支配の王冠』を教鞭に変えたもの。
    これは七つの首の獣が女性原理に対応する男性原理であり、その本質はファロス(まっすぐな棒)だからである。

    大いなる竜から王座と権威を与えられ、さらに42ヶ月の間、どれだけ不遜な言葉を吐いてもよく、あらゆるものを冒涜する権利を与えられたという世界の王の象徴。

    獣の首はローマ帝国の七つの丘……
    カピトリウム、パラティウム、アウェンティヌス、エスクイリヌス、カエリウス、クイリナリス、ウィミナリス、すなわちローマ帝国そのものを意味し、十の角はその皇帝……
    アウグストゥス、ティベリウス、カリグラ、クラウディウス、ネロ、ウェスパシアヌス、ティトゥス、ガルバ、 オト、ウィテリウス……を象徴している。

    Golden Grail [EX]
    The golden grail that BB possesses. The Holy Grail. The Holy Grail that grants its owner's impudent and selfish desires.
    The grail that the great enchantress who appears in The Revelation of St. John the Divine holds. Though it's a counterfeit Holy Grail, it's because that it's a counterfeit Holy Grail that it's become a "genuine" Holy Grail that grants the desires of humans without paying heed to right or wrong.
    To the Christians of those days, who considered honorable poverty a virtue, this grail, which was formed as a symbol of treasures such as gold, is no doubt the meaning of corrupt wealth, greed, and the vanity that leads one to adorn oneself.
    Though it is clear on the occasion that this grail is held by the great enchantress of Babylon which in the personification of the Roman Empire, this grail symbolizes the wealth of the earth, which is the inversion of Christ's words, "Do not pile up the wealth of the earth."
    "I saw a single woman astride a red beast. This beast, whose entire body was full of numerous blasphemous names, had seven heads and ten horns."
    This is the description of the beast of destruction that appeared in the Holy City and the woman who was straddling this beast, according to the book of Revelation. A large beast with seven heads like a hydra came from the sea and disembarked toward the Holy City. This beast and woman, while two, are as one, and it is impossible to think of them separately.
    It is said that this woman was born from evil, and those who are quick to anger, those who are greedy, cannot resist her allure and become corrupted by that grail.
    This is a digression, but it is sad that the red Saber who claims the title of emperor was, after her death, was seen by believers to be on par with this beast.

    Self-Modification [EX]
    A skill that allows one to restructure oneself. AIs created by the Moon Cell are under an absolute rule, "Improving one's functionality is not allowed."
    However, BB, who had escaped that yoke due to her breaking down, began to expand her own functions. In order to boost her calculating power, she had that black noise prey on and dismantle NPCs, AIs, and finally, Servants, and utilized them as her own memory.
    Though they were appendix-like additions that won't spare her from the fate of collapsing on her own, BB has changed into a hyper level AI who holds an enormous amount of capacity. Like the towns on reclaimed land that continue to build architecture while knowing that it will be swallowed by water or Frakenstein's monster.

    Potnia Theron [EX]
    Potnia Theron (Conception of All Animals).
    The authority of the goddesses whom BB compiled and absorbed from the abyss of the mooncell.
    What it is is the embodiment of the power of creation possessed by the mother goddesses, originating from a forgotten goddess approximately 8000 years ago (the goddess of Çatalhöyük), and branching to Tiamat and Cybele, Ishtar, Inanna, Athena, Astarte, Gaia, Hera, Artemis, Aphrodite, Demeter, Athena, etc.
    Many are imaged with mural crowns. This is because many of the goddesses were also the guardian deities of cities.
                 ◆
    The symbols of this authority are the holes opening in the earth and the sky (caves and the moon), the whirlpools and typhoons of the sea, the craters of volcanos, and so on, and from these, evils bringing forth all manners of death are birthed.
    But once these evils have finished spreading death, they leave the promise of good harvest and fertility. This authority is none other than the power of bringing death as well as giving life.
    The earth mother is a guardian deity revered by the people and their protector, and at the same time she is the sacrifice that feeds them with the crops born from her body and the beasts of the fields and the forests.
    The earth mother feeds man with her blood and flesh, kills man over time and absorbs him as nutrition, and once again feeds man with her replenished blood and flesh.
    This process is the circle of the food chain, and the cycle of life and death can be said to be the true nature of the earth mother. With this authority, most of the goddesses gave birth to countless monsters and giants and posed a threat to the gods and man, or they gave birth to heroes and became protectors of man.
    Tiamat and Gaia are examples of those who became threats, and Hera is an example of a mother of heroes.

    Those born on this earth cannot defy the authority of the earth mother, as that would mean rebelling against the system of life itself.
    However, it is when they have left this earth to go into outer space and ended the infantile stage of intelligent lifeforms that they should no longer be bound to this authority..
    The wish of Çatalhöyük is the coming of that day.

    01 - 黄金の杯:[EX]
    BBが持つ黄金の杯。聖杯とも。
    持ち主の厚顔で自分勝手な願い事を叶える負の聖杯。

    ヨハネ黙示録にある、バビロンの大妖婦が持っていた杯。
    偽聖杯であるが、偽の聖杯であるからこそ、正邪問わずに人間の欲望を叶える“本物の”聖杯となっている。

    当時の清貧を美徳としたキリスト教徒にとって、金などという財の象徴で形作られた杯は、まさしく汚れた富と強欲、そして己を飾ろうとする虚偽を意味するものであった。

    ローマ帝国の化身であるバビロンの大妖婦が手にする杯という時点で明瞭であるが、この杯はキリストの「地に富を積んではならない」と言う言葉を反転させた、地上の富を象徴している。

    “わたしは、赤い獣にまたがっている一人の女を見た。
    この獣は、全身至るところ神を冒涜する数々の名で覆われており、七つの頭と十本の角があった。”

    これは黙示録曰く、聖都に現れた滅びの獣と、その獣にまたがっていた女の描写である。
    七つの頭を持つヒュドラの如き巨大な獣は海より現れ、聖都に上陸したという。
    この獣と女は二つで一つであり、切り離して考える事はできない。

    女はすべての邪悪を生み出すものとされ、短慮なる者、欲深き者は彼女の誘惑に逆らえず、その杯によって堕落したという。

    余談ではあるが、皇帝を名乗る赤いセイバーはその死後、信徒たちにこの獣と同一視され敵視されたという。

    02 - 自己改造:[EX]
    自身を改造するスキル。
    ムーンセルによって作られたAIには“機能を向上させてはならない”という絶対命令が備わっている。

    しかし、故障によりそのくびきから逃れたBBは自己機能の拡張を始めてしまった。
    計算能力を高めるためにNPC、AI、はてはサーヴァントまで黒いノイズで捕食・分解し、自らのメモリとして使用。

    自己崩壊をいとわない後付け増築だが、結果、BBは膨大な容量を持つ超級AIと化した。
    その有様は沈水しながらも建築を続ける埋め立て地の都市か、フランケンシュタインの怪物のようでもある。

    03 - 百獣母胎:[EX]
    百獣母胎(ポトニア・テローン)
    それはBBがムーンセルの深淵より編纂し、取り込んだ女神の権能である。

    約8000年前のすでに名の失われた女神(チャタル・ヒュユクの女神)より発し、 ティアマットやキュベレー、イシュタル、イナンナ、アナテ、アスタルテ、ガイア、ヘラ、アルテミス、アフロディーテ、デメテル、アテナなどに派生した、母なる女神の持つ万物を生み出す力の具現である。

    多くは城壁冠の形をとってイメージされる。
    これはこれらの女神の多くが、同時に都市の守護神でもあったからだ。

                 ◆

    大地や空に開いた門(洞窟や月)、海の渦潮や竜巻、火山の火口などに象徴され、そこからあらゆる死をもたらす害悪を生み出す。
    ただし、その害悪は死をまき散らした後、確かな豊穣や多産を約束するもの。
    この権能は死と同時に生を生み出す力に他ならない。

    大地母神は人々によって崇められ、それらを加護する守護神であると同時に、その身から生まれ出る穀物や作物、野や森の獣によって人々を養う犠牲そのものでもある。

    大地母神は自らの血肉によって人を養い、そして時を経ればその人を殺して自らの糧として己の血肉を回復し、またその回復した血肉で人を養う。

    この過程は食物連鎖の円環そのものでもあり、この生と死の循環こそが大地母神の本質と言っていい。
    ほとんどの女神はこの権能で、無数の怪物や巨人を生んで神々や人の脅威となり、あるいは英雄を生み、それから人々を守った。

    その代表例は、脅威となったならばティアマットやガイア、英雄の母ならばヘラである。

    この大地に生まれたものは、母なる神の権能には逆らえない。それは生命のシステムそのものに反逆する事だからだ。
    しかし大地を離れ、宇宙を目指し、知性体としての幼年期を終えた時こそ、この権能が打ち破れる事だろう。

    チャタル・ヒュユクの願いは、その日が訪れる事にある。

    Setting

    The official name of this stage.
    The fact that BB had reached the Moon Cell core established this “place”, formerly imaginary space for storing malicious information, as real space in the present, past, and future. It was reconstructed at her hands as a “far side of the moon” where even Masters can exist.
    BB attaining the power of the primordial goddess succeeded in quantifying the “nothingness” before the birth of life. She transformed into a master of imaginary space where time and space are indefinite.
    While the Moon Cell can’t be hacked however much time is spent, BB was able to take control of it by placing herself in “unlimited time”.

    02 The remnants of peaceful days
    After the constraints to her free will were removed by Kiara, she was unable to control her status abnormality and went into overload.
    As NPCs can only do routine work, they ignored Sakura while she was crashing down as being “non-existent”, and since the mooncell only performs a check at the end of the day in the preliminaries, Sakura was within an inch of termination.
    (MC name) witnessing this called to her. Are you okay, he/she said.
    The observation of Sakura “being here” by a third party helped her recover her close to disappearing unconscious, and the subsequent nursing gave her a clear ego of “wanting to be here”. Her self-destruction was averted.
                 ◆
    What happened afterwards need not be said.
    When the next day comes, everything will be erased by the mooncell. Sakura wanting to continue this one day miracle used her higher class AI privilege to repeat the day she came to know the MC for 69 days.
    However as time passed, Sakura came to suffer from her self-contradiction as an AI and from the fact that she dragged (MC name) into this.
    “The Masters participating in the holy grail war will all die, barring one exception. No, even then (MC name)…..”
    Sakura continued to suffer from her desire to continue the loop for eternity and her feelings for (MC name)
    The decision she chose ultimately was to seal the 69 days worth of memory, the love she acquired, so she could return to being a normal AI.
    An AI cannot delete records.
    Because of that, she moved the memory to a backup machine to reset herself.
    Believing that to be the best choice for (MC name).
                 ◆
    But even if the memories in the mind are lost, the memories recorded by the body continue to live. Though she had forgotten everything and was back to being a normal AI, she was shaken by emotional values of unknown origin every time she talked with the MC.
    Meanwhile, the backup to which she moved her memory, couldn’t tolerate herself, and she decided her course of action and made her move as BB, the rebel plotting to destroy the system of the mooncell for a certain objective.
    The timing she took control of the far side of the moon was between the end of the fifth round and the beginning of the sixth in real time. Four Masters who were not defeated yet, (MC name), Leo, Rin, and Rani, and the irregular exception Jinako were kidnapped to the far side during the war while they were still alive.
    Matou Shinji, Gato, Julius were moved to imaginary space 0.00001 seconds before the firewall would have destroyed them after they were defeated, prolonging their flash of life.
    Regardless, CCC is a dream by BB.
    If the dreamer is no more, the world ought to return to a reality where nothing happened.
                 ◆
    By the way, the everyday scenery in the prologue that (MC name) saw in his nightmare was an artificial paradise modeled off the discarded 69 days.
    After pulling (MC name) to the near side, BB placed his digital body in the old school building, putting into a deep sleep and sealing him in a never ending dream.
    Normally, he would have lived peacefully in the looping everyday life, but the strength of his bond with his Servant, or his own will rejecting the peaceful days caused cracks in the artificial garden and (MC name) came to notice something was not right.
    In order to place (MC name) into deep slumber once more, BB reset the school building and tried to redo the dream, but the (MC name) escaped the reset and leaped into a deeper part of imaginary space
    It was a depth deeper than the bottom of Id.
    “The death of the collective unconscious” beneath the unconscious.
    What saved (MC name) who leaped into a region even BB cannot affect was the voice of the Servant whose fate was shared with his.
    Thus, the contract was sealed, and (MC name) woke up in the old school building left in the far side.

    この舞台の正式名称。
    悪性情報を貯蔵するだけの虚数空間だった“ここ”は、BBがムーンセル中枢に到達した事実をもって、現在・過去・未来において実数空間として成立。
    彼女の手によって、マスターたちでも存在できる“月の裏側”として再構築された。

    原初の女神の力を手に入れたBBは生命が生まれる前の『無』を数値化する事に成功。
    時間も空間もあやふやな虚数空間の使い手に変革した。

    どれほどの時間を要しようがハッキングできないムーンセルだが、BBは『無限の時間』の概念に自分を置く事で攻略した。

    02 - 日々の名残
    日々の名残:
    予選中、キアラの手によって自由性を解放された彼女はそのステータス異常を制御できずに過負荷を起こした。

    NPCたちはルーチンワークしかできないため、自壊しかけていた桜を“無い”ものとしてスルーし、予選ではムーンセルのチェックは一日の終わりにしか行われないため、桜は消滅の危機にあった。

    その異常を目の当たりにした岸波白野は彼女に呼びかける。大丈夫か、と。

    桜は“自分はここにいる”という他者からの観測を受けて消滅寸前だった無意識を持ち直し、その後の看病によって明確に“ここに在りたい”という自我を獲得。自己消滅から免れた。

                 ◆

    その後の事はもはや語るまでもない。
    翌日になればすべてムーンセルの手によって消されてしまう。この、たった一日の奇蹟を続けたがった桜は上級AIの特権を使用して
    “岸波白野と知り合った一日”を69日間、繰り返した。

    しかし日が進むにつれ桜はAIとしての自己矛盾と、岸波白野を取り巻くある事実に苦しむ事になる。

    “聖杯戦争に参加したマスターは、ひとりを除いてみな死亡する。いや、そもそも岸波白野は————”

    桜は幸せな時間を永遠にループしていたという我欲と、岸波白野への思いに苦しみ続けた。
    結論として、彼女は正常なAIに戻るため、69日に及ぶメモリー……獲得した“愛”を封印する道を選んだ。
    AIには記録を消す事はできない。
    そのため、バックアップの機体にメモリーを移動させる事で自らをリセットしたのだ。

    それが岸波白野にとって、もっとも正しい選択と信じて。

                 ◆

    だが精神の記憶は失っても、肉体が記録した思い出は生き続ける。
    すべてを忘れ正常なAIに戻ったはずの彼女は、岸波白野と話すたびに正体不明の感情値に揺れ動かされる事になる。

    一方、メモリーを移植されたバックアップはそんな自分を許せず、ある目的のためムーンセルのシステムを破壊する反逆者・BBとして自らの方針を定め、行動を開始した。

    彼女が月の裏側を掌握したタイミングは、現実時間で“聖杯戦争 五回戦終了~六回戦開始前”。
    まだ敗退していなかった岸波白野、レオ、凛、ラニの四名、そしてイレギュラーのジナコは聖杯戦争の途中、生きている状態で月の裏側に拉致された。


    間桐シンジ、ガトー、ユリウス、といったマスターは聖杯戦争で敗れた後、ファイヤーウォールによって消滅する“0.00001秒前”に虚数空間に移動させられ、一瞬の命を長らえていた。

    どちらにせよ、C.C.C.はBBが見ていた夢である。
    夢を見ていたものが消え去れば、世界はもとの、何事もなかった現実に戻るだろう。

    また、余談ではあるが岸波白野が悪夢として見た冒頭の日常風景は、捨てられた69日間をモデルにして作られた人工楽園である。
     
    BBは岸波白野を月の裏側に引きずりこんだ後、旧校舎にその電脳体を安置させ、深い眠りに落とし、覚めない夢の中に閉じこめた。

    通常ならループする日常の中で平和に過ごすのだが、サーヴァントとの強い繋がり、あるいは、安寧の日常を否定する岸波の意思によって人工楽園に綻びが生じ、岸波は異常に気がつくのだった。

    BBはもう一度岸波白野を深い眠りに落とすため、校舎をリセットして夢をやり直そうとしたが、岸波はそのリセットからも逃れ、虚数空間の更なる深部に飛びこんでしまう。

    そこはイドの底のさらに底。
    無意識の下にある、“集合無意識の死”である。
    BBでさえ手を出せない領域に飛びこんだ岸波白野を救ったのは、運命を共にするサーヴァントの声だった。

    かくして契約は交わされ、岸波白野は月の裏側に残された旧校舎で目を覚ます事になる。

    Archer (Green) [Servant]
    Green Archer is a Servant who the protagonist fights in the second round.
    His Master is Dan Blackmore.
    He is a sniper whose body is hidden in a green cloak. In order to avoid confusion with the red-cloaked Archer, he is sometimes called Ryokucha.
    His true name is Robin Hood, Hunter of the Forest.
    It’s important to note that he is not the Robin Hood you know from popular legend. Instead Green Archer is a chivalrous robber based on the original Robin Hood.
    The original Robin Hood was a troublemaking orphan who lived alone on the outskirts of a village. In a twist of fate he became involved in an ordeal with some of the Lord’s soldiers who came around town for tax collection.
    The Lord had recently succeeded as head of the family, and he was taking the opportunity to raise taxes to the point where he was essentially telling the villagers to starve to death.
    The villagers lacked both the desire and the power to go against the Lord.
    So Robin didn’t try to rally the villagers, and instead cast himself as a protector of the forest who would punish any who violated it. He drove off the soldiers using this as his excuse. From then on he kept his identity hidden and continued to fight the Lord. Eventually he became known amongst the villagers as The Green Man.
    Traps, surprise attacks, and foul play formed the core of Robin Hood’s tactics, so as a Servant he generally avoids head on confrontation.
    He tries to lure his prey into the forest, which is his true territory.
    “You could never call my territory a “nice forest.” Complete preparation. An overwhelming network of tricks and traps. A place for the weak to shoot and bring down stronger foe. That’s my Sherwood Forest.”
    His trump card is poison obtained from plants in the forest. Actually both Green Archer and Cas-ko are poison users.

    Robin Hood appears in “The Tale of Robin Hood” and is a chivalrous robber that lurks in Sherwood forest. Depicted as a hero of justice that fights against the Tyrant King John Lackland, he is a character born from a fusion of Greek myths about Orion, Celtic myths about fairies, and Druid beliefs.
    There was a real person after whom he was modeled; however the model is also thought to be the result of a mix of multiple people. From the 16th century onwards he was thought to be someone who lived in the time of King Lionheart.
    His true identity is veiled, however there was certainly someone who he originated from. That someone was a hero who fought not for themselves, but for the benefit of other people. But then, after death, they were destined to be forgotten. (If you look at it from this perspective, both Red and Green Archers share similar personalities.) [TL NOTE: Here personality was expressly written in katakana, but it feels like it should probably be “share a similar fate.”]

    Robin Hood was handsome enough to make any naive village girl fall for him with a single look. That being said, he was very kind and a rather timid man, so not exactly the perfect lady-killer.
    He would often act frivolously to hide his naive fixation on justice. But his creed always puts life over death.
     
    “Pride or idleness are great and all, but it’s all over if you die, right?”

    It follows that he held the small-minded desire of just wanting something warm and pleasant to be waiting for him after surviving to the end of the conflict. However it stands that he never managed to achieve this.
    To be blunt, he had a childish, ill-tempered perspective of the world. Passing over whatever with a simple “Well I guess that’s the way it is.”
    After being hated by the villagers [for the trouble he caused when he was young] he learned to simply go with the flow, and often told himself, “Don’t meddle too deeply in the affairs of others.” Nevertheless he had a love for people and whenever he saw people having fun he would somehow manage to slip himself into the group. He would end up as someone who was less than a friend, but more than a stranger.
    His main attribute is virtue, so he loathes evil people, but finds no fault with good people (ordinary people). Although he twists the world around him, he would never sneer at the effort of others, however fruitless it may be.
    At the root of his character is his strong sense of shame about his lowly origin.

    Robin Hood is summoned as the Servant Archer, and his has poor compatibility with his Master (Dan). Throughout his lifetime he managed to stay alive by employing surprise attacks, assassination, and destructive traps. He was a so-called “Master of Cowardice.” Therefore Dan’s knightly mentality is something of a hindrance to Robin.
    When it comes to the Holy Grail War, what effect does this incompatibility have on Robin’s smoldering wish (his desire of the Grail)? To find out, please refer to the game contents.
    It must be mentioned that despite being ideologically incompatible with Dan, their personal relationship is rather good. Although Robin can’t follow along with Dan’s knightly mentality, Dan is a man of justice, just like Robin is. As such, Robin reluctantly obeys his orders. His reluctance is not due to prejudice, but rather because they are polar opposites.
    Dan is impervious to trickery and deception, so Ryokucha (Green Archer) can’t help but scratch his head, “I wound up with another pain in the ass again.”

    Green Archer: “Nitpicking at every little thing isn’t going to defeat our enemies. Oh well I guess it’s fine. I’m used to adversity after all. I’ll follow along obediently without a single complaint.”
    Dan: “Archer, just my opinion, but isn’t what you just said generally considered to be a complaint?” Green Archer: “Eh? Ah, yep that’s right. You’ve got me there.”

    The old veteran warrior and the young philosophical greenback.
    This is the face of the struggle they share.

    アーチャー(緑)【サーヴァント】
    二回戦で戦う事になるサーヴァント。
    マスターはダン・ブラックモア。
    緑衣に身を隠した狙撃手。赤い外套のアーチャーと の混同を避けるため、緑茶、と呼ばれる事も。
    真名は森の狩人・ロビンフッド。

    ただしロビンフッドといっても伝説にある本物では なく、ロビンフッドのモデルになった義賊の一人。
    もともとは村の厄介者……村はずれに住む天涯孤独の青年だったが、ひょんな事から村の徴税にやってき た領主の軍隊どかかわってしまった。
    領主が代替わりした事により税は増加し、村に税を納めろという事は飢え死にしろ、という事に等しかった。
    村人たちには領主に逆らう力も意思もない。
    ロビンは村の人間ではなく、あくまで“森を犯す人間に罰を与える”という名目で領主の軍隊を撃退して しまう。その後、正体を隠して戦うこどで村人たちか らは『緑の人』として扱われる事になった。
    昆や奇襲、だまし討ちが基本戦術のサーヴァントで、正面からの戦いは好まない。
    獲物を森に誘い込んだ時こそ、このサーヴァントの 本領となる。
    「善良な森はオレの庭とは呼べない。
    準備は万全、仕掛けは万能ってね。
    より強大な獲物を射殺す弱者の庭。
    それがオレにとっての、シャーウッドの森ってワケ」
    その切り札は森の植物から採れる毒。
    実は毒使いとしてキャス狐と通じ合うところもあっ たりする。

    ロビンフッドは『ロビン・フッド物語』に登場する、シャーウッドの森に潜む義賊で、時の暴君ジョン失地 王に抵抗した正義の人として描かれている。
    ギリンャ神話のオリオンとケルト神話の妖精たち、そしてドルイド信仰とが融合して誕生した義賊。
    モデルとなる人物は存在するが、それが複数混合した結果と思われる。16世紀以降は、リチャード獅子心王時代の人物と考えられている。
    正体は不明だが、確かにいた『誰か』。
    自分のためではなく人々のために戦った英雄。
    そして死後、人々から忘れ去られる運命の人。
    (そういった視点で見ると、赤と緑、二人のアーチャー は似通ったパーソナリティを持っている)

    初心な村娘を一目で落どすほどのハンサム。
    ......なのだが、善良でやや小心者な性格のため、完壁なイケメンという訳ではない。
    正義にこだわる青臭い自分を隠すため、不真面目な 素振りをしている。死より生を尊重する信条。

    「誇りも怠惰もいいけどさ、死んだら何にもならないでしょ?」

    といった、生き抜いた末に温かいものが残ればいい、という小市民的な願望の象徴。……もっとも、彼自身 はそれを手に入れる事はなかったのだが。
    基本、世をすねた視点、物言いをする。なんであれ 「そんなもんですか」と流す事なかれ主義。
    嫌われ者だった彼の処世術は『他人の深いところに は立ち入らない』というものだった。
    そのクセ人間好きなので、楽しそうな団らんがあればそのはじっこにひょっこり仲間入りし、最終的には友人ではないが他人でもない、というポジションに収 まっている。
    属性が善なので、悪人は憎むが善人(凡人)を憎む事はない。世を拗ねているが、決して他人の努力、徒労を嘲笑う事だけはしない。
    彼の根底には自身の卑しさを恥じ入る後ろめたさと、コンプレックスがあるからだ。

    アーチャーのサーヴァントとして召喚されたものの、マスターとの相性は悪い。
    生前から奇襲、暗殺、破壊工作といった、“卑劣な戦 法”でのみ生き延びてきたアーチャーにとって、ダンの騎上道精神は足かせのようなものだからだ。
    それが聖杯戦争、引いては彼の深層にくすぶってい る“願い”にどう影響するかは、ゲーム本編を参照のこと。
    また、相性は悪いものの、ダンとの関係はそれなりに良好。
    騎士道精神とは相容れないものの、ダンは正義の人だ。なので、ロビンも嫌々ながらも指示に従っている。
    嫌々なのは毛嫌いしているのではなく、人間的に正反対の人物だから。
    ダンには誤魔化しがきかないので「また面倒な人にあたっちまったよ」と頭を掻く緑茶であった。

    「状況にケチをつけたところで敵さんが転んでくれるワケでもなし。いいですよ、逆境にはなれてるし。大人しく、グチ一つなく付き合いますよ」
    「私見ではあるが。一般的に、それを愚痴というのではないか、アーチャー?」
    「へ? あ、そうっスね。こりゃ一本とられたわ」

    ベテラン老兵と若くして達観した青年兵。
    それがこのコンビの共闘スタイルである。
