Orlando Reeve (オーランド・リーヴ, Ōrando Rīvu?) is the "False" Master of False Caster in the True and False Holy Grail Wars of Fate/strange Fake.
Profile[]
Background[]
Orlando Reeve is the police chief of Snowfield. He is a magus who has gone to great lengths to prepare for the Holy Grail War. He has known of the ritual, and he is disappointed in the government for their decision to advertise it to outsiders. He is in a close alliance with Faldeus Dioland, the main player behind the war, and, though begrudgingly, Francesca.
Appearance[]
Personality[]
Orlando is a very serious and solemn man with a commanding voice, and he does not mix well with the boisterous Caster. He responds to Caster's rambling in a serious tone, but simply hearing Caster's blatant words causes him to frown and twitch while trying to keep his cool. They don't interact face to face, but instead use a phone line that evokes a rather strange sense of distance between them. He responds to Caster's exaggerated lies calmly, and simply tries to urge him back to work with promises of women and other delicacies.
He is very charismatic, instilling loyalty within his squad. They remain alert and expressionless, and respond to their master in flawless unison. He radiates intimidation, enough that even the darkness surrounding him seems to grow restless.

Day 0[]
Orlando holds a meeting with one of his informants and his squad after the materialization of the other five Servants to discuss the true start of the Holy Grail War. He is disappointed that his system has only identified Tine Chelc and her Servant, False Archer, and while he had planned to ally with the Kuruoka family, the emergence of False Rider has caused them to lose contact. The only other Master confirmed is Flat Escardos, but both his identity and that of his Servant are missed and the only reason he was seen is because he chose to summon his Servant in broad daylight.
While musing that Archer, the King of Heroes, is the greatest obstacle, he is interrupted by a call from his Servant, False Caster. He quickly begins on a tangent of random topics and complaints over his workload. He tries to placate Caster while suppressing his frustration, but discussing the merits of Caster's abilities causes Caster to fly into a rage. He decides to hang up the phone amid Caster's ranting to go back to his meeting. He returns to discussing the strategy to slay Archer, and directly addresses his squad, vowing to them as both the Chief of the Snowfield Police Department and a magus that they are the force of justice. Orlando names this police force the Clan Calatin, after the clan of warriors who fought against Cu Chulainn.[1]
Orlando continues to monitor the Grail War and becomes aware of the battle between False Archer and False Lancer, dispatching some officers to the battlefield. However, the battle between the Heroic Spirits stops before Clan Calatin is able to intervene.[2] Orlando later talks with Caster about the issue, being surprised and worried about the amount of information Caster has gathered on the entire War. Orlando later is informed of the small battle between the newly summoned Saber and False Assassin, which caused the roof of an opera house to be blown off. Orlando's police force arrests both Saber and his Master, Ayaka Sajyou, and take them to the police station. They are locked up, with Orlando sending the sword Saber used to blow up the opera house's roof to Caster for inspection.[3]
Day 1[]
Orlando is also met by Hansa Cervantes, a member of the Church who has been sent to act as the overseer. Hansa questions Orlando about Saber and his Master, wishing to meet them. Orlando though is very unfriendly towards Hansa, refusing to accept him as an overseer and even threatening to arrest him. Before the scene can escalate though, False Assassin arrives to the building, looking for Saber. Orlando and his Clan Calatin then engage Assassin, being able to hold their own against the Heroic Spirit. However, their battle is interrupted by Assassin's Master, Jester Karture, who sends Assassin away with a Command Spell and engages the police force himself. Despite performing fairly well against Assassin, Orlando and Clan Calatin are now unable to even damage Jester, who is immune to their Noble Phantasms due to being a Dead Apostle. Before Jester can start seriously attacking them, Hansa steps in to face him, as Dead Apostles are the natural enemy of the Church.[4] Hansa is able to fare much better against Jester, eventually driving him away and saving the police force, much to Orlando's dismay.[5] Also, its revealed that Saber and Ayaka slipt away under the confusion. However, there is also good news, as Caster informs Orlando that he has received a special hydra venom dagger that they had ordered from a freelance mage, that Caster can use to create a very powerful Noble Phantasm.[6]
Caster and Orlando are shown discussing the sword wielded by Saber, with Caster confirming that its a simple ordinary sword. However, based on Saber's appearance, Caster is able to guess that he is Richard I, better known as the Lionheart. Caster tells Orlando about Richard, explaining that he was also known as the "Wandering King" due to being the last king to wander between the boundary of history and myth. Orlando though is still confused why Saber had such a similar Noble Phantasm to King Arthur's Excalibur, with Caster explaining that Richard was a huge fan of Arthurian Legends, calling every sword he owned and even tree branches he picked up Excalibur. This is the origin of his Noble Phantasm.[7]
Day 2[]
The police station is later infiltrated by Flat Escardos and his Servant, False Berserker, who manage to make their way all the way to Orlando's room. Orlando is initially wary of them, but Flat explains that he is there to form an alliance with Orlando, concerning the safety of Tsubaki Kuruoka, the comatose young girl who has become the Master of False Rider. Orlando agrees to the alliance and later sends his Clan Calatin, along with Berserker, to the hospital to secure Tsubaki. However, Bazdilot Cordelion, the Master of True Archer, is also informed of their mission through his spies in the police force, deciding to send True Archer to kill Tsubaki. Clan Clatin and Berserker then clash with True Archer, near the hospital.[8]
Abilities[]
Orlando resides in a high elevation building inside a modern office with several desks placed side by side, topped with personal computers, and other modern conveniences like air conditioners. It is not typical of a magus' lair, and it does not seem like it would be part of the battleground of the Holy Grail War. However, it does have its fair share of traps, with Orlando being able to summon demonic familiars anywhere in the building. He has taken great care into his strategy for winning the war, and he has involved the entire police force as well. He chose to summon Caster even though he is a non-combative Servant, as they instead plan to take a path that will shake the War's very foundation: to defeat Heroic Spirits with the power of humans (人間による英霊の打倒?). He has Command Spells with a chain-like pattern.
He has used the Police Department to open a physical “web” over the city. While he wished to rely on both personal informants and a monitoring system that watches the entire city to identify the other Servants and Masters, he is disappointed that it has been almost useless. At the start of the war, the only confirmed Master and Servant are Tine Chelc and Archer, while the status of rest of them were mostly unknown. Unknown factors brought in by making the ritual public also messed up the system by making it difficult to determine those who have inherited the Command Spells from the magi that have entered the city.
Due to Caster's ability to produce forged Noble Phantasms with greater power than the originals, he has formed a group of close to thirty men and women that he has decided to codename as Clan Calatin. Orlando himself also has a Noble Phantasm created by Caster, a Japanese katana. Caster noted that Orlando is the closest to accessing the full power of his Noble Phantasm out of the entire police force.[6] Orlando also carries a gun, which he uses to summon his familiar.
Development[]
TYPE-MOON Ace 10 showcased a prototype design for Orlando.[9]
